Corrie fans are finally going to meet Carla Connor’s long lost brother, when he arrives on the cobbles this summer. He's set to turn heads and break hearts as the new moody bad lad of the Street.
Corrie are currently auditioning actors for the coveted role, and the newest additon to the Connor clan is set to ruffle a few feathers when he arrives later this year to give his sister a hand with running the factory.
He'll also waste no time in setting his sights on some of Coronation Street’s most eligible women.
Carla has mentioned her brother on numerous occasions over the past couple of years but not much is known about him apart from him being in his thirties. He hasn't even been named yet.
A spokesperson said: “We are seeing lots of different actors over the next week or so. We have got some exciting storylines lined up for Carla’s brother. He is a character the fans have been keen to meet for some time.”

oh please no??!!!
We really need another bad boy. NOT!!!!!! Let's bet that he will have an affair with Michelle, Maria or possibly St. Ella. How long will it be before he assaults or kills someone
Danny Dyer???? Another authentic northern accent coming up then - perhaps he's being drafted in to make Michelle Collins'' accent seem reasonable!

There was a rumour that the actor who plays Frank Gallagher in Shameless was set to play her brother but he is way too old
Carla's brother has been named as Darren and he served 8 years in Strangeways for Armed Robbery

Jamie Lomas is reportedly being considered for a role in Coronation Street.
The former Hollyoaks actor, whose fiancée Kym Marsh plays Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap, is said to be in the running to play Carla Connor's long-lost brother.

The bad-boy character will be a womaniser and become the new factory boss, arriving in the soap within the next few months. It is unknown whether the character will be permanent, but producers apparently want him to make an impact on the Street.
Marsh reportedly told friends: "I'm so excited. It looks like he's *getting the part."
A friend told the Sunday Mirror: "She is really* *excited by the prospect of working with Jamie. After the ups and downs of the past few weeks, she thinks they should be *spending as much time together as possible.
"She's the first to admit they have a volatile relationship. When he was in America their *relationship was under a bit of strain but Kym put on a brave face. It was *extremely tough on her. The prospect of him moving out there long-term was *worrying.
"But now it looks as though he's going to land regular work, not only in the UK but on Corrie. She couldn't be happier."
Marsh is reportedly about to sign a new contract to stay at Coronation Street for another year.
A show insider added: "We have some *exciting storylines for Carla's brother. He's set to be a brilliant *character.
"We think Jamie would be perfect as a bad-boy womaniser, so we're keen for him to take the part. You never know, he could end up making a play for Kym's *character."
Marsh has previously confessed that she wants Lomas to join Coronation Street.
He was previously said to be in talks to star in a Hollywood movie after spending the past few months looking for work in LA.
Marsh dismissed claims that he had "abandoned" her following reports their relationship was in crisis.

Oh I hope it is as I have a terrible feeling that she won't stop until she get's him a part on Corrie.
Ex-EastEnder Marc Bannerman has revealed he would like to star in Coronation Street as Carla Connor's brother.
The 38-year-old actor played Albert Square geezer Gianni Di Marco 12 years ago, but told Inside Soap he has his eye on the cobbles now.
Marc said: "I'd love to be in another soap. I really loved the relationships we built up in EastEnders, and the fact you get such a long time to develop your character.
"I hear they're casting for Carla Connor's brother in Corrie at the moment - I'd love to do that."
Corrie bosses are on the hunt for an actor to play a mysterious bad boy who will arrive on the soap to help Carla, played by Alison King, run the Underworld factory this summer.
In EastEnder's Marc's character Gianni was the victim of domestic violence at the hands of girlfriend Jackie Owen, played by Race Davies.
He recalled: "That was quite ground-breaking at the time - the man being the victim of the abuse."

Terry Kiely aka Fletch from Dream Team would be good bit strange seeing him though as Carla's brother
Coronation Street bosses have announced that actor Marc Baylis has been cast as Carla Connor's long-lost brother Rob.
Rob will be a new bad boy for the cobbles, arriving in Weatherfield following a stint in prison.
Carla (Alison King) will find that Rob needs her help to make a fresh start as he settles in.
The newcomer will also quickly develop a reputation as a ladies' man, setting his sights on Eva (Catherine Tyldesley) along with other women on the street.
Baylis told itv.com: "I feel incredibly honoured to be joining the very talented cast of Coronation Street. Rob is an exciting character to play and I am hoping he is going to ruffle a few Weatherfield feathers."
Coronation Street's producer Phil Collinson added: "I'm very pleased to welcome Marc to the cast - the latest in a long line of handsome Corrie charmers. Carla's brother Rob is sure to set hearts fluttering in Weatherfield from the minute he arrives. The audience can expect thrills and a few broken hearts when this handsome bad boy hits town."
Baylis's previous TV credits include guest roles on Law and Order: UK, The Bill, Misfits and Sirens.
His first Coronation Street scenes will air in the summer.

I wouldn't count your chickens just yet Voodoo. Ms Marsh won't stop until she has got her man a role on the cobbles. She'll be able to keep an eye on his wondering eye, unless they split up before then.
Coronation Street's Kym Marsh has addressed reports linking fiancé Jamie Lomas to the soap.
Lomas was said to be in the running to play Carla Connor's long-lost brother Rob, speculation that Marsh seemed to confirm in an interview with Digital Spy.
However, the Michelle Connor actress told Soaplife: "It was one big massive rumour. Jamie's not really into joining another soap right now.
"He fancies doing something different, which is one of the reasons he left Hollyoaks. It's nice for him that there was such a buzz about it though."
Lomas, 32, starred in the Channel 4 teen soap as Warren Fox between 2006 and 2011.
Coronation Street bosses earlier this month unveiled Marc Baylis in the role of Carla's brother.
The couple's relationship was recently tested when Lomas was accused of cheating on the former Hear'Say singer.
Coronation Street newcomer Marc Baylis has been pictured at the soap's set for the first time.
The actor, who was recently cast as Carla Connor's long-lost brother Rob Donovan, was seen leaving Granada Studios with new co-star Kym Marsh (Michelle) after filming earlier today (May 29).
Baylis and Marsh posed for a picture together after being spotted by photographers.

Coronation Street chiefs officially unveiled Baylis as Rob earlier this month. The 34-year-old has previously appeared in Law and Order: UK, The Bill, Misfits and Sirens.
As announced on May 17, show bosses are also bringing back the character of Ryan Connor, now played by Sol Heras.
Rob and Ryan will be shaking up life on the cobbles from July.

