Fans of Hollyoaks favourite Carmel McQueen can look forward to her returning to screens in a fortnight's time.

Carmel fled the family home a few weeks ago as she was struggling to cope in the aftermath of her tanning machine accident, which left her with a permanent facial scar.

The blonde is currently staying with Nana McQueen, but magazine reports have revealed that an emotional Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane) will pay her a visit on Wednesday, October 10.

Myra is keen to reunite her fractured family following the recent Mercedes-related dramas, but convincing Carmel to return to the village may be a tough task.

Weighing up everything that has happened to her recently, Carmel will have to decide whether to head back home with Myra or continue keeping her distance for now.

Gemma Merna, who plays Carmel, recently tweeted: "Everyone don't worry, I'm filming a lot of good storylines for #Hollyoaks so will be back on your screens very shortly!"

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks couple Darren and Nancy Osborne will hit the rocks after their baby arrives prematurely.

Nancy (Jessica Fox) is about to go into labour just 26 weeks into her pregnancy, but there is relief all round when her child is delivered safely by Caesarean section.

In the hours that follow, however, the parents are told that their tiny baby may have brain damage.

The news pushes Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) to breaking point as he can't help but feel this is all down to Nancy, after she ignored his warnings about the stress she was putting herself under while pregnant.

At first, Darren tries to keep quiet about how he really feels, but in the end he loses his temper with Nancy and gives her some harsh home truths.

With more tests needed to determine the wellbeing of the baby, Jack is hopeful that he can talk Darren round. However, Darren later shocks everyone by asking Nancy for a divorce. Is there any way back for the popular couple?

The fling continues next week as Rhys heads out to meet up with Cindy, covering his tracks by telling Jacqui (Claire Cooper) that he is going to see Darren.

As Rhys and Cindy meet at the Atwell's gym, Jacqui is in for a shock as Jack tells her that Darren is with Nancy and their newborn baby, not Rhys!

Rhys ends up being away from the flat much longer than he anticipated, as he and Cindy manage to get themselves locked in the gym overnight.

When Rhys finally returns home the next morning, he upsets Jacqui by continuing to lie that he's been with Darren the whole time.

As a furious Jacqui reveals that she knows Rhys is lying, will he be able to get out of this one?

Esther Bloom's bullying storyline continues on Hollyoaks next week as a handful of her fellow sixth formers appear determined to make her life a misery.

The student's latest humiliation comes when George Smith (Steven Roberts) asks his friends to help out with his new drama project, which is an homage to Roman Holiday.

Lacey Kane's contribution is to bring along her sister Ash's motorbike for the short film, but when bitchy Maddie Morrison (Scarlett Bowman) is cast as Audrey Hepburn, Esther makes the mistake of trying to outdo her rival on the bike.

While taking the vehicle for a ride, hapless Esther (Jazmine Franks) manages to crash and makes a fool of herself by accidentally flashing her underwear. It's not long before footage of the incident subsequently appears online…

Later in the week, the teen group prepares for the autumn fancy dress ball, and Maddie looks set to be the centre of attention once again by dressing as Marilyn Monroe.

Determined to stir up some trouble, Ruby (Anna Shaffer) suggests to an unknowing Esther that she should go as Marilyn - well aware that it will lead to more clashes between her and Maddie.

Maddie is shocked when she and Esther turn up for the event in identical outfits, and Ruby betrays her friend further by telling Maddie that Esther did it on purpose.

If that wasn't bad enough, Maddie's sidekick Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis) is also involved in targeting Esther after she discovers a personal letter written by her.

Concerned teacher Jen Gilmore (Amy Downham) has convinced Esther to boost her self-esteem by writing a list of things she loves most about herself, but when Sinead later finds the private note in the bin, she cruelly keeps hold of it to show to the other teens.

With the malicious behaviour of Maddie, Sinead and Ruby intensifying, it seems that things will get worse for Esther before they get better - will she be able to cope?

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has confirmed that his character Darren Osborne is among the suspects for an upcoming storyline which sees Sinead O'Connor have a one-night stand with one of the village's male residents.

Newly-released spoilers have revealed that Sinead catches the eye of Darren, Rhys, Rob, Liam and Jono as she attends a party in a future episode.

Reports say that Sinead (Stephanie Davis) ends up in bed with one man shortly afterwards, but his identity is being kept under wraps.

Darren's presence at the party comes after he has asked his wife Nancy for a divorce following the premature arrival of their baby son, furious that she put herself under so much stress while pregnant.

Dawson told Inside Soap: "Darren goes to the party to drown his sorrows. He gets himself into such a state that he doesn't know what he's doing. If it is Darren who beds Sinead, it'll have serious repercussions for any future with Nancy."

Discussing why Darren is being so harsh with Nancy, the actor explained: "Darren believes that Nancy didn't take proper care of herself during her pregnancy. She seemed preoccupied with what was happening with Mitzeee, and wouldn't listen to him when he told her to back off. In his heart of hearts, Darren feels she's responsible for all of this."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.

Hollyoaks star Nicole Barber-Lane has admitted that she is grateful for the McQueen family's recent on-screen dramas.

The soap clan have been pushed to their limits over the past few months with Carmel leaving home after suffering facial scarring and Mercedes becoming increasingly unstable in her explosive feud with Mitzeee Minniver.

Barber-Lane told PA that she feels "really lucky" to have been at the centre of the big scenes as her matriarchal character Myra tries to do what is best for the family.

The actress commented: "I think like many mothers, she tries her best. Whether her best is up to scratch is another question. She's certainly a very lenient parent, but also she would do anything for her kids, that comes before anything else.

"I'm actually a lot softer as a parent through playing her, so that's quite funny. I think, 'Oh God, I'm a worse parent than Myra!'"

She added: "I've been really lucky recently, I've had some fantastic scenes with all the girls. I really feel like Myra's sort of back, looking after the family."

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see Myra pay a visit to Carmel in the hope that she will return home at last.
