Hollyoaks airs a big week for Ste Hay next month as he bids an emotional farewell to Amy Barnes - and meets his boyfriend Doug Carter's parents in unexpected circumstances.

Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies) is heading for heartbreak in the coming days as she splits from her Australian boyfriend Ally Gorman, leading her to make a big decision about her future.

Initially struggling with the break-up, Amy heads off for a boozy night out with best friend Michaela McQueen to take her mind off things.

However, when she returns home, events take an unexpected turn as Amy drunkenly tries to make a move on a horrified Ste!

Amy feels humiliated after being rejected by Ste (Kieron Richardson), especially when he confronts her over her behaviour the next morning.

In the end, Amy decides that she needs a change in her life and announces that she is leaving Hollyoaks. Ste is then forced to say a tearful goodbye to Amy and the kids as they leave the village behind.

Later in the week, as Ste struggles without his family around, there is further drama in store for his personal life as Doug's parents Connie (Julia Montgomery-Brown) and Herb (Todd Boyce) arrive in the village unexpectedly.

Connie and Herb have no idea that Doug (PJ Brennan) is gay, and the deli owner enlists Leanne's help as he is scared to tell them the truth about his sexuality.

As Leanne (Jessica Forrest) announces that she is Doug's girlfriend and they're expecting a baby together, Connie and Herb are delighted. But how will Ste react?

Mercedes is frustrated when she catches Browning with another woman and determines to make sure he knows that he can't push her around.

Meanwhile, the walls are closing in for Jen as her brother learns the truth about her and Tilly.

Elsewhere, Ste says a tearful goodbye to Amy.

Also today, Leanne tries to win back her friends, while Brendan is shocked by an unexpected visitor

Following an anonymous tip off, Mercedes finds herself facing some tough questions from the police about Lynsey's murder. Will she get anyone to corroborate her alibi?

Meanwhile, Jen insists that her relationship with Tilly is nothing more than 'no strings' fun - but will Tilly be able to accept that?

Elsewhere, Ste is missing his kids. He grows increasingly frustrated when it seems that Doug doesn't understand him and turns to an old acquaintance for comfort. At the same time, Doug has a shock when his parents turn up unexpectedly!

Also today, Mitzeee is struggling to cope with prison life, while Brendan is horrified to learn that Declan is in deep trouble.

10th

Doug's parents mistake Leanne for Doug's girlfriend. Afraid to come out to them, Doug enlists Leanne's help - but will he live to regret it?

Meanwhile, Doctor Browning is frustrated to learn that Mercedes has been in touch with his ex-wife, but Riley is increasingly concerned about their turbulent relationship - is Mercedes in over her head?

Elsewhere, Brendan is more determined than ever to teach Sampson a lesson once and for all, as he plans to scupper Sampson's big drug deal. He's unaware that Sampson isn't the one he should be worried about, it's someone much closer to home…

Also today, Jen is faced with a dilemma - Tilly or her career?