^ Does he get with Michelle so?
^ Does he get with Michelle so?
I imagine so, and Maria no doubt. Glad they chose Marc and not Jamie Lomas for the role, much better looking
It's no secret that newcomer Rob Donovan and returnee Ryan Connor will be shaking up life on Coronation Street from July, and a couple of new spoilers have emerged today about their early storylines.
The summer soap preview in this week's TV Times reveals that Carla's brother Rob, played by Marc Baylis, turns up on the cobbles just as the factory boss is having a big bust-up with Peter.
Rob immediately gets involved by jumping to Carla's defence as she rows with her partner, leaving Peter stunned when he discovers the identity of the new arrival.
As we reported a while ago, Rob will be helping to look after Underworld while Carla takes her break from Weatherfield.
It has also now been revealed that Rob hires Eva Price as a machinist for the factory, which will no doubt lead to their rumoured romance storyline. It's unclear whether this will be a permanent arrangement, but it could be a good opportunity to see Eva interacting with some new characters.
The big story for Ryan's return will be his drugs problem, but viewers will also see him causing trouble from the very beginning as he accidentally starts a fire at Number 13 in some of his first scenes. We're guessing it will just be a small fire, but perhaps this is how the house's owner Steve gets back involved in Michelle's life with the recent news that the pair could be reuniting.
Look out for Rob's arrival on July 9 and Ryan's return on July 18.
Other notable snippets from the new TV Times issue, which is out today, include the news that Maria and Jason's friends will be trying to get them together in July, and that Kirsty's next furious outburst will be overheard by the neighbours...
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has praised the soap's new recruit Marc Baylis, hailing him as "brilliant" to work with.
The pair are currently thought to be filming a number of scenes together, as their characters Eva Price and Rob Donovan have been tipped for an upcoming romance storyline.
Rob is the long-lost brother of businesswoman Carla Connor, who arrives in Weatherfield following a stint in jail. Baylis's casting as Rob was announced last month, while his first scenes will air on July 9.
Tyldesley told Digital Spy of the upcoming storyline: "I don't want to give away too much, but Rob is going to be the fresh meat on the street and Eva is certainly attracted to him, because he does have charm and power.
"There's definitely something about him - he's very, very charming!"
She continued: "I actually did the screen tests when they were casting for Rob. Marc stood out for me, and I did let the casting panel know that. There's just something about him - there was a way that he went about creating the character that absolutely clicked.
"Marc is brilliant to work with - he's such a good laugh and we get on really well, which has made things a lot easier. When you're doing intimate scenes or you've got to pair up with somebody, it does help when you get on with them in real life. It's been great and it's working really well."
In the meantime, Coronation Street fans see heartbreak for Eva this week as her ex-boyfriend Nick Tilsley and half-sister Leanne decide to reunite.
Coronation Street newcomer Marc Baylis has warned that there is an "edgy" and "dangerous" side to his character Rob Donovan.
Rob, who is the brother of businesswoman Carla Connor, arrives in Weatherfield next week following a stint in jail.
Baylis told itv.com of Rob's personality: "The way I'm playing him is neither black nor white. He is a hard worker and family is very important to him, although he does have a very edgy side to him. When pushed or angered, I think he can be quite dangerous.
"He has done a lot of courses to better himself in prison, but he has also met a lot of people who could help him out if he needed it. However, I think at the moment he is trying to stay on the straight and narrow as he tries to prove himself to Carla."
Revealing how Rob ended up in prison, the actor continued: "It was more of a one-off. Rob was the driver in a post office robbery - he was trying to gather £5,000 to pay off his mother's debts to a drug dealer.
"He felt Carla should have been there, because Rob thinks she would have had the money to help them out. He feels she disassociated herself from the rest of the family by abandoning them."
As Digital Spy revealed a few weeks ago, Rob later gets on better terms with Carla (Alison King), agreeing to take care of Underworld during her four-month break from Weatherfield.
Baylis added: "He is disappointed that she is leaving, as he really wants to re-establish a relationship with his sister. He finds it hard to understand her reasons for leaving at first, but he trusts his sister's judgement and he is happy to take over Underworld while she is away.
"Rob sees this as the perfect opportunity to prove himself, and enjoys working with Michelle. He respects his sister and is there to support her."
Coronation Street airs Rob's first scenes next Monday (July 9) on ITV1.
Coronation Street's Marc Baylis has revealed that his 88-year-old nan inspired him to audition for the soap.
Baylis, who plays ex-convict Rob Donovan, told The Sun that he promised his nan he'd get a role on the show last year.
"I told my nan about a year ago that I would get a part in Corrie," the 34-year-old actor explained. "I asked her what show she would most like to see me in and she said Coronation Street. So I said I would try my best."
"It was a whimsical promise and I never expected it to be a part like this one," he added.
"If I'd got a small scene walking into the Rovers or down the street, she would still have been happy. But obviously that conversation sowed the seeds. She was one of the first people I told when I got the part. Although when I told her she said she quite likes Emmerdale now!"
Baylis will appear on screen next week, as his wayward character intervenes during a fight between sister Carla Connor and Peter Barlow. The actor admitted that he battled nerves when filming his opening scenes.
"Obviously nerves come into play - it's the same with anyone starting a new job but I couldn't go in thinking, 'Oh my goodness, I'm pinning Peter Barlow up against the wall'. It was all about keeping focused," he explained.
"But that doesn't mean to say that at times when I'm in between scenes I don't go, 'Oh, I'm in Coronation Street!'" he added. "I got that feeling the first time I walked into the Rovers, but you've just got to adjust to it as quickly as you can."
Baylis graduated from theatre school in 2000 and despite small parts in Hollyoaks, Doctors and EastEnders, he spent time working in call centres and managing a health bar as he struggled on the breadline.
"12 years of very hard work have led to Coronation Street," he said. "This is a dream job, I'm extremely proud to have it, and long may it last!"
Coronation Street newcomer Rob Donovan shakes up his own love life next week by dumping feisty Eva Price - and making a play for her mother Stella!
As reported at the weekend, Rob is furious with Eva in the coming days after she vengefully sabotages an Underworld order to cause trouble for Karl Munro, shortly after he has been hired at the factory.
While Rob's initial anger may be understandable, what exactly is his game when he later starts flirting with a shocked Stella?
Digital Spy recently chatted to Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, to hear more about the storyline and how he's settling in on the cobbles.
How have you found your time at Coronation Street so far?
"I'm absolutely loving it, and it's really started coming into its own over the past few weeks. There's obviously a settling in period when you join the show, but we got that out of the way really quickly, as the whole gang here have just been brilliant.
"Also, as there's been a big workload with the way Rob has been brought into the show, I've not really had much time to think about it! It's just a case of getting on with the job and doing the best we can to get the character up and running. It's all very good at the moment."
So far, there are things we know about Rob, but it feels like there's also some things we don't. How do you describe him to people?
"I think you're absolutely right that it does seem like a lot is being held back with the character at the moment. I'm really liking that, as it's good to have a bit of mystery in place - I'm trying to keep that alive as much as possible.
"My point of view is that we're still at the stage where Rob is making a fresh start in his life. I don't want the audience to forget that he's just out of prison, which means it's the first time that he's been in civilisation for a few years. So he's finding his feet with a whole new life and doing the best that he can. There's a lot more to come from him, too."
Next week, we see Rob start flirting with Stella. What is he up to?
"Well, I'm sure that any hot-blooded male out there would probably agree that she is a hot lady! There's a cheeky glint in her eye that he's latched onto - he definitely finds that attractive.
"It's purely the fact that he does think Stella is very hot. There's no boundaries for Rob where women are concerned. Even though he's been spending a bit of time with Eva, he's up for having a bit of fun elsewhere."
Does Stella reject Rob, or is she tempted?
"It's not an outright refusal - it's just a bit of teasing and a bit of flirting that's going on. I think Rob's pushing that as far as he possibly can, to see how far he can get with the situation!
"Rob also wants to put a bit of a smile on Stella's face, because he knows exactly what's been going on with Karl. It's not necessarily harmless fun, but he's definitely working to cheer her up a bit."
Why is Rob losing interest in Eva?
"He's up for playing the field a bit. Also, when Eva sabotages an order at the factory, he isn't best pleased about it. That's what casts a doubt in his mind and leads to him dumping her."
Eva usually doesn't take rejection very well, so how does she react?
"She's very disappointed, but Rob does let her down as gently as he possibly can, as he's very aware of the heartbreak she's had in the past. He's not so callous as to throw her out to the wolves, but there's also a little bit of cheekiness that you'll see when it airs on screen. That'll reveal a side of Rob which we've not seen yet."
There's been some discussion about Michelle and Rob, too. Do you think they'd ever become a couple?
"My lips are sealed on this situation! Who knows? They go back many, many years so there's a lot of history between the two of them, and it's no surprise that they get on well. I think the question would be whether a relationship for them would be too close to home, but time will tell."
We've also recently seen Ryan Connor in a bit of trouble. Do you think Rob could help him in the future, or will they be enemies on the Street?
"Ryan has been pushing Rob to the limit in a few situations now, and Rob's patience has been running very, very thin, so I think it'll be an amalgamation of the two. With Rob's history, he does understand how easy it is to get into trouble. There is some guidance in play, but Rob also has a short fuse. Anything could happen - especially in a situation where Rob is pushed to the limit."
With Sol Heras taking over as Ryan, was it nice to have a fellow newcomer joining Corrie at a similar time to you?
"Yeah, definitely. It's been a nice bit of support that we've been sharing. Corrie is a very different experience from what we've both had professionally before, so we're both adapting to it together. We've become really good mates and he's a good laugh."
You only had a few episodes with your on-screen sister Alison King (Carla) before she went on her break. Are you looking forward to her return?
"I can't wait - I think there's a lot of unfinished business between the two siblings. That will come to light later in the year when Alison returns. As I've said before in other interviews, Alison was remarkable with the way she helped me to settle in. She's an absolute joy to work with, and I think we've already got some good sibling chemistry in place - in one sense they're rivals, but they also support each other.
"I think it'll be a very interesting time when Carla returns to the street, but there's still a few months' worth of events ahead before that happens, so I'll leave that one open!"
Apart from Sol, who have you particularly made friends with on set?
"To be honest with you, there's no segregation that goes on here. It's not a situation where you'll always be working with the same people, as it's a real ensemble piece and everybody's got each other's backs. There's a great support unit and it's very tight-knit, so I couldn't name names as there's a real community here."
Has Corrie changed your life much, or is it early days in terms of being recognised?
"It's definitely changed my life. I've been all over the country over the past fortnight or so, and irrespective of where I've been, the recognition has already started to kick in. I think the sooner that starts up, the quicker that you can deal with it. It's a new lifestyle and something you have to get used to."
How does Corrie compare to your previous work?
"It's a world apart, really! But any actor will tell you that every job is always so very different from the last one. Here, it's a real mix of age groups that you're working with, and that's one of the joys of the job. It's one of the reasons that I wanted to join the show, as variety is the spice of life.
"It's very hard work, and I fully respect anyone who's worked in a job like this, especially those who've done it for a number of years. It's a constant turnover and incredibly quick, so if you're not on your game, then you're in trouble! I think that's something that often gets overlooked."
Corrie is obviously a big break for actors. Has it felt like a long journey to get to this point in your career?
"Yeah - I graduated from drama school in 2000, so this is my 12th year. It's been a real plethora of different types of work, so I've been very lucky and fortunate, but it's also a result of hard work as you don't get anything for nothing! It's an absolute privilege to now be working on such a big show."

