Show bosses have confirmed that Amy will bump into her mother while out celebrating her 18th birthday in an upcoming episode.
As Amy flirts with a handsome man in a nightclub on her big day, she has no idea that he is her mum's boyfriend - but all becomes clear as she suddenly comes face-to-face with Kerry.
Kerry makes the most of her reunion with Amy and arrives in the village the next day to look for her, hoping to build bridges once and for all. Viewers will then see Kerry fight to get back into Amy's life.
Norton commented: "I am delighted to have been given this role. Emmerdale has always been my favourite soap and it's a joy and privilege to be joining the team. Kerry is an amazing and unpredictable, appealing character and I will have a lot of fun getting to grips with her.
"I have met up with Chelsea who plays Amy and I can't wait to play her reckless mum."
Emmerdale's series producer Stuart Blackburn added: "Laura is a fantastic actor and it's a delight to welcome her to the show. Her character Kerry is sure to liven things up for Amy, Val, Eric and everyone who crosses her path."
Norton's previous screen credits include roles in Vera, Steel River Blues and Angel Cake.
The actress begins filming in June and her first Emmerdale episode airs in mid-July.

Should have cast Jill Halfpenny as Amy's mother imo
Emmerdale star Chelsea Halfpenny has expressed her excitement over Amy Wyatt's upcoming reunion with estranged mother Kerry.
Show bosses recently announced the casting of actress Laura Norton as "reckless" Kerry, who was heartbroken when Amy was first taken into foster care.
Viewers see Kerry's first scenes on Tuesday, July 17, when Amy bumps into her on a night out. Kerry later tracks down Amy in the village.
Halfpenny told All About Soap of the pair's future: "There are going to be so many bridges to cross, because so much has happened way back in the past. Kerry's definitely going to have to change a lot if she wants a chance to work things out.
"And of course, Amy loves Val and Pollard now and sees them as her mum and dad. So who knows?"
Discussing the impact on Amy, she continued: "I'm looking forward to exploring her emotional side a bit more. She puts on this tough front, and the only time I've seen her vulnerable side was when she had the baby and she was talking to him. But I think there's a lot more to her."

Emmerdale's Chelsea Halfpenny has revealed that she is real-life friends with on-screen mum Laura Norton.
Halfpenny said that her relationship with Norton is a far cry from Geordie rebel Amy Wyatt's hatred of her mother Kerry.
She told What's on TV: "It's been class working with Laura. We just get on like a house on fire, and I know everybody probably says that, but we really have just clicked."
The Yorkshire soap regular, 20, also claimed that Norton isn't a maternal figure on set.
"Obviously she's not that much older than me in real life, she's not a motherly figure at all in real life," the star added.
"She's one of my good mates now and we get the giggles really bad as well on set which is not good!"

Emmerdale newcomer Laura Norton has predicted that Amy Wyatt will not find it easy to rid herself of her mother.
Norton, who plays Amy's estranged mother Kerry, also revealed that she is looking forward to scenes with other Dales cast members.
"She's got her feet right under the table now! Amy's really going to have her work cut out trying to get rid of her," she told Inside Soap.
"I'd love to see Kerry settle down in the village, but I don't think it's going to be an easy ride for her.
"Just as she starts to make progress with a situation, she can't help saying or doing something stupid and ruining it all."
"That said, I can't wait to see how she mixes things up among the folk of the Dales," the actress added.
Chelsea Halfpenny, who portrays Amy, recently declared her fondness for her on-screen mum Norton.
Fans of the ITV soap recently saw Kerry make a dramatic entrance by punching Amy at a nightclub for kissing her boyfriend.

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has said that she would not rule out a reunion for her character Kerry Wyatt and farmer Andy Sugden.
The pair had a brief fling in September, but will soon find themselves in close proximity again as Kerry moves back in with Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) in next week's episodes.
When Val and Eric Pollard kick Kerry out of their home following one mistake too many, her daughter Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny) arranges for her to get a place at Dale View - before making the surprising announcement that she will be joining her there.
Norton told Inside Soap of her alter ego's love life: "Kerry's last boyfriend was very young. But while there's a part of her that's never grown up, someone like Andy accepts her for who she is.
"At the moment she's working on her relationship with Amy, but if Andy sees that Kerry can be a good girl at the same time, then who knows? She's not trying to make anything happen, though - she's doing her best to leave it up to fate!"
Norton added that Kerry is delighted when Amy chooses to live with her rather than Eric and Val.
She said: "Kerry is just so touched by Amy's gesture, especially after everything that's happened. She could so easily have ended up back on a slippery slope with Amy telling her to get lost, but instead it turns into a new start. Kerry sees it as her chance to make amends and get to know Amy properly."

