Coronation Street character Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) will soon be concerned for her adoptive daughter Faye in an upcoming plot.

Details of the forthcoming storyline featuring Faye (Ellie Leach) making contact with her biological father Tim have been revealed by Inside Soap.

Corrie producer Phil Collinson previously told Digital Spy that Faye's biological dad would arrive, saying that he was "going to come along and challenge things for Anna".

Faye will reportedly make contact with Tim online, leading a shocked Anna to worry that she may lose her daughter.

"Anna is very hurt that Faye has been secretly contacting her biological dad," a show source said. "She wants a fresh start for Faye that doesn't include Tim, and puts her foot down."

However, despite Anna warning Tim to leave them alone, Faye demands to have her father in her life.

The scenes in question will air in the New Year on ITV1.

Coronation Street's Owen Armstrong will reportedly beat up the real father of Anna's adopted daughter in a new storyline.

The Weatherfield builder's actions leave partner Anna furious, according to the Daily Star.

The Windass matriarch threatens Owen that she will end their relationship if his violent behaviour continues.

Anna apparently tells Owen: "We could lose her, your behaviour has jeopardised the adoption. This is a really difficult situation.

"One more outburst like today and me and you are finished. If it's a choice between you and Faye, she wins hands down."

However, Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) will plead that he was trying to protect Faye, but Anna disagrees.

This is not the first time Owen's violent streak has landed him in trouble, as Anna dumped him after he smacked Faye.

Tim Metcalfe will first be seen on screens in Monday's Corrie double bill when Faye goes to meet her dad. He will make his first steps on the cobbles later in the week.

Coronation Street's Anna Windass will show particular disdain towards the father of adopted daughter Faye.

Tim Metcalfe meets up with Faye in tonight's (January 21) double bill of the ITV soap, before Anna and partner Owen discover his identity later in the week.

Debbie Rush, who plays Anna, believes that fans should root for Faye during the upcoming plot.

She told ITV.com: "She's not happy at all, at first not because she feels she's being pushed out, more the fact that she's very concerned because Faye was in a very abusive household and her mum was a heroin addict.

"We did try and portray that poor Faye had a rotten time growing up when we had the slap storyline, and hopefully within this storyline people will see that Faye had a troubled start to her life so I want the public really to be on her side a little bit."

"Anna doesn't like Tim, not in the slightest," she further teased. "She thinks he's a no-hoper. He left Faye to rot with her heroin-addict mother and obviously then Faye went into care."

Last week, a report claimed that Owen Armstrong would violently attack Tim, jeopardising Anna's fostering of Faye.

Details first emerged concerning the arrival of Faye's biological dad last month.

Coronation Street fans have criticised the ITV soap for recycling actors in different roles.

Joe Duttine arrived on the soap as Tim Metcalfe last week, the biological father of adopted 12-year-old Faye Windass.

However, the actor previously played detective Max Carr for several months in 2010, who was involved in the plot surrounding Gail McIntyre being accused of murdering husband Joe.

The new role saw some viewers take to Twitter after noticing the familiar face.

Amanda Pickering tweeted: "Do the producers think we'll have forgotten last time Joe Duttine was in #corrie he played a policeman?"

Angela Francis added: "#Coronation Street seems to be reusing its bank of actors over and over again. #TimMetcalfe."

Mrs McIntosh posted: "You'd think they'd credit the audience with a bit more savvy."

A Coronation Street spokesman told The Sun: "Joe is a talented actor who brings something completely different to the role of Tim Metcalfe than he did to his previous role."

Coronation Street star Debbie Rush has warned that her character Anna Windass's troubles with Tim Metcalfe might not be ending anytime soon.

Anna has opposed Tim, who is the father of her adopted daughter Faye, ever since he arrived in Weatherfield earlier this year.

This week's episodes see the story come to a head as Anna insists that Faye is moving back in with her.

The café worker gets tough after discovering that Faye has been left home alone while Tim is away on a work trip.

However, hinting that Tim might not disappear from Faye's life, Rush told itv.com: "It never goes right for Anna - nothing ever goes right for her! Things are going to kick off big style, and we'll see more to come of the vile, horrible Tim. I don't like him!"

