Coming up on EastEnders, Bianca Butcher heads back to Albert Square following her stint in prison - but adjusting to life as a free woman may take some time.

After returning home with Carol and the kids, Bianca (Patsy Palmer) is determined to get things back to normal but knows that she needs a job to support her family.

As Bianca secured a hairdressing qualification in prison, she approaches Tanya about a job in the salon. Tanya is forced to regretfully explain that she doesn't have any positions to offer at the moment, but when she later spots Bianca getting turned down for another job, Tanya takes pity on her and offers her a trial at Booty's.

Carol also manages to get her old job back in the café, so it seems that she and Bianca are well on the way to turning around the family's fortunes.

Monday

Lauren is unconscious following the car crash, while Joey manages to pull himself free but is alarmed to spot flames appearing from under the bonnet. Joey tries to pull Lauren to safety but suddenly his phone rings and it's Alice, wanting to talk about Derek. When Joey answers, he tells his sister to call an ambulance. Derek then rushes to the scene and manages to get both Joey and a now-conscious Lauren to safety. The dramatic rescue comes with only moments to spare as the car soon explodes and throws them all to the floor.

As Derek starts to ask questions about the accident, Lauren admits that she was the driver and had been drinking before setting off. Derek warns that Lauren will face a prison sentence if the police find out the truth, and suggests that they should claim Joey was driving instead. The pair go along with this false story in front of the police, but when Lauren's parents arrive on the scene, she privately confides in Tanya about what really happened - including telling her mum that she loves Joey.

Alone with his son, Derek reveals his true intentions by ordering Joey to end his deception by telling Alice the truth about the incident at the boxing gym. Derek warns that if Joey doesn't agree, he will tell the police the truth about the accident and get Lauren arrested. Joey calls Derek's bluff by claiming that Lauren means nothing to him, so Derek challenges him to prove it with a big ultimatum - either dump Lauren or start acting like a loving son.

As the eventful night continues, Tanya privately questions Derek about why he is covering for Lauren and accuses him of meddling. However, Derek hits back by warning Tanya not to cross him again or he will tell the police the truth. At the same time, Joey realises that he has no choice but to give into Derek's blackmail, so he approaches Lauren in her hospital room and leaves her devastated by claiming that he lied when he told her that he loves her…

Also today, Cora lashes out at both Tanya and Patrick for interfering in her life - feeling utterly miserable after Ava rejected her.

Tuesday

Max is still unaware of the real story behind the car accident, but Lauren continues to confide in Tanya by admitting that she and Joey were running away together. Tanya points out that Joey obviously doesn't love Lauren after he rejected her last night, but Lauren is reluctant to accept this. Back on the Square, meanwhile, Derek is still pleading with Alice to stick around in Walford. After approaching Mo about renting her house, Derek finally gets the result he's hoping for as Alice agrees to move in with him there - believing that her family need her after the crash.

Derek is also hoping that the crash will turn Joey into a more respectful son, as he now has nobody else to turn to. Resorting to blackmail once again, Derek orders Tanya to convince Joey to stay in Walford, otherwise he'll tell the police the truth about Lauren being to blame for the accident.

Later at the Branning house, Joey confesses to Tanya that he still cares about Lauren but is being blackmailed by Derek. Also under pressure from Derek, Tanya advises Joey to stay on the Square as it's for the best despite what's happened. Tanya then approaches Derek and reveals that she has done what he asked.

Meanwhile, an expensive watch arrives for Kat at The Vic and it's from her mystery lover, who has included a note which reads: "Miss you. Time we got together again. X." However, Kat quickly throws it into the bin. Later, Alfie complains that the council are refusing to pay for the Square's Christmas decorations and reveals to Kat that he's going to try asking the Branning brothers to help foot the bill.

Elsewhere, Bianca, Carol and the kids make their permanent return to the Square. Carol gets her old job back in the café, while Bianca secures a trial at the salon as she got a hairdressing qualification in prison. Bianca is happy with her progress, but when she's alone she breaks down in tears and is clearly overwhelmed by everything.

Also today, Fatboy struggles to make progress with Poppy and his day gets worse when he hears that he'll have to find a new place to live now that Derek is renting Mo's house.
Joey visits Lauren.

