Hollyoaks bad boys Brendan Brady and Simon Walker will be at the centre of dramatic scenes as they feature in their own special episode later this month.

Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) has recently been plotting revenge against his enemy Sampson in the aftermath of Lynsey's murder, and his attempts to get even result in a one-off standalone edition of Hollyoaks focusing entirely on the storyline.

Digital Spy can now present an exclusive first look at the episode, which is being billed as a chance for viewers to discover more about Brendan and Walker's unlikely friendship.

After planning to scupper Sampson's big drug deal, things go horribly wrong for Brendan and Walker (Neil Newbon) when they end up trapped inside a factory, surrounded by police.

It's clear that someone has grassed up Brendan, so he grows increasingly suspicious of Walker - still unsure of whether he can really trust him.

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has admitted that his character Brendan Brady will become "totally paranoid" in the coming days.

As seen in pictures released on Sunday, Brendan's attempts to hijack Sampson's drug deal backfire next week when he and Walker (Neil Newbon) end up trapped inside a factory, surrounded by police.

Realising that someone has grassed him up to the authorities, Brendan is left to wonder who is plotting against him.

Scanlan told Inside Soap: "When Brendan gets back to the village, he has no idea where Sampson is or how the deal went so wrong.

"He's totally paranoid and suspects everyone of sabotaging his plans. He's constantly looking over his shoulder - and the situation is going to get more and more perilous."

Brendan and Walker's failed drug plot plays out in a special standalone edition of Hollyoaks which focuses entirely on the storyline.

Scanlan said: "The episode is a standalone story and is shot in the style of the movie Reservoir Dogs. It features flashbacks from when Brendan and Walker first met, and you learn about their history."

Hollyoaks airs the episode next Tuesday (August 14) at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks has been throwing up all kinds of surprises lately, and in last night’s gripping two-hander they gave us another when we finally learnt the truth about mysterious Walker. Drum roll please… He’s an undercover policeman!

Ever since slippery Simon Walker arrived in the village a few months ago, we’ve been asking ourselves two questions – who is he, and what does he really want with Brendan Brady?

Last night we got our answer. Walker bears both a professional and personal vendetta against the moustached madman. And for those who are still a bit kerfuffled, here’s why.

While Bren was serving time last year (thanks to getting stitched up by serial killer Silas), undercover cop Walker had been employed to pose as a cellmate in order to try and crack the shady Brady’s drug trafficking ring.

Coincidentally (or not), Walker had his own reason for wanting Mr B banged up behind bars on a permanent basis. It transpired Brendan had supplied Walker’s brother Cam with drugs, and the inexperienced lad had overdosed in the bath, leaving him brain dead. Yikes!

At the end of the episode, we cut to Walker sitting tearfully at Cam’s bedside, promising that although he’d cocked up his chance to get Brendan captured during the factory heist, he wouldn’t rest until the Irishman got his comeuppance. Just how far will he go to exact his revenge though?

While we try to recover from the shock of all those revelations (and work out how on earth Walker knows Ally, or if he’s in on Lynsey’s murder), we’re looking forward to seeing how the Walker/Brendan saga unfolds
