Meanwhile, Hollyoaks fans will see the battle for Riley Costello's affections take a shocking twist in the coming days as Mercedes McQueen is found stabbed.

The dramatic incident comes in the climax to the soap's stalker storyline, which has seen Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) secretly terrorising her love rival Mitzeee Minniver.

Viewers will watch Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) and Riley finally get together in a few days' time after confessing their true feelings for each other.

At first, Mitzeee is thrilled as it seems like she has everything she's ever wanted - but events soon take a disturbing turn as she suffers a fresh wave of harassment.

With scheming Mercedes up to her old tricks, Mitzeee is horrified to realise that her stalker is back on the scene. As her tormentor's escalating antics leave her deeply paranoid, Mitzeee begins taking antidepressant tablets to help her through the ordeal.

Events come to a head when Mercedes pays a visit to Mitzeee at the flat, under the pretence of wanting to see whether the glamour girl is okay. Having consumed a dangerous mix of tablets and wine, Mitzeee isn't herself - and she is livid when Mercedes reveals her secret by letting slip that she has been the stalker all along.

Soon afterwards, Lynsey and Riley arrive at the flat to find Mercedes with a knife injury and Mitzeee with blood on her hands. Has Mitzeee done the unthinkable and stabbed Mercedes?

A loved-up Mitzeee and Riley prepare to go public, but a humiliated Mercedes is determined to put an end to their happiness and decides to turn the heat up on Mitzeee.

Meanwhile, Walker warns Ally to keep schtum about his past, but when a passing Lynsey witnesses it, Walker is oblivious to the fact that he's put someone else on his trail.

Elsewhere, Doug and Ste break the news of their new landlord to Amy.

Also today, a rebellious Lacey decides she's had enough of Martha's hypocrisy.


Tuesday

With the return of her stalker, Mitzeee starts to lose her grip on reality and a night out with the girls descends into chaos as her paranoia reaches new heights.

Riley is horrified when he realises the true extent of the situation, but when a faux concerned Mercedes learns that her plan is working, she decides to pay Mitzeee a visit. Tensions heighten between the two women with horrifying consequences…

Meanwhile, Nancy is nervous as she braces herself for tomorrow's scan.

Elsewhere, Callum's frustrations grow as he feels totally alone


Wednesday

As a panicked Riley and Lynsey race to get Mercedes to the hospital, Mitzeee turns to Brendan for help - but can she convince him of her innocence?

Meanwhile, Jacqui takes charge as the McQueens rally around Mercedes's bedside, desperate for answers - but will she tell the truth?

Elsewhere, Callum confronts Ash about their troubled family.


Thursday

Mercedes revels in her new victim status as Mitzeee is forced to face a future in prison - but whose side will Riley take?

Meanwhile, Lynsey is determined to uncover the truth about Walker, but when she pushes Ally for the information, she's left with more questions than answers.

Elsewhere, Callum despairs as Martha hits an all-time low and insists that things must change - now.

Also today, Darren and Nancy are nervous as they go for their scan and pray for some good news.

Finally, an old enemy pays Brendan a visit…


Friday

Joel finds himself in an explosive situation as Brendan's enemies use him as a pawn in their plan to get revenge, but will Brendan be able to save him in time?

Hollyoaks airs explosive scenes this evening (June 26) as Mitzeee Minniver finally cracks under the pressure of her stalker ordeal.

Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) is terrified in tonight's episode as she realises that her tormentor is back on the scene, and when scheming Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) continues to secretly terrorise her, the glamour girl relies on a dangerous cocktail of pills and alcohol to ease her pain.

Later, after making a fool of herself at The Dog by accusing Lynsey of being the stalker, Mitzeee heads back to the flat and struggles to remain calm.

When Lynsey and Mercedes turn up to check on her, Mitzeee's paranoia intensifies as she brandishes a knife. When the situation escalates, there are horrifying consequences…

Hollyoaks aired its most shocking storyline twist of the year so far tonight (June 28) as Lynsey Nolan was found dead in E4's first look episode.

Fan favourite Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) made the heartbreaking discovery in a dramatic cliffhanger for the soap, shortly after his war with enemy Sampson had begun to hot up.

Karen Hassan, who played Lynsey, filmed her Hollyoaks exit scenes a few weeks ago, but show bosses kept her departure under wraps so fans would be surprised by the storyline twist.

Lynsey's death will now spark a huge whodunit storyline as a number of suspects had a motive for wanting to get rid of her.

The Irish nurse was always the biggest enemy of serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle), and with the cunning villain returning to screens in upcoming episodes, fans may wonder whether he had something to do with her passing.

Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) has also become increasingly deranged in recent weeks and wanted to keep Lynsey quiet after she discovered the truth about her stalking of Mitzeee Minniver.

Additionally, Ally Gorman (Dan O'Connor) and bad boy Walker (Neil Newbon) had both found themselves struggling to keep their secrets from an inquisitive Lynsey in recent episodes - providing them with a reason to target her.

Brendan's enemy Sampson is also in the frame as he has been trying to settle a score with the club owner.

Hassan's first Hollyoaks appearance came in 2008 as she starred in the first series of Hollyoaks Later. She then joined the main show as a regular cast member in 2010.

Lynsey will be best remembered for her dangerous cat and mouse game with evil Silas, which was the show's biggest storyline last year.

Hollyoaks viewers watching at Channel 4 pace will see Lynsey's final episode tomorrow (June 29) at 6.30pm. Next week's episodes, meanwhile, will see Silas's return scenes.