I'm still not sure about the while Tim thing, he doesn't seem like a bad person, just a bit dim. He doesn't have a lot of experience and is kinda naive just believing everything Faye says, but it's not like he doesn't care.

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has admitted that her character Sally Webster will struggle to change the ways of her new love interest Tim Metcalfe.

Sally decides to pursue a relationship with Tim (Joe Duttine) later this week, having struck up a bond with him in recent episodes.

Viewers will see that although Sally is keen on Tim, she would like him to make some improvements to his lifestyle.

Dynevor told ITV's Daybreak today (August 13): "He's a bit of a commitment-phobe so I'm not sure [what will happen], but he's nice and Sally really likes him.

"She's trying to change him - manipulate him into what she wants! But he's not having it and he wants to go off down the pub, and doesn't want to spend any romantic weekends with her or anything. He's a real bloke - he wants his tea on the table!"

On Sally's lack of success with men, she added: "She's desperate now. She'd do anything to get Tim to commit to her, but he's not interested. Well he is, he likes her. We'll see what happens!"

Dynevor also said that she would love Helen Flanagan to reprise her role as Sally's eldest daughter Rosie.

She explained: "I'd love her to come back because Rosie is such a fantastic character. I do miss that dimension in the Websters, because she's such fun. Who knows? I don't know what's going to happen, but it would be lovely if she did."

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has said that her character Sally Webster's relationship with Tim Metcalfe won't end happily.

Sally is delighted next week after spending the night with Tim and asks him to accompany her to Stella and Karl's wedding. However, she is left upset when he doesn't show up.

Dynevor said: "I didn't really want Sally to find someone at first, but I like this relationship because she's not found 'Mr Perfect'. All the other men Sally's been with, I could easily have seen her having long term relationships with them.

"With Tim, you know there's no way they're going to live happily ever after, they're going to drive each other insane. I like the drama that has to offer."

Speaking about the reasons behind Tim not showing up at the wedding, Dynevor said: "He is a bit freaked by it and is probably thinking he doesn't want the commitment or to be tied down.

"He says he'll go, but doesn't turn up, and this is the start of a pattern with Tim. He's too weak to say no in the first place and then gets swept along and lets her down.

"She's really upset when he stands her up and she ends up taking a day off work saying she's got a migraine."

Viewers will then see Tim attempt to make amends with Sally by buying her a bunch of flowers.

"Sophie tells her she needs to get over Tim, but when there's a knock at the door and Tim's left a bunch of carnations for her, that's all it takes, she's well made up," Dynevor explained.

"Sophie can't believe she's thinking of taking him back, but Sally says she's going to go slowly this time and not jump in feet first. But of course they go out for the night and she does.

"She's very excited and just over the moon with the relationship. The internet dating was a bit of a disaster so she's just happy to have found someone."

Coronation Street star Jim Duttine has said that his character Tim Metcalfe doesn't want to get serious with Sally Webster.

Viewers will see Sally (Sally Dynevor) left upset this week when Tim stands her up at Karl and Stella's wedding.

Duttine said: "He doesn't feel bad about standing her up at all. Tim simply doesn't want to get serious with Sally and he is very wary of doing that at this stage.

"Sally's really nice and he definitely does like her. I think he's hanging onto his eternal youth a little bit – he's still scared of growing up.

After winning her round with a bunch of flowers, Sally insists that she doesn't mind keeping things casual. However, she goes in to overdrive next week when Tim mentions them going away for a weekend.

Duttine said: "He likes the idea of a weekend away, but doesn't want to go anywhere as far or expensive as Paris. He was thinking more along the lines of a bag of chips on the pier, a couple of pints in the pub and back to the B+B.

"As soon as he suggests a break away to Sally though, she gets a bit too keen which freaks him out. He bottles out of the idea and tries to dip out of the relationship a bit by hiding in his flat, pretending he's working away… much to Jason's amusement!

"I do think he's a commitment-phobe who tries not to think about the future too much. He's just living for the moment."

Dynevor recently said that Sally and Tim's relationship will not end happily.

Anna Windass pledges her support to Tim Metcalfe next week after he confides in her about his reading difficulties.

Tim is forced to be honest with Anna (Debbie Rush) after he lands himself in a tricky situation which could expose his secret.

Anna's involvement in the story begins when she and Tim attend parents' evening together and are pleased to hear about the positive progress that Faye is making at school.