I think Michelle will cheat on Steve this time around with Rob
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has confirmed that Michelle Connor is his character Rob Donovan's dream woman.
Rob will embark on a relationship with Weatherfield schemer Tracy Barlow in an upcoming storyline, but Baylis told Radio Times that the sacked factory manager really wishes he was dating Michelle (Kym Lomas).
Baylis commented: "Watch this space - interestingly, Tracy Barlow comes onto his radar. That is an interesting combination. Without a doubt, he sees something of himself in Tracy and finds her intriguing!"
Of his alter ego's womanising ways, the actor continued: "He's always having a bit of fun and a good time. He's making up for those years in prison, but ideally he would like [his girlfriend] to be Michelle. We all know how he feels."
Rob has made no secret of his interest in Michelle, but she is currently in a relationship with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
Show insiders have tipped Rob's upcoming romance with Tracy (Kate Ford) to be "toxic", as one of the main reasons they get together is to unsettle Michelle and Steve's happiness.
Coronation Street continues on Friday (January 4) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
Read more: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s3/coronation-street/news/a448213/coronation-street-star-marc-baylis-teases-rob-tracy-michelle-plot.html#ixzz2pKyAkdXm
Coronation Street businessman Rob Donovan is a man on a mission in his current storyline as he hopes to show his sister Carla Connor that she was wrong to sack him from the factory.
The Weatherfield charmer lost his job at Underworld after trying to scam Carla (Alison King), but is now plotting to steal away her clients as he attempts to become a success on his own terms.
We recently caught up with Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, to hear his thoughts on the storyline and his time on the cobbles so far.
How easy has it been to settle in at Coronation Street?
"It's been the easiest start to any job that I've ever had. The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant. Because everyone's working so hard, there needs to be an element of fun at the same time. Without that fun, it would just be a lot of hard graft! But the balance is very fine-tuned and it's been an absolute joy over the past seven months."
Are you pleased to be exploring the Rob and Carla dynamic properly now that Alison King is back on set?
"Absolutely. While Ali was away, it did give me time to establish Rob as a character without his sister there, which I think has worked out quite well.
"But the whole reason for Rob being brought into the show was to have that sibling relationship - whether it's rivalry or the two characters working together. We're building up the Connor clan, so it's been absolutely fantastic to have her back."
Is there a part of Rob that understands why Carla had to sack him?
"Definitely, he totally understands where Carla's coming from. At the end of the day, he did fiddle around with the figures in order to buy the factory at a low price.
"But the way that I was playing those scenes - and wanted it to come across - was that Rob hoped to buy the factory to help Carla in the long-run. He didn't want her to miss out and for things to change drastically at Underworld, after all of the hard work she'd put in to build it up to where it is."
Does Rob think it's unfair that Carla hasn't sacked Michelle too for keeping quiet about the scam?
"He doesn't, because he knows that he was responsible for putting Michelle in a difficult position in the first place. There's no grievances between Rob and Michelle. I don't think Rob would ever want to have bad blood with Michelle!"
Why has Rob decided to rival Carla in the business world?
"At the end of the day, Rob has got to earn a living, and this area is the background that he's got now. While Carla was away, Rob made a lot of contacts. He's setting himself up for the future, but obviously getting a bit of revenge against Carla at the same time."
How far is Rob willing to take this?
"He's just taking it as it comes, but what he ends up doing is outsourcing the work rather than setting up a brand new factory. It's contractual work more than anything else that he's operating on at the moment."
Is Carla worried when Rob starts to become successful in winning clients?
"Rob certainly hopes so! That's his whole objective - he wants to make Carla realise that her business has been doing well because of him managing all of these clients and building up new relationships too.
"It's a case of making Carla realise what she's missing by sacking Rob, so that's the ultimate goal. In the end, Carla does offer Rob his job back. But I think Rob's already proved enough of a point to realise that offering his job back isn't quite enough…"
Can these two siblings ever find a way to work together?
"Oh, definitely, as they do love each other deep down. They're brother and sister and there's not many of the family left. If there was a situation aside from work where Carla needed Rob, he would be there in a split second for her.
"There is a rivalry there, but I think they want to look out for each other in the long-run."
Do you see Rob as a nice guy yourself?
"Whenever I'm playing Rob, I have to like him. What I try to do - even if I personally disagree with whatever he's doing - is try to understand the reasons why he's acting the way he is.
"As I mentioned earlier, with the fraud storyline, in my head Rob genuinely wanted to help Carla in the long-run. I think there's a moral grounding there."
When it comes to Rob's love life, could he ever be a one-woman man?
"I don't know in all honesty, because he's never been in that situation! He's been in prison for eight years, and he's only been out for a few months now. If it was the right relationship, then I would say yes. But if it's not the right relationship, then who knows?"
Michelle seems to be the one woman that Rob likes more than any other…
"Yeah, without a doubt. There's always been that connection between them since childhood, so there's a lot of history there. That history hasn't been seen on screen because Rob's been inside, but hopefully that will materialise in the future."
As Rob and Tracy are expected to have a relationship soon, what kind of a dynamic can we expect between those two?
"There's a lot of joyful banter - they challenge each other in a fun way. They're quite similar, they can see those similarities and they do have a lot of fun together. They put a smile on each other's faces, and we'll just have to see how it goes from there."
Tracy can be quite a dangerous character sometimes. Can Rob hold his own with her?
"Definitely, otherwise he wouldn't get involved. He is aware of the whole situation that happened with Ryan last year, but he's got a few more years on Ryan and he's been round the block a few times.
"Rob definitely wouldn't get involved in something that he didn't think he could handle. But Rob does have an arrogant side, and he feels like he could deal with anything. That's one of Rob's main flaws!
"I've really enjoyed working with Kate Ford on the storyline - we've had an absolute blast. We've been working a lot together, and hopefully the working relationship that we've built up behind the scenes will come across on screen. I'm looking forward to seeing that unfold myself."
Will Rob and Tracy cause trouble for some of the other characters?
"Definitely, but I won't go too much into that one!"
With the NTAs coming up, why should we be voting for all things Corrie?
"Well, I think the work speaks for itself. There's obviously been a lot of tension with all of the storylines involved, especially when it comes to Natalie [Gumede] and Alan [Halsall] and their abuse storyline. They've both done an incredible job with it and they're both up for prizes.
"There's been a lot of focus on the surrogacy storyline too, and that's why Michelle Keegan's been nominated - she's doing a fantastic job with that as well. I don't see any reason why we shouldn't be getting the votes that those storylines deserve, and hopefully we'll win the big one - the 'Best Serial Drama' prize - as well!"

Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has revealed that Rob Donovan's feud with Peter Barlow will develop into a big storyline this summer.
Rob and Peter (Chris Gascoyne) have recently found themselves at odds, and their rivalry has intensified this week as Carla Connor has forced her brother and partner to work together at the betting shop.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning today (May 1), Baylis explained that the recent sniping between the two men is just a taster of bigger material to come.
Baylis commented: "You'll see over the summer, this is just the beginning of it more than anything else."
Asked whether Rob will be showing a dark side, the actor replied: "Without a doubt! This is the whole precipice that's being set up at the moment. It does erupt in the bookies. It's really nice at the moment with Rob being in there. The reason why he's there is because of Carla. We're working closely-knit as siblings for the first time in a while, which has been really nice.
"But it is that rivalry and the fact that Rob doesn't think Peter is good enough for Carla. That's what's underneath it all, and it gets a bit dirty."
He continued: "They're trying to get the right pecking order. Rob's with Tracy now and she's coercing him and whispering in his ear.
"This is basically what's going to be happening all over the summer. The rivalry takes hold more than anything else. Basically Rob and Tracy want to be Peter and Carla. They want to be successful. It's the ambition and the drive that creates that pride that makes the arguments happen - and Rob, I think stupidly, tries to stitch his sister up."
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has admitted that he felt under pressure when he took on the role of Rob Donovan.
The actor landed the part of Carla Connor's brother a year ago, but the character had often been mentioned in previous scripts.
Speaking on ITV's This Morning today (May 1), Baylis commented: "There was a lot of pressure with actually starting the character of Rob, because so many people have got strong ideas of what he's going to be like. But the actual first day of being on set and everything, it literally was, 'Welcome, bang, here we go'.
"I'm still learning on a daily basis. You never know what's going to happen, you never know what's going to come up. I'm still learning lots about the job - it's very different from what I've done before."
Baylis said that it was important for Rob to "hit the ground running" in storylines.
He explained: "I think the reason for that is because Rob's been talked about for so long, being Carla's brother and all that jazz. I think there was a lot of anticipation about him.
"If he didn't come in and kick off straight away, it wouldn't have fed the want for the character, and the drive that obviously the writers have got for him.

