Hoping to break the news gently, Alfie asks Kat (Jessie Wallace) to come to the Queen Vic that evening so they can talk.

Kat wonders what it could be about, and when Bianca suggests that Alfie still cares for her, Kat dares to hope that they could still have a chance as a couple.

This optimism doesn't last long, however, as Kat is stunned when she meets up with Alfie and he explains that he wants to end their marriage.

Over on EastEnders, Kat Moon turns to Michael for comfort after learning that Alfie wants to divorce her.

Kat (Jessie Wallace) is distraught later this month as Alfie explains that he's decided to end their marriage, dashing any hope she had of a reunion with him.

Struggling to cope with the news, Kat ends up taking an angry and spiteful attitude towards Alfie - telling him that she'll be glad to be rid of him as he is a pathetic excuse for a man.

Kat's bad attitude also causes tension with Alfie's new girlfriend Roxy Mitchell, which escalates when the pair have a huge catfight at the Queen Vic.

As the dust settles following Kat's violent clash with Roxy, Michael steps in to take her home - and Kat is pleased when he kindly provides a shoulder to cry on.

Keen to take things further, Kat leans in to kiss Michael and it's not long before they head to bed together…

This is a first look at the moment that Kat Moon and Roxy Mitchell have a huge catfight at the Queen Vic in an upcoming EastEnders (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/) episode.

Tension between the two women boils over next week after Kat's estranged husband Alfie tells her that he wants a divorce (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/eastenders/scoop/a457552/eastenders-alfie-tells-kat-he-wants-a-divorce-first-look-pictures.html), keen to concentrate on a bright new future with Roxy.

When a heartbroken Kat (Jessie Wallace (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/celebrities/jessie-wallace/)) arrives at The Vic to pick Tommy up the next day, she tries to be civil for the sake of her young son. However, it's not long before she finds herself in an argument with Roxy (Rita Simons).

Kat is the first to resort to violence, slapping Roxy as she loses her temper. Roxy lets it go, but when a furious Kat does it a second time, a full-on fight ensues…

Monday
Roxy tells Alfie that the solicitor has called about making arrangements for his divorce. She questions whether he still wants this, and Alfie assures her that he does. Jean overhears the pair's conversation, so Alfie decides to tell her what he is planning, while Roxy also soon lets the divorce news slip in a conversation with Michael. As Kat drops Tommy off, Alfie arranges to meet her later to talk, leaving her wondering what it's all about. When Bianca hears about Alfie's strange request, she is convinced that Alfie still loves Kat and wants to give their relationship another go.

Later, Kat arrives for her meeting with Alfie feeling optimistic after being spurred on by Bianca, but her mood changes when Alfie explains that he wants a divorce. A shocked Kat insists that they could still make things work, but Alfie explains that he can no longer trust her. Heartbroken, Kat heads downstairs and it soon becomes apparent to her that Jean, Roxy and Michael all knew about the divorce before she did.

Kat tells Alfie they could still have a future together.
Kat's sadness quickly turns to anger over how Alfie has handled this situation, and she brands him a coward in front of everyone. Taking things further, Kat adds that the divorce news is a relief as he is a pathetic excuse for a man and she's glad to be rid of him. Alfie then loses patience himself and tells Kat that he doesn't love her anymore…

Meanwhile, Denise is upset as Patrick tells her that he'll be moving to Scotland to live with his son Anthony, who'll be taking care of him following his accident. In private, Dot advises Patrick to stop being so proud and just tell Denise and Kim that he actually wants to stay with them, but Patrick doesn't want to be a burden. Later at the hospital, Denise and Kim say their goodbyes to Patrick, but Dot intervenes by explaining the truth of the situation. Patrick is thrilled when he realises that Denise and Kim want to look after him at home after all.

Elsewhere, Lola is annoyed when she sees Phil in the café, realising that he and Lexi have been back for a few days and he hasn't bothered to tell her. Later, Phil has a meeting with the social worker Trish, who comments on what a positive improvement Lola has made. Trish thinks that Lola is on the right track to getting Lexi back, but Phil doesn't seem pleased to hear that he could lose his granddaughter.

Also today, Kirsty gets annoyed with Max but quickly makes peace with him as she's determined to prove she's not like Tanya, while Whitney makes a good impression on her first day at the community centre with Ava as her boss.

Tuesday

Kat fails to turn up for work on the market stall following her argument with Alfie last night. However, she eventually decides to pull herself together and arrives at the stall full of the old Slater magic.

Roxy and Kat fight.
Later, Kat goes to collect Tommy from the pub, but fresh tension erupts when Alfie suggests keeping the youngster in bed upstairs as he hasn't been well, which Kat doesn't agree with. The situation escalates when Roxy gets involved. A spiteful Kat claims that Roxy is loving stepping into her shoes. Roxy throws back Kat's affair, which prompts Kat to lose her temper and slap her. Roxy decides to let it go, but when Kat slaps her a second time, a full-on fight ensues and the two women have to be separated.