Caught up in the moment, Tim also makes the mistake of agreeing to run the school's Christmas auction, which will involve reading from a script.

Once they are alone, Tim tells Anna that he is illiterate and needs to find a way to get out of the auction.

Coronation Street's Joe Duttine has revealed that viewers will be surprised by his character Tim Metcalfe after his daughter Faye Windass gives birth next week.

Faye (Ellie Leach) has been keeping her family in the dark ever since she discovered she was pregnant, but realises that she needs their support when she goes into labour early.

Speaking about the storyline on Good Morning Britain today (March 24), Duttine said: "Well Tim's not really equipped to deal with serious issues!

"So grilling Craig to find the truth is a real challenge for him and hopefully he'll think that the girls will take over and do it for him, and take all the responsibility away.

"I think you'll be surprised actually, because he doesn't get wrapped up in the whole drama of it all. New babies bring love and he just falls in love with this baby straight away, so he doesn't get wrapped up in all the politics that go with it - he just accepts that it's an issue that he has to deal with and gets on with it."

Coronation Street airs Faye's birth on Wednesday, April 1 and Friday, April 3 on ITV.

The Sun reports that Tim will be delighted when Sally accepts his proposal and the pair soon set about making preparations to ensure it is an occasion to remember.

The couple's big day is set to be one of the biggest of the year, with Sally determined that it will be the topic of conversation for weeks to come.

Sally's former husband Kevin will also reportedly back her happy news, despite teasing Tim that he should have been asked permission first.

Sally has been in a relationship with Tim since last year. They have faced a turbulent time in recent months after Tim's 13-year old daughter Faye gave birth and Maddie Heath tragically died.

Tim lashes out over Kevin
Tim Metcalfe lashes out at his wife-to-be in next week’s Coronation Street over her obsession with her ex.
Kevin Webster might be one of Tim’s closest mates on the cobbles but he’s starting to come between him and Sally.
While she happily accepted Tim’s marriage proposal, the window cleaner can’t help feeling second best to the mechanic.
His nose is put out of joint when Kevin lands him a potential new job cleaning the windows of a local car dealership.
When Tim fails to show up to his meeting, Sally’s furious and heads to the Rovers where she finds him drinking.
Thoroughly annoyed, she drags him home where she rows with him over his lack of ambition. But how will Sally react when Tim admits he’s fed up of being compared to Kevin? And could this be the reason she ends up kissing Kevin?

Good news for us Tim and Sally fans. Joe Duttine doesn't think Tim's the type of character who'd cheat, and also doesn't think "we need to see everybody having it off with each other just to get good drama!". Joe sounds very sensible! :D

Coronation Street star Joe Duttine has insisted that his character Tim Metcalfe shouldn't turn nasty when he learns about his fiancée Sally Webster's betrayal.

The ITV soap's upcoming live episode will see Tim left devastated when he finally learns of Sally's secret kiss with her ex-husband Kevin.

Tim's discovery will come just one week before he is due to marry Sally, leaving fans to wonder whether their plans for a happy ceremony will be scrapped with just days to go.

Speaking about the fallout for the first time, Duttine revealed: "I think Tim will be heartbroken when he finds out the truth. It's definitely not going to be plain sailing.

"As for whether Tim will punch Kevin, I don't think Tim's the fighting type. I've not seen a stunt arranger around on set for a bit, so I don't think that's going to happen!

"I don't really want to see Tim become aggressive or become a player either. I just think that he's a decent bloke who likes his creature comforts and a simple life."

Sally's jibes backfire when Tim suggests they postpone the wedding for a few years

Duttine also doesn't want Tim to seek solace in the arms of Anna Windass, who is the adoptive mother of his teenage daughter Faye.

He said: "I think there are other characters in the show who could be promiscuous and commit adultery, but I don't think Tim's the type to do that.

"I think Tim and Anna are good friends and it's nice to have friends in the show. I don't think we need to see everybody having it off with each other just to get good drama!"

Tim was introduced to the cobbles as a possible villainous character in January 2013, but the show's writers later delved into his softer side when they decided to pair him up with Sally.