Marc Baylis has revealed that toxic Tracy will be Rob's 'Lady Macbeth', as he hatches a plan to scam Carla.
Fed up with being treated like a dogsbody in the bookies by Peter, Rob phones his big sister Carla and demands that she does something about it.
Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, said: "Peter keeps challenging and questioning Rob... Things really explode. Rivalry kicks off within that space and the whole atmosphere becomes quite unpleasant."
Rob is furious with Carla's solution, which is to have him working in the packing department at the factory, despite the fact he holds a 30% share of the business.
"Tracy fuels Rob in true Lady Macbeth style to pull a scam out of the bag." Marc Baylis on Rob and Tracy.
Sick of relying on his sister for support, and with Tracy dripping poison into his ear, Rob decides to hustle Carla out of £20,000.
"Rob takes things into his own hands by stealing Carla's silk and setting himself up. The whole plan is for Rob to find his own feet and out of Underworld to become self-sufficient."
Determined to compete with Carla and Peter, devious Tracy is on hand to play her part in the act of betrayal
"There’s a huge rivalry between the lifestyle Peter and Carla can afford and the lifestyle Tracy and Rob have." Marc Baylis on Rob and Tracy versus Carla and Peter.
"Tracy seriously pulls it out of the bag and her lies are through the roof! Something happens which even Rob isn’t expecting; so much so that even Rob thinks it’s actually happened."
With a criminal record to his name, Rob could face prison if Carla uncovers his wrong-doings.
"Rob has an underlying belief that because of their family ties and their past, Carla will not send him back to that place or even report him for the crime. He’s definitely pushing his luck and that’s a chance he takes, but it’s more through Tracy coercing and guiding him that makes him go through with it," said Marc.
Marc Baylis has warned that his character Rob Donovan may be messing with the wrong person when he tries to scam his sister Carla Connor.
This week's episodes see Rob steal £20,000 worth of silk from the Underworld boss after he gets fed up with her lack of respect for him.
Rob teams up with his scheming girlfriend Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) to pull off the scam, pretending that the expensive material was stolen when Tracy was doing a delivery job for the factory.
Unfortunately for Rob, his plan isn't a total success as Carla (Alison King) is quick to smell a rat. She then becomes determined to find out whether Rob has betrayed her.
Baylis told itv.com: "Rob always thinks that he'll get away with anything. As far as he's concerned, once the silk's in his back pocket as such and has been stashed away safely, all he's got to do is find a buyer.
"Carla thinks nothing is ever 100% legit with Rob, so she obviously starts playing a few of her games behind the scenes and starts chasing Rob and tries to find out exactly what he's up to."
He added: "Is there a family war brewing on the horizon? We'll have to wait until we get to the horizon, but I'd definitely say that something is brewing!"
Coronation Street continues tonight (May 20) at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
I can't get into the other 2 threads on Rob therefore maybe 3rd thread lucky.
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has predicted that his character Rob Donovan can get back on friendly terms with sister Carla Connor.
Sibling rivalry between the pair exploded last month as Carla (Alison King) discovered that Rob and his scheming girlfriend Tracy Barlow had stolen £20,000 worth of silk from her.
However, speaking to TV Extra magazine, Baylis explained: "I think the relationship will recover. They have a deep understanding of each other and they are the only blood relatives each has at the moment.
"Alison and I have a really nice balance in playing those moments when they are close, and then when they are fighting and competing with each other. It's all very deep-rooted. That's why it can seem very harsh, because it's based on unpleasant things from their childhood."
Discussing Rob's future, he continued: "Rob starts up on his own with Tracy at his side, so it's the first time we see him standing on his own two feet. It's a whole new chapter for him."
Baylis also tipped Rob and Tracy to stay together for a while yet.
He said: "I do think they will be together for a certain amount of time, but I think there are hidden feelings for Michelle remaining. That's why it's so great now, because I've been here a year and have built up relationships with the different characters rather than having to think on my feet."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
For our latest exclusive Inside Soap Awards chat, we caught up with Coronation Street actor Marc Baylis, who's up for the 'Best Newcomer' prize at this year's ceremony.
Here, Marc tells us about his first year on screen as charmer Rob Donovan and shares some teasers on upcoming storylines for the character.
How do you feel about being in the running for 'Best Newcomer'?
"It's great. Obviously it's an honour to be up there with the other nominees, as it's not an easy feat to get a character to settle into a long-running drama. It's nice from a personal point of view, but a large group of people have come together to get the character to this stage - first and foremost the producers and the writers, and also my colleagues who I'm working alongside. I definitely pass the baton and share that around!"
Do you think the show is in with a good chance at the awards in general this year?
"Absolutely. The standard of the show has been maintained very highly over the past year, so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't do well. At the same time, I know other shows work equally as hard. It really is a case of whether we'll get enough votes from the viewers, and fingers crossed that will happen!"
Rob has featured prominently on screen over the summer. Are you pleased with the way it's all been going?
"Definitely. Since Rob and Tracy have got together, I think the mischievous levels have gone through the roof with my character! I'm loving working with Kate Ford, who plays Tracy, as she's absolutely brilliant at what she does, and I think the material itself has been really good.
"It was a great achievement to get in the bookies, no matter how Rob got hold of it! To be in the show for a year and to now have our own shop on the set is fantastic. Hopefully the trouble with Rob and Tracy will continue."
What's your take on the feud between Rob and Peter?
"I think a lot of it stems from the fact that Peter is with Carla, and Rob is very protective over his sister, irrespective of the way they've been arguing. Underlying everything, there is love between the siblings and Rob wants the best for Carla. It's also the fact that there are a lot of similarities between Rob and Peter, so there are a lot of locked horns and I've really enjoyed playing those scenes with Chris Gascoyne.
"Hopefully that's something that will continue for a while, as I really enjoy that storyline of having two males at loggerheads."
Do you think their differences will have to be resolved at some point?
"If anything, I'd like their differences to get worse! The feud is definitely far from finished at the moment. Rob and Tracy have got the lease on the shop for only six months, so I'm sure that will crop up again.
"Also, with Peter and Carla's wedding coming up, I'm sure Rob and Tracy will be in the mix there - stirring up as much trouble as they possibly can! They're definitely not in support of the wedding…"
Have the viewers taken sides in the feud?
"Hopefully they're split! I don't think the story has been written to be one-sided, as a mixed response is what works best when there are feuds on the street. We want some viewers to be siding with Peter and Carla, and others to be siding with Rob and Tracy.
"There are also arguments that Rob and Tracy have between themselves, and we want the audience to be divided on those too. That's a key part of drama, and long may it continue being ambiguous."
Kate said in one of her recent interviews that she isn't sure whether Rob and Tracy really love each other. What are your thoughts on that?
"This is an area that we're venturing into at the moment, so the story will unfold and answer that question for you! I don't really want to give too much away about whether it's a genuine love, but they do get on very well and have a great relationship.
"They have fun, they push each other, and they get a lot of enjoyment out of each other. But as for whether they love each other, I'll leave that one to develop with the storyline…"
Could you ever see Rob change his ways and become more of a family man with Tracy and Amy?
"Time will tell! Some people mature in different ways, but it could be too soon for Rob as he's really not ready to become a father. He's been behind bars for a number of years, so now he's just testing the water.
"The thing about Rob is that he's got a lot of barriers up after his time in jail, so he wants to avoid getting into situations too soon. He's got a few scars and wounds that we've yet to open and heal. Settling down would be too soon, but he does have fun with Tracy."
We all know that Deirdre doesn't like Rob very much, but what's it been like to film with Anne Kirkbride?
"It's been an absolute privilege! Anne is one of the biggest figures on the show. Even though we've done a lot of scenes together now, there are still times when we're in the Barlows' and it shocks me that I'm working with her.
"That's one of the reasons why I took on the challenge of this job, because you get an opportunity to work with actors of a very high calibre. It's the same with Ali King, Chris and Kate. I'm very fortunate to be working with the people I'm working with."
We've heard that Tina will soon be causing some trouble for Tracy and Rob. What can you tell us about that?
"A situation develops at the shop where Tina, Dennis and Rita get involved, and they all feel that Rob and Tracy are ripping them off. That's a catalyst for a dispute which we're filming at the moment. It's very good material, and a good opportunity to branch out and make the webs thicker with the shop storyline.
"I can't say much more than that, but there's some really strong stuff to come."
Would you like the writers to delve into Rob and Carla's history and family life more?
"Absolutely. It's a massive avenue which we can explore over the next year. There's a lot to unravel with the pasts of both characters. When [producer] Stuart Blackburn came on board, we delved into that a bit more and brought out a few more home truths. We saw exactly where they both were coming from as individuals, which culminated in the massive row over the stolen silk.
"Those situations still aren't resolved. There's a lot that we're hearing on the inside about what will come up in the next year, and hopefully that will give a few more answers - but not too quickly!"

Coronation Street's Rob Donovan is unable to resist temptation next week as Tina McIntyre starts flirting with him.
As seen in pictures released at the weekend, Tina (Michelle Keegan) shares a surprise kiss with Rob after becoming fed up with Peter Barlow blowing hot and cold with her.
Here, Marc Baylis - who plays Rob - explains why his character is unfaithful to girlfriend Tracy.
How would you describe Rob's feelings for Tracy?
"Rob's really fond of Tracy and he likes her a lot. They have a good relationship and they bounce off one another.
"As Rob is a bit of a flash in the pan, he doesn't really plan or look too far into the future. As far as serious relationships go, this is probably the biggest he's ever had. He's not adverse to a future with Tracy though, and I think if it came down to it, he'd probably commit to her for the long haul."
How does Rob feel about Tracy's behaviour since they got the shop?
"Tracy has not always played ball as far as the shop is concerned, and that's been troubling Rob a fair bit. With his track record, he's been keen to play it straight this time and get things right, so he wasn't best pleased when she pulled a fast one with Dennis over Rita's ring! Rob makes Tracy aware when he's not happy though, and I think he's happy to let her know that she either plays it straight or needs to walk away."
Has working together every day taken the romance out of their relationship?
"Funnily enough no, I think if anything it's brought them closer together. It's given them something that's theirs for them to take seriously together. When they worked in the factory I think they were both happy to play games and live dangerously, but I think their new business has brought an element of domesticity into the mix that has brought them closer."
Tracy is keen to let Rob know she's his equal not his employee.
How relieved is Rob about reconciling with Carla?
"Making up with Carla was a big relief for Rob. He felt as though a big weight had been lifted off his shoulders. He never wanted to be neck and neck with Carla. It's Peter that Rob has got a problem with, but Rob never wanted that to come between him and Carla. She's the only family he's got and he loves his sister so he was really pleased to be invited to the wedding, even though he doesn't agree with her being with Peter whatsoever!
"Rob and Peter can't stand each other and nothing has changed there. They are complete arch-enemies, but they have this unwritten rule, this silent pact now. They both have Carla's best interests at hearts and they know they have to stop their battling for her sake."
Given their history of animosity, is Rob surprised when Tina starts to flirt with him?
"I think the whole business between Tina and Rob and Tracy was actually more just Tina versus Tracy! I think Rob got caught up in that and tried to do anything for an easy life and squash any trouble between them.
"Rob's a red-blooded male at the end of the day, so when attractive women flirt so outwardly with him, he's on dangerous ground! Rob struggles to resist. He can have a laugh with Tina too, so he does flirt back with her.
"I think most men in Weatherfield think Tina is extremely attractive. She has energy about her that he really likes. I think she's always caught his eye a little bit."
Why do they end up kissing?
"They're playing games with each other. The thing with Rob is that he can't resist a challenge. He'll always rise to the bait, and Tina challenges him. They're both pushing each other while they are flirting and it's all about game playing. That's how it happens."

How worried is Rob when Carla catches them kissing?
"He's bricking it. Not because of Carla - Rob trusts her not to tell Tracy and Carla seems to find the whole thing amusing. He's just worried about her going home and telling Peter, his enemy, who also happens to be his girlfriend's brother! He's really panicked."
Does Carla want Rob to pursue Tina?
"She does actually, yes. She thinks it would be a great idea for him and Tina to be together. Carla can imagine him with someone more like Tina rather than Tracy, although that is probably just Carla wishful thinking! She does egg him on a little bit."

What do you think Tracy would do if she found out?
"It's not even worth thinking about! She'd kill him. I don't know that he's necessarily afraid of Tracy, but he knows she's not one to mess around with. God knows what she'd do to him!"
Do you think there'd be a big reaction if Rob found out about Tina and Peter?
"He'd have to play it very carefully actually. I don't think he'd be able to have a knee jerk reaction. At the end of the day, Peter's still his landlord for the business, so he has that to think about. But then Carla's his sister and he's always been protective of her where Peter's concerned. I don't think Peter would be in a good place."
How have you found this latest storyline?
"It's been absolutely brilliant. I'm working with some great people and I really enjoy working with Chris [Gascoyne, who plays Peter]. The writing has really gone up a gear for Rob, which I'm really pleased with. I just hope we've done the scripts justice. It's been a lot of fun."

Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has teased a big year ahead for his character Rob Donovan.
Viewers saw Rob share a kiss with Tina McIntyre at the end of last year and Baylis has now confirmed that Tracy will discover his betrayal over the next few weeks.
Speaking on ITV's Lorraine this morning (January 22), Baylis said: "Tracy won't be happy. I have been given the green light to announce that Tracy does find out in a couple of weeks. Rob is in trouble.
"That is the best part about playing Rob - I haven't got a clue which direction he is going to go in. For the last 18 months, I think that is what we have been setting up. It is going to be a big year for Rob."
Baylis also reiterated that the cast are still in the dark over Tina's exit storyline. Show bosses have confirmed that Tina will be killed later this year, but exact details of how she meets her demise and who is responsible have so far been kept under wraps.
He said: "I think that is going to be a massive storyline. We don't know what is going on yet and the scripts haven't been released. I think it is mid-April that we are going to be shooting all of that. It'll be a good story."
Baylis also praised the show for its hard-hitting scenes earlier this week, which saw Hayley Cropper end her own life using a lethal cocktail of drugs, determined to control her death while she still could.
He said: "Credit to everyone for what happened on Monday night. Personally, I think it is brilliant that we have tackled that subject.
"I think, get people talking, read everything that is in different papers with different opinions, and form your own opinion. There is nothing wrong with that so I think it is a very proud week for the show.
Speaking about his Most Popular Newcomer nomination at tonight's National Television Awards, Baylis added: "I think all four of us that have got to this stage should be proud of where we are at.
"I got a new suit yesterday just to make sure I that I look alright. I am just going to enjoy it. "

Rob Donovan faces a tough time next week as he is forced to face Tina McIntyre's funeral.
Although Rob is desperate to avoid the emotional service due to his guilt over Tina's demise, he realises that he has to attend in support of his sister Carla.
Here, Marc Baylis - who plays Rob - reveals the latest story developments and discusses the news that he will be leaving the soap later this year.
How would you describe Rob's feelings about Peter at the moment?
"Rob hates Peter. He thinks Peter is a loser and he blames him for everything that happened. Rob never felt he was good enough for Carla."
How does Rob feel about framing Peter for his own crime of killing Tina?
"Rob has totally justified it in his mind. He genuinely feels that although Peter didn't commit the actual murder, if Peter hadn't had the affair and started drinking again, then Tina wouldn't be dead. Rob wouldn't have had to go and see Tina that night. For Rob it was always about family and protecting Carla and his business."
How does Rob feel after Carla and Peter have got drunk together?
"The last thing Rob wants is them getting closer and Carla starting to realise that Peter was not the killer. It is crucial for him to keep dripping the poison in Carla's ear and get her believing that Peter murdered Tina."
Is Carla Rob's main priority now?
"Carla and Tracy are Rob's priorities. If it ever looked like they were going to take the rap for the murder, he would not have let that happen - he would die for them and confess, but as it is Peter in the frame he has no issue with that."
Is part of Rob glad that Tina is dead, because of what she did to Carla?
"Rob really tries not to think about Tina, as he is just focusing on Peter. He has demons and he is a man on the edge, but he has to keep a cool head. If he started to think about Tina, he would not be able to cope with the guilt."
Is Rob's main aim to run Peter out of Weatherfield or frame him for Tina's murder?
"Rob wants Peter arrested and charged. He knows that Peter is the main suspect and once the police have got their man, the pressure would be off him. He wouldn't really want Peter to disappear as that would not be the end of it."
Why does Rob go to Tina's funeral?
"It is the last thing he wants to do. He had no plans to go at all, but Carla asks him to go with her. He has told Carla that he is there for her, even more so since she lost the baby. It wouldn't look suspicious if he didn't go, as at no point does anyone have any suspicions about him in relation to Tina's murder - but he knows he can't let Carla down."
Why does Rob fight with Peter at the funeral?
"Peter turns up drunk and sits brooding in the church. Carla is really upset and it pushes Rob over the edge. It is weeks of guilt and anger at Peter that all comes to a head. Afterwards Rob and Peter are both taken away by the police."
Does Carla have any suspicions of Rob after that?
"None at all. This is the thing that is making it so easy for Rob to be mouthing off about Peter - it isn't as if anyone has any suspicions about Rob, and he has no motive for attacking Tina that anyone is aware of. Only the viewers know that they had words and that she was threatening to expose him and Tracy."
How does Carla cope with the funeral?
"Carla is in a bad way. At this point she is still a suspect and Rob is determined to be there for her. The last thing he wants is Carla in the frame for the murder he committed."
How have the public reacted to you since Rob was revealed as the killer?
"I have actually been really pleased with the reaction. It is mostly jokey and people saying 'Oi Rob!' or asking if they are safe around me. I just laugh and tell them it's okay as I haven't got my iron bar with me! With this sort of storyline you just have to roll with it and it's great that people are engaging with the story and enjoying it so much."
How do you feel about the story?
"It is a fantastic honour and privilege to be given the responsibility of being at the centre of such a huge storyline. When I was first told about it I was shocked, but then really pleased to be playing a character that will be in the show's history alongside other killers like Richard Hillman and John Stape.
"I'm also blessed with all the actors I get to work with on this show. As well as Ali and Chris who are amazing, I also love working with Kate Ford. Rob and Tracy's relationship has been a huge part of cementing him as a character and getting to know more about him. And now I am working with William Roache and Anne Kirkbride which is just a joy!"
What kind of future is Rob facing?
"Well once you are told that you are going to murder someone in a soap, you know that your time is limited. I do know when I am leaving but there are still so many twists and turns in the storyline that I don't want to reveal that just yet."
Is Rob happy with Tracy?
"Rob and Tracy are a perfect match. He certainly wasn't looking to settle down and he had a few wobbles along the way, but Tracy took him by surprise and the feelings crept up on him. She is like no-one he has met before and he does really want to be with her. She makes him laugh and he totally understands her."
Will they get as far as a wedding?
"A wedding is most certainly on the cards and as Tracy is in charge of it all, I would imagine everything will be beautifully overstated in every way! She wants to show the world that they have made it. For Tracy it is all about people's perception of her and of them as a couple."

Viewers know that Rob murdered Tina McIntyre after he brutally attacked her following her fall from the balcony. In upcoming scenes, he will panic when the place he hid the weapon used to kill Tina is re-developed.
New on-set pictures show Rob desperately trying to cover his tracks by attempting to get past the security guard who doesn't believe his missing dog story.
However, after paying passing kids to cause a distraction, Rob digs up the weapon and hurries to the ship canal where he throws it and the shovel into the water.

Coronation Street will air these scenes in a few weeks' time.
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has said that his character Rob Donovan will be left panic stricken when his plan to frame Peter Barlow falls apart next week.
Viewers know that Rob murdered Tina McIntyre earlier in the year, but Peter (Chris Gascoyne) has been arrested for the crime and is currently awaiting his hearing.
Rob is initially relieved when he hears that Peter will be pleading guilty to murder, but after some wise words from both Ken and fellow prisoner Jim, Peter changes his mind.
Baylis said: "It's the worst thing he could possibly hear. He thought everything was going to plan but suddenly that turns full circle and all of the work he's done to get Peter sent down has been undone by Ken. Rob's going to have to start from scratch.
"Everything keeps changing and Rob's all over the place. He doesn't know where he stands or how to react. He's going round in a circle of mental hell."
Speaking about the repercussions for Peter's young son Simon, Baylis added: "He feels guilt yes, absolutely, but then he also uses Simon as a bit of a pawn in the game by coaxing him away to the zoo when he's meant to be visiting his dad.
"Simon's visit would have helped Peter stay strong and helped him to see he had something to fight for, but Rob was determined to take that away from him.
"He does obviously feel guilty and knows that the ramifications for Simon would be devastating, but then Rob also knows he can use Simon to his advantage at this moment in time. It's about Rob needing to stay a free man."

Coronation Street's Marc Baylis thinks his character Rob Donovan could kill again.
The 37-year-old hunk believes his nasty alter-ego is capable of becoming a serial killer after he murdered barmaid Tina McIntyre in cold blood in May after she threatened to expose his scams.
Speaking to Soaplife magazine, he said: "I'd like to think Tina was a one-off through desperate measures. But once you've done something like that, who knows if that switch can flick again? If Rob feels he has no way out, then who knows what he might do?"
Rob has kept his dirty secret underwraps since Tina's death and has let his brother-in-law Peter Barlow (played by Chris Gascoyne) take the blame after he was arrested following the revelation that he cheated on his pregnant wife Carla (Alison King) with the brunette beauty.
However, Peter's father Ken Barlow (Bill Roache) could be the next one to find himself in a grave as Rob starts to worry when he gets the recovering alcoholic a new lawyer and sets up a campaign to free his son.
Marc explained: "Ken intends to pull out all the stops to get Peter released. He's so adamant Peter is innocent, Rob really begins to think he might not get away with killing Tina.
"He starts playing games and puts obstacles in Ken's way. Rob says the new lawyer must be useless if he was free to take on Peter's case."

Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has said that Ken Barlow could be the downfall for his killer character Rob Donovan.
Viewers saw Rob kill Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) earlier this year, but he has allowed Peter (Chris Gascoyne) to take the rap for the crime.
However, Ken's return has threatened Rob's plan to frame Peter, as Ken believes that his son didn't murder Tina and encouraged him not to plead guilty at his hearing.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Baylis said: "In true soap style, there is a lot of stuff that happens in the week of Rob and Tracy's wedding.
"Ken's definitely suspicious of Rob, so there is much more material coming up between the two of them.
"Rob knows that if anyone is going to be his downfall, it is going to be Ken. But that makes him act even more suspiciously when he's around Ken."
Alison King, who plays Carla Barlow, also added that she thinks her character could forgive her brother when the truth eventually comes out.
She said: "It'll tear her apart because she loves him. But she also loves Peter, and won't want to see him put away for something he didn't do.
"She couldn't live with herself if she didn't do the right thing. I do think she will forgive Rob, though - he's her brother, and he did it for her."
Alison King...so what did rob exactly do for Carla?? Killed Tina or framed Peter?? I'd say neither-he did everything only for himself! Tina threatened to bring out all their dodgy dealings, that's the reason why she got killed. And Peter ended up in prison only because police started to suspect him. If Rob was a man and actually DID something FOR ANYONE, he would have gone to police straight away and confess. Latest when Carla was questioned. But no, he's a coward. I'm sorry but if my brother did that to me, I couldn't love him anymore. Simple as.
Alison King obviously does'nt understand the storyline she is involved in.
Coronation Street killer Rob Donovan will come face-to-face with the consequences of his ongoing deception as he is forced to comfort a devastated Simon Barlow.
Marc Baylis and Alex Bain, who play Rob and Simon, have been spotted filming the emotional scenes on location this week.
While exact storyline details won't be known until nearer the time, paparazzi photos show that Simon pays a visit to Tina McIntyre's grave in an upcoming episode.
Simon grew close to Tina in the months leading up to her murder, and it's clear that he still misses the Rovers Return's popular barmaid.
Rob tries to reassure Simon as he breaks down in tears at the cemetery, but the youngster's troubles are no doubt a terrible reminder of what he did to Tina - as well as the fact that Simon doesn't have his father Peter around to support him.

