Richard Griffith has died at the age of 65.

He reportedly passed away after complications following heart surgery.

The British actor was most recently seen in the play The Sunshine Boys alongside Danny DeVito.

Griffiths has had an acting career spanning over 30 years, first appearing in the 1975 movie It Shouldn't Happen to a Vet.

Since then, he has had roles in many much loved film and televison series.

Griffiths won a Laurence Olivier Award for 'Best Actor' when he starred in the play The History Boys.

He most notably appeared as Uncle Vernon in the Harry Potter series and as Uncle Monty in Withnail & I.

That's very sad news. I always thought he was a great actor. Apart from all his big film roles, I thought he was just brilliant in the Vicar of Dibley as the Bishop.

He was a great actor.

I loved him in the history boys. Theres a good article written by James Corden in The Guardian about him.

Yes I did, I was quite surprised when it said he was only 65, I always thought he was much older.

Really liked him in 'Pie in the sky' Started watching it recently and found it enjoyable. :)