Tim's attempt to surprise Sally's with a holiday to Wales falls flat when she point blank refuses to take time off work at such short notice

Tim has been on a journey since his debut in 2013

Reflecting on the transformation, Duttine explained: "I think when you come into the soap, the writers find out what they want to do with you - and they can change you. They clearly did that with Tim. It felt like I was going to be the new bad guy, but when they put him with Sally, his characteristics changed and it was difficult for her to dislike him!

"We've now got the live episode coming up. When they asked if I'd be involved, I said that I was up for it because I've never done live television before. It's one to tick off, isn't it? I'm quite excited about it.

"I'm going to do some kind of routine beforehand and make sure I go to bed early every night for a week beforehand. I won't drink and won't eat certain foods, like I'm preparing for some sort of triathlon!"

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe will give his wife Sally some overdue home truths next week as their marriage falls under further strain.

Sally's tiresome political agenda has driven a wedge between the comical couple in recent months, but it's her snobbish ways that finally push Tim over the edge.

Tim (Joe Duttine) will delight Sally by announcing that he has booked a surprise mini-break for them, but she struggles to hide her disappointment when she discovers the location.

As Jenny correctly guesses the pair are headed to Blackpool - after some cryptic clues from Tim - Sally is gutted and soon becomes the victim of some gentle teasing from the other factory workers.

However, Sally's reaction to Tim's gesture does not go down well, and she pays the price after she is arrested along with the rest of Carla's hen party crew.

While all the hens are greeted by their other halves at the police station, Sally is left alone when Tim fails to turn up.

Making her feelings clear, Sally later rails at Tim for failing to come to her rescue, but he turns the tables and calls her a snob for her attitude towards their mini-break.

Tim goes on to explain that he booked the trip to Blackpool in the hope that they could rebuild their fractured relationship, but will Sally be able to see the error of her ways before it's too late?

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe turns violent later this year, after a troublesome newcomer tries to ruin his wife Sally's reputation.

Joe Duttine has been pictured filming on location for dramatic scenes which see his character Tim lashing out at new arrival Duncan (Nicholas Gleaves).

A dramatic new storyline for the Metcalfes will see Duncan spread rumours that Sally (Sally Dynevor) has been having an affair with him.

It seems that Duncan has a malicious reason for wanting to destroy Sally's reputation, and the resulting scandal is sure to have implications for her position as the local mayor.

When Sally confides in Tim about the nasty rumours that are being spread about her, they decide to seek out Duncan for a showdown.

As Tim confronts his supposed "love rival" with Sally by his side, Duncan sticks to his bogus story by claiming that Sally has been unfaithful with him.

A livid Tim then decides to let his fists do the talking, thumping Duncan as punishment for his lies.

A source commented: "The reasons why Duncan wants to ruin Sally's reputation will become clearer in a few weeks, but it looks like someone in Weatherfield Town Hall wants to get rid of Sally."

As Corrie films its scenes six to eight weeks in advance, fans can expect to see this storyline later in the summer.

Coronation Street kicks off a new money mystery for Tim Metcalfe next week
What's going on?

Coronation Street will kick off a new mystery for Tim Metcalfe next week when he gets a shock windfall of money.

Tim will be left confused when he discovers a thousand pounds has been deposited into his bank account and has no idea where it's come from.

As Tim ponders over what to do with the unexplained cash, his step-daughter Sophie suggests that he puts it into a fund for her brother Jack.

The Webster family have been thrown into turmoil this month after Kevin's young son Jack was diagnosed with sepsis and had his foot amputated.

Fans will have to wait and see what Tim decides to do with the money, but the big question is: where it has come from? And why?

However, we do know that Tim's wife Sally was recently conned out of council funding by newcomer Duncan Radfield.

Duncan (Nicholas Gleaves) persuaded Sally to give him the mayoral grant for his charity, explaining that he'd set it up as a tribute to his late wife.

Unfortunately, this was all much part of a wider plan of Duncan's, and poor Sally later realised she'd been tricked out of £40,000.

Whether Tim's upcoming windfall has anything to do with the conman remains to be seen, but if it is, what is Duncan up to now?

Coronation Street films affair scenes as Tim gets arrested while sneaking around with Gina
What would Sally say?

Coronation Street's Tim Metcalfe and Gina Seddon look set to commit the ultimate betrayal by having an affair behind Sally's back.