why does amy move out with her?
Emmerdale star Laura Norton has branded her character Kerry Wyatt "a liability".
The actress hinted that she can't see Kerry changing her ways anytime soon as the villagers continue giving her chances to prove herself.
Kerry lands a trial at the Sharmas' sweet factory after going job-hunting in tonight's episode (March 20), but whether the brothers have made the right decision in trusting her remains to be seen.
Describing her character on Daybreak this morning, Norton joked: "Demure, I would say, and charming. No, she's a liability! In the first episode that I was in, Chelsea Halfpenny - who plays my on-screen daughter - described her as a 'train crash on legs'."
On Kerry's new factory position, she added: "Yes, I get a job finally after ten months. What could possibly go wrong?"
Norton added that she has struck up a close friendship with Halfpenny and will be heading on holiday with her later this year.
Revealing their small age difference, she said: "If I had given birth to her in real life, it would have been when I was 8 years old. Have a think about that one!
"We just instantly hit it off. We've got exactly the same work ethic, we've got the same sense of humour, we're both very passionate about the characters in the show.
"We're going to Ibiza. It's really worrying actually! [We're going] with Isobel Hodgins who plays Victoria. There's going to be a few interesting stories when we come back!"
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt makes a bad decision while babysitting Sarah and Jack Sugden next week, leaving the youngsters unattended while she pops out to the shop.
Kerry is only gone for a few minutes, but her actions almost cause an accident as she returns to find Sarah trying to warm hot milk on the stove.
Knowing she's made a mistake, Kerry fears this could wreck her relationship with boyfriend Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) if he ever hears about her carefree attitude towards looking after his kids.
Here, Laura Norton - who plays Kerry - chats about her character's actions and where things go from here.
How is Kerry feeling about her relationship with Andy at the moment?
"Kerry is very happy in her relationship with Andy. She's never had a man in her life who's treated her as well as he does, so she'll do everything she can to hang onto that. Everything else that's going on in her life - the job and the fact that she's getting sick of the kids - are separate issues. Kerry will do everything in her power to keep this relationship as it is."
Does Andy have any inkling that Kerry is struggling with looking after the kids?
"Not at all, because Kerry has done everything in her power to make sure that Andy and Amy both see that she is fantastic with kids. Kerry went on a mission to look after Sarah and Jack on her own, because she wanted to prove to everyone that she'd changed.
"Kerry wants to be seen as a good role model, a good mam and not the person she was in the past. Now the cracks are starting to show, but Andy's the one person that she hides that from."
Is Kerry worried when she starts to struggle with looking after the kids?
"Definitely - because of the past and all the histrionics she's had with Amy. When the cracks show, at first she goes into denial. Kerry doesn't want to feel ashamed, so she just pretends that things are not a big deal or that they didn't really happen. But at the same time, there's still a massive part of Kerry that knows she's done wrong.
"Kerry genuinely is doing her best, but she just gets it wrong. She's never been taught how to do these things, so she's not very good at them. Kerry is not a natural mother type and she doesn't want to admit that."
Why does Kerry sneak out when she's supposed to be looking after Sarah and Jack?
"There's a few reasons. Kerry is popping out to the shop because she wants cigarettes. She's also getting bored because the kids are getting put on her time and time again. Even though she asked for that, Kerry is starting to realise that it's not what she signed up for - sitting in the house with kids every night. She wants to be young, having fun and out having drinks.
"In that moment, Kerry just sees this as popping out for two minutes while the kids are in bed. Kerry just probably thinks that she can get away with it and nobody will come to any harm."
What is Kerry faced with when she returns to the house?
"The kids were both in bed when Kerry left, but she comes back and Sarah is now awake. It turns out that baby Jack has woken up and Sarah has been shouting for Kerry, really frightened and not knowing what to do. Sarah does what she's seen her parents do, which is start to warm some milk for Jack.
"As Kerry walks in, there's a pan of boiling water on the stove and Sarah is just about to drop some milk into it. Kerry nearly dies with panic and stops her. She takes it out on Sarah slightly, but then she feels completely terrible and guilty. Kerry realises that the consequences of what she's done could have been very severe, so she feels awful."
When Kerry tells Sarah to keep this a secret, does she really think this is the best idea?
"For Kerry, it's the only option because she's got too much to lose. She's made too many mistakes in the past. In that moment she just decides that she'll never do it again, so it's best to pretend that it never happened. Kerry reckons that this will never crop up again or really affect Sarah in the future."
What happens when Sarah lets Kerry's mistake slip to Amy the next day?
"Amy confronts Kerry over this, but Kerry gets really defensive. She tries to brush it off as not being a big deal. However, she's not massively surprised by Amy's angry reaction, as they've never really settled with each other. Kerry is constantly on eggshells with Amy, so her finding out is the worst thing that could have happened. It'll cause friction in their relationship."
Does Kerry consider telling Andy the truth at this point?
"No, it's the last thing she wants to do! She can't lose Andy as she's never really had anything like this before. Andy is also a key to Kerry getting the relationship she wants with Amy. She's never had anyone like Andy before.
"In the past, Kerry's self-worth has been so low that she's gone with people who've treated her really badly. Andy is the first person to look past everything else and see Kerry as a really nice person underneath it all. Kerry can't believe her luck with Andy."
Do you think they make a good couple?
"I think they make a great couple. They have their little spats and rows about things, but when they're good together they're just like best mates. Kerry is an idiot for making the silly mistakes that she's making, because potentially she could have something amazing with Andy."
Do you think Kerry will ever change?
"I think it's hard, because she's in her 30s now. If you haven't made those fundamental changes by that age, then you're very much a creature of habit. Kerry is in so much denial that she doesn't want to open Pandora's Box. There's a world of pain inside, so she doesn't want to face up to that. Kerry would have to admit that she wasn't a very good person in the past. I think she wants to change and she'll keep trying until people believe it, but I don't know if she can."
What's your take on Amy and Kerry's relationship?
"It's a role reversal, as Amy acts like the mother. Since the day Kerry arrived in the village, she's the one who keeps making ridiculous mistakes and Amy is the one telling her to stop it. That must be difficult for Amy to deal with, but Kerry just doesn't know how to be a good mam.
"There's a massive bravado with Kerry, and what you see is not always how she feels deep down. She feels guilty that Amy is having to take on that motherly role and tell her off, because it's embarrassing and degrading for Kerry. But she just cannot be a responsible adult.
"As the story continues, Kerry actually starts to leave the kids alone again, even though she really believes she's changed. She just doesn't have those motherly instincts."
If Kerry was a friend of yours, what advice would you give to her?
"I'd tell her that her behaviour is ridiculous and she needs to sort herself out! Life isn't all about having fun and burying the past. Issues need to be spoken about, apologies need to be made and behaviour needs to change. But Kerry is one of those people who just thinks she's genuinely doing nothing wrong."
Would you like to see Kerry and Andy make a go of things?
"Definitely. If anyone could change Kerry, he could. She is a lovely lass underneath it all, she's just a bit broken and damaged."
What kind of a reaction do you get from the viewers for playing Kerry?
"It's weird, as there tends to be a bit of a split! Some people really like Kerry and relate to her. But then you do get the odd person who says, 'Stop drinking, look after your daughter, and dress your age!' I think people do see that Kerry has got a heart. I think the viewers like to watch people who makes mistakes, because we all do.
Emmerdale star Laura Norton has signed a new deal to stay in the soap.
The actress will continue to play Kerry Wyatt for a further year, the Daily Star Sunday reports.
"I'm absolutely thrilled to be staying in Emmerdale for another year," Norton said.
The 29-year-old teased that there are big storylines ahead for her character when she returns to the village on Tuesday following the fire.
Kerry tells Andy Sugden that she is pregnant after seeing him kiss her daughter Amy (Chelsea Halfpenny), leading to "emotional scenes".
Norton recently told Digital Spy: "Kerry does move on, and she does her best to come to terms with the fact that most of the village are upset with her.
"The relationships she had with Amy and Andy are now in the gutter, but she tries to hold her head up high, find somewhere to stay, make ends meet and make some friends. She does make a friend in somebody else."
She added that viewers often tell her they "can't help but feel sorry" for Kerry.

