I thought Gennie would be worried about the birth after what happened to her birth mother. Lets hope Nikhil doesn't put his foot in it with a comment like only Nikhil can do. Love the idea of a virtual baby too

Coming up on Emmerdale, Kerry Wyatt's life hangs in the balance as she suffers another shock health scare.

Kerry (Laura Norton) takes a sudden turn for the worse after losing her insulin pen in a forthcoming episode, just weeks after she ended up in a diabetic coma following a drinking session.

The irresponsible mum's careless act coincides with a tough time for her in the village, as Val (Charlie Hardwick) gives her some more home truths - believing that she should leave Emmerdale before Amy returns from her trip.

Kerry's love interest Andy also pulls the rug from under her by asking her to leave his house.

Back at rock bottom, Kerry is later spotted staggering around drunk in the village, feeling that she has nobody to turn to.

Kerry soon collapses and is found by Sam (James Hooton), who calls the emergency services, while a guilty Val and Pollard bring over blankets. Will Kerry be okay?

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday, September 20 at 7pm on ITV1.

Monday

A distraught Marlon arrives home, having spent the night in the police station. Devastated and clueless over what he is going to do next, Marlon explains to Laurel that he has no idea when he will next see Leo, furious that Rhona has taken him.

At the same time, Paddy arrives home to see the locum Matt arriving. Paddy explains to Pearl that he is back in court on Friday, but wants her to book him a ticket to New Zealand for Friday night. Pearl is shocked that Paddy is still going ahead with the move abroad.

Later, Marlon seems unusually positive as he arrives for work and later visits Paddy to tell him about some research he has been doing. Paddy is defeated as Marlon explains that he must call Rhona to tell her to return, otherwise he will inform the police who will force her to bring Leo home.

Meanwhile, a desperate Cameron is on the phone to his father, trying to get money to pay Carl. Cameron is unimpressed when Chas explains that she's going away for a break with Dan. Carl wants to know where they're going, warning her that the problem won't go away. Later, Carl puts the pressure on Cameron - and has no sympathy when Cameron tries to tell him that Debbie doesn't deserve this with Sarah being so ill.

Elsewhere, when Charity takes a phone complaint about Rodney's bad driving, Carl sacks him - which kicks off an almighty row between the King brothers. The tension is just what Charity wants!

Also today, everyone gathers for Rachel's leaving party at the café but Ali tries to persuade her not to leave, while Priya and David arrange a romantic walk.

Tuesday

At the factory, a subdued Gennie tells Laurel about her check-up that morning. However, she is soon unsettled by Laurel talking about the birth. When Gennie leaves, Nikhil worries to Laurel over how scared Gennie is. Laurel explains that she has every right to be after what happened to her mum, before realising that Nikhil has no idea what she is referring to.

Later, Zak and Sam stop by to speak to Nikhil for some instructions, as they are going to do some work for him. Soon afterwards, Gennie is furious when she sees that they have childproofed the whole house, but feels guilty when Nikhil apologises for getting it wrong again. She explains that she's a nervous wreck, and squirms as Nikhil fishes for info on what happened to her birth mother.

Eventually, Gennie fills Nikhil in on how her mum died in childbirth, but explains that she is more worried about turning out like her dad and abandoning her baby. Nikhil reassures her, while forming another plan…

Meanwhile, Jai helps Rachel to settle into the flat, but she is outraged that he's had his own set of keys cut. Their argument is interrupted when Ali knocks at the door. Rachel is tense and panics as Ali looks around her flat, not knowing where Jai is hidden. Rachel covers by telling her off for coming over, but is gutted when she leaves. With Ali gone, Rachel wants Jai to hand over the keys, as he will have to phone before he comes round. Jai is fed up, but agrees to her terms. Later, alone and bored at the flat, Rachel sits down to a meal for one feeling like a fish out of water.

Elsewhere, Paddy lies to Marlon about how he has told Rhona to return home. However, it's clear that Paddy has his own plans when he later speaks to Rhona about his flights.

Also today, Priya puts her foot in it with Jacob and he decides to get his own back by scratching her car, while Andy worries about how needy Kerry is becoming after Val and Pollard tell her that Amy isn't coming back anytime soon.

Wednesday

Rachel is still bored and lonely at the flat, and ends up scaring the cleaner with her over-familiarity. She later meets Ali in the café for a coffee and gets upset. Jai spots this and signals for her to call him. They meet at the factory, where Rachel tells Jai that she doesn't want to stay in the flat. She adds that she needs to be with her family, or the deal's off.

Jai begs Rachel to give it some time, but her mind is made up when Sam finds her in tears and tells her to do what makes her happy. Taking strength from this, Rachel heads to the pub asking for her job back. Soon afterwards, a furious Jai corners Rachel, but she stands up to him - vowing that she is staying in the village, so he had better sort something.

Meanwhile, Gennie is astonished to learn that Nikhil has bought a learning aid baby for her to practise with. She is also annoyed that he's named it Henry - the name she had in mind for their real baby. At the factory, Gennie sends Nikhil out for lunch and then begs Lizzie to help look after the computerised doll, feeling out of her depth already. Gennie then leaves the baby with Nikhil, who cancels a meeting to look after it.