Joe Duttine and Connie Hyde, who play Tim and Gina, have been spotted filming on location for scenes which see their shock secret come under threat.

In an episode due to air later this year, Tim rushes off to help Gina when she gets herself into some trouble, but they accidentally attract police attention.

Having pulled up at the scene in his cab, Tim gets confronted by the police and there's a worrying outcome when he fails a breathalyser test.

As Tim is arrested and hauled away by the police officer, Gina realises that there could be even worse consequences to come.

Could Tim's reckless decision to drink-drive to help Gina expose deeper feelings for her? If so, will they find it difficult to explain this unfortunate incident?

In recent weeks, there have been various hints on screen suggesting that Gina is harbouring feelings for her sister's husband.

So far there have been no signs of these being reciprocated, but it seems that the pressure of Sally's legal battles could drive Tim to start making some terrible mistakes later this year.

Corrie fans can expect to see these scenes in November.

Sally Metcalfe could be set for a Christmas miracle as her husband Tim is on the case this winter to try and expose con man Duncan’s lies and get her freed from prison in time for the Queen’s speech in Coronation Street. Viewers were horrified to see Sally locked up as Duncan continues to claim that they were having an affair and she was coercing him into defrauding the council. Sally protests her innocence and has lawyer pal Paula Martin on the case but Duncan is wily. As Sally’s trial approaches towards the end of the year, Tim knows that he needs to get to the truth – and time is limited. Actors Joe Duttine and Nicholas Gleaves, who play Tim and Duncan respectively, have been filming a fierce showdown. Tim headed to Duncan’s house to have it out with him – but does he have new evidence? Duncan wants rid of Tim but he isn’t going anywhere and a tussle breaks out on the doorstep before Tim lets himself in along with Gina Seddon, Sally’s sister. Whether or not Tim manages to expose the truth about Duncan remains to be seen but viewers are hopeful for a reunion for Sally and her family in time for the Christmas festivities. Duncan is smug as Tim tries to help Sally. Speaking about the Christmas storylines this year, Iain MacLeod, the show’s producer, enthused: ‘Well, the seeds of the stories for Christmas are planted in the big episodes in October, without giving too much away. I wanted it to be a Christmassy Christmas, obviously there’s a history in soap of trying to go and do the Angie and Den Christmas where it’s all acrimony and divorce papers and vitriol. Connie Hyde (Gina) also braved the rain ‘That’s not really my preference, when you sit down as you try and digest your stuffing balls and sprouts, you need it to be warm and light-hearted in places and you need it to reek of Christmas. ‘So, it’ll be a Christmassy Christmas, it’ll have some big, heartbreaking stories within that, it’ll have a big shock at the end and hopefully it’ll be a surprising pay off to those stories that you’ve just seen the inception of here.’

Coronation Street star Joe Duttine has spoken about his shocking Christmas Day storyline for the first time.

The actor's character Tim Metcalfe will be taking centre stage in the show's hour-long festive episode this year, as he heads to the prison visiting room and tells his wife Sally that he's cheated on her.

Tim makes a devastating mistake just before Christmas, as he makes a move on his sister-in-law Gina Seddon (Connie Hyde) after a drunken festive party.

When Tim wakes up the next morning, he can't remember what happened – but his daughter Faye is quick to let him know that she spotted him in bed with Gina.

The cabbie massively regrets his actions and decides that honesty is the best policy, so he visits Sally on Christmas Day and comes clean.

Discussing the big festive storyline, Joe explained: "Tim is utterly devastated that he has done something like this. He can't believe it. There will be a lovely little scene with Faye where he breaks down about it.

"The thing about Sally and Tim is that they're monogamous – they love each other and are loyal to each other. They don't go off and have affairs – there are other things they can do with those characters. So he's utterly devastated to think that he has cheated on his wife, as mad as she is!"

Joe continued: "Sophie finds out what happened and she's really not happy with Tim – not happy at all.

"Tim then goes to see his wife in prison on Christmas Day, so you have to suspend belief a bit because I don't know if you can do that! But he can't keep a lie, so he just throws caution to the wind and goes to tell her on Christmas Day.

"I don't think Tim expects Sally to forgive him. It's pretty unforgivable, isn't it? I think Tim just feels that he owes Sally the truth. In reality, I don't know how a family would overcome a man sleeping with his wife's sister."

