Marlon & Laurel as a couple might just stop me watching Emmerdale. I'll make do with the updates here instead.

So is Emmerdale going to fire the actors who play Paddy and Rhona? I wonder what's going to happen because Paddy and Rhona are really boring. Also, since Marlon is the father of Leo doesn't he get a say in his child being moved thousands of miles away to New Zealand? I actually don't mind Laurel and Marlon together I think Ashley is a jerk and a jackass he was so cruel to his father Sandy.

Coming up on Emmerdale, Amy Wyatt is stunned to come face-to-face with her reckless mother Kerry during a night out.

Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny) is having a belated 18th birthday celebration in Hotten with Victoria, determined to let off some steam by enjoying a great night.

When Amy meets a man at a bar, there is an instant attraction between them and soon they are kissing. However, Amy is in for a shock when an angry woman suddenly pulls them apart and attacks her.

As Amy reels over the altercation, she realises that the woman in question is her mum Kerry (Laura Norton). After laying into her boyfriend for cheating on her, Kerry tries to apologise to Amy - but the feisty teenager doesn't want to hear it.

Kerry then chases Amy down the street, keen to hand over her phone number so they can stay in touch. Amy is left shocked and fuming - not only has her birthday night out been ruined, her mother is back on the scene…

Sunday

Paddy is in turmoil as he works himself up to make the phone call to accept the job in New Zealand. After Paddy does so, he and Rhona are excited, but are quickly brought back to reality with the thought of breaking the news to Marlon.

Later, Marlon is totally devastated to hear what they are planning and Paddy feels terrible about the decision. Marlon is bitter and angry when he learns that their wedding is being moved forward to accommodate their plans to leave. Marlon makes up his mind, adamant that if they do go, they will have to leave his son Leo behind…

Meanwhile, Zak is determined to make things up to Lisa and offers to do the house chores while she goes out with Lizzie. Lisa is pleased that Zak is trying and tells Lizzie she has to give him another chance, but hopes the relationship is worth fighting for. Later, Zak is hopeful when Lisa tells him that she is working on sorting out their relationship.

Elsewhere, Pollard is not happy to discover that Rishi will be helping out at the B&B while he recovers, while Victoria is fed up with Alex borrowing money from her.

Monday

Paddy is all set on leaving for New Zealand regardless of Marlon's complaints. However, Pearl is upset to hear of Paddy and Rhona's plans and makes things awkward by asking Marlon why he hasn't stopped them. Marlon begs Paddy not to take his son away from him, but Paddy explains that he is bored with life in the village. Marlon is sympathetic, but explains that he will have nothing left if they leave.

Paddy soon suggests that Marlon could move to New Zealand too. Marlon is shocked, but Paddy promises him it will be amazing. Marlon makes up his mind to join them, as there is nothing for him in the village anymore. However, Marlon's enthusiasm over the decision quickly fades once Paddy and Rhona have gone.

Meanwhile, Amy is suspicious as Val sets Rishi to work in the B&B kitchen. Later, Pollard arrives and tells Rishi that his plans to change the menu are scrapped, as he is back. Val is thrilled that her tricks to get Pollard back to work have paid off, but Brenda is worried about Pollard's recovery. Amy eventually explains to Pollard that Val had no intention of changing the menu, which leaves Pollard furious.

Elsewhere, Laurel is hit hard by Marlon's decision to leave the village, while Victoria is furious with Alex for leaving the bath running and flooding the house.

Tuesday

Amy and Victoria head into Hotten for Amy's belated birthday celebrations. Victoria is fed up with Alex, while Amy is determined that they are going to have a great night out. Amy meets a man in the bar and soon they are kissing until an angry woman named Kerry pulls them apart and punches a shocked Amy in the face.

Amy stares in recognition as the woman - her mother - lays into her boyfriend for cheating on her. Kerry tries to apologise to Amy and chases her down the street to hand over her phone number. Amy is left shocked and fuming - not only has her birthday night out been ruined, her mother is back on the scene…

Meanwhile, Laurel opens up to Rhona that she and Marlon barely speak anymore. Rhona suggests him moving away might help as it will give them both a chance to move on. Rhona asks Laurel to be her bridesmaid, before confiding how she secretly wishes Marlon wasn't joining them in New Zealand, as Leo is so young he will not know any different.

Elsewhere, Chas attempts to ignore Cameron and flirts with Dan, Marlon is still hankering after Laurel, while Alex is grateful when Moira offers him a place to stay.

