Wanting to keep their exciting news to themselves, Whitney is annoyed when she learns that Tyler has told Alfie but will Tyler be able to stop the news spreading?

Coming up on EastEnders, Joey Branning's angry side rears its ugly head again as he loses his temper with Michael Moon.

Joey (David Witts) isn't pleased when his sister Alice starts working as a nanny for Michael (Steve John Shepherd) after being made redundant at work, as he can't help but be suspicious over Michael's intentions.

When Joey later discovers an expensive pair of earrings in Alice's handbag, he assumes that Michael has bought them and heads over to confront him. However, rather than denying anything, a mischievous Michael seems to enjoy winding Joey up.

As Alice (Jasmyn Banks) arrives to a heated scene, Joey declares that Michael is trying to take advantage of her and had an ulterior motive for buying the earrings.

Alice is quick to explain that she actually bought the earrings herself, which leaves Joey embarrassed. However, when Michael continues to revel in the situation, Joey snaps and punches him…

Monday

Zainab isn't in a good mood as her beloved water feature wasn't ready in time for the Imam's visit. Feeling guilty for not turning up for the important meeting with the Imam, Masood tries to make amends by promising to have the water feature ready by 4pm. Zainab then invites a number of the neighbours to the grand turn-on, keen to re-establish her place in the community. However, there are a number of raised eyebrows over Zainab's high opinion of herself as she spreads the word.

Later, a few people gather to see the water feature in all its glory, but Zainab pushes Masood aside to seize the big moment for herself. However, as she tells Masood to turn on the water, she is horrified to see it start spurting pink bubbles. Zainab quickly realises that Bianca's kids are responsible as she saw them hanging around the water feature earlier. She storms round to Bianca's house to complain, but Masood is forced to intervene and take her home when she loses her temper.

Back at the Masood house, an angry Masood complains that everything is always about Zainab rather than them as a couple. When Zainab still fails to listen to him properly, Masood storms outside and starts attacking the water feature with a shovel - asking Zainab if she has any idea why he didn't turn up for the meeting with the Imam…

Meanwhile, Max is back on the Square but is avoiding his daughters as he doesn't want them to see his bruised face. However, Lauren spots that Max is back and shares the news with Abi. When Abi learns that Max is staying at the B&B, she heads up to her father's room - but she's in for a shock when Kirsty opens the door and her father is in Kirsty's bed…

Elsewhere, Lucy is clearly troubled and tries to confide in her friends, but they all seem distracted by other things. Later, Denise realises that something isn't right and is shocked when Lucy reveals that she has found a lump in her breast.

Also today, Jay and Dexter challenge AJ to a game of poker to help raise funds for Abi to go on an important school project, Joey worries that Michael is taking advantage of his sister but Alice tells him to mind his own business, while Bianca and Carol aren't happy to learn of Whitney and Tyler's engagement when Alfie blurts out the couple's news.

Tuesday

Zainab is in shock over Masood's anger after he demolished her precious water feature. She storms back into the house, while Masood heads over to The Vic with AJ for time to think. At the Masood house, Zainab complains about her partner's erratic behaviour, but Ayesha defends Masood by giving Zainab some home truths about the way she treats him. Ayesha then confesses that she is in love with Masood, and while nothing has actually happened between them, she has seen the way Masood looks at her. Deep down, Zainab knows there might be some truth in what Ayesha is saying, and she is left wondering about her relationship.

Following this frank discussion, Zainab tells Ayesha that she should leave the family home. She doesn't mean straight away, but Ayesha has no wish to stay any longer and leaves Walford in a cab. Soon afterwards, Masood returns home, having been encouraged by AJ to try to fix things with Zainab. Tensions remain high, however, and Masood realises that it must have something to do with Ayesha's sudden departure. Zainab accusingly points out that she knows, and although she doesn't elaborate further, it's clear that her heart is breaking…

Meanwhile, Abi storms home after finding Max in a compromising position with Kirsty. When Max follows her, a big argument follows at the Branning house, and Lauren joins in after hearing the commotion. As Abi storms to her room, Lauren criticises her dad for falling back into the arms of Kirsty. Lauren asks if Max loves Kirsty but he hesitates to provide an answer. Soon afterwards, Lauren and Abi kick Max out of the house, leaving him devastated.

Elsewhere, when Joey finds an expensive pair of earrings in Alice's handbag, he isn't pleased as he thinks that Michael has bought them. When Joey confronts Michael, Alice is quick to point out that she bought them herself. However, a mischievous Michael is enjoying winding Joey up and revels in the row. Joey loses his temper and hits Michael, but this just gives Michael more ammunition as he points out that Joey is just like his father. Soon afterwards, Michael tells Alice that she is fired.

Also today, Bianca tells Whitney that she is far too young to get married and is throwing her life away, Tyler presents Whitney with an engagement ring to prove how serious he is about their future, while Denise makes a doctor's appointment for Lucy and promises to support her on the day by going with her.