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has promised that there are "lovely scenes" ahead on the soap as her character Kerry Wyatt's baby lie is revealed.
Kerry is currently pretending to be pregnant with Andy Sugden's child in a desperate bid to reunite with the farmer.
When Kerry is knocked over in a hit and run accident next week, the game is finally up as Andy visits her in hospital and starts asking questions about whether the baby is okay.
Norton told All About Soap: "It's interesting because it's not the doctors who tell Andy - it's Kerry. She makes the decision to tell the truth. She spills everything and even ends up talking about old boyfriends she's had over the years. I hope, if we've nailed it, you'll get a bit of an insight into her character.
"There are some lovely scenes in the hospital between Kerry and Andy. She tells him about all these relationships, and the more she had, the less she thought she was worth."
While Andy does see a different side to Kerry in their heart-to-heart, viewers will have to wait and see whether he can ever forgive her.
Norton added: "I think he does sympathise with her a bit - he's the only one who sees something under the bravado. However, even if he does feel sympathy, she's still hurt him. After the fire, we saw he really cared about her, but now she's made that impossible for him."

Laura Norton has described herself as "so chuffed" to renew her Emmerdale contract.
The actress, who has played Kerry Wyatt in the ITV soap for a year, has signed a deal to star for a further 12 months.
The 30-year-old told PA: "Oh I'm so chuffed, honestly it's been such an amazing year for me.
"In terms of my career I've done loads of theatre and amazing jobs over the years but I turn 30 in a couple of weeks and to be in a job where you're secure and for me having a year in a show like this was brilliant. But then to get another one, it's just the icing on the cake."
Wyatt, who was this year nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at the British Soap Awards, added that she was honoured to be recognised for her character.
"I've been nominated for a couple of awards and those nominations, regardless of whether you win or not, are class because it's a recognition of the work you're doing," she said.
"It's good all round because I feel like the character is so well written and so well created and so well formed that it does deserve recognition."

Emmerdale actress Laura Norton has revealed that her co-stars make filming risque scenes easier.
Norton, who portrays Kerry Wyatt in the Dales-based soap, told PA that she feels confident in the writers' decisions for the character, but there have been moments she has been shocked by the scripts.
Kerry has caused havoc in the village since she arrived, including taking her bra off in the Woolpack, giving Adam Barton (played by Adam Thomas) a lapdance and getting involved in a series of drunken fights.
Norton said: "I'm up for anything because I trust the writers and I trust they know what they're doing with the character. I want to be as committed to the character as I can be.
"Don't get me wrong, there's times when I open a block of scripts and I think, 'Oh God,' but that's what the beauty of being an actor is all about, you constantly need to be challenged and pushed."
Norton said of the lapdancing scene: "I think you've got to throw yourself into it on the day.
"The lap dance, obviously that was very exposing because you've got all of your colleagues around you and you just have to completely go for it."
She added: "I was totally overwhelmed by how supportive my colleagues were on the day.
"Nobody said anything but everyone knew that was quite a difficult thing to do and quite exposing and it was probably quite nerve-racking for me but they laughed and they clapped every time that I did it, in every rehearsal and every take."