Wednesday

Val is suspicious over Amy's swollen lip. Guessing there is more to it, Val reminds Amy that she is there for her. Soon afterwards, Val tricks Victoria into revealing everything about the confrontation at the pub. Later, Val confronts Amy, explaining that she and Pollard will support her whatever happens. Amy holds strong by vowing that she doesn't want her mum back in her life.

As the day continues, Kerry arrives in the village and Moira unwittingly tells her where Amy lives and works. After Kerry has had a drink for courage, she heads to find Amy. However, she is met on the doorstep by a fierce Val, who gives Kerry a piece of her mind. But is it the last we have seen of Kerry?

Meanwhile, Victoria is grumpy as she has to find the money to fix up the house after the flood. She is not happy to discover that Alex is living it up at the farm, eating a cooked breakfast prepared by Moira, who seems glad to have Alex around.

Elsewhere, Chas feels awkward around Debbie and Cameron when they come to the pub for lunch, while Sandy advises Laurel that it may not be too late to tell Marlon how she feels.

Thursday

Val barges over to see Pollard, who is aghast as Val relays the news about Kerry. Both worry about whether they should tell Amy that her mum tried to visit. At the same time, Amy tells Victoria that Kerry has messaged her, although she has not read it yet.

Taking the phone, Victoria then reads aloud Kerry's message, in which she apologises for 'smacking Amy' and relays how she came to find her at the B&B but was seen off by a 'Rottweiler woman called Val'. Amy is left reeling by the realisation that Kerry has tracked her down to the village…

Meanwhile, Rhona and Paddy are shocked when vicar Jude springs a surprise - due to his busy schedule, their wedding rehearsal has to be today. When Marlon and Laurel arrive early at the church, it's clear that Laurel has something to tell Marlon but can't quite find the words. Eventually after the rehearsal, Laurel plucks up the courage and broaches the subject of him leaving for New Zealand. Marlon listens as Laurel declares her love for him, but how will he react?

Elsewhere, Debbie thinks Cameron is still acting suspiciously and heads to the pub to voice her concerns to Chas.

Marlon is confused and angry that Laurel has not said this before. Marlon explains that he can't cope with the heartache again, or to be her plan B just because it has gone wrong with Ashley. Soon afterwards, Marlon opens up to Chas about what has just happened. Marlon explains his concerns, but adds that his biggest fear is moving to New Zealand and leaving Laurel behind.

Later, Laurel returns to the pub to talk to Marlon alone. She lays her heart on the line and questions whether he too still loves her. Marlon admits that he does, and soon Laurel and Marlon are together in a bittersweet reunion, with the knowledge that Marlon is about to move to New Zealand for two years…

Meanwhile, Debbie continues to quiz Chas about whether she suspects Cameron is up to something behind her back. Chas can't defend Cameron any longer and asks Debbie to follow her instincts over whether she can trust him. When Debbie broaches the subject with Cameron he is evasive, yet full of bitterness about Chas. Later, Cameron pulls Chas aside, furious that she was disloyal by allowing Debbie to question his trust. He then makes a suspicious call on his mobile - what is he up to?

Elsewhere, Victoria dumps Alex as he doesn't seem to be taking their relationship seriously, while Val, Pollard and Amy discuss what to do about Kerry.

Friday

Marlon is still confused over whether to stay behind with Laurel or leave for New Zealand with his son Leo. Laurel heads to see Marlon, reminding him that she wants them to be a proper couple and a family.

Later, Marlon sees Leo and as he holds his son in his arms, he is aware of the enormity of the decision. Paddy and Rhona start to suspect that Marlon is wobbling about joining them in New Zealand and Paddy tries to get the truth, but Marlon is evasive. Eventually Marlon goes to see Laurel, announcing that he wants to stay behind in the village with her.

Meanwhile, Cameron knows he's in Debbie's bad books, but she doesn't want to discuss it as Sarah has another hospital appointment. Debbie's suspicions are further piqued when Cain makes it known that Cameron has vanished from work again. Cain is furious when Cameron returns to the garage but is evasive over where he has been. Later, when Debbie is out of the room, Cain confronts Cameron, who calls his bluff by showing him the reason he was away. He has bought Debbie a ring and shows it to Cain.

Elsewhere, Charity taunts Rachel who is late for work after feeling sick, Robbie flirts with Priya, while Katie comes clean to Declan by revealing that Robbie freaks her out.