Later, Nikhil panics on returning home to find Gennie asleep with no sign of Henry. She tells him that she's put him on the back doorstep. However, seeing how desperate and earnest Nikhil is, Gennie agrees to take it more seriously tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Kerry offers to look after Sarah, saying that she's fantastic with kids. This turns out to be true - she's great with Sarah, and Victoria remarks that it's a shame she found her mothering skills too late for Amy. Later, Kerry realises that she has lost her insulin pen, but she loses interest in looking for it as she is distracted by the TV.

Also today, David covers when Jacob says that his mum wouldn't like him spending so much time with Priya, while Megan and Robbie unite when Megan asks if he'd be up for joining her in London once the festival is over.

Thursday

Debbie finds the insulin pen in Sarah's bag and storms round to Andy's. At the same time, Kerry tells Val and Pollard that she's staying on in the village, but is devastated by some home truths from Val. Kerry then feels her world is falling apart when Andy tells her to leave. Kerry asks Pollard if she can stay for just one more night. When he refuses, Kerry despairs.

Later, Zak finds Kerry drunk and staggering around, but leaves when she is rude towards him. Kerry collapses and is found by Sam, who calls the emergency services - while a guilty Val brings over blankets.

Meanwhile, Nikhil continues to persuade Gennie that looking after a fake baby will help them prepare for the real thing, but Gennie is not so sure. Victoria agrees to babysit for the doll, but leaves it behind the bar as she heads out. Charity is amused to see it there, and sends Nikhil a picture of it propped up. Just as he and Gennie are enjoying quality time, he receives the image and storms out. Gennie is embarrassed by Nikhil's reaction.

Elsewhere, Jai tells Rachel he has cancelled the tenancy on the city flat. Later, he asks Declan for Faye's number, as he's thinking of buying her cottage. Rachel is chuffed to hear that he has made an offer.

Also, Megan wants to spend quality time with Carl before she leaves but a preoccupied Carl is distracted, while Jacob admits to David that it was him who scratched Priya's car.

As she and Pollard wait for news on Kerry, Val fears it's all her fault. At the same time, all talk in the pub is about Kerry. Andy is stunned and saddened when Victoria gives him the news, while Val tells Pollard that she is going to make things right if Kerry pulls through.

Soon afterwards, Pollard suggests that they should make a go of things again as a couple, and he and Val finally kiss. The doctor breaks the news to Val and Pollard that Kerry is very ill and might not make it. They realise they need to get Amy to come home…

Meanwhile, Gennie tells Nikhil that he should send the fake baby back, while Victoria apologises for leaving it in the pub. Jai advises his brother to dump the fake baby as he'll love the real one when it comes along, but Nikhil remarks that Jai has no idea what it's like to be expecting a baby. Later, Nikhil and Gennie sit on the sofa together and discuss their unborn child. They resolve to stick by each other, and Gennie is pleased that Nikhil is taking it seriously.

Elsewhere, Jai tells everyone that he is thinking of buying Tenants. Later, Rachel is relieved when he informs her that he's bought the cottage and she should ask about renting it.

Also today, David apologises to Priya and she's devastated when he finishes with her, saying Jacob has to come first, while Megan ends her relationship with Carl.

Friday

Amy returns to see her mother. On arriving at the hospital, she is full of bravado, but suddenly gets emotional when David and Pollard explain that it's not looking good for Kerry. At Kerry's bedside, Pollard and David fill Amy in on her mum's recent behaviour. Amy is angry at Kerry for trying to kill herself, but she is concerned when Kerry goes into a seizure. The doctor then arrives and Amy is steered out of the room, leaving her feeling emotional as she and Pollard await news.

Later, Amy is relieved when the doctor tells her that Kerry is through the worst. Pollard explains that Val is not there as she feels responsible for what happened, and goes on to let Amy know that he and Val are back together.

Amy goes in to see Kerry and shows how angry she is for what her mother has put her through, telling Pollard that she will have to leave once she has recovered. Amy goes, followed by a concerned Pollard. Kerry then opens her eyes, having heard everything…

Meanwhile, Gennie takes the afternoon off to look after 'Henry'. At home, Gennie snoozes on the sofa and is oblivious when the fake baby falls on the floor and begins wailing. She panics when she wakes up and realises what has happened to him. Feeling guilty, she hurriedly picks him up off the floor and sees the dent in his head. In the café, Gennie is guilty about his head injury and shows an amused Ruby.

Elsewhere, Pearl wishes Paddy good luck for his court case, and he hugs her before he leaves. She doesn't spot the suitcase for New Zealand. Later, Paddy contacts Rhona over Skype, explaining that he can't go to New Zealand because of his community service and she will have to come home.

Also today, Declan tells Megan that they should be working together and not letting Robbie pull them apart, while Diane wants to tackle Gabby's rude behaviour by calling a family meeting.
