Coming up on Hollyoaks, Lynsey Nolan's brother Eoghan turns up in the village to attend her funeral.

As Eoghan (Alan Turkington) settles in, it becomes clear that he shares a complicated history with Brendan Brady - which the newcomer confirms when he tells Ste Hay that he was the bad boy's "dirty little secret".

When Lynsey's body arrives in the village, Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) tries to comfort his old flame - but a grief-stricken Eoghan lashes out at him, blaming Brendan for not protecting Lynsey.

Eoghan also goads Brendan about their past, but the nightclub owner leaves him with food for thought by questioning why Eoghan has never been open about his sexuality.

Meanwhile, the funeral day is particularly difficult for Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh) as she is still struggling with the loss of her best friend.

To make matters worse, twisted Doctor Browning has just pleaded not guilty to Lynsey's murder in court - leaving Cheryl upset that he could add further heartache at this terrible time.

Cheryl initially considers dressing conservatively for the funeral but in the end she wears bright colours, wanting the day to also be a celebration of Lynsey's life.

While the service itself is a sombre occasion, the wake at Chez Chez has a party atmosphere as Cheryl hits the karaoke!

Hollyoaks airs these scenes on Tuesday, October 23 and Wednesday, October 24 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks sixth former Martin 'Jono' Johnson makes a surprising decision next week as he resolves to join the army.

Jono (Dylan Llewellyn) is inspired to take on the new path when the army holds a free assault course day at the college, leading to competition between him and his friends.

With Jono, Bart McQueen (Jonny Clarke) and Neil Cooper (Tosin Cole) all keen to impress on the course, they soon start employing dirty tactics to pull ahead.

Later, Jono becomes frustrated when Bart's put-downs take their toll, but the mischievous McQueen continues to humiliate him by giving him a soaking…

Undeterred by Bart's behaviour, Jono starts to seriously consider whether joining the army could be the right move for him.

When Jono later spots Bart meeting with a drug dealer to feed his growing cannabis habit, he vows not to be a waster like his friend and goes ahead with enrolling in the army. Does he have what it takes to make it into the forces?
