Coronation Street's Alan Halsall has revealed that he is expecting a baby girl with wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.
The couple will welcome their first child together later this year, after revealing Hudson's pregnancy on Twitter in February.
In an interview with Hello (via the Daily Mail), the former Wild at Heart and Corrie star said that she was very happy with the news, as she "always wanted a baby girl".
Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs in the Weatherfield soap, also admitted: "The baby would have been named after a Manchester United player if he was a boy."
The pair divulged that former co-star Liz Dawn (Vera Duckworth) was one of the first people with whom they initially shared their news, along with Alma Tarmey, the widow of Dawn's on-screen husband Bill, who passed away in 2012.
Hudson also said that she suffered from severe morning sickness during the early days of her pregnancy, adding: "I couldn't get out of bed some days."

Former Coronation Street actress Lucy-Jo Hudson has revealed that her unborn baby with husband Alan Halsall swore at them during an ultrasound.
The Wild at Heart star, who played Katy Harris on the soap until 2005, told Reveal that she and the Tyrone Dobbs actor "burst into fits of giggles" after spotting their daughter's cheeky gesture in a 4D six-month scan.
"It was so emotional, I got really choked up," Hudson said of the experience. "We just got carried away watching her for about half an hour. I think she's got my bigger lips and my dodgy feet.
"Then, the naughty little thing, she put her arm over her head and stuck up two fingers. Well, we all burst into fits of giggles. Al's now got that picture as his screen saver."
Hudson, who is due in August, also revealed how her husband became addicted to One Born Every Minute, after he got confused about the setup of a water birth.
"He was like, 'So do I have to get in the water with you?"," she recalled. "He didn't get it. He honestly thought he'd be sat in a bath with me. Can you imagine? Us two wearing b*llock all, it would be hilarious.
"So I wanted him to watch it on One Born Every Minute to see it and I got him hooked on it."
Hudson added that she is "ready for the next chapter" of her life after suffering horrendous morning sickness in the first 16 weeks of her pregnancy, which she likened to having "a hangover 24/7".
"Al will be there at the birth," she said. "He's been to every midwife appointment, every class, every scan. He is so excited and I know he'll be an amazing dad.
"Al and I have been together nine years and I've known him for 12, so we've had a great relationship, just us two. This little girl will completely change our lives, but we're ready for the next chapter."
Coronation Street star Alan Halsall and wife Lucy-Jo Hudson have welcomed a baby girl.
They became parents this morning (September 7) and mother and baby are now resting at home.
The Tyrone Dobbs actor tweeted: "Lucy-Jo & I are delighted to announce the arrival of our little girl born this morning. Mother & baby are home with a very proud Father.
"Welcome #babyhalsall," he added.
He was congratulated by a number of his co-stars on the ITV soap, including Paula Lane, Beverley Callard and Jennie McAlpine.
Former co-star and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Natalie Gumede also tweeted her well wishes to Halsall and Hudson.
Halsall recently revealed that he made Hudson take five pregnancy tests to confirm they were really expecting a child. They added that they were surprised at how quickly they conceived after deciding to start a family.
Meanwhile, Halsall admitted that he is saddened his late co-star Bill Tarmey is not alive to meet the couple's child.
He said: "I know he would be thrilled. He'd be buzzing. It's a shame he'll never get to meet our little girl."
Congratulations to them :D
