Meanwhile, Hollyoaks bad boy Brendan Brady will remain at the centre of drama in the village as Walker arrives back on the scene.

Walker (Neil Newbon) doesn't get a warm welcome as he makes his return, with Cheryl feeling particularly concerned as she fears that Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) could be up to no good again.

Jealous Joel (Andrew Still) is also furious to see that Walker is back, but when he questions Brendan about this, he is confused when his mentor sticks up for Walker. Squaring up to Joel, Brendan reminds the teenager who's boss.

Joel refuses to keep his nose out of the situation as he is determined to find out what Brendan is up to.

When Joel follows Walker in an attempt to find out more about him, he makes an intriguing discovery about the mysterious newcomer… What is Walker hiding and how will Brendan react when Joel reports back to him?

Cheryl is unnerved when she sees an old face return to the village and fears that Brendan may be up to no good.

Meanwhile, the Savages are in a celebratory mood after their festival success, but their high spirits are crushed when they discover that their profits have been stolen. Barney is horrified when the finger of suspicion points at him, but can he prove his innocence?

Elsewhere, Mercedes makes the most of an opportunity to stir things with Lynsey.

Also today, Phoebe is stunned by a revelation from Lacey.


Tuesday

Joel is seething when he discovers that Walker is back and wants to know exactly what Brendan is up to.

Meanwhile, spurred on by Mercedes, a jealous Lynsey challenges Riley over his feelings towards Mitzeee. Desperate to prove his love for Lynsey, Riley suggests they should take their relationship to the next level.

Elsewhere, Dennis is gutted to discover that the Savages have left.

Also today, Lacey thinks she's found a new friend.

Wednesday

Brendan gets rough with Joel, who continues to goad him about Walker. But Joel makes an interesting discovery…

Meanwhile, Mercedes continues to stir trouble for Riley and Lynsey, but Mitzeee is devastated when she hears Riley and Lynsey's news. Feeling more alone than ever, Mitzeee looks for a way to vent her frustration.

Elsewhere, Carmel gets some exciting news, while Mercedes gets a new man.

Also today, Lacey sees her mum in a new light - but will she like what she sees?

Thursday


Brendan confronts Walker about Joel's discovery, but Walker insists that Joel doesn't know the full story and reveals a new side of himself to Brendan.

Meanwhile, Lynsey and Riley host the dinner party from hell and no matter how much Riley tries to prove otherwise, Lynsey fears she still has cause to worry about him and Mitzeee.

Elsewhere, Martha tries to buy Lacey's silence, but the tables are turned when Martha discovers Lacey is far from innocent.

Also today, Carmel worries that her dream of becoming the Face of Attwells could be over before it's begun.


Friday


Carmel pulls out all the stops to prepare for the Face of Attwells competition, but her actions have horrifying results.

Meanwhile, Lynsey calls time on her relationship with Riley, admitting that she can't be second best to Mitzeee. But with Mitzeee heading away on business, will he tell her the truth before it's too late?

Elsewhere, Joel is unnerved by Walker's continued presence in the village.

Also today, the Savages make a surprise return.

Carmel McQueen is left fighting for her life after an horrific accident. Poor Carmel enters a beauty contest, but is worried when the second round is all about natural beauty – something she’s not a fan of! Scared of appearing in public without her make-up, she borrows a tanning lamp from sister Michaela. But her plan for a natural glow backfires in terrifying fashion when the lamp explodes in her face! As the McQueens mount a bedside vigil in hospital, Carmel is out cold.

Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna has revealed details of the struggles ahead for her character Carmel Valentine as her injury storyline begins.

Carmel has an ordeal on the way in upcoming episodes as a tanning machine explodes when she is using it, leaving her with a face wound and serious burns.

The incident occurs as part of Carmel's ongoing desire to look her best for the Face of Attwells competition.

Merna, speaking of the consequences for her alter ego, told TV Times: "Carmel has spent years working in the beauty trade. Image is absolutely everything to her, so she's devastated.

"She feels ugly and thinks other people will think she's ugly too. She's always had this dream of meeting her Prince Charming, but she feels that's never going to happen now and she's going to be stuck on her own."

Sleazy Doctor Browning is among the hospital staff who look after Carmel during her recovery. However, it is Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan) who is forced to step in when Carmel makes a shocking decision.

Merna added: "She just can't see a future for herself. So she goes up onto the hospital roof with a view of jumping off."

Hollyoaks fans will see the story kick off tomorrow (June 15) at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