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has revealed that her character Kerry Wyatt's relationship with Dan Spencer could be over after she is accused of theft.
Dan is disappointed by Kerry's behaviour at the Home Farm charity table football game next week after she spills the charity bucket. Things go from bad to worse when Sean accuses her of stealing the cash.
Dan will then devastate Kerry by siding with his son instead of her, making it apparent that he doesn't fully trust her.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Norton said: "She's devastated because this is the one time that she's been accused of something she hasn't actually done!
"It leaves her wondering whether the relationship with Dan is going to work if he can't trust her."
After Dan confronts Kerry about stealing the money, the pair have a row and it looks as though it's over for the two of them.
However, later on, Kerry steps in on Sean's behalf when he's being intimidated by Robbie and suddenly Sean sees her in a totally different light. Feeling terrible about what has happened, Sean decides to tell his dad the truth.
Norton said: "I really hope Kerry and Dan work things out. I think they're lovely together. He brings out the softer side in her and I also think they've got the potential to have some absolutely mad adventures.
"I think that viewers are enjoying seeing them as a couple as well. They're definitely starting to warm to Kerry - she's a lovable rogue who doesn't mean anyone any harm and I think people can see that now.
"But my main hope for Kerry, as well as finding happiness and security in her relationship, is that she makes her daughter Amy a priority. She's the most important thing in her life."
Emmerdale couple Kerry Wyatt and Dan Spencer hit a problem in their relationship next week as they disagree over whether they should get married.
Kerry is determined to settle down with Dan as she feels that he's the one for her, but Dan has no desire for another wedding after his disastrous experiences with Ali and Chas.
Here, Laura Norton - who plays Kerry - explains why neither of the characters will want to back down in this battle of wills…
Why is Kerry so preoccupied with wanting Dan to propose?
"I think Kerry has always dreamed of getting married, but she felt that it would probably never happen for her because she's so flawed. When Kerry is at the factory, she gets goaded by her workmates a little bit about how it's never going to happen for her.
"It comes up in conversation because other people in the village are getting married, but a comment is made about how Kerry isn't marriage material. That hurts Kerry and it pushes her buttons. She becomes determined to prove them wrong."
Is Kerry more focused on the idea of a big wedding, or securing a long-term future with Dan?
"In the beginning, it's a response to people saying that she wouldn't look good on her wedding day and that she's not marriage material. For Kerry it's about the proposal, getting engaged and proving people wrong. Then she gets hooked on the idea of the big day and what it might be like.
"Kerry is also genuinely keen on spending the rest of her life with Dan, because she does love him. Once it's been mentioned, she thinks why would Dan not propose to her if he's in love with her?"
How does Dan react when Kerry starts to drop big hints about them getting married?
"At first Kerry thinks that it's all going very well, because she just sees and hears what she wants to! Kerry is dropping hints and Dan isn't really responding at all, but she just sees things in a positive way. When Kerry realises that Dan is actually ignoring her and avoiding the subject, it makes her feel massively insecure."
Why is Dan so keen to avoid the subject?
"Because they're so happy and Dan thinks that if it isn't broke, they shouldn't fix it. He's had some really bad experiences in the past with Ali turning out to be a lesbian and Chas jilting him. Dan thinks that him and Kerry have got something really good going, so why spoil it by putting rings on each other's fingers? He doesn't want to jinx the relationship."
Kerry also gets false hope for a moment!
"Yes, they reach a point where Dan is not responding to the idea. Kerry is giving Dan a really hard time and ignoring him a little bit, but then he walks into the house with a present for her. When Kerry opens the box, she's incredibly disappointed because she was hoping it was a ring and it's not!"
Does Kerry explain why she feels so strongly about the idea?
"She tells Dan that if they love each other, why would they not get married? He's done it with other women, so why not her? Kerry is feeling very insecure."
Could this make Kerry doubt their relationship?
"I don't think Kerry would necessarily doubt how Dan feels about her. She is thick-skinned, but she is insecure and vulnerable underneath it all. This brings all of that back up again and it stems back to how she's felt about herself for her whole life. Kerry starts to think, 'What's the point in this relationship if Dan doesn't want to commit to it?'"
Could Kerry's attitude push Dan away?
"Kerry has got the ability and the potential to push anybody over the edge! What she probably thinks will push Dan into proposing could have the opposite effect. She'll have to be careful because she could end up pushing him away…"
As Laura, do you think Kerry and Dan should get married?
"I think it's a lovely idea, but I can totally see it from Dan's point of view as well. If there's nothing wrong with something, why change it? But I do think they are a perfect match for each other and I can only imagine what the wedding day would be like if they did get married! I think they're made for each other, so I personally think it would be a good idea."
What is Kerry's idea of a dream wedding?
"She'd want it to be like Katie Price's wedding! It might also be like My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding - she'd want to go all out and be in control of everything, including Dan's outfit! She'd want lots of pink and sparkly things, and everybody would be invited because Kerry would want to be the centre of attention. I think it would be quite ridiculous!"
Kerry also starts to get involved in a beauty business with Bernice in another upcoming story. Are you pleased with that?
"I'm really, really excited - I can't wait to work with Sam Giles who plays Bernice. The characters of Kerry and Bernice clash a little bit, so there's potential for loads of conflict and comedy stuff. I also can't wait to see what happens when Kerry gets her hands on people in that context!"
Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt turns the tables on her boyfriend Dan Spencer next week, trying to make him jealous following his half-hearted proposal.
Keen to encourage Dan to fight for their relationship, Kerry starts flirting with a French cyclist named Laurent - offering him a place to stay after he falls off his bike while passing through the village.
In real life, Laura Norton - who plays Kerry - is among the nominees in the Best Comedy Performance category at this weekend's British Soap Awards.
Digital Spy recently caught up with Laura for an exclusive chat about her nomination, Kerry's relationship dramas and the upcoming arrival of Dan's brother Daz.
How does it feel to be nominated for Best Comedy Performance?
"It's lovely. For an actor, it's great to be nominated for any award because it's so nice to get the recognition. A comedy nomination also holds a special place in my heart because I've worked really hard on this character and trying to make the portrayal truthful. I never intended for Kerry to be a comedy character, it's just something that happened over time with the writers and her behaviour.
"I also laugh a lot myself - I don't take life very seriously! I obviously do when I need to, but for me it's a lovely thing to be nominated for something where you're making other people laugh or smile. That's a really nice feeling."
Have you given any thought to possibly winning the award?
"I definitely haven't got any expectations. I would love to win it, but I'm just so happy with the nomination because it's a lovely feeling to know that your bosses and your colleagues are happy with the work that you're doing. It'd be great to win it, but at the same time I wouldn't be gutted if I didn't because the nomination is half-way there!
"There are also some great actors who have been nominated in this category. Simon Gregson in Coronation Street is so brilliant at what he does and he's been in that soap for such a long time, so to be nominated against him is brilliant."
Do you think Emmerdale is in with a good chance across the board this year?
"I hope so - I think it should be! We've had a fantastic couple of years and the show has just gone from strength to strength. The show is in its prime and it just feels like this is Emmerdale's time. We won Best Soap at the Inside Soap Awards and that was a public vote, so it just goes to show how popular the show is with the viewers at the moment.
"In the past couple of years we've had the live episode, the Woolpack siege and the Home Farm fire. The storylines have been great - especially the siege. I remember that caused such a stir at the time and it just felt like all of the country were watching it. I'd just say please, please vote for Emmerdale if you think it should win! It's got to at some point, so why not this year?"
When Kerry was first introduced, we weren't really supposed to like her. Would you say the fans have warmed to her now?
"I think they have, as people are starting to understand why she behaves the way she does. When I first came into the show, Kerry was just a character who was behaving badly and we weren't really sure why she was doing it. Now that I've been there for two years, people are getting to know the character better.
"Kerry speaks her mind and she makes bad decisions, but it's because she's insecure. People have warmed to her now they've seen that she's vulnerable and flawed, like we all are. I think people want to see her do well and come good at some point!"
When your on-screen daughter Chelsea Halfpenny announced that she was leaving Emmerdale, did you ever worry about what that would mean for Kerry?
"Of course, because I was so closely attached to her storylines. But I think there was something about the character of Kerry where you could literally put her with any character or in any situation and it would work.
"By the time Chelsea had decided to leave, Kerry and Dan had found each other and it was a match made in heaven - even though it doesn't always seem that way! For once in her life, Kerry had found somewhere she didn't want to leave, even though she'd moved around her whole life. She'd found someone who loved her and it was just meant to be."
Do you miss working with Chelsea?
"I do - one of my favourite things in the world was to go to work and act opposite Chelsea in a scene. We gelled together really well and became really good friends, so I think that came across on screen as well.
"If we were on a night out, people always asked if I was Chelsea's real mam - which is quite offensive in real life as she's only seven years younger than me! (Laughs.) I really miss working with her."
Do you think Kerry will ever overcome her insecurities?
"I think there's potential for her to realise that she's not a bad person and she deserves to be loved, but fundamentally she's such a flawed person and she bases most of her decisions on the fact that nobody has ever really loved her since she was little.
"Kerry's main thing is that she feels unlovable, and because she's in her 30s now, it will take an awful lot for her to change. She won't settle and be content - I think there's still going to be a rocky road."
Do you hope Kerry and Dan will make it down the aisle?
"It'd be nice to see them get married, but it's a bit turbulent at the moment because Kerry started wanting the wedding for the wrong reasons. It all started because people were making digs at her, saying that she's not marriage material.
"Then when Dan didn't seem keen, it became something else and it touched a nerve with her. If their relationship is real, Kerry doesn't understand why Dan wouldn't want to marry her, so it's brought out all of her insecurities."
Next week Kerry gets her own back by befriending a cyclist called Laurent, doesn't she?
"Yes - even though Dan has now proposed to Kerry, she thinks that he's only done it because she's gone off in a huff. Kerry just feels a bit put out and tells Dan that if he wants their relationship to go anywhere, he's going to have to try a bit harder. She's not very happy with him and she's wondering whether their relationship is worth it.
"When the new character Laurent comes in, Kerry starts to have a bit of fun with him. Nothing happens, but Kerry enjoys pushing Dan's buttons and trying to make him jealous! The scenes coming up are hysterical and Alexander [Devrient], who's playing the cyclist, is brilliant. He's such a character and we had so much fun doing those scenes."

