Meanwhile, Hollyoaks womaniser Dodger Savage finds himself on a downward spiral as he struggles to feel part of his own family.

Dodger (Danny Mac) has been putting on a brave face since discovering that Dirk is not his real father earlier this summer, but his secret turmoil finally begins to hit home in the coming days.

With Dirk unaware of what's really troubling his adoptive son, he makes things worse by trying to give some fatherly advice.

When Dodger resolves to track down his real dad, viewers will have to wait and see whether he is successful - and whether he will confront Dirk with what he knows.

However, as seen in the pictures below, the barman finally loses control when he spots that Dirk has had 'Savage & Son' painted on the side of the family's van. Is Dodger on a road of self-destruction?

A guilty Ash refuses to stand by and watch her family fall apart, but is it too late?

The Kanes reach breaking point on Hollyoaks this evening (August 29) as the consequences of Martha's relapse hit home.

With Lacey behaving strangely following her 16th birthday party, Ash soon realises that something is amiss - before correctly guessing that the teen must have caught Martha (Carli Norris) drinking yesterday.

Heading straight home, a furious Ash (Holly Weston) confronts her alcoholic mum, branding her thoughtless and selfish for not staying on the wagon.

Although Martha is initially apologetic, she soon gets fed up with Ash's lecture and fires back with some harsh words of her own. Can the fractured family recover from this?
