EastEnders, Anthony Moon will soon be forced to turn his back on Walford after losing everything.

Things finally seem to be looking up for Anthony (Matt Lapinskas) over the next few days as his relationship with Alice Branning intensifies.

When the pair arrange a date and finally get some alone time together, they share a kiss and both enjoy it. Alice (Jasmyn Banks) seems to be far more confident than Anthony expected, but he is still worrying about the disapproval of her overprotective father and brother.

The next day, Joey steps up his scheming by telling Anthony that the only way to win over Derek (Jamie Foreman) is with a poker game.

At first, Derek isn't interested in playing against Anthony, but he changes his mind when Joey lies that the antiques dealer was bragging about how easy it would be to beat him.

As the game gets under way between the three men, Joey is the first to fold - leaving Anthony out of his depth with Derek. Anthony's cash soon runs out, but Derek tempts him to up the stakes by throwing in the keys to the antiques emporium.

With his gambling demons rearing their ugly head, Anthony agrees to the bet - but he's soon left horrified when Derek wins the game.

A desperate Anthony begs for mercy, but instead Derek hands him some cash for a one-way ticket away from Walford. Having gambled his life away, Anthony is then left with no choice but to leave the Square…

With the squad gathered together for post-match drinks, Alfie announces that they've been kicked out of the league due to Ray playing for two different teams!

All hell breaks loose as Derek immediately accuses Ray of playing badly on purpose. When Jack gets involved, it's not long before furniture is being thrown, glasses are being smashed and the pub is left in total disarray.

As shown in our previously-unseen picture below, even Syed Masood (Marc Elliott) gets involved in the scuffles - pouring ice down Derek's back when the bad boy attacks Masood!

Monday

Patrick is still worried about Jay's wellbeing and encourages the teenager to start leaving the house again. Jay is scared of facing the angry Albert Square residents, but changes his mind and heads outside when he hears that volatile Andrew has now left Walford. At the same time, Abi arrives back on the Square and realises something is wrong when she discovers that Ben's phone is dead and Jay is no longer living with Phil. However, with Max and Tanya not around, nobody will tell her what's going on until she speaks to her parents.

Later, Jay is delighted when Lola informs him that Abi is back. Jay soon spots Abi on the Square, but just as he is about to run over, he sees Max's car pull up and knows that the Brannings will tell her the truth about Heather's death before he gets a chance to. Watching from afar, Jay spots Abi's face turn to horror as Max and Tanya tell her what really happened to Heather. As the day continues, Jay turns up at the Brannings' to explain himself. However, a sickened Abi doesn't want to see him - slamming the door in his face…

Meanwhile, Kat sees that Shirley is in a state after drowning her sorrows, so she decides to take her back to The Vic. Alfie suggests that Shirley could start working at the pub to take her mind off things, but Kat doesn't like this idea. Instead, Kat claims that Shirley shouldn't have to work and should demand money from Phil. Taking this on board, Shirley heads over to the Mitchell house, where Phil is with Sharon. Phil immediately tells Sharon to leave. As Shirley demands money from Phil, he turns the conversation to the fact that Ben is pleading guilty - before adding that he desperately wants her back. Not wanting to be tempted by Phil's words, Shirley walks out - leaving him distraught.

Elsewhere, with his late father's birthday drawing near, Dennis has been talking to Ian about how his dad died in a helicopter crash. Realising that the lies she has told to protect Dennis from the truth are about to be exposed, Sharon is adamant that it's time to leave Walford.

Also today, AJ returns to Albert Square with the news that he's getting a divorce and wants to stay with the Masoods for a while, while Syed has shut down his stall and launched a new business selling cleaning products.

Tuesday

It's Dennis Senior's birthday, so Sharon marks the occasion by making sure that her son knows what a good man he was. Still intent on leaving Walford, Sharon shares her plans with Jack, who makes it clear that he's disappointed over her decision. Ian is also upset over the news and accuses Sharon of running away, telling her that he knows she has been lying to Dennis about what really happened to his dad. Unhappy that Ian seems to be branding her a coward, Sharon walks out in a bad mood.