Will the upcoming arrival of Dan's brother Daz affect Kerry?
"I'm sure it will! The dynamics will change. Kerry loves new people as she's so friendly and up for a party, but I'm sure there'll also be some conflict somewhere - it's just whether it's between Kerry and Daz, or Dan and Daz! We'll have to wait and see, but I'm sure something will turn upside down!"
Have you filmed many scenes yet with Mark Jordon, who's playing Daz?
"I've done a couple with him. It's weird, because he does really look like Liam who plays Dan! They could be brothers in real life! On Mark's first day on set, it was like he'd been there forever and the chemistry between all of us - especially Mark and Liam - was brilliant.
"We were laughing all day and it was almost like it had become a different show for a day, as it felt like we were filming a sitcom! We didn't know the scenes would be funny to start with, but they just turned out that way. We're filming more scenes this week and I'm really looking forward to that. Daz's arrival is mixing things up and creating a different dynamic in our group, which is really interesting."
Would you like the show to introduce another member of Kerry's family?
"I would love that. I think somebody from Kerry's past has to show up at some point, because there's a whole world of pain around her that I think we don't know anything about yet.
"It'd be interesting for the audience to see Kerry on a different level and find out exactly why she's so insecure, vulnerable and badly behaved. Maybe that could be a family member or an old boyfriend, but I'd love to find out more of Kerry's backstory."
Are you sticking around on Emmerdale for the foreseeable future?
"I am, as I've just had my contract renewed a couple of weeks ago. I've got another year on the show, which is amazing and I'm really excited about it. There's nowhere I'd rather be!"
Emmerdale is lining up a soap wedding day to remember as outrageous Kerry Wyatt prepares to tie the knot with her fiancé Dan Spencer.
Kerry is hoping for a fresh start now that she has found happiness with Dan (Liam Fox), but her dream ceremony is about to come under serious threat when Dan is given reason to doubt her loyalty to him.
Digital Spy recently caught up with Laura Norton, who plays Kerry, for all the gossip on her character's big day.
How did you feel about getting a big soap wedding storyline?
"I was over the moon. It's always nice to play dress-up and be the centre of attention for a day, but especially when you're playing a character like Kerry! She's so outrageous, so I always knew that her wedding was going to be something quite spectacular. It was never just going to be a demure, beautiful wedding - something was always going to go wrong…"
The build-up to the wedding has seen Dan grow concerned over Kerry's closeness to his brother Daz. How would you describe her feelings for the village's newcomer?
"Kerry thinks that Daz is a bit of a kindred spirit. They've got similar personalities as they're both up for a laugh. Daz is quite boisterous and loud, just like Kerry is.
"Dan hasn't told Kerry anything about his past with Daz, so she just thinks that Daz is a lovely guy who is successful and good fun. Kerry thinks that Dan is being quite hard on Daz. Because she doesn't know much about their sibling rivalry, she doesn't see how much Daz is winding Dan up and making him feel insecure."
How does Kerry react when Daz tries to kiss her on the eve of the wedding?
"It comes completely out of the blue for Kerry. Up until this point, Kerry and Daz have been really good friends and she is totally oblivious that there could be something else going on. Daz coming onto her is the last thing that she ever would have expected, but he has started to develop feelings for her.
"It happens on the night of the stag and hen parties, as Kerry nips back to get a CD and Daz comes back to the house too. They're on their own, so Daz sees an opportunity to make a move on her. They've both had a drink, so Daz tells Kerry how brilliant she is. Kerry goes along with it because it's nice for her to hear a compliment and she's been arguing with Dan recently.
"When Daz makes his move on Kerry, she's just in complete shock. She doesn't kiss him back, but she doesn't pull away either so it looks like she's going along with it. Dan walks in on this moment, so even though Kerry isn't actually kissing Daz back, it looks like she is cheating on Dan and she has to deal with the consequences of that. The wheels come off and there's a few fireworks!"
Does Kerry start to see Daz's true colours after this?
"Yeah, she does! All along Daz has been making sly remarks and putting Dan down, but Kerry has been defending him the whole time, thinking Daz is absolutely brilliant. She thinks that she has found a friend in Daz, to the point where her and Dan have really fallen out over this.
"In that moment when the kiss happens and Dan storms out, Kerry starts to realise that Daz might be playing games and trying to come between them."

Dan sees everything
Is Kerry hurt when Dan doesn't believe that she is innocent in this situation?
"She is, but it's classic Kerry because she's always putting her foot in it. This is the one time that she hasn't actually done anything wrong, but it's like the boy who cried wolf. She's done so many things in the past, so she can't really blame Dan for thinking that she might have got carried away with Daz in the moment.
"Kerry is always doing stuff like this as she's absolutely flawed, but she loves Dan more than anything else in the world. She reacted the way she did with Daz because it was just a complete shock. She does everything in her power to make Dan see that it was all Daz and not her. Kerry needs to prove that she loves Dan and she wants to marry him!"
Kerry goes to the wedding, but how worried is she that she might be jilted by Dan?
"On the morning of the wedding, Kerry goes to see Dan and makes a big speech by telling him all of the reasons that she loves him and why she wants to be with him. She tells him that she's going to go to the church and he'd better be there!
"Once Kerry has done that big speech, she is quite confident that Dan is going to turn up. She psyches herself up, but then she ends up waiting for Dan just a little bit too long and she starts to worry that the wedding isn't going to happen. I can't really give away much more, but there's going to be a whole other dimension to the story that happens next…"

What did you make of Kerry's wedding dress? Did you have any input into it?
"I did, as I spoke to the costume designers about the kind of dress that I thought Kerry would wear. I mentioned Katie Price and Peter Andre's wedding, because that is exactly the kind of thing that Kerry would go for - she'd want to look like a princess! Kerry would want a lot of flesh on show, a tiara and lots of sparkles.
"We talked about it loads, then costume went away and did their thing and it was brilliant. The dress literally couldn't have been more perfect. Personally I would never wear it, but for Kerry it couldn't have been better. It's flamboyant, loud and unapologetic - just like her!"
Are soap weddings difficult to film because of the long shooting days?
"It was actually one of the best filming days I've had! The sun was shining, it was hot and it was literally how you'd want your own wedding day to be. There was also a lovely group of actors involved, and I loved the scripts because they're funny and moving at the same time.
"I was so looking forward to doing this. It was a brilliant couple of days. I know they can be long filming days and you need to get lots of shots, but everything that we did was actually slightly different to a normal soap wedding, so I absolutely loved it!"
There are also some scenes coming up where Bob gives Kerry some home truths about how she's seen by other people. How does she react?
"At that point, Kerry is feeling really down on herself. Bob tries to give her a bit of friendly advice, because Dan has told her off for acting like a child all of the time.
"Bob tells Kerry that maybe it's because of the way she dresses. Kerry takes that one comment on board and runs away with it, deciding that she wants a complete image overhaul! She completely changes her image and it lasts for about two seconds, but it's really funny! Bless her - she'll do anything to be loved!"

