Monday

Tanya discovers that half of her cancer painkillers are missing. She discards the rest of the pills in the bin before looking through Lauren's things, fearing that her wayward daughter may have taken them. Soon afterwards, Sharon arrives, claiming that she wants to use Tanya's kitchen to make some cakes for the school bake sale. However, her real intention is to steal the rest of Tanya's pills when nobody is looking.

When Lauren arrives home, Tanya leaves the kitchen to talk to her. Lauren firmly denies taking the pills and Tanya immediately feels guilty for suspecting her.

At the same time, Sharon finds the rest of the pills in Tanya's bin. Once Sharon has gone, Tanya notices that the tablets have been taken from the bin and begins to put two and two together…

Michael and Janine's meeting comes to an end.
Meanwhile, Michael plants a baby monitor in Scarlett's buggy as he hands the youngster over to Janine, who is looking after her for a while. However, when the couple later attend a meeting with their solicitors, Janine stays one step ahead by producing the monitor he used to spy on her. Struggling to explain his actions, Michael calls the meeting to an end without hearing Janine's offer.

As the day continues, Michael realises that he is backed into a corner, so he asks Janine what her terms are. Janine's first offer is for her to have full custody and for Michael to only see Scarlett when she says so, but Michael refuses to accept this. Presenting an even worse offer, Janine declares that she wants him to have no access whatsoever, to make full maintenance payments, and to move out of her house by tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Lauren can't remember her drunken actions from the day before and is shocked to learn that she and Joey are over, Bianca pretends to be fine about Liam moving away, and will Ian manage to secure the lease for his new venture?

Tuesday

Alice walks in on Michael packing and discovers that he is planning to flee the country with Scarlett. Michael is touched when Alice offers to go with him, but he ultimately turns her down. Soon afterwards, Michael makes his attempt to leave, but he is caught in the act by Janine - she's not letting him get away that easily.

As the former couple continue to argue over who is the fittest parent, Janine insists that she is trying her best to be a better mother, but Michael points out that he already has a strong bond with Scarlett. Playing her trump card, Janine reminds Michael that he grew up without a mother and he wouldn't want that for his own daughter. Michael realises that Janine is right and makes the heartbreaking decision to hand Scarlett over to her.

Tanya goes to the R&R to confront Sharon.
Meanwhile, Tanya tries to comfort Lauren over her break-up with Joey, but it all becomes too much for Lauren and she breaks down in her mother's arms. Soon afterwards, Tanya goes to the R&R to confront Sharon over the missing pills. Sharon makes the excuse that she is having terrible migraines after everything that's happened and needs something strong. Still concerned, Tanya urges Sharon not to take anymore pills until she has seen a doctor. Later, Sharon takes a wad of notes out of the till at R&R and hands it to a bouncer in the club in a desperate exchange for more pills…

Elsewhere, Bianca and Kat get back at Lister after he questions Bianca on her parenting skills and tells them off for the state of their market stall. However, Lister doesn't take kindly to their pranks and takes their pitch away from them for three weeks as a punishment.

Also today, Carol takes the bull by the horns by inviting Masood out for a drink, while Jay and Dexter decide to find out who is pulling their weight most at The Arches by keeping a record of what they both do over the next 48 hours - the loser will have to make the tea.

Thursday

Sharon is relieved when the bouncer at the club produces more pills, which put an end to her latest withdrawal symptoms. Soon afterwards, Sharon and Phil decide to go public with their relationship. However, Shirley warns Sharon that she's making a big mistake getting back with Phil, and this encounter pushes Sharon to take more tablets.

