so debbie wants chas to go down for a long time and not be around the village to be with cameron the real killer when will he be caught?
He will get caught when the penny drops that Carl was killed by a blow to the back of the head. Chas whacked him on the side of the head not the back. She can only be guilty of assault as the first blow was not enough to kill him. Goodness does no-one in soapland watch American Dramas.

Meanwhile, Emmerdale airs new character Vanessa Woodfield's first scenes later this month as she takes up a job at the vets' practice.
Current locum Brett Harrison loses his job when he makes the mistake of trying to kiss Rhona at work, so Rhona's plan B is to bring in Vanessa as his replacement.
Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) is an old friend of Rhona's, but Paddy is aware of her wild reputation and dreads her arrival.
An insecure Paddy (Dominic Brunt) finds himself feeling isolated as soon as Vanessa arrives, especially when she and Rhona (Zoe Henry) immediately start planning a night out.
Paddy also begins fretting about Vanessa bringing men back to the house, but is forced to apologise for his remarks when Vanessa overhears him complaining. Can Paddy and Vanessa reach an understanding, or will there be more tension ahead?
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, December 10 at 7pm on ITV1.

Does anybody else think there's going to be an affair with Paddy and Vanessa? I wouldn't be surprised
Monday
Declan brings a weak Katie home from hospital for a few hours, promising that he will do whatever it takes to make things right between them. Katie is thrown but reluctantly agrees when Declan breaks it to her that he has asked Megan to stay so he can ease up on his workload, but it means Robbie is coming back too.
Later, Gennie visits and questions how things are between Katie and Declan. Katie admits that she was going to tell Declan it was over, but she doesn't know how she feels about him now. When Katie thought she was about to die it made her realise what is important in her life and she's not sure if Declan is anymore. She's not ready to talk to him about it yet and can't figure out what to do next.
Meanwhile, Paddy is struggling to keep on top of paperwork at the vets, and Rhona reveals that she has hired a new locum, her friend Vanessa. Aware of Vanessa's wild reputation, Paddy dreads her arrival. When Vanessa turns up, Paddy already feels isolated as Rhona greets her friend.
As the day continues, Vanessa eyes up Andy in the pub and Paddy is annoyed to hear that she and Rhona are planning a night out. He worries about Vanessa bringing men back to the house, but is forced to apologise when she overhears him complaining and there's a sense that the pair might actually get on fine. Later, Rhona receives the bad news that Tootsie has cancer, and Paddy offers to visit Edna so that her night out with Vanessa isn't ruined.
Soon afterwards, Edna's world collapses when Paddy breaks it to her that Tootsie has cancer of the spleen. She worries about how she's going to afford the treatment, knowing she has no insurance.
Elsewhere, David hurts his back after sneaking up on Priya and falling, while Gennie is upset when Debbie tells her that she's not being a witness for Chas.
Tuesday
Edna feels guilty as her credit card arrives. She then agrees to volunteer for the church homeless campaign, but feels awkward when Jude and Ashley put notes into the pot of money and she only offers small change. Later at the vets, Edna is mortified when she tries to pay using her credit card but there's a problem, though it's only because she hasn't activated it.
Soon afterwards, Edna is in the church in silent prayer as Ashley and Jude enter. She covers by saying that she was checking the flowers, but Ashley is aware that something is wrong. Edna comes close to confiding in him, but can't. At Woodbine, Rhona tells Edna that she's hopeful Tootsie has made a good start with the chemo and Edna clings to her beloved pet, hoping the credit card will pay for all the treatment.
Meanwhile, Charity and Andy are delighted when Debbie tells them that Sarah can come home tomorrow. Gennie also tells Debbie that she is pleased, but is left feeling wretched when Debbie blanks her. At the pub, Andy invites Marlon to Sarah's welcome home party and suggests that Gennie should be there too. Cameron thinks they both have a right to be there and defends Gennie to Debbie as she enters The Woolpack with Charity. Gennie is upset by Debbie's reaction as she tries to talk to her once more.
Back home, Gennie is down as she tells Nikhil that Sarah is coming home but she's not welcome. She wants him to take a brooch she bought for her, and Nikhil is determined to talk to Debbie.
Elsewhere, David feels bad as he tells Jacob that Alicia might not be home for Christmas, while Declan and Robbie arrive at an uneasy truce.
Wednesday
Priya has been helping out David in the shop, but tells him that it's not going to work. David is concerned further when Priya later tells him that they need to talk. He is speechless when he realises that she's dumping him as she can't bear to break up a family. David mopes in the shop, but is taken aback when Pollard suggests that he should get on with his life as he has already done so much for Jacob.
At the same time, Rishi sees that Priya is upset and is not impressed when he discovers that she has been seeing David. Rishi is sceptical when Priya tells him that David's marriage to Alicia is a sham. Heading to work, Priya is shocked by David's impulsiveness when he tells her that he wants her and won't let her end things. David insists that he wants Priya to be there for him once he has told Jacob and Alicia the truth.
Meanwhile, Edna is embarrassed when she doesn't have enough money to pay for her shopping, and she puts back a tin of beans so that she can buy dog food for Tootsie. In the café, Edna discovers that she has been nominated to make the pudding for Christmas dinner, but she doesn't know how she'll buy the ingredients. Back home, Edna feeds Tootsie the dog food before pouring instant soup into a mug for herself.
Elsewhere, Bernice hears that Steve is on his way to the village and Rodney is furious when she insists that he will stay at the pub, Sarah returns home from hospital, Debbie tells Charity that if Cameron stays around she will have to leave the village, Gennie is pleased when Debbie calls her and Nikhil over to have a drink with them, while Rachel enjoys Sam's company but is down as she tells him that her granddad is ill.