However, asked whether Tim really has gone all the way by sleeping with Gina, Joe teased: "We don't know..."

Fans can also expect a tense Christmas dinner for the Metcalfes, especially as Duncan Radfield has thrown another spanner in the works by telling Sophie that Gina is in love with Tim.

When Sophie brings this up during the family gathering, Gina has to come clean about her secret meetings with Duncan and the extent of her feelings for Tim.

Joe added: "It's a very eventful Christmas Day in the Metcalfe house, so I think it's going to be good viewing. It's not the happiest house on Christmas Day."

Coronation Street is lining up a shocking twist in Sally Metcalfe's story as schemer Duncan Radfield is run over during a showdown with Tim.

Sally (Sally Dynevor) has been sent to prison after being found guilty at her fraud trial, but her husband Tim Metcalfe has vowed to get her home as soon as possible.

Having finally realised that Sally has been innocent all along, Tim is even more hellbent on getting her out of prison in the New Year – especially after learning that she's been beaten up by troublesome inmate Marcia.

Surprisingly, Gina is also doing the right thing by this point as well, as she begs Imran Habeeb to help her nail Duncan once and for all.

When Imran summons Duncan to his office, Gina breaks into his flat and desperately tries to find the evidence she needs.

As Gina continues to spy on Duncan, she makes an incriminating discovery when she follows him to a phone box – leaving both her and Tim confident that this will be enough to expose him.

However, Tim is left even more frustrated when the police inform him that this still isn't enough to exonerate Sally, explaining that they need an actual confession from Duncan to get her out of prison.

In a last-ditch attempt to get information on Duncan, Tim and Sophie decide to contact his daughter Olivia and soon learn that she could be the villain's weak spot.

Seeing how much Olivia's involvement has rattled Duncan, Tim decides to keep using this tactic to force a confession out of him.

However, when things turn violent, Duncan tries to flee but ends up getting hit by a car when Tim catches up and lunges at him. Has Tim just made Sally's situation worse?

Well, I gues we'll have to see exactly what the evidence is that Gina finds, but that is complete nonsense for the police to say that no matter what the evidence is only a confession will do......Oooops, sorry, I forgot, this is Weatherfield!

Coronation Street is lining up another big storyline for Tim Metcalfe as he's set to suffer a horrifying heart attack.

It's been a tough old year for Tim (Joe Duttine) after his wife Sally (Sally Dynevor) was wrongfully imprisoned (and later freed) after being set up for fraud, money laundering and bribery, as well as facing questions over her fidelity too.

But it doesn't look like things are about to get any better for Tim, as Coronation Street has confirmed they're working with the British Heart Foundation on an upcoming storyline regarding Tim's health.

Reports this weekend have stated that Tim Metcalfe will be left fighting for his life after suffering a health crisis, and the soap has confirmed to Digital Spy that they'll be exploring Tim's lifestyle choices as part of the storyline.

"Our research team and writers have been working with the British Heart Foundation looking at Tim's lifestyle choices and how the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise impact on his health," a Coronation Street spokesperson told us.

Senior Cardiac Nurse at the British Heart Foundation, Philippa Hobson, added: "Every three minutes in the UK, someone is rushed to hospital having had a heart attack.

"It's great to see Coronation Street raising awareness of this devastating condition, which affects so many people across the country.

"Medical research has helped us make huge strides in saving the lives of people suffering heart attacks, keeping hearts beating and blood flowing. But the disease is far from beaten, and it's still essential for us all to be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of a heart attack in ourselves and those around us."

Tim Metcalfe will suffer a health scare as his secret struggles continue in Coronation Street.

The last few months have been full of upheaval for Tim and wife Sally. First, Sally had to convince Tim it was best to get his mum Elaine out of their house and then he started having intimacy issues.

Tim has struggled with intimacy in the wake of his triple bypass surgery, where he'd initially had to stay celibate until he'd made a full recovery. Rather than open up to Sally, Tim has kept his struggles to himself.

In upcoming scenes, Tim gets a surprise when he buys raffle tickets to benefit Oliver's memory, then ends up winning a romantic night at Debbie's hotel for himself and Sally!