Kerry changes her image!
Do you hope Dan is still the one for Kerry?
"I do! As dysfunctional as they are, I think they're a match made in heaven. They're soulmates and they were made for each other. I think they're going to have more ups and downs because that's the way that they work. They won't be content anytime soon, but I definitely want them to work through everything."
Mark Jordon (Daz) was only with the show for a short period, but would you like to see him back?
"Definitely! He was brilliant. He came in for about 15 episodes and we had a three-week filming period doing those. As an on-screen family we have our own little dynamic as we all know each other so well, but it was literally like he'd been there for years.
"Mark is a brilliant actor and his character fitted in really well. We all got on, we all laughed a lot and his character is fantastic. I definitely think there's scope for him to come back and cause more trouble. I think the whole cast would like to see him back."
Would you like Kerry to change her ways on a more permanent basis?
"In some ways I would, as I want her to be happy and feel secure about herself, but at the minute I don't think she would change. She's too set in her ways and it takes a long time for those kind of big changes to be implemented.
"Kerry always makes bad decisions, but they come from a good place as she is insecure, has low self-esteem and tries too hard. I like it when Kerry messes up because nobody is perfect. Even when she does make a mistake, people can see that she's got a good heart.
"I don't want Kerry to keep making terrible decisions and hurt people, but I think part of the fun of the character is exploring her depths. She's so layered and she has a horrific past, so it'd be good to explore that and maybe find out a bit more about why she is the way she is."
Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt fears that her wedding dream is over as Dan Spencer leaves her waiting at the church in tonight's hour-long episode (July 22).
Kerry is desperate to marry Dan, but he is unsure whether to go ahead with the ceremony after spotting his brother Daz kissing his bride-to-be.
As her big day dawns, Kerry visits Dan (Liam Fox) and protests her innocence over the kiss, urging him to believe how much she loves him.
After getting ready for the ceremony, Kerry heads to the church but ends up fearing the worst when Dan is nowhere to be seen. Has she been jilted or will the wedding go ahead?

Emmerdale spoilers: Shock accident in store as Kerry Wyatt loses her sight
Kerry's poor lifestyle comes back to haunt her next week.
By Daniel Kilkelly, Digital Spy
10 November 2015
Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt will get a huge wake-up call next week as she suddenly loses sight in one of her eyes.
The fun-loving character is left terrified as she finds herself struggling to see while riding a tandem bike through the village.
Kerry heads off for a ride with Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) in a desperate bid to prove her partner Dan Spencer wrong after they argue bitterly over her lifestyle.
Viewers have recently seen Kerry vow to be much healthier for the sake of her diabetes, but there's trouble in store next week when Dan (Liam Fox) discovers that she has secretly slipped back into her old habits.
Laura Norton, who plays Kerry, revealed: "She gets a bee in her bonnet and she wants to prove everybody wrong. Kerry gets in a bit of a huff and she decides that she needs to start exercising. She ropes Bernice into it, as she always does.
"Kerry and Bernice are both on the tandem going down Main Street, but half-way down Kerry's vision in her right eye completely goes. Since they're on a tandem, it's not a good outcome!"
Kerry and Bernice go careering into the side of the local church, but it takes a while for shocked onlookers to realise just how serious the situation is.

Norton continued: "Kerry is like the boy who tried wolf, so everyone is more concerned about Bernice. Nobody is really listening to Kerry, until she screams at them and asks them to ring an ambulance because she's lost her sight.
"It'd be a terrifying experience if you think about it - just to completely have darkness in one eye when there's been no warning signs, so she's very scared."
At the hospital, Kerry is told that she has diabetic retinopathy and the blindness is down to her poor diet and lifestyle. She's shocked to learn that she needs an operation, which could be the push she needs to look after herself more.

Amelia tests Kerry's blood pressure and tells her she is in the danger zone for a diabetic
"Kerry is really scared because she doesn't understand what it means," Norton explained. "When she pushes the doctor, he warns that she will lose her sight if she doesn't change her lifestyle dramatically, and it could happen to the other eye as well. It's a terrifying prospect and the best wake-up call she could have had, really.
"Hopefully Kerry will realise that she's not going to be able to drink, smoke or eat rubbish. That's all she's been used to for a number of years, so that's going to have a big impact on her.
"It's such a shame that it's taken this to make Kerry realise what's important to her. She's just lived so hard and always wanted to party, being that young girl for such a long time. This makes her realise that she's actually got a lot in her life that she needs to be careful for."
Certain aspects of the storyline are close to home for many of the team on Emmerdale, as their late co-star Kitty McGeever - who played the role of Lizzie Lakely - also had diabetic retinopathy for many years.
The popular star, who was the first blind actress to have a main role on a UK soap, passed away in August. She had been awaiting a kidney transplant when she died.
Norton said: "Obviously there's the sad story of Kitty, so I know a lot from members of the cast. I've spoken to them about it and I've done a bit of research on people with diabetes too.
"I've got a cousin with diabetes so I know what impact it can have on your lifestyle. You can't be the same as other people, as you can't indulge in things that are bad for you."
Emmerdale airs Kerry's dramatic tandem crash on Thursday, November 19 at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.

