EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell will be rushed to hospital after his feud with Jack Branning escalates into violence.

Phil (Steve McFadden) has infuriated Jack in recent months by trying to cause problems for his relationship with Sharon Rickman, and the love triangle intensifies in upcoming episodes as Jack angrily attacks his rival.

As revealed in this fortnight's All About Soap magazine, Jack (Scott Maslen) will fear he has killed Phil as the businessman is left lying lifeless at The Arches following their altercation.

The latest story development begins when a jealous Jack encourages Sharon (Letitia Dean) to stop running the R&R club for Phil, pointing out that she could have a better-paid job elsewhere.

When Sharon considers this suggestion, Phil is quick to respond by offering her a stake in R&R. However, Jack is at the end of his tether over Phil's close bond with Sharon, and heads over to The Arches to warn him off.

A defiant Phil refuses to call off his deal with Sharon, so Jack punches him and Phil falls backwards into the pit at the garage.

With blood trickling from an unconscious Phil's ear, Jack flees the scene in horror as he wonders what to do next - and he even considers running away from Walford to escape the repercussions.

Jack eventually confides in his brother Max (Jake Wood) over what has happened, but is too frightened to check on Phil to see if he is still alive.

As Jack drowns his sorrows in the Queen Vic, he later faces a mixture of relief and worry when Phil staggers into the pub in a state.

Although Phil initially has no memory of what happened to him, he soon remembers enough to announce Jack's guilt to the whole pub. As Phil is rushed to hospital, viewers will be left to wonder what the consequences will be for violent Jack.

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, February 25 and Tuesday, February 26 on BBC One.

Monday

Jack tells Sharon that she could earn more money for less hassle if she worked in the West End rather than R&R. Taking this on board, Sharon asks Phil for a raise, but he declares that she should quit if she isn't happy. Soon afterwards, Sharon manages to get an interview for another job, and a smug Jack can't resist sharing this news with Phil.

Phil lies lifeless after Jack's attack.

Jack wants his rival to stand up and fight, but is shocked to see that Phil is lying lifeless and blood is trickling from his ear. He is immediately left fearing the worst…

Meanwhile, Michael uses counterfeit money to pay Alice for babysitting Scarlett. However, Alice soon finds herself in trouble with Denise at the Minute Mart for trying to pay with a dodgy note. Jack arrives at the shop after receiving a distressed call from Alice and manages to stop Denise reporting the incident. When Jack questions Alice about where she got the note from, she protects Michael by keeping quiet. Michael feels bad about what's happened, but when he opens his wallet to pay Alice for real this time, he is skint.

Alice is upset that everyone has forgotten it's Derek's birthday.
Elsewhere, Kirsty is fed up with constantly feeling like 'the other woman' who is disrupting Max's family life. When Kirsty sees that Alice is upset with everyone for forgetting Derek's birthday, she suggests they should throw a party in Derek's name at The Vic that night.

Also today, Ayesha and Carol find themselves at odds over Masood, things look up for Ayesha when Masood agrees to go on a date with her, while Dexter tries to comfort Lola when Phil upsets her by refusing to give her and Billy a lift to court for the upcoming hearing.

Tuesday

Jack is terrified as he stands over Phil's lifeless body. He tries to call Max, but when he gets no answer, his panic rises and he decides to flee the scene. Although Jack is desperate to talk to Max, various distractions prevent him from getting a moment alone with his brother. Hurrying home, Jack starts to pack a bag to run away, but he's interrupted when Dot arrives and orders him to go to Derek's party at The Vic.

Jack explains to Max what he did to Phil and that he has to leave Walford.
Soon afterwards, Jack finally gets a chance to talk to Max, who tries to convince him to go and check if Phil is okay. However, Jack is too frightened to do that, and instead heads over to the pub to drown his sorrows. After a few drinks, Jack gets annoyed with Sharon and blames her for pushing him too far with Phil, before ending their relationship.

As a humiliated Sharon leaves the pub, events take another twist as a disorientated Phil enters in a sorry state. Max asks Phil if he can remember what happened, but he can't. Jack then pushes through the crowd and touches Phil's face, which brings the memories flooding back. Phil announces that Jack did this to him…

Meanwhile, Michael decides to come clean to Alice about deliberately giving her the dodgy note. Feeling guilty over his actions, he gives Alice the watch that Janine bought him. However, Alice refuses to accept the watch and takes an IOU instead.

Elsewhere, Tanya attends Derek's gathering at The Vic to prove to Kirsty that she is not bothered by her presence, while Carol starts to come round to Kirsty and thinks that maybe she isn't so bad after all.

Thursday

Phil lies in a hospital bed following the attack, while Jack sits in a police cell but is eventually let out on bail. Jack heads to the hospital to apologise to Phil, and finds that Sharon is with him. When the doctor tells Phil that he's well enough to talk to the police and go home, Sharon agrees to take a few days off work to look after him. However, she also gives Jack some hope that their relationship isn't over by confirming that he'll see her at home later.