Simon is oblivious to Rob's guilt
Rob's current storyline has seen him desperately try to cover up the fact that he was responsible for Tina's tragic death. He has so far managed to escape detection by pinning the blame on Peter, who is awaiting trial for the crime.
The trial will take place in October - the same month that Rob is due to marry Peter's sister Tracy.
I wanted to hug Peter yesterday. I can't understand why Steve is so cold towards Peter?? I thought they were bessie mates??! I wouldn't turn my back on my friend if he/she was accused of a crime-I would stand by them. Peter may be a drunk and womanizer, but he's not a murderer, and Steve should know that!
That's what I don't like about Corrie-any time something bad happens, everyone is ganging up together against that one person, and then when the truth finally comes out, everyone is so apologetic! So annoying. Half of the characters have been in prison for something they haven't done, do they have a short memory or what??

Hopefully once Peter gets released, he'll realise he's living in a street full of idiots and leave. :)
Won't be long before he does :)
Coronation Street producer Stuart Blackburn has expressed his hopes that Rob Donovan and Peter Barlow won't be leaving Weatherfield for good.
Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, and Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter, are both due to bow out of the soap this year, although details of their exits are currently under wraps.
Speaking to Inside Soap, Blackburn said: "With both of them, I hope it is a case of 'Goodbye... but we will see you again soon!'
"It is incredibly hard to let either one go. You never want to lose anyone from Coronation Street with the surname Barlow, and Rob has just grown and grown as a character in the last year."
Blackburn also teased Tracy Barlow's reaction to discovering that Rob is Tina McIntyre's killer.
He said: "Tracy has recently come to recognise how others see her - as a slightly deluded monster! But she has changed, and she believes Rob has helped her to become a better person.
"For Tracy, this man's love matters more than anything else - so when his lies come spilling out, she will be absolutely heartbroken. But, don't forget that it is in Tracy's DNA to put herself first at all costs."
Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has told Digital Spy that he is "absolutely open" to returning to his role as Rob Donovan in the future.
The actor has now filmed his final scenes as the Weatherfield killer, who will bow out on screen at the end of an explosive October for Corrie.
Fans will be hoping that Rob gets his comeuppance after killing Tina McIntyre earlier in the year, but whatever happens, show boss Stuart Blackburn has already confirmed that he would like to reintroduce the character at a later date.
Speaking to Digital Spy at the Inside Soap Awards 2014 this week, Baylis commented: "I'm really proud that was released in the press before I'd even finished my last scenes. It's not very often that something like that is said before you've finished, so thank you to the bosses for saying that!
"I'm absolutely open to returning, because I love the job and I love the show. I'm very proud to be the person that was chosen to play Rob Donovan, and I do feel that there are other chapters and other stories that could be told with him.
"As to whether that happens or not, the future is a blank canvas for all of us and we'll take it as it comes, but in the meantime it's about focusing on the ending of this chapter and this storyline - and hopefully everyone will enjoy it."
Rob's dark storyline is expected to come to a head on October 31, but whether his crimes do catch up with him remains to be seen.

Rob and Carla
Baylis continued: "We finished filming my exit at 3am on Monday morning! In all honesty, it's a fantastic ending for this chapter of Rob. The writers have really pulled it out of the bag, especially for all of the audience who love Rob and Carla's relationship.
"There's a lot of material between Rob and Carla throughout October that will develop into something that I'm sure everyone will be really chuffed with. There's a lot more unravelling of their past, bringing that into the present day and verging on the future as well.
"There is a situation that tests Rob and Carla's relationship more than anything else ever, so there's some great material for people to look forward to."

October will also see Rob prepare to marry Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) as their wedding day arrives, but whether the ceremony actually goes ahead is another closely-guarded Corrie secret.
Baylis added: "The whole month of October is a huge, huge time for the show. We had an incredible location for the wedding. I think a couple of photos have come out which reveal bits, but you haven't seen anything from the interior. There's some lovely stuff coming up at the wedding, but I can't give any of it away!"

Rob Donovan finally confess to killing Tina McIntyre next week when his sister Carla Barlow catches him out.
As Tracy Barlow excitedly prepares for her wedding and enjoys her hen party, Rob (Marc Baylis) spends his stag night with Carla (Alison King) where she quizzes him about the events surrounding Tina's murder.
After hearing Rob's version of events from the night Tina was attacked, Carla catches him out when she speaks to Tracy and realises that their stories don't match.
Returning home, Carla tells Rob she now has the proof that Peter didn't kill Tina, leaving him horrified.
Rob's problems escalate when Carla reveals to Rob that she knows he is lying, explaining that she believes he is covering up for the real murderer - Tracy.
As Carla becomes intent on calling the police, Rob stops her and explains that Tracy was actually driving a van load of stolen gear when Tina was murdered and they lied to the police knowing they'd both be sent down if they were caught.
Rob tells Carla how much he loves Tracy, but when Carla points out that Tracy's false alibi means he is also without an alibi, Rob loses his temper and storms out.
Carla is taken aback by his outburst and becomes more suspicious than ever, despite Rob claiming later that it was simply down to wedding nerves.
Unconvinced, Carla points out how Rob seemed to know from the off that Tracy was innocent and asks him if he killed Tina.
Although Rob tries to deny it, Carla continues to push him and finally confesses that he did murder her.
It's crunch time for Coronation Street's Rob Donovan next week as his killer secret is finally rumbled by his sister Carla - but will she hand him into the police before he gets a chance to exchange his wedding vows with Tracy?
It's after Carla turns detective that she starts to question Rob's whereabouts on the night of Tina's murder, and soon enough, her brother cracks under the pressure. But as he confesses on the night before his wedding, is his future of bliss with Tracy in jeopardy?
Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, spills the beans on what's coming up for the doomed groom…
Does Rob believe that he's gotten away with murder?
"More or less, yeah. After the recent trial, the guilt has started to build up in Rob again after having been in denial for so long. Despite this, he's still pretty sure he's got away with it, especially after all of the evidence that has gone against Peter's favour!"
So how does Carla start to get suspicious of Rob?
"Because Rob's sister is very intelligent! It was when he was trying to desperately get out of court that he started to show some slightly erratic behaviour."
Why does Rob finally crack and tell her everything?
"He's just been lying to everyone for such a long time, and it's just his guilt finally becoming too much to bear. And it's his sister – they've been through so much together that he doesn't have to say anything. He's backed into a corner and can't lie to her any longer, and she just knows everything. Any other resident on the street probably wouldn't be able to see he's guilty, but for Carla, it becomes crystal clear to her."

After his confession, does he believe that she'll keep her mouth shut and honour their family loyalty?
"He does, absolutely. That's at the heart of all the material, and the dramatic side of it all – to convince her that keeping quiet's the right thing to do. He's brainwashed himself during this whole thing, and is now trying to brainwash her too.
"The whole concept behind their relationship is the family loyalty. There's a lot to do with family values and morals. Obviously they're both as strong as each other, so it really puts them at loggerheads. He's being really selfish throughout this, and it puts her in a horrible situation. But what will she do?"
So tell us about Rob and Tracy's wedding. How can you describe it?
"The wedding's very romantic, and picturesque. It's their dream."
He must be the most stressed groom on the planet though…
"He sure is – and it being a soap, of course the wedding doesn't go to plan."
What was filming the wedding like?
"It took a while! Our director Kay Patrick filmed this block and she was immense because she did the hen do, the stag and the wedding - all in six weeks. It can be a hard slog filming something like a wedding, especially if you're a guest with not a lot to do. But for us, being at the heart of it, the time flew!"

Has it become harder to play Rob emotionally as the story has developed?
"It has. What's been the hardest is being able to maintain that level of emotion for long periods of time. I've never had to work so hard in my life. It's been a massive challenge but has been made easier by the material that I've had. There was a risk of burning out from this storyline though!"
With you departing the Street, it's obvious Rob and Tracy are not going to have a happy ending. Had Rob not killed Tina, do you think it would've been possible that they would have lived happy ever after?
"Yeah, I do. Before they got together, it felt a bit like we didn't quite know what to do with Rob, but as soon as he was put with Tracy, you saw them become this dastardly duo. It just worked!
"It's been the real deal for them both, real true love. Kate [Ford, aka Tracy] and I have had an absolute blast playing each other's partners."
What will you miss most about Kate?
"Her being convinced that she's unwell every day [laughs]. You never know what ailment she'll come up with next. I'll miss those and nursing her back to health!"
Alison King (Carla) must be bereft at losing both you, and Chris Gascoyne (Peter)…
"It is a tough one for her! She'll be fine obviously, as she's a tough cookie, but it's a weird change. In real life, we do feel like brother and sister. I do feel very protective of her."

What was filming your final scenes like?
"Bizarre! They weren't easy, because we were on location, and the elements were against us and we lost power in our generators and things like that. It was just a bit of a slog.
"I had a nice send-off though. Everyone's clubbed together to get me a lighting rig."
Would you like to star in US shows?
"Sure. I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead actually - that's an awesome show. But I'm happy to go where the wind blows. There's great stuff being made in the country. If something good like that came along, it would be a dream!"
i will miss rob will we see scenes of him and jim in jail
I doubt it. I don't even think we will see the court case. Rob has gone. I do not know how they will bring him back if Peter was going to sent down for 15 years.
Coronation Street star Marc Baylis has praised his exit from the soap, saying he is glad his character Rob Donovan went out with a bang.
Rob was finally arrested for Tina McIntyre's murder during last night's episode (November 5) after months of trying to shift the blame.
In a dramatic twist, it was his jilted fiancée Tracy (Kate Ford) who was responsible for his arrest.
As Rob waited for Tracy, believing they were going on the run together, she betrayed him by reporting him to the police.
Speaking in a video on Coronation Street's official website, Baylis said: "I have had an absolute blast. It's been an awesome time and I am going to miss everyone a lot.
"It's a very dramatic ending. It is nice to be going out with a bang."