Thursday

When Kat receives a letter from her mystery man which invites her to come over to the bedsit, she is forced to pretend to Alfie that it's just junk mail. Rattled by her ex-lover's persistent behaviour, Kat calls him up and orders him to leave her alone. When more messages arrive, Kat finally goes over to the bedsit and is surprised to find champagne and rose petals on the bed. Furious that this guy isn't taking no for an answer, Kat rubs out a message that he has left for her on the mirror and throws away the key.

Back at The Vic, Alfie is planning a German market with some of the other locals, and it's decided that he should go on a short trip to Germany to get the stock. The Branning brothers are the main instigators behind this plan, and Kat can see that her lover has an ulterior motive as he wants to get her alone. Kat informs Alfie that he shouldn't go as they can't afford the trip, but she is thwarted when he receives a ticket to Cologne and £500 from an 'anonymous' sender. Later, Kat panics when she receives a text saying: "Finally, I've got you all to myself."

Meanwhile, Cora is furious when Tamwar mentions Lauren's accident to her, as Tanya has failed to tell her anything about the crash. Tanya tries to apologise for not letting her know, but their relationship remains strained. At the same time, Lauren wonders why Joey won't return her calls and speculates that he could be annoyed that she let him take the blame for the crash. Lauren tells Tanya that she is considering admitting the truth. When the police arrive to question Lauren, will she reveal what really happened?

Elsewhere, Bianca's trial at the salon gets off to a rocky start when a customer complains to Poppy about her. Bianca fears the worst, but is relieved when Poppy explains that the customer in question complains about everyone and her trial will therefore continue as planned.

Also today, Poppy decides to take Joey in as a lodger to help pay the bills - but Fatboy is left worrying about the pair living under the same roof.

Some storyline details have been held back for this episode.

Friday

With Alfie preparing to leave for his trip to Germany, Kat remains concerned as her mystery man continues his desperate attempts to impress her. Looking outside the window, she spots a bunch of roses propped against the Square's railings and recognises them as a gift from her ex-lover. Fearful of being harassed by the guy in question while Alfie is away, Kat announces that she wants to go on the trip to Germany too. However, Alfie is unable to get any cover for The Vic and explains that he'll have to take Fatboy with him instead.

Once Alfie has gone, Kat is surprised to find a gift from the mystery guy in her bedroom. It's a candle with a note which says: "Light it. Put it in the window. And I'll come knocking." A defiant Kat throws the candle out of the window, but she is later left in another panic when Jean explains that she has lit a candle to help Tommy sleep. Not wanting her ex to get the wrong impression, Kat extinguishes the candle - but as she turns the lights off at the pub, there's a knock on the door…

Meanwhile, Tanya tells Sharon that she has a cancer scan next week. Wanting to cheer up her friend, Sharon takes Tanya out for a drink at The Vic. As the pair chat further, Tanya agrees when Sharon asks her to give Lola a trial at the salon. Shortly afterwards, Tanya asks Sharon to be maid of honour at the wedding.

Elsewhere, Carol and Bianca are struggling to share the role of parenting now that things are getting back to normal. When Bianca burns the dinner and the kids immediately call Carol home to help, Bianca is left upset as they seem to see Carol as more of a mum than her. Discussing the situation, Carol tells Bianca that it's not a competition and they need to work together.

Also today, Abi prepares a romantic evening for Jay at the salon as she knows that his hearing is approaching. As things start getting amorous between the pair, Abi suddenly becomes overwhelmed with emotion and starts to cry - declaring that she loves Jay no matter what happens and will be there for him.

Some storyline details have been held back for this episode.

EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa has predicted that her character Lauren Branning won't cope well with her latest relationship break-up.

Lauren is left distraught next week as her cousin Joey (David Witts) calls an end to their blossoming romance, having been blackmailed into doing so by his dad Derek (Jamie Foreman).

Not realising that Joey secretly still has feelings for her, Lauren struggles to cope with her heartbreak - which could tie in with reports that she will go off the rails again in the build-up to Christmas.

Asked by All About Soap whether Lauren will start drinking again, Jossa replied: "She's never really stopped! Booze is her comfort blanket. And if she doesn't have Joey, what else has she got?

"Her family are great, but the only person she wants to talk to is Joey."

She continued: "Being with Joey is good for Lauren - she doesn't get as drunk when she's around him, and I really dread to think how she'll be without him now."

Jossa added that there will be tensions between Lauren and Derek if she ever finds out about his blackmail.

The actress said: "She'll kick off big time. She really hates Derek and although they used to get on quite well, their relationship has changed and this would just be the last straw."

EastEnders continues tomorrow (November 22) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