Thursday

The atmosphere remains tense at the Masood household. Realising that the problems between Masood and Zainab are serious, Tamwar and AJ decide to give them some space. Zainab announces that she wants to clear out the kitchen and start afresh, before sorting out the rest of the house too. However, as Zainab and Masood carry out this task together, it becomes clear that their issues run much deeper than they first thought. Zainab suggests a role reversal exercise that couples do to see problems from the other person's perspective, but this just results in some spiteful home truths being exchanged between the pair.

Later, Zainab clearly wants to avoid the obvious - that her relationship with Masood might be beyond repair. Masood tells Zainab that it doesn't look as though there is a future for them together, but Zainab remains defiant - not wanting to face the truth.

Meanwhile, avoiding the situation at home, AJ finds himself in The Vic and informs Alfie that it might be the end for Masood and Zainab. Alfie encourages him to go home and support Masood, but AJ continues to drink instead. Later, Roxy sees that AJ is in a drunken state, so she joins forces with Kat and Bianca to drag him home. They all worry about how Zainab might react, but are surprised by her subdued reaction.

Elsewhere, Tamwar turns up to see Fatboy as he seeks a distraction of his own. Fatboy does his best to reassure Tamwar that Zainab and Masood will be okay, but Tamwar can't help but worry that his parents are about to split up. Following some words of encouragement from Dot, Tamwar heads home with Kamil just as Zainab and Masood realise their relationship is over.

Also today, Tyler and Whitney share their engagement news with their friends and later celebrate in The Vic, despite Bianca's continued disapproval.

Friday

Zainab's final episode

Zainab is broken following recent events, but as she talks to Masood, she still thinks there is hope for their relationship. However, Masood doesn't agree and calls time on their life together.

Meanwhile, Tamwar heads out to Whitney and Tyler's engagement celebration to give his parents some space. At the party, both Tamwar and Lucy have their minds on other problems and while talking, Lucy blurts out her current health fears.

At the same time, Dot joins in with the fun at the engagement party, but Whitney is disheartened that Bianca and Carol haven't shown up. Over at the Butcher house, Carol encourages Bianca to go to The Vic with her and support the happy couple. Will Bianca go?

Some storyline details have been held back for this episode.

EastEnders couple Tyler Moon and Whitney Dean remain strong and united next week as their engagement news gets a mixed reaction.

Tyler (Tony Discipline) proposes to Whitney this Friday (February 1) following a short-lived split for the pair, realising that he can't live without his girlfriend despite her illicit kiss with Joey Branning.

Although the duo initially resolve to keep the engagement under wraps, Tyler can't resist telling Alfie the truth. This proves to be a mistake as Alfie soon blurts out the news at The Vic in front of Bianca and Carol!

Whitney (Shona McGarty) is forced to apologise for the way her family found out, but Bianca (Patsy Palmer) is far more concerned about her getting married too young and throwing her life away.

Tyler walks in on their row and hears Bianca's strong negative reaction, which only makes him more determined to prove his commitment to Whitney.

Later, Tyler presents Whitney with an engagement ring, leaving her delighted as he explains that he wants to show just how serious he is about their future as a couple.

Despite Bianca's disapproval, Tyler and Whitney then start to spread their news further and gather with their friends to celebrate at The Vic.

When Bianca hears about the engagement drinks, will she relent and join in, or continue refusing to support the couple?

EastEnders airs these scenes all next week on BBC One.

EastEnders ' Zainab Masood is in for a shock this evening (February 5) as she learns of Ayesha Rana's feelings for Masood.

Zainab (Nina Wadia) is already reeling after Masood destroyed her precious water feature in a rage, but the biggest surprise is yet to come as Ayesha reacts very strongly to the incident.

Confronting Zainab while they're home alone, Ayesha (Shivani Ghai) rebukes her for her attitude towards Masood - claiming that she treats him terribly and doesn't know how lucky she is.

Causing even more trouble, Ayesha declares that she's in love with Masood and knows he has feelings for her too. Will Zainab believe her claims?

EastEnders star Nitin Ganatra has revealed that his character Masood Ahmed will be "put on the spot" when Ayesha Rana returns to Walford.

Ayesha departed Albert Square earlier this week, but viewers have not seen the last of her as she arrives back on February 21 and makes another attempt to woo Masood.

Speaking on This Morning today (February 8), Ganatra kept tight-lipped over how Masood will respond to Ayesha's latest advances.

Ganatra teased: "I think she will return and put Masood on the spot again. She may even offer herself up again. What's a man to do?"

He continued: "I get a lot of pats on the back at the moment from the guys, and a lot of, 'So? Will you, won't you?'"

Ayesha's return will come after Masood's long-time partner Zainab (Nina Wadia) has left Walford for good.

The pair's 30-year relationship has hit crisis point this week, and tonight's episode sees Zainab make her final appearance on the Square.

Ganatra said: "It's been really beautifully written. They're very well-crafted episodes, and they've been directed beautifully as well. For Nina and I, it was a real joy, because you could actually breathe in a scene. In last night's episodes, there were moments of silence."

He added: "It was very emotional doing those. Nina and I have known each other for a very, very long time. We've been playing husband and wife for five years and we have a really good rapport.

"We have shortcuts, and we're very quick at throwing ideas at each other. So these scenes were really emotional for everyone."

EastEnders airs Zainab's final episode tonight (February 8) at 8pm on BBC One.