Baylis also said that he believes viewers have empathised with Rob despite his murder of Tina earlier this year.
He added: "The response to Tina's exit was actually a lot more positive than I thought it would be. I thought I was going to be getting abuse left, right and centre. Weirdly, it took Rob into the audience's hearts in a way.
"They empathised with him because it wasn't a planned thing. It was an event that was quick and could happen. It's been a good challenge."

It wouldn't surprise me at all. He's bound to be sentenced to more than the 15 years Peter got, so the writers will have to be very inventive to plausibly get him back for more than a couple of episodes.
Maybe he will come back as a long lost twin they did'nt know about

If we dont see any of the trial or any prison
scenes-it may be to leave it open for
some appeal against procedures/evidence
etc to be successful. As was the case when
Tracey was released- after appeal.Tho
some of trial was shown -I think.
Not showing it makes it easier to re-write

In the meantime Rob will be serving his
sentence.
Not very moral , believable or just perhaps

Watch out Weatherfield - Coronation Street killer Rob Donovan will be returning to our screens later this year.
Marc Baylis has agreed to reprise his role as Rob for an exciting storyline, which will see the villain calling the shots from his prison cell.
After spending a year behind bars for the murder of Tina McIntyre, Rob will decide to start shaking up life on the Street once again by sending out visiting orders for a number of the residents.
Exactly what Rob has up his sleeve remains to be seen, but show bosses are teasing that he could hold the key to a huge Connor family secret that he may be able to use to his advantage.
Speaking of his shock Coronation Street comeback, Baylis commented: "I can't wait to play Rob again and see what he has up his sleeve. One thing is certain - prison won't stop Rob from affecting lives on the street."
Rob's reappearance will come just as his ex-partner Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) is trying to move on from their turbulent relationship.
Tracy has recently grown close to her ex-husband Robert Preston once again, but which of the two Robs really holds the key to her heart?
The big new storyline will also play out after viewers have been introduced to a new branch of the Connor family, led by former X Factor winner Shayne Ward as Michelle's distant cousin Aidan.
Baylis was last seen on Coronation Street in November last year, but show bosses had always made it clear that he could return further on down the line.

Perdita is correct. Steve grassed him up so any chance he had of being moved to an open prison was removed at that point also.
No doubt we are only getting these prison scenes because the producer regrets Rob being written into a corner. It just wouldn't have been feasible to get him out like they did Tracy Barlow. To leave at least a little room for manoeuvre, they shouldn't have had the lead pipe twist so that Rob could have had a manslaughter charge.
I do like Rob and I hope it is confined to his sending out visiting orders, not some convoluted thing where Carla suddenly ends up in prison for the fire so that he can be involved in more scenes. That would at least distinguish it from Jim's storyline a little.

Thanks, I didn't realise that there are separate prisons for men and women. Not that Coronation Street would necessarily let that stop them either.

Starting to wonder that myself. He does remind me of Rob a little. I seem to remember reading that a family secret that would come out upon Rob's return would lead to Carla's departure (for Alison King's break.)

Coronation Street is preparing to welcome back Rob Donovan very soon, but it's definitely not good news for the Connor family.
Producer Stuart Blackburn spoke about Donovan's return in an interview with The Sun's TV Soap magazine, hinting that his reappearance will signal a "disaster" for those in his sights.
Marc Baylis returns to filming at Coronation Street: "Great first day back"
"It's a relatively short-term [return]," Blackburn said, "but you'd be amazed what a bored guy on the inside – who wants money and vengeance – can do when he puts his mind to it.
"He's had a lot of time to think things through while he's been in prison, and Carla and Tracy remain in his sights. After all, these are the two women that got him sent down."
He added: "Rob has lost a lot of his humanity and he's got nothing left to lose. He becomes a puppet master and that's going to be a disaster for the Connor family."
It was announced back in August that Marc Baylis would return to our screens as the killer later this year.

Coronation Street may well be set to bring back killer Rob Donovan in a shock twist – as actor Marc Baylis has been spotted arriving at ITV’s studios with a packed bag. Could Tracy Barlow be in for the shock of her life as her imprisoned ex ends up on the loose again?
Fans will recall that shady Rob pushed Tina McIntyre from a balcony during a row and then later finished her off with a metal bar. He was later arrested for the crime after his wedding day to Tracy fell apart.
More recently, Rob re-appeared in prison scenes that saw him blackmail Johnny Connor over the secret that he is Carla’s dad while also trying to woo Tracy back into his life.
Of course, Marc arriving at the studio is no proof that Rob is set for another dramatic comeback – he could be there for another project or even for a visit – although many fans are certainly hoping that he might be back to menace Weatherfield once more.
Show boss Kate Oates has previously brought back Peter Barlow, Adam Barlow, Daniel Osbourne (played by a new actor), Rosie Webster, Toyah Battersby and Brian Packham. Fans will have to stay tuned to see if villain Rob is on her list.
There are limited scenarios which could see Rob back given that he is incarcerated for years and, as ever, Corrie aren’t commenting on storyline rumours or speculation.
Maybe as with our Tracy he gets out on a technicality .... although Tracy keeps insisting she was found innocent rather than telling the truth
Actress Kate Ford has been spotted filming screens with her on-screen ex Rob Donovan, played by Marc Baylis.
He left the soap in 2016 after murdering Tina McIntyre, played by Michelle Keegan.
But the villain is soon to return to the soap after being spotted at the ITV studios in Manchester.
And it looks like he will be landing Tracy in a lot of trouble.
Police officers have been seen filming scenes with the pair, and Tracy's daughter Amy.
It seems that Rob has decided to track Tracy down and finally get his revenge.
Tracy called the police on her boyfriend when she discovered he had killed Tina.
Rob was sentenced to 25 years in prison but it looks like he has escaped.
Will he try to harm the mother and daughter?
Tracy has been seen being arrested by the police, so it is possible she has tried to harbour him.
The Corrie favourite may be trying to ease her guilty conscience by protecting him.
Let's hope she doesn't regret helping him out, as he seemed pretty keen to get even back in his scenes last year.

Coronation Street: Amy in danger!
Will she manage to escape the clutches of murderer Rob Donovan?
The mystery surrounding cobbles killer Rob Donovan's shock return to Weatherfield deepens, with new pictures suggesting that young Amy Barlow will be forced to run for her life!
As reported previously in Inside Soap, Rob will make a stunning comeback to the Street and hook up again with his ex-fiancée, Tracy. Stars Marc Baylis and Kate Ford have already filmed some dramatic scenes on location, where their characters were spotted sharing a snog before being set upon by armed cops.
"Coronation Street bosses are keeping tight-lipped on why exactly Rob has made a return," confirms our Weatherfield insider. "But those who end up coming into contact with him will find themselves in an extremely perilous situation. It's really explosive stuff!"
While Tracy is nowhere to be seen in these sneaky snaps, Amy's dramatic showdown with Rob will involve her fleeing his car and making a run for it. Will she get away, or is there more terror to come?

"Awesome. It's always great to come back and have a little play, and I do love playing Rob. When I got the call from Corrie's producer Kate Oates, we had a nice discussion about what was next for the character.
"That, for me, is important. I don't want to be going round in circles with Rob. I always want him to be on the front foot and that's exactly what this storyline is."
How did Rob escape from prison?
"It's not that Rob has hired a pneumatic drill, gone through the prison walls and sprinted for his life. It wasn't planned. An incident occurred which involved the police. There was a crash and he seized the opportunity."
As he's been out for a while, could Rob be a suspect in the Ken case?
"Absolutely!"
When you returned to the set, Corrie tried to hide you from paparazzi behind an umbrella!
"We just didn't want people to know too much about the story. It's a shame those pics were taken, because we wanted Rob's return to be a surprise. I feel it's cheated the audience of that moment."
Were you surprised to get the call to come back?
"To be honest, because of the relationship I've had with the show going on for five years now, I do know that anything is possible in Soapland and that's one of the things I love about this job. The possibilities are endless as far as I'm concerned, with Rob's future. So I'd be foolish if I didn't keep an eye on the show to see what's happening. I'm a massive fan."
How long are you back for?
"I'm not back permanently. What will develop from this is that Rob is a very different person to the last time. A lot has occurred over the last 18 months.
"Back then, he was very angry and bitter about the two women that he loved most in his life – one being the sibling, one being the love of his life – being responsible for him being sentenced to prison. The anger that was underneath him revealing that Johnny was Carla's dad is a very different Rob to what we see now.
"The storyline will develop about what exactly has been happening, but he's a very different man. There are similarities to the time when him and Carla were getting closer and when him and Tracy first got together. There's a bit more tenderness and a lot more unearthed about his and Tracy's relationship."
How easy has it been to step back into Rob's shoes?
"Although I've kept up with the show, I don't know where Rob's at, so it was really interesting for me to pick up the first few scripts and we also had chats before about the storyline. But until you see the words printed on the page, you don't know where that person's at.
"I've never found a problem with picking up the character again, but the pressure is whether I can make it real. The first scene you walk in and feel the pressure again. There's a bit of trepidation, but within two seconds you're straight back into it and it's like you've never left."
From the paparazzi pictures we've seen, we know that Rob, Tracy and Amy all end up going on the run soon. What can you tell us about those scenes?
"All I can say about that is that they are some of the favourite scenes that I've ever filmed on Corrie. In fact, through all of this storyline, there is some beautiful material that I really hope gives that other side to this whole set-up. Because it's not the easiest of scenarios they're in, and what we're trying to do is tell the love story.
"It is doomed, so it's a horrible scenario. If you're in love as passionately as they are with each other and it is genuine, the fact you know it can't go anywhere makes it kind of redundant in a way. But the feelings don't stop just because it's redundant, so that's the struggle we've enjoyed playing."
Does Rob have a plan now?
"It's a do-or-die situation that he's in, so it's very much off-the-cuff and minute-to-minute. There's a pace we're trying to tell the story at and a sense of urgency there. Rob is changing his mind all the time as to the right angle and what's the right thing to do. That, for me, is the question Rob always asks himself: what is the right thing to do?
"As we know, a lot of the time he makes the wrong decision! But that gives me something great to be able to play with Kate Ford [who plays Tracy]. We're playing two tainted characters and that gives us a lot of material to work with. There' s a bit of comedy that Rob and Tracy have in there as well."
You say it's do or die, so could this be the last stint for you?
"Who knows?"
What have you been up to since leaving Corrie?
"I've just finished co-producing a feature film, Arcadia, with a director friend of mine. That's a project that's taken up the last two and a half years. I was in it as well. I learnt masses and it's probably the biggest learning curve I've ever had, especially branching into new territory.
"We started developing it as I was playing out the tail end of the Tina story. To be there from concept right through to editing, you can't help but learn a lot. We've finally finished that and it's out now. Another film, called Redcon-1, is out later this year. So it's been nice to try different stuff."
If it was possible for Rob to come back permanently, would you?
"Absolutely. If that's something that would ever be on the table, then obviously I'd handle that conversation as with every other conversation I've had. I love playing the character, I love the show and if the producers and writers feel I have something I can offer to tell good stories on this show, I'm 100 percent behind that."
Do you think Rob still wants a happy-ever-after?
"Absolutely. With Rob and Carla's upbringing, there's never really been any form of stability there or a family unit. So both characters had so much turmoil, they only know what they know which shaped their adulthood. They do desperately want a happy, peaceful life, but because of their baggage, it will never happen."
Has it been bittersweet to come back and not have Alison King (Carla) on set?
"Absolutely. It reminded me of when I first started and I didn't know that she was going on leave. So I had to establish Rob without his closest link there.
"But for me the character didn't really take off until Ali was there, because we could play all the sibling stuff. But I would hope that we can do that at some point again in the future."
Is there anyone else other than Tracy who Rob comes into contact with?
"Well you've seen the pictures with Amy, so there's her. But all of this storyline is not really like being on Corrie, where you can just be around the street and bump into the other characters.
"All of this has been shot on location, bar about four scenes on the street, and we've shot it like a feature film. So far it's been so contained and their love story is the main focus. There's a few other characters in there, though..."