Thursday
Rachel offers to help with the nativity at the church and is keen for Amelia to get the part of Mary. There is tension between Charity and Rachel as the children start to sing carols and they start a slanging match. Jai steps in to mediate, but everyone is stunned when Rachel suddenly holds her stomach in pain, terrified. Rachel is rushed to hospital struggling through contractions, and Charity feels guilty that Rachel could be losing the baby.
Jai is panicked to think that his baby is in danger. Feeling helpless, he offers to take Sam to the maternity unit. At the hospital, Rachel is in premature labour and as each contraction hits, she is beside herself and desperate to stop it. As Jai waits for news with Sam, he struggles to hide his growing anguish. Later, Rachel gives birth to a baby boy, but he is silent and Ruby can only console her as they watch the midwife trying to resuscitate the limp baby…
Meanwhile, Debbie refuses to stand up in court for Chas's defence and is shocked to discover that Jimmy has helped pay for her lawyers. Debbie is determined to make sure that Chas goes down. Jimmy advises her not to do anything she might regret, but Debbie later greets the detective and leads him inside with a defiant look.
Elsewhere, Steve checks into the B&B as Diane refuses to let him stay at the pub, Alex is looking for somewhere to live and Val refuses when he asks for a cheap room at the B&B, while Belle speaks to Zak about going to a New Year's Eve party.
Jai is full of worry and asks Sam to keep him updated with any news of the baby. At the same time, Rachel is desperate to know what's going on with her son. Ruby tries to reassure her, but they both know she can't be sure of what will happen. When Rachel is finally allowed to see her baby, she is tearful as she sees him in the incubator and wills him to live.
When Rishi hears the news, he goes to see Jai, who opens up to his dad and tells him that he needs to know if his son is alive. Manic with worry, Jai takes his frustrations out on Nikhil, who he blames for losing a big contract. Charity can't understand what has got into Jai, and Rishi is worried for his son.
Later, Jai arrives at the hospital desperate to see his baby, but Rishi follows him and warns him to think about what he has to lose with Charity. Jai can't carry on with life as normal knowing his son is fighting for his life, but allows himself to be led away from the hospital by Rishi. Jai is determined he will see his baby the following day.
Meanwhile, the detective tells Debbie that her information is nothing new, but she is prepared to be a character witness for the prosecution. Charity wants her to think about it, but Debbie is determined that Chas will get sent down. Jimmy cannot believe what Debbie is going to do, but Charity hopes she can change her mind.
Elsewhere, a desperate Edna needs the money and offers homeless Alex a room, while Rishi questions David about his intentions with Priya.
Friday
Charity is angry and lays into Jai about his recent attitude towards her. Jai promises to make it up to her, and Rishi hopes that he has seen sense. Worried that Jai's behaviour will give the game away, Rishi pays a visit to Rachel, hoping that she can talk some sense into Jai and stop him ruining what he already has with Charity and Noah. However, Rachel simply snaps that she has enough to worry about. That afternoon, Jai struggles to keep it together with Charity and Rishi at lunch as he hears that Rachel is having an emergency christening for the baby and wants Sam to be godfather.
Determined to find out what's going on, Charity asks Rishi for an explanation about his behaviour. He covers by claiming that Jai is struggling seeing Nikhil with Molly, but Charity is angry and not prepared to be blackmailed about having a baby. Jai panics when an edgy Charity arrives saying they need to talk, but he is relieved when she thinks his mood is down to her not wanting kids.
Rishi later warns Jai to cut all contact with Rachel and the baby before Charity finds out. However, when Jai finally hears back from Rachel that the baby has been christened 'Archie', he begs to see his son.
Meanwhile, Jimmy tells Cameron that Debbie is giving evidence for the prosecution, and he worries that it's all starting to unravel. Cameron tries to speak to Debbie, but she is livid at his audacity and is spurred on even more to cause trouble for Chas. Later, Cameron visits Chas in prison and breaks the news to her. Chas wonders why Debbie has chosen to rub her nose in it now and they despair as he tells her that it's his fault for speaking to Debbie. Chas is sure he has made things a hundred times worse for her - they're going to lock her up and throw away the key.
Elsewhere, David and Priya are happy at the idea of spending time together at Christmas but David later finds out that Alicia will be home, while Adam worries that he has upset Moira when he admits that he wants to spend Christmas Day with Victoria.
Emmerdale's Debbie Dingle admits that she is considering leaving the village in tonight's (December 12) episode of the soap.
Debbie (Charley Webb) is able to enjoy a moment of happiness this evening as her daughter Sarah finally returns home from hospital, but it doesn't take long for things to turn sour again when she bumps into her cheating ex Cameron Murray.
When Debbie finds Cameron at the pub after heading out for a celebratory drink, the tension between them continues and it hits home that they can't carry on living in such close proximity.
Back at Tug Ghyll, Debbie informs Charity (Emma Atkins) that she's at the end of her tether and will seek a fresh start elsewhere if Cameron sticks around. Can Charity persuade her daughter to stay?

Emmerdale's Gemma Oaten has confirmed that Jai will feel jealous of Sam when Rachel's baby is born.
Rachel goes into an unexpected premature labour during tonight's (December 13) double bill, leaving Jai feeling helpless over the baby.
"Things really start to heat up and Jai actually becomes quite disgusting in some of the things he starts saying," Oaten revealed.
""He really does go for Sam in a big way because he can't stand the fact that he can't be the dad to his baby and yet he sees Sam pushing the pram."
The actress also revealed that the episode sends Jai "completely over the edge".
Rachel will shatter Jai's fatherhood dreams, punishing him for not telling wife Charity of their one-night stand and allowing Sam Dingle to help her care for the child.
