Over on Coronation Street, Gloria Price's scheme to win the Pub of the Year competition backfires badly as she is exposed as a cheat.

Gloria (Sue Johnston) is delighted next month when she hears that the Rovers Return has triumphed in the contest, and the editor of Lancashire Leisure magazine will be calling later to present the plaque. However, a vengeful Lewis Archer (Nigel Havers) makes sure that she isn't smiling for long.

Lewis is furious with Gloria for teaming up with Gail in an attempt to expose him as a con artist, so he spots an opportunity for revenge when Norris and Mary tell him that Gloria cheated in the pub competition by writing her own customer comment cards.

Deciding to reveal Gloria's deception, Lewis puts in a sneaky call to the Gazette to report a potential scandal. As a result, when the magazine editor finally arrives at The Rovers that evening, a reporter from the local newspaper turns up too.

Just as Gloria is about to be presented with her plaque, Lewis suggests that the magazine editor should read out some of the glowing remarks left on the customer comment cards. However, when the punters start to complain that their names have been placed on fake reviews, Gloria's deceit is revealed to all.

Gloria then makes a scene by trying to grab the plaque as she feels she is entitled to it, but The Rovers faces public shame as it is immediately disqualified from the competition…

Later, as the dust settles, Stella (Michelle Collins) tears a strip off Gloria - devastated that her mum has once again messed things up for her.

A hurt Gloria then suggests that she should move out, but is horrified when Stella agrees this is for the best. Will Gloria leave Weatherfield?

As Audrey cries over Lewis, he points out to Gloria how she's ruined his relationship. However, there's cause for celebration at The Rovers when Gloria hears that they've won Lancashire Leisure Magazine's pub of the year and the editor will be calling later to present the plaque. But when Lewis hears from Norris and Mary how Gloria cheated by writing her own customer comment cards, he puts in a sneaky call to the Gazette.

When the magazine editor arrives at the pub, so does a reporter from the Gazette. Lewis suggests the editor reads some of the comment cards. Has Lewis opened up a can of worms that will leave Gloria and Stella squirming?

Meanwhile, Ken is disheartened when Brian tells him there's going to be a full investigation after Wendy's allegation. Despite Tracy's jibes, it's clear that Deirdre is starting to believe Ken's version of events. Egged on by Rita, Deirdre decides to confront Wendy head on about her accusation. Will she be able to persuade Wendy to admit she lied about Ken?

Elsewhere, Maria is disgruntled when she witnesses Aiden and Marcus share a loved-up breakfast. Later, Aiden tells Maria that he's been offered a job promotion and he's moving to London. When he asks Maria whether she thinks Marcus would be prepared to move with him, how will she respond?

Also, Sally accuses Jenna of working Sophie too hard but she's responding well, Jenna spots Lloyd and Mandy kissing, while Steve sends flowers to Michelle in Ireland - hoping to prompt her into contacting him.

Gloria's cheating has been exposed and Stella is incandescent. The journalist scribbles away, getting Norris and Mary's version of events on how Gloria set out to fraudulently win the competition. With the bonfire party in full flow, Stella is forced to work hard to appease her customers. She also tears a strip off Gloria, devastated that her mum has once again mucked up her life.

When Gloria suggests that she should move out, to her horror Stella agrees. As Gloria packs her things, will Stella back down?

Meanwhile, Lewis is secretly thrilled as he witnesses the chaos he has caused. Audrey then tries to build bridges. Sad at the thought of losing her, will Lewis forgive Audrey for her part in his betrayal?

Elsewhere, with Deirdre now sure that Wendy is just a sad, deluded woman, she attempts to apologise to Ken. Later, Wendy calls at the house and admits to Ken that she hoped they could rekindle their old feelings. But when Ken makes it clear that's never going to happen, how will Wendy react? Will she agree to withdraw her false accusations?

Also, Maria half-heartedly sounds Marcus out about a move to London. When he says that he doesn't miss the place, Maria is quietly pleased. But how will Aiden react to the news?

Finally, Sally is still sceptical about Jenna's physio programme but Sophie is clearly impressed, while Mandy works her first shift behind the Rovers bar.