they write so much now. its hard to keep up and read it all
So instead of an annual prison storyline, we now have the annual appearances of Rob Donovan. Surprised Tracy has gone running after the last time. Happy to see him though, I wish they'd never made him the killer.
Hope there'll be a surprise return for Carla as I heard Kate Oates was trying to get her back.
I think tracy has nine lives when it comes to criminal justice. So how are they going to explain her not going down this time?
Coronation Street spoilers: Murder ending in store for Rob Donovan as he is targeted by a gang?
Coronation Street look like they could be preparing fans for a very final ending to runaway Rob Donovan’s story – as it has emerged that it isn’t just the police after him but a murderous gang too! After he blew the whistle about criminal goings on with the gang members in prison, he ended up as a target – and it sounds like this group are capable of murder.
After they launched a ferocious beating on Rob’s cellmate that drove him to contemplate suicide, Rob was transferred out of the prison for his own safety but he now believes that the crash he was involved in was the work of the gang putting a hit out on him.
For now, he is hoping that the police and the gang think that he drowned when the van went into the river but Tracy Barlow was quick to make it clear that she was less than happy with the ‘cast of the Sopranos’ potentially out to get them.
A gang never forgets and if it were to emerge that Rob survived the crash, their hunt for him would likely resume, if it had even stopped in the first place. And, with nowhere left to run, this could lead to Rob meeting a sticky end.
Speaking to us recently, actor Marc Baylis told us that he was sworn to secrecy over whether Rob lives or dies but hinted that his situation is ‘do or die’.
Could a bloody end for Rob be Corrie’s way of punishing him once and for all for what he did to Tina McIntyre? Or will Rob Donovan live to return another day?
I think Corroe regret making him a murderer
keep him alive, does carla and michelle know he has escaped?
keep him alive, does carla and michelle know he has escaped?
We won't know if Carla does unless it gets mentioned ... so far I don´t think they do although it is strange the police talked to Tracy about his escape but not to Michelle and the other Connors
Coronation Street spoilers: Rob Donovan shot as his and Tracy’s escape ends in chaos?
Tracy Barlow and Rob Donovan’s bid to escape Coronation Street and the police – who are tailing them both due to Rob’s escape from prison and over suspicions that Tracy and Amy are hiding secrets about Ken’s attack – is about to end in chaos. Well, you didn’t expect anything else, did you?
With Tracy having whisked Amy away, the youngster is less than impressed to be spending her ‘holiday’ in a cottage in the Peak District, unaware that Rob is hiding out in the same cottage as them. Sending Amy out for some fresh air, Tracy assures Rob that she will explain everything to her soon. But before long, everything is thrown into disarray when a neighbour spots Rob and he is left feeling anxious.
Tracy assures Rob of her love for him and promises not to let him down while back on the Street, Ken is concerned by news that Tracy is in the frame for his attack as he and Steve McDonald mull over her actions and fear that she has gone on the run from police.
When they learn that Amy hasn’t been to school, Ken and Steve are left deeply worried, particularly when Tracy and Amy’s phones are found and Steve realises Amy’s passport is gone. As they report them missing to the police, Rob is planning his next move and meets up with a mate who urges him to ditch Tracy and Amy for a better chance of fleeing the country.
Rob then sees a missing persons appeal for Tracy and Amy on the TV and frantically tells Tracy she is all over the media and urges her to take Amy home and just leave him to run away alone.
Meanwhile, fed up of being cooped up, Amy has made a phone call to Steve – but how much detail has she given him? As she returns to the cottage, she can’t believe it when she sees Rob and Tracy has some explaining to do.
But with the police now closing in, Rob and Tracy have bigger worries as they realise Amy has told Steve where they are. As Rob freaks out, can they make their escape as the police arrive?
Recently released pictures showed armed police descending on the cottage and surrounding it – but there could well be some massive twists ahead before this particular story draws to a close…
Speaking to Metro.co.uk recently, Marc Baylis refused to give away whether this would be Rob’s last stint but teased that the situation is very much do or die for Rob. With nowhere else to turn, might he take rash action and end up on the wrong side of armed officers?
And what stance will Tracy take – will she try and flee too or is she bang to rights?

Coronation Street producer reveals Rob Donovan return plans
The villain is about to cause "a lot of trouble for Carla and Lisa".
Coronation Street's new producer Kate Brooks has shared details of a dramatic return storyline for Rob Donovan.
Marc Baylis has reprised his role as Carla Connor's villainous brother, who returns to our screens in early January.
It was recently revealed that Carla will be rushed to hospital in the New Year. The factory boss is diagnosed with sepsis and doctors warn that the life-threatening condition has damaged her kidney.
In the aftermath, Carla is told that the situation is serious and she'll need another transplant.
lAs Carla's family rally round, her nephew Bobby Crawford takes decisive action by visiting his father Rob in prison. Wasting no time, Bobby asks Rob if he'll consider donating a kidney to Carla.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other press about challenges ahead for Carla's relationship with Lisa Swain, Brooks replied: "There is a big one? a big Rob Donovan return! There are other familiar faces coming back in 2025 which I will not disclose, but a few people will be returning to the Street to cause their own forms of chaos.
"First up is Rob. We last left Rob languishing in prison. He made mistakes. He comes back to the show and we think he might be a reformed character who has seen the error of his ways, but whether that's the case or not, I don't know!
"That causes a lot of trouble for Carla and Lisa. Just when Carla and Lisa think it's safe to sit down and watch Netflix, Rob Donovan comes along and scuppers all of that.
"So it's a big story for them and a big story for Rob. There are lots of twists and turns. It's a big story for Betsy as well, who is fabulous and will be right at the centre of that.
"I love Rob and Carla. I love tapping into their history together, and we really explore that through this story. It's going to be eventful for Carla and Lisa."
Rob is best remembered for the dark storyline in 2014 when he killed much-loved Rovers barmaid Tina McIntyre, who was played by Michelle Keegan.
Asked whether Rob is back on a permanent basis, Brooks laughed: "It's not just a couple of episodes ? it's a good chunk. He killed Tina, but we can get over that. Michelle's fine on Netflix!
"It's really exciting, and what I like about this story in particular is that Carla and Lisa are finally together and united. Everyone knows about them and they're moving on with their lives, and then this drops on them.
"They're like: 'How did that happen? Are we not meant to be relaxing and enjoying being with each other?' So it's a real test for their relationship in the early stages, but a good test."
Rob was last seen on the show in 2017.

Coronation Street is lining up a prison fling for Rob Donovan.
Rob is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of Michelle Keegan?s character Tina McIntyre in 2014, with the villain recently returning to our screens as part of his sister Carla Connor's transplant storyline.
Rob has offered Carla a kidney after his son Bobby visited him in prison and asked him to help, though it's clear he has an ulterior motive up his sleeve.
According to The Sun, upcoming scenes will see Rob strike up an intimate relationship with prison guard Mandy (played by Shameless actor Rebecca Atkinson), who made her first appearance on the ITV soap this week as Matty threatened her with a knife.
Recently discussing how his character has changed since his last stint on the show, Rob actor Marc Baylis said that whilst he is a very different perosn after spending seven years in prison, "whether his core nature has changed or not, whether he's made changes for the greater good, is yet to be seen".
He continued: "But he's not had the easiest of times in prison, as I don't think anyone would do for that amount of time, particularly someone who did what he did to a young woman.
"It's not something that he's had an easy journey with, and it's something that he has huge regrets over with the way that everything played out. We do get to see some of that on screen, as well as Rob's genuine feelings.:
His final statement may well just hint at the reported racy scenes to come as he notes: "With Rob, there are always motives to make his life better than what it is, and that may well get him into trouble yet again."

Another typical day in the life of ordinary Northern folk.
Rob, played by Marc Baylis, will take hostage his sister Carla Connor, played by Alison King.
It leads to the shooting and death.
A TV insider said: ?Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as the gripping hostage ordeal followed by a cold-blooded murder unfolds.
"No one is safe from the peril and havoc Rob is set to unleash.?
Trust me, I will not be on the edge of my seat....
swain kills rob?
You mean she is actually working as a cop for a change? Is she licensed to carry a firearm?