Kerry in Emmerdale was recently diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy. Even with treatment and adoption of a more healthy lifestyle, the illness can still lead to blindness.
A recent BBC news article talked about the real life experiences of living with this illness by sufferer Leonie Watson.
'I went blind and feel partly to blame'
bbc.co.uk
26 November 2015
Leonie Watson said:
"
One morning in October 1999 I woke up with a hangover. As I looked in the mirror I realised I could see a ribbon of blood in my line of sight. As I looked left then right, the ribbon moved sluggishly as though floating in dense liquid. Assuming it was a temporary result of the previous night's antics, I left it a couple of days before visiting an optician to get it checked. When I did the optician took one look at the backs of my eyes and referred me to the nearest eye hospital for further investigation.
When diabetes is uncontrolled for a time it causes a lot of unseen damage. When you eat something your blood sugar levels rise and your body produces insulin to convert that glucose into usable energy. If there isn't enough available insulin then the cells in your body are starved of energy, they begin to die and the excess glucose remains trapped in your bloodstream.
As if that wasn't enough, the glucose will then smother your red blood cells and prevent them from transporting oxygen efficiently around your body.
One of the ways this damage eventually manifests itself is diabetic retinopathy. In an attempt to get enough oxygen to the retina at the back of your eye, your body creates new blood vessels to try and compensate. The new blood vessels are created as an emergency measure and so they're weak. This means they're prone to bursting and haemorrhaging blood into the eye - creating visible ribbons of blood like the one I could see.
This all has the inevitable effect of damaging your sight.
The people at the eye hospital told me laser treatment might halt the breakdown of the blood vessels at the back of my eye and enable the remaining vessels to strengthen enough to get the oxygen to where it should go.
It wasn't pleasant. It requires an anaesthetic injection into the eye before a laser is repeatedly fired at the back. I remember one round of treatment skewing the sight in one eye by about 90 degrees - trust me when I tell you it's impossible to remain upright in that state.
Looking back, I realise that laser treatment was a futile gesture. No-one ever came straight out and told me the consequences of having advanced diabetic retinopathy, it was always spoken of in terms of a progressive deterioration.
Only 3% of blind people are completely blind. Most have some degree of light perception or a little usable vision, but I'm one of the few who can see nothing at all, and nothing is the best way to describe it. People assume it must be like closing your eyes or being in a dark room, but it's not like that at all. It's a complete absence of light, it isn't black or any other colour I can describe.

NHS choices says:
What is diabetes?
- Diabetes causes a person's blood sugar level to become too high.
- There are two main types - type 1 and type 2.
- In type 1 diabetes the body's immune system attacks and destroys the cells that produce insulin. This causes glucose levels to increase, which can seriously damage the body's organs.
-Type 2 diabetes is where the body doesn't produce enough insulin, or the body's cells don't react to insulin. It may be controlled by eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and monitoring your blood glucose levels.
To reduce your risk of developing retinopathy, it's important to control your blood sugar level, blood pressure and cholesterol level. Good control will prevent diabetic complications in almost everyone, according to the NHS. Other advice includes:
- Attend annual screening appointments.
- Inform your GP immediately if you notice any changes to your vision.
- Take medication as prescribed.
- Lose weight (if you're overweight) and eating a healthy, balanced diet.
- Exercise regularly.
- Give up smoking.

Kerry Wyatt and Dan Spencer are left red-faced in next week’s Emmerdale when their kinky bedroom antics are made public.
The loved up couple enjoy an evening of x-rated role play which they film for their pleasure later on, neither expecting the video to see the light of day.
But that’s exactly what happens when Gabby discovers the video. A horrified Bernice discovers the sex video and tells Gabby to delete it, however, the school girl shares it instead!
It’s not long before Dan and Kerry are bombarded with funny comments and looks until Moira Dingle finally tells Kerry there's a video of them both online.
Kerry's shocked to discover it was Gabby who put the video online and she's angry with her meaningless apology.
Despite Dan’s reluctance Kerry convinces him to watch the sex tape and is impressed with herself and soon decides she doesn't want it taking down after all!
Meanwhile, it seems Gabby is turning into a little madam when she gets annoyed after Bernice refuses to do her eyebrows.
She later tells Lachlan of her plan to draw on a “Scouse brow” with marker pen and he tries to keep a straight face as she starts.
Bernice is furious as she sees Gabby’s eyebrows and tells her she’s not going on the ski trip and despairs as Gabby storms out.
Ashley offers to take Gabby off Bernice’s hands for a few days in order to relieve some of the tension between the pair, but is this only the start of Gabby’s bad behaviour?

Emmerdale star Laura Norton has warned that there's big trouble coming up for Kerry Wyatt and Dan Spencer's relationship.
The popular couple are known for their comedy scenes, but it seems that we can expect a major shift in tone when a new storyline begins in a few weeks' time.
"There's some stuff coming up for Kerry that I can't talk about yet, but it's going to be very interesting for the viewers," Norton told Inside Soap.
"There have been a lot of light-hearted plots for Kerry and Dan, but things are going to be a bit darker and we'll be exploring a different side to Kerry."

She continued: "I do believe that Kerry and Dan are made for each other, but I'm not sure what's on the cards for them.
"There's going to be a bit of a bomb going off in their relationship. I don't quite know where they'll end up after that happens, so watch this space!"
There could still be some laughs on the way, though, as Norton also told fans to watch out for her outfit in an upcoming Emmerdale wedding episode.

She laughed: "There's a wedding coming up and I look horrendous! I walked out on set and everyone looked at me and went, 'Oh my God, what are you wearing?'
"Just you wait - it's very special! I don't mind, though. I get to dress up and to be someone completely different from me in both personality and looks. The more ridiculous for me, the better - I wouldn't change my character for the world."

Emmerdale spoilers: Truth revealed? Dan Spencer confronts Kerry Wyatt at the clinic
Has Dan Spencer discovered the shocking truth about Kerry Wyatt’s pregnancy and infidelity in Emmerdale? As he follows her to the clinic where she is heading to have a termination, she has some questions to answer as Dan demands the truth.
Kerry’s secretive behaviour has been troubling Dan and he is miffed when she takes little interest in planning the wedding, little knowing what is playing on her mind.
When Kerry’s camper van won’t start, Kerry calls Dan and Kerry is forced to borrow a car from the garage to head to the clinic when Dan cuts the call.
Outside the clinic, Kerry parks on double yellow lines outside the clinic and dashes in just as a parking attendant appears on the scene.
As Kerry parks on double yellow lines and dashes to the clinic, Ross discovers that the missing car from the garage has been spotted, little knowing that it was Kerry who took it.
As Dan and Ross arrive on the scene to find the car being towed, Kerry is inside taking the pill. As she comes out, a confused Dan confronts her and Kerry is unsure what to say.
Telling her it’s time to come clean, will Dan discover that Kerry slept with Ross and is now pregnant with his baby?
And, if so, can he ever forgive her?