After lying to Aiden about Marcus not being keen about moving to London, Maria is guilty when he tells her that he's not accepting his job promotion and throws the offer letter in the bin. Later at the salon, Maria tells an astounded Audrey that she thinks she has fallen in love with Marcus. Audrey is sympathetic as Maria tells her about the kiss that she and Marcus shared, but reminds her that Marcus is with Aiden and she is with Jason, who's a decent bloke.

In turmoil, Maria fishes the letter out of the bin and slips it into Marcus's post. Finding the letter, Marcus tackles Aiden about it. Aiden explains that he has turned it down after Maria's advice about long distance relationships.

Soon afterwards, an irked Marcus tackles Maria about meddling in his relationship. As the pair begin to row, emotions start to escalate and Marcus demands to know why Maria doesn't want him to leave Weatherfield. Lost for words, Maria realises there's only one way she can answer this!

Meanwhile, Gail feels terrible as Lewis hands her some money to pass to Audrey - he's still determined to pay back his debts. Realising his feelings for her mum are genuine, Gail suggests Audrey try talking to Lewis again. Audrey tries to return the money, but Lewis won't accept it and assures her that once he has repaid his debt, he's leaving Weatherfield. Devastated, Audrey tells Gail that she'll never forgive her. Has Gail ruined her relationship with her mother for good?

Elsewhere, Ken and Deirdre agree to put the Wendy episode behind them, but will Deirdre be happy to let Ken resume his role as chair of the school governors? Later, over a romantic meal, the couple reflect on their marriage and how much it means to them. Can they move on together?

Also today, Mandy offers her services as chef at The Rovers, and Ryan persuades Stella to let him and Steve put a pub football team together.

Friday

Marcus has spent the night with Maria, but in the cold light of day, the enormity of what he's done hits him. He leaves the flat with Maria in pursuit, as Sean passes and clocks the pair having a heated debate. Sean later tackles Marcus about the row, and Marcus tells him that Aiden wants him to move away but he's uncertain. Sean tells him that he should follow his heart.

At the salon, Audrey offers the same advice when Maria confesses that she has slept with Marcus and she's in love. But when Maria walks into the pub, a confused Marcus makes a snap decision and tells Aiden that he'll go with him. A gutted Maria implores Marcus to give them a chance, telling him how much she loves him. How will Marcus react?

Meanwhile, Gail notices Lewis moving into the butchers flat. Her guilt is compounded when he tells her that he has pawned his father's watch to go towards paying Audrey back. Later, when Gail hears Lewis telling Audrey he's lost the watch, she decides to take action.

Elsewhere, Carole arrives from the Flying Horse to announce to Stella that the forthcoming five-a-side match is between their two pubs. Stella tells Lloyd that she is determined The Rovers is going to win and tells him to drum up the best team possible. Steve arrives and is bemused that Lloyd's list of team members includes Paul, Rob, Ryan, Gary and Chesney, but not him. Will Stella agree with the selection?

Also, when Kevin tells Kirsty that he's snowed under at the garage and could do with some help from Tyrone, she gives him short shrift.

Maria begs Marcus not to go, but he tells her that he has to - he's gay and a relationship with her would never work. Maria is heartbroken, but as Marcus and Aiden prepare to leave for a weekend in London, Marcus suddenly realises that he can't go through with it and tells Aiden it's over.

A crushed Aiden asks Marcus if it's because he still has feelings for Sean. Unable to deal with telling Aiden the truth, Marcus confirms this. Later, as Aiden leaves the street, he tells a euphoric Sean that Marcus has dumped him because he's still in love with him. But as Sean debates his next move, will Marcus find himself in Maria's arms?

Meanwhile, Gail presents Lewis with his father's watch, which she has bought back from the pawnbrokers. After some serious persuasion, Lewis finally accepts it. Gail heads home more certain than ever that she has misjudged Lewis. After she's gone, however, Lewis makes a call and arranges a meeting that proves the cogs of his plan to thwart Gail are well and truly in motion…

Elsewhere, as she takes over as manager of the Rovers football team, Stella begins to crack the whip training her men. Steve is down in the dumps and Mandy susses his jealousy of Rob is behind his feelings. She has a go at Lloyd for not helping Steve get selected for the team. Will her words have Lloyd leaping to help his oldest mate?

Also, Fiz worries that Kirsty is keeping Tyrone from his friends.