When Phil is alone with Sharon again, he expresses fears about what this means for Lexi. Sharon insists that Lexi will be fine staying with her for a few days, but Phil explains that the residency deal insists on Lexi staying at his house. As a result, Sharon agrees to move in to look after both of them for a while. When the police then enter and ask Phil for his statement, will he press charges against Jack?

Later, Sharon arrives home to find that Jack is cooking for her, but she explains that she is going to be staying at Phil's to help with Lexi. Jack pleads with Sharon not to go, grabbing her arm hard. However, it's no use and Jack is left heartbroken as she refuses to change her mind…

Tamwar asks Ayesha to leave.
Meanwhile, Ayesha struggles to make peace with Tamwar, who isn't impressed by her continued presence. Ayesha tells Tamwar that if she knew her relationship with Masood would come between them, she would walk away, so Tamwar tells her to leave. Later in The Vic, Ayesha explains to Masood that Tamwar is not willing to accept them as a couple, so she suggests they should move away together to start afresh.

Elsewhere, Patrick is mortified when Denise hires a carer to look after him for a few hours so that she can accompany Lucy to her appointment, Shirley congratulates Jack for his attack on Phil and tells him to finish the job next time, Lucy is relieved when her test results come back all clear, while Dot has a meeting with the Housing Benefit Office who warn that she'll have to wait to hear if any further action will be taken over the subletting situation.

Friday

Jack tries to apologise to Sharon, but they can't seem to reach a resolution over the Phil situation. When Jack enters the flat, he hears a message on his answer phone from Sharon's solicitor, explaining that she should bring her passport with her tonight to finalise the R&R partnership agreement with Phil. Jack then opens a drawer and considers taking Sharon's passport to prevent this from happening.

Later, Sharon tells Tanya that she's certain Jack will come round to the R&R deal eventually. When she hears that Phil is home from hospital, she heads over to his house and seeks reassurance that there are no strings when it comes to the club. Phil promises this is the truth, so she heads back to Jack's place and looks for her passport in its usual place. When it's not there, Sharon asks Jack if he's seen it, but he insists that he hasn't. Knowing that Jack is lying, how will Sharon react?

Ayesha tells Masood that she wants him more than anything.
Meanwhile, Masood tells AJ that Ayesha has asked him to move away with her, and with his life going badly at the moment, he is considering it. It seems that Masood is having a mid-life crisis, but he still isn't sure whether leaving with Ayesha is the best move. Ayesha assures Masood that she wants him more than anything, and he should leave with her tonight if he feels the same way. Feeling he has nothing to stay for, Masood packs his things and heads off to meet Ayesha at the station. Will he go?

Elsewhere, Ian is back on the Square with Bobby and celebrates his birthday at the Queen Vic. Ian gives Denise a quick kiss when she hands him a birthday card, but Denise has to leave the celebration early as Patrick needs her. Back at the B&B, Denise and Kim find Patrick drunk in the kitchen. Denise demands that Patrick sit down, but he lashes out in frustration and pushes a horrified Denise, who falls and cuts her face.

EastEnder' Denise Fox is left injured next week as Patrick Trueman lashes out at her in frustration.

Patrick's (Rudolph Walker) temper boils over as he struggles to cope with losing his independence in the aftermath of his nasty fall from the top of a ladder.

Although Patrick is grateful that Denise (Diane Parish) and Kim (Tameka Empson) are keen to take care of him at home, he misses his old active life as he now spends most of his time indoors.

Patrick is also mortified when Denise hires a carer to take over some of the responsibility, knowing that there will be times when neither she or Kim will be home.

Feeling depressed over his situation, Patrick turns to the bottle for comfort, and the Fox sisters are shocked to find him drunk in the kitchen when they return to the B&B one evening.

Denise urges Patrick to sit down and take things easy, but he angrily pushes her away in his drunken state - which causes an accident as she falls and cuts her face…

Dot Branning faces a frightening situation on EastEnders next week as the local council threatens her with legal action.

The Walford favourite remains in hot water after things spiralled out of control at home during her extended absence from the Square last year.

As Cora Cross failed to pay the rent and unauthorised lodgers were staying under Dot's roof, the council is seeking a full explanation of exactly what happened.

A nervous Dot (June Brown) is pleased when housemate Poppy Meadow offers to accompany her to the appointment for moral support. However, when they arrive, Poppy is ordered to wait outside while the interview takes place.

Poppy goes with Dot to the Housing Benefit Office.

Dot is expecting an informal chat, but instead her interview is recorded with a warning that whatever she says could be used as evidence in court.

Unfortunately for Dot, it seems that the matter isn't over as the presence of unauthorised lodgers could mean that she has committed Housing Benefit fraud. As a result, she'll have to wait to hear whether further action will be taken.

Back outside, Dot bluffs to Poppy that the meeting went well - but is she in trouble?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, February 28 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