I'm not sure. It sounds like she does go through with the termination though. "Kerry is inside taking the pill".
Fire horror! Whose life is in danger as Kerry Wyatt commits arson?
Things are about to heat up for Kerry Wyatt in the new year in Emmerdale when some rash and irresponsible actions lead to Zak Dingle’s life ending up on the line. Recently, Kerry’s reckless behaviour has led her to upset several villagers but as 2017 dawns, she goes a step too far when she torches Cain’s caravan.
And as she starts the fire, she is unaware of the possibility that Zak may be sleeping inside. So will he emerge unscathed from the blaze or will Kerry end up with a death on her conscience?
An Emmerdale statement read: ‘Kerry finds herself in hot water this New Year when she sets Cain Dingle’s caravan alight, unaware a drowsy Zak could still be inside.
Kerry has pushed her luck too far once again, but could she end up losing grandson Kyle over this – or will ex-flame Dan come to her rescue?’
It’s certainly not a great start to the year for Kerry – perhaps her resolution should be to think before she acts…

Never liked Kerry, the actress is terrible. So I hope her and Amy end up in Prison for manslaughter.
Emmerdale star Laura Norton has revealed that Kerry Wyatt will try to strike a bargain with Nate Robinson after discovering his big secret.
Upcoming episodes see Kerry left horrified when her daughter Amy confides in Nate with the true story behind the recent factory fire and Frank Clayton's death.
Kerry's fears lead to her heading to Nate's caravan, where she spots him in a compromising position with Moira Dingle.
With her head spinning, Kerry soon realises she can use this discovery as leverage by blackmailing Nate.
Speaking about the drama ahead, Laura explained: "Kerry promises Amy that she'll leave it alone and won't confront Nate, but it's niggling away at her. She goes to see him to bargain with him.
"Kerry wants to tell Nate that he can't say anything, but she doesn't get to have that conversation, because she gets to the caravan and sees Nate and Moira together. She's shocked!
"Afterwards, Kerry tries to take the situation into her own hands and does what she does best. She thinks she can fix everything, so she wades in and sees the opportunity.
"Kerry is annoyed with Nate, but she thinks she can blackmail him. He has information on them but she now has information on him, so if he dares use anything, she will do the same."
Promising an interesting dynamic in the all-important conversation, Laura continued: "Kerry and Nate try to reason with each other. They have a conversation and it doesn't go the way she'd hoped.
"Kerry tells Nate that she saw him with Moira. Basically, that's her bargaining tool.
"They're really nice scenes. On paper, they could have gone one of two ways. They could have been really shouty, but we played it really genuine and serious. They have a problem and they need to work out how they're going to fix it.
"Kerry just wants Nate to end it with Amy and she'll keep her mouth shut. He'll also keep his mouth shut about the fire.
"It's so bittersweet because it's solving all of her concerns, but at the same time, it's horrible for her to know that she's the one who is directly hurting her own daughter. She knows how it's going to hurt Amy when Nate dumps her."

Emmerdale's Kerry Wyatt is going to be back on our screens soon, having vanished from our screens without an exit story, just an explanation that she was away seeing a friend and trying to get some perspective on her life.
In reality, actress Laura Norton had a baby in the middle of a pandemic, but now she's filmed her return scenes and giving fans the lowdown on how Kerry is coming back.
"(Kerry has) got a job as a cleaner/dogsbody for a family in a multimillion-pound mansion," she told The Mirror. "She forms a bond with her employer's daughter but, while the daughter, Chloe, is lovely, she realises that the father is dodgy.
"It's really dark stuff and she starts to try to come up with ways to get away. There are a few interwoven storylines.
"This girl's sister was an organ donor for Sarah Sugden. And then Charity Dingle turns up at the house to try to rob it. She sees Kerry there and says, 'What the hell are you doing here?' Kerry forces Charity to hand over what she's taken, but then Kerry gets a message from Chloe's dad saying that one of his watches is missing."
Chloe was introduced to the soap as the sister of Sarah Sugden's donor Gemma, and has been involved in storylines involving Sarah and Noah Dingle.
As Laura mentioned, Kerry is going to mixed up in an upcoming storyline in which Charity and Mackenzie Boyd target Chloe in order to get money out of her. Will this alienate Charity from her family?

Sick to death of Chas, who I used to like, blaming anyone and everyone for what's happened, and completely disregarding her own contributions. In a way I hope she leaves Emmerdale with odious Al.
amy has a sister who was with kyle's "relatives" mack noah and nate

Emmerdale has confirmed that Kerry Wyatt will return to the village next week.
Kerry's loved ones are in for a shock as she reappears with a police escort after getting herself in trouble yet again.
Emmerdale aired an exit storyline for Kerry in November 2022 as she bowed out from the Dales to go and work on a friend's cruise ship.
Kerry's departure came shortly after she'd discovered that her late partner Al Chapman had been cheating on her in the months leading up to his fatal shooting.
Next week, Kerry's daughter Amy sets a date for her wedding to boyfriend Matty Barton.
The couple are then left stunned when PC Swirling arrives to drop off Kerry, who is dressed up as Cher following her work as an impersonator on the ship.
Swirling leaves Kerry to share the story of how her fianc? has falsely accused her of stealing.
Amy isn't impressed that Kerry is caught up in chaos as usual, so there's a heated argument between mother and daughter.
Keen to get back on track, Kerry protests that she didn't commit the theft and is back to be a good mother to her family. Can Kerry keep her promise?
In real life, Laura Norton has reprised the role of Kerry after taking maternity leave. Laura and her partner Mark Jordon welcomed their second child together, a daughter called Ronnie, in October 2022.
Speaking about her return, Laura told Digital Spy: "It feels amazing to be back. They've eased me back in very gently. I don't know if it was deliberate, but I've had one day a week, then two days a week, then three. So I feel like they've given me a nice opportunity to settle in.
"I had my first couple of days where I was constantly checking my phone just to see how the kids are and if they've had a nap. I'm starting slowly to just go: 'Everything's fine'. I've come home and they're very happy and very well rested and well fed.
"Now I can just be present and do a good job ? that's where I'm up to now."
She added: "Every department made it very easy for me ? the script, the story, the writing and then the costume. As soon as you put Kerry's clothes on, it's just like: 'Ah, there she is'.
"I've had a long time off work. I was worried that I couldn't do it anymore. You start going: 'Can I walk and talk at the same time? Can I still act?'
"But I felt very blessed when I opened the script and realised how Kerry was coming back and it did make it very easy. The lines are brilliant and the costumes are ridiculously horrendous."