Later at the bus station, Dennis tells Sharon that he wants to stay in Walford, pointing out to his mum that she's never happy because they are always leaving somewhere. Realising that Dennis is right, Sharon heads back to the Square with the intention of sticking around - to the delight of Ian and Jack. When Jack tries to claim his prize following their recent bet, Sharon eventually gives him a small kiss. Jack is smitten.

Meanwhile, Janine is still not coping with the pressures of motherhood. Later, Tanya tries to assure Janine that things will get better, but she ultimately makes things worse by inadvertently putting the thought into Janine's mind that Michael could be having an affair. When Janine finds a necklace while rummaging through Michael's belongings, her worst fears appear to have been confirmed. However, when she confronts a shocked Michael, Janine hears that the necklace is a present for Scarlett.

Elsewhere, Anthony asks Alice out on a proper date, despite Joey trying to warn him off. As the pair finally get some alone time together, they share a kiss and both enjoy it. Alice seems to be far more confident than Anthony expected when she tries to drag him into one of the sheds at the allotments. However, things can't go further as a drunken Shirley arrives and orders them out.

Also today, Abi seeks answers from Jay but they're interrupted when Tanya drags her daughter away, while Kat cancels a meeting with her mystery lover in favour of a night out with Alfie - but work soon gets in the way of quality time for the Moons.

Thursday

A seductive Alice makes it clear to Anthony that she's ready to take their relationship to the next level, encouraging him to meet her later. However, Joey is furious when Lucy informs him that Alice is planning on losing her virginity tonight. Fearing that Anthony is pressurising Alice into having sex, Joey resolves to put a stop to it and hatches a plan. Soon afterwards, Joey convinces Anthony that the only way to win over Derek is with a poker game. At first, Derek isn't prepared to play against Anthony, but he changes his mind when scheming Joey lies that the antiques dealer was bragging about how easy it would be to beat Derek.

As the game gets under way, Joey is the first to fold, leaving Anthony out of his depth with Derek. Anthony's cash soon runs out, but Derek tempts him to up the stakes by throwing in the keys to the antiques emporium. With his gambling demons rearing their ugly head, Anthony agrees to the bet - but he's soon left horrified when Derek wins the game. Anthony begs for mercy, but instead Derek hands him some cash for a one-way ticket away from Walford. Joey adds to Anthony's misery by advising him not to see Alice before he goes, claiming that she will be furious with him for gambling his life away. Feeling he has no other option, Anthony packs his bags and leaves Walford…

Meanwhile, the market stall is causing problems for the Beales, and Lucy is given food for thought when Joey tells her that she works too hard. Lucy decides to solve this problem by letting out the stall, which leaves Ian devastated. Sharon tries to make Lucy see how much the stall means to Ian, but it's not until Lucy sees how hard Ian is working that she changes her mind.

Elsewhere, Zainab decides that it's time to take matters into her own hands when it comes to AJ's marriage split. She phones Aliyah and urges her to come and make things up with AJ. However, AJ is furious over her interference - revealing that Aliyah has been having an affair.

Also today, when Kat suggests that Shirley should move in with Fatboy, Alfie saves him by declaring that Roxy is his new housemate.

Friday

Kat isn't best pleased when Alfie tells her that she can't come to the football team's latest game today, as she needs to keep an eye on Shirley at The Vic. The players all blow kisses to Kat as they leave the pub. Later, Shirley tells Kat that Alfie has phoned about a fight breaking out on the pitch. Kat immediately fears that her affair secret could have been revealed, but when the men return, it turns out that Derek started an argument with the opposing team at the match. The atmosphere is tense between the squad at the pub, especially when Alfie announces that they've been kicked out of the league due to Ray playing for two different teams!

