Hollyoaks regular Callum Kane has been killed off in the latest episode of Hollyoaks Later.

Callum, played by Laurie Duncan, was murdered by crazed Jade Hedy in a gruesome story twist on the after-dark spinoff show.

Duncan's departure from Hollyoaks was not announced before transmission to ensure that Callum's grisly fate was a surprise for fans.

Callum's exit came as the full extent of Jade's sinister side was revealed in a dark episode.

Still eerily fixated on Esther Bloom's liver, which once belonged to her late boyfriend, Jade attacked the blonde and tied her up in the attic at the country home where the teens have been enjoying a holiday.

Callum tried his best to save Esther, but was unable to evade an erratic Jade as she plunged a samurai sword into his chest.

Callum first arrived on Hollyoaks in September 2011 as part of a new batch of sixth formers for the show.

The teen's main storylines included his relationship with Maddie Morrison, his constant problems with alcoholic mum Martha, and more recently showing a rebellious side to his character as his family dramas continued.