Tim continues to worry about intimacy, so he orders erectile dysfunction pills in spite of the risk they have for people with heart conditions.

After taking one of the pills during their night away, Tim's heart starts to pound just as he and Sally are kissing in their hotel room. Tim soon realises something is very wrong as he becomes short of breath.

Tim has no other choice but to confess what he's done to Sally, before he scares his wife with a shock collapse. Sally calls for an ambulance ? and it's a race against time to help Tim.

Will Tim be able to make a full recovery and open up to Sally, once and for all?

https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/coronation-street/a40319321/coronation-street-sally-dynevor-tim-donkey-sex-storyline/

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has revealed a hilarious plotline for on-screen husband Tim Metcalfe involving a mix-up with a woman from the Donkey Sanctuary.

Sally Metcalfe (Dynevor) and husband Tim (Joe Duttine) have been having issues in the bedroom lately following his triple bypass surgery earlier this year, with Tim struggling to perform and potential solutions not seeming to work.

Scenes next week will see Sally and Tim turn to a sex therapist upon recommendation, though Tim is initially against the idea.

Speaking about the situation, Dynevor explained: "They are a very sexual couple. They're the first people to leave a party to get home, and then since Tim's bypass, things have gone downhill for them. I think it's been really, really difficult for them.

"Now they have this situation which is really, really difficult for their relationship. Sally thinks she's doing her best and trying to encourage him and doing everything she possibly can to get them into bed.

"Now she's feeling like she's not attractive and maybe he's looking at other women and doesn't know what she is doing wrong. And she has no idea that behind her back, he is confiding in Aggie instead of talking to her."

The star explained that the communication breakdown between the two is "the biggest problem with this situation", noting: "He feels embarrassed and like he's letting her down. She feels like she can't help him.

"And actually, they just need to both talk about how they're feeling. It seems that they never sit down and talk to each other which is a shame as they're really close. They're a really loving couple. They do really love each other.

"This is the frustrating bit about it all is that if only they could sit down and talk to one another. Things would be so much easier and so much happier for them, but they are just putting all the focus on the negative."

Dynevor added that Sally is "thrilled" by the recommendation of a sex therapist, though Tim is "a little bit anxious about it because it means he's going to have to open up and he's going to have to talk in front of Sally and finds that a bit embarrassing".

"But I think Sally is so desperate to get to the bottom of this problem that she's willing to try anything and everything. Whereas Tim's just thinking, 'It's a lot of money. Is it worth it?'"

However, before the therapist arrives, Tim is caught in a comically awkward situation when Barbara from the Donkey Sanctuary arrives, with him under the impression that it is the therapist.

"When I read that, I was in hysterics just reading it," Dynevor recalled. "It was just geniously written by Ian Kershaw and I just loved it instantly. It's an amazing scene and I love the fact that we're finding comedy in something that's quite serious.

"I really enjoy playing those scenes because that's life, you do find humour in terrible things sometimes. That scene is just genius because Tim and the donkey sanctuary lady are both on a different page.

"Barbara comes knocking on the door, and he thinks it's a sex therapist ? because Sally's gone get some biscuits and she said she'll be back in a bit and that the sex therapist is coming," the star explained.

"There is a knock at the door, and Tim assumes it is the sex therapist and invites her in but she is from the Donkey Sanctuary. She starts asking him how he feels about donkeys and Tim is shocked.

"And what was wonderful about it was the actress that played the part was perfect. Every single time she did it I had to hold myself and stop laughing because she was so good.

"You know, we have the comedy but the tragedy as well coming through in each scene. It's just been probably one of my favourite storylines just because it's just such a great balance of comedy and drama."

Speaking further about the impact of the storyline, Dynevor suggested it will "definitely" open up conversations in homes.

"I think the writing team have been very clever in this because if we played the whole comedy thing alone, people would have not taken it seriously," she said. "The fact that we've done a comedy, but also the realness of this story, I just think it's really, really important.

"People watching are finding it hilarious but also recognising what Sally and Tim are going through and saying, 'Yeah, I feel like that. I don't know how to talk about that. And maybe we should think about going to see someone or maybe we should go to our doctor'.

"I like to think that Tim and Sally do make people think about what it is like at this stage of your life when the kids have gone and it is just the two of you."

I look forward to this