Lola finds Sharon passed out on the floor.
Later, Sharon drinks at Billy's birthday party at The Vic, but she starts to feel nauseous due to the dangerous combination of pills and alcohol. She uses Lexi's tiredness as an excuse to leave the party. When Sharon arrives home, she leaves Lexi in her buggy and runs upstairs to be sick. Not long afterwards, Lola heads over to Phil's to say goodnight. However, Lola is shocked to find Lexi abandoned in her buggy and Sharon unconscious on the bathroom floor upstairs…

Meanwhile, Michael pretends to Kat that he's fine and things have turned out for the best. He throws himself into work, but upsets Ray by telling him that he no longer wants any part of the youth boxing scheme. Later, Kat and Alice worry about Michael when they find him at The Vic acting like nothing has happened. However, when Janine and Scarlett arrive for Billy's party, it's clear that Michael isn't handling the situation as well as he says he is.

Billy arrives at his surprise party.
Elsewhere, Billy is delighted that everyone has made the effort for his birthday, having originally feared that it had been forgotten. He's particularly pleased when Ava kisses him on the cheek and wishes him a happy birthday.

Also today, Bianca and Kat try to talk Lister round but Bianca ends up making the situation ten times worse, Poppy sets herself on a mission to find Tamwar a girlfriend, while Dexter tells Ava that he'll give Billy a chance but only if she spends some time with Cora.

Friday

Lola is relieved when she manages to wake Sharon, but is confused when she strongly refuses to go to A&E. Soon afterwards, all becomes clear when Lola finds the contents of Sharon's handbag spilled across the kitchen table - including the pills. Lola is just about to call Phil about this when Sharon urges her not to, confessing to her problem and the fact that Phil has no idea.

Sharon promises Lola that she isn't addicted, but when the teenager goes to throw the pills away, Sharon violently wrenches them back before scrabbling around on her hands and knees to pick them up. Lola makes it clear that she intends to tell Phil the truth when he gets home, as she can't have Lexi living with Sharon anymore. However, Sharon warns Lola that she'll risk Lexi going back into care if she reveals her secret. When Phil arrives home, what will Lola do about her impossible dilemma?

Michael causes a scene at The Vic.
Meanwhile, Michael causes a drunken scene at The Vic after Janine has spent the evening flaunting Scarlett in his face. Alice helps Michael back to the gym, but soon realises that this is where he's been staying. Alice and Kat join forces to convince Michael to come and stay with them. They make Michael realise that his battle with Janine isn't over and they are going to help him get Scarlett back.

Elsewhere, Ian announces that Janine is his new business partner and has helped him to acquire the lease to the Emporium. He plans to turn it into a fine dining establishment and open up within the next few weeks. Lucy is furious that Ian has gone behind her back, but Joey urges her to give her father a break.

Also today, Billy and Ava get on like a house on fire but Dexter reminds Ava that she needs to hold up her end of their deal, Masood and Carol share a kiss after their date, Kat and Bianca photograph Lister in a compromising position and attempt to blackmail him, while Poppy and Fatboy are pleased to realise that Alice and Tamwar have plenty in common.

Michael Moon struggles to cope next week after making the difficult decision to give up his baby daughter Scarlett.

Michael (Steve John Shepherd) was rocked last week as his estranged wife Janine Butcher returned to Albert Square and made it clear that she intended to take Scarlett from him.

Next week's episodes see Michael realise that he is fighting a losing battle with Janine (Charlie Brooks), so he considers the desperate measure of fleeing Walford with Scarlett.

Michael's plan is thwarted when Janine catches him about to run away with their daughter, and the pair end up having another row over who is the fittest parent.

Michael is caught by Janine.

The situation takes a twist when Janine plays her trump card, pointing out that Michael grew up without a mother and wouldn't want that for his own daughter.

Affected by these words, Michael is finally convinced to hand Scarlett over to Janine.

After giving up Scarlett, Michael puts on a front for those who care about him, telling Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) and Alice Branning (Jasmyn Banks) that everything has worked out for the best.

Later in the week, however, Michael's true feelings pour out after Janine spends an evening flaunting Scarlett in his face during Billy Mitchell's birthday party at the Queen Vic.

When an emotional Michael makes a drunken scene, Alice and Kat's concern for him escalates and they promise that they're going to help him win Scarlett back. Should Janine be worried?