Soon afterwards, Michael takes Kat home and is extremely kind to her. She leans in to kiss him and it's not long before he responds…

Masood follows after Carol and charms her.
Meanwhile, Masood tries to help Liam with his schoolwork in the café. He suggests to Carol that he could become Liam's tutor free of charge, as he needs something to occupy his time. Masood and Carol agree to meet in The Vic later to discuss it. Carol gets dressed up specially for the meeting, and Bianca teases her mum about it being a date. It's clear that Carol is looking forward to it, but she leaves embarrassed when she realises that Masood wasn't thinking of it as a date. However, when Masood realises what's happened, he rushes after Carol and convinces her to let him cook for her tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Lola turns up late to see Lexi so Phil refuses to let her into his house. Angry, Lola starts kicking his door, which is only playing into Phil's hands. Later, after confiding in Sharon about Phil constantly standing in her way when it comes to Lexi, Lola returns to the Mitchell house and apologises for her previous behaviour. She promises that she's going to do everything right to be a good mum, but it's obvious that Phil still isn't keen on the idea of giving Lexi back.

Also today, Patrick feels like a burden as Denise and Kim look after him.

Thursday

As Kat wakes up in Michael's bed, she has regrets about their one-night stand and is also feeling downbeat about her life in general. Over at The Vic, Alfie is clearly worrying about Kat and leaves her messages apologising for what happened last night, which doesn't go down well with Roxy. Alfie annoys Roxy further by heading out to see Kat and check if she is okay, but when he arrives at Joey's place to discover that Kat isn't there, he realises that she must have been with someone else last night. After watching Alfie from afar, Michael informs Kat that Alfie now knows she wasn't at home last night.

Later, Kat arrives at The Vic to pick up Tommy. Roxy remains frosty with her and quizzes Kat on where she was last night, implying that she was with another man. Kat tries to be civil to Alfie, but when Roxy makes another comment, Kat starts to retaliate. Kat announces that she spent last night with Michael, adding that he's a real man who could teach Alfie a thing or two. Alfie is stung by her harsh words.

The Brannings get an unexpected guest
Meanwhile, Abi pops over to see Max and Kirsty to drop off a bill. Kirsty quickly rushes to change but when she returns, Abi realises that Kirsty's skirt is tucked into her knickers. Kirsty is keen to get Max back on good terms with his daughters, and Abi ends up agreeing for the reunited couple to come to dinner tonight. That evening, the atmosphere is tense at the Branning meal but Kirsty breaks the ice by mentioning the knicker incident from earlier. It works as everyone laughs, but the mood changes when Tanya walks through the door unexpectedly…

Elsewhere, Masood looks forward to his date with Carol, but there's a spanner in the works when Ayesha returns to Albert Square unexpectedly

Friday

The atmosphere in the Brannings' is extremely strained. When alone, Max tries his best to explain the situation to Tanya, but will she be able to resist?

Meanwhile, Kat rushes out of The Vic following her outburst, with Jean going after her to make sure that she's okay. On her way home, Kat sees Michael and informs him that Alfie knows about them. Back at the pub, Roxy can see that Alfie is thinking of calling Kat, but he denies it. Later, Michael arrives at The Vic to face the music. He wants to speak to Alfie, but is thrown by Alfie's reaction…

Ayesha continues to flirt with Masood.
Elsewhere, Carol is disappointed when she arrives for her date to find that Ayesha is there. Masood apologises and says that he had no idea Ayesha was going to show up, and Carol ends up leaving. Ayesha then flirts with Masood despite him telling her that she cannot stay. When Tamwar sees the whole thing, he presumes this had something to do with Zainab leaving. Masood tries to give Ayesha her marching orders again, but when she finally leaves, he heads after her. Ayesha explains that she's only going as far as the B&B.

Also today, Patrick assures Denise and Kim that he'll be fine alone for a few hours if they want to go out, but he struggles on his own and falls out of his wheelchair.

This is the moment that EastEnders' Tanya Cross arrives back on Albert Square and sees that Max has moved on in her three-week absence.

Max (Jake Wood) has been living at the B&B with Kirsty in recent days, while his daughters Lauren and Abi have been keeping their distance from him following his split from Tanya.

When Tanya (Jo Joyner) returns home to Walford, however, it's just as Max and Kirsty have finally managed to make some progress with the rest of the family.

Abi agrees that the reunited couple can come for dinner at the Branning house, and although the atmosphere is extremely awkward at first, it's not long before fun-loving Kirsty (Kierston Wareing) finds a way to break the ice.

With all parties suddenly getting on better, the first thing Tanya sees when she walks through the door is everyone laughing and joking together.

Ayesha Rana hopes for another chance to win Masood Ahmed's heart as she arrives back on screen in EastEnders next week.

Viewers recently saw Ayesha bid farewell to Albert Square after telling Zainab that she was in love with Masood. However, an upcoming episode sees her return to Walford, realising that she has a new opportunity to make her move now that Zainab and Masood have split.

Once again, Ayesha's presence causes problems, as her arrival comes just as Masood (Nitin Ganatra) is planning to have a date with Carol Jackson (Lindsey Coulson) following days of chemistry between the pair.