When Derek accuses Ray of playing badly on purpose and Jack gets involved, an enormous brawl breaks out at The Vic - with furniture thrown, glasses smashed and the pub left in disarray. Afterwards, Kat cleans her lover's hand upstairs as he has been hurt in the fight. Considering the man in question to be one of his friends, Alfie thinks nothing of it. Later, Kat returns to the kitchen and finds a bandage on the table with the words "I love you" written in lipstick. Is Kat's affair becoming more than just a fling?

Meanwhile, Sharon and Tanya have decided to let their sons spend some time together, in the hope they will become friends. As Dennis and Oscar play on the games console, Sharon and Tanya go all-out to make sure that their child will win. However, in the end, the youngsters end up playing in the other room - as their mothers have completely taken over the console in a desperate desire to beat the other on the boxing game. Soon afterwards, the tension between the two women reaches boiling point as they furiously exchange insults. Both vow that they don't want their families to have anything more to do with each other!

Elsewhere, Aliyah turns up at the Masood house and thanks Zainab for telling her where AJ was, before dumping bin bags of his clothes. Zainab accuses Aliyah of being cold-hearted considering that she was the one who had an affair. However, Alijah reveals that AJ is lying and this isn't the reason for the divorce. Will Zainab get the truth from AJ?

Also today, Alfie fires Shirley from The Vic under strict instruction from Phil, while Ian tries to rebuild his relationship with Bobby - but Lucy fears that the youngster is being set up for a fall.

Kat's lover is injured in the fracas, so she later takes him upstairs to tend to a cut on his hand.

The pair share a tender moment as they're all alone, and when Alfie later spots them together, he thinks nothing of it as he considers himself to be on good terms with the man in question.

Later, once her boyfriend has gone, Kat (Jessie Wallace) is startled when she spots that he has left a bandage on the kitchen table with the words "I love you" written in lipstick.

Kat's affair has always seemed to be just about sex up until now - but is that set to change? Does Kat feel as strongly for her mystery guy as he does for her? And what does this mean for her future with Alfie?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Friday, August 31 at 8pm on BBC One. Kat's affair storyline will run until the autumn. :(

Jay Mitchell's turmoil continues on EastEnders next week as his on-off girlfriend Abi Branning returns to Albert Square.

Last night (August 20), viewers saw everyone turn against Jay (Jamie Borthwick) in the aftermath of Ben Mitchell finally being exposed as Heather Trott's killer.

When Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) arrives back from Costa Rica next Monday (August 27), she has no idea that Ben has confessed to murder and that Jay is facing a charge for perverting the course of justice.

Lola (Danielle Harold) stays discreet about the goings-on when she comes face-to-face with the Brannings' youngest daughter, but quickly warns Jay that Abi is back and likely to find out the truth soon.

Jay holds out hope that he can give his side of the story to Abi before anyone else speaks to her, but he is dismayed when Max and Tanya get in there first - explaining how he covered for Ben from the start.

Although Jay later pays a visit to Abi to explain himself, she is sickened by his behaviour and immediately slams the door in his face.

The next day, Abi actively seeks out Jay following some reflection, as she wants an explanation for his actions.

Before Jay can fully explain himself, however, a concerned Tanya (Jo Joyner) drags Abi away and makes it clear that she doesn't want the pair to see each other. Will Jay ever be able to secure the forgiveness of the local residents?

Ofcom is to investigate a recent EastEnders scene on the grounds that it may have been "too violent".

The scene, which took place in an August 31 edition of the soap, saw a fight erupt amongst the Queen Vic football team after they were told they had been kicked out of the local pub league.

The scene lasted for nearly two minutes and featured furniture being thrown, glasses being smashed and the pub being left in total disarray.

Broadcast reports that Ofcom received a single complaint about the episode, with a viewer saying it was too violent for the timeslot.

The media regulator will now assess whether the level of violence was appropriate for the 8pm broadcast time.

The single complaint is in marked contrast to the record number of complaints received by Ofcom for the EastEnders baby swap storyline, which a number of viewers found offensive in its depiction of a mother who reacted to the cot death of her own baby by stealing another child.

Ofcom ruled in favour of the BBC on that occasion, saying "sufficient editorial context" had been provided.
