a whole new set of story lines can emerge now if it is Gennie.

Nikhil's OCD worsens. He is unable to hold the baby let alone deal with a nappy change due to germs. Hand washing til they bleed.....

Emmerdale's Zak Dingle will try to move on from his recent troubles too soon by returning home to his family, reports have revealed.

Zak (Steve Halliwell) was recently sectioned after suffering a mental breakdown, but episodes airing early next month see him beg the doctors to let him go.

Although Zak has been making progress, there is some debate over whether he's well enough to re-join his family back at the cottage. In the end, though, he is discharged and Lisa arrives to collect him from the hospital.

Magazine reports say that Zak's ordeal isn't over yet, however, as he is soon faced with two loan sharks who are chasing up a debt that he owes.

Zak's financial troubles soon take their toll on him, which culminates in more erratic behaviour when he tries to flee from a taxi because he can't pay the fare.

Soon afterwards, Zak admits himself back into hospital after realising that he isn't yet ready for life back in the village. How will Zak's family deal with his sad struggle?

Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, June 4 on ITV1.

So yet another soap storyline involving Debt Collectors and Loan Sharks. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't this happening on Corrie. Good job there is no canal or tram near Emmerdale!!!!!! Still I suppose Miss Piggy can flounce up from Albert Square when she leaves. She could be someone's long lost daughter who has been living in hotten this past thirty years just waiting to return. St. Ella's accent is crap in Corrie but I could not imagine a one trick pony like Ms Dean doing anything else

Coming up in Emmerdale, Gennie Walker's life is turned upside down when she discovers that she is expecting a baby.

The story begins when Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) starts snapping at Nikhil more than usual and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) can sense that something is wrong. A curious Chas then follows her into The Woolpack's toilets, where Gennie confides that there is a possibility she could be pregnant.

Chas urges Gennie to find out either way by taking a pregnancy test, so they both head over to Victoria Cottage together.

Later, Gennie gets upset as she works her way through a number of positive pregnancy tests. Chas tries to calm her down, but Gennie explains that Nikhil doesn't want children and she doesn't know how she is going to tell him.

A subsequent trip to the hospital reveals that Gennie is actually 18 weeks pregnant. Although it's joyous news, Gennie still can't bring herself to tell Nikhil the truth…

Monday

Alicia arranges to meet Justin in The Woolpack at the Jubilee party. She is disappointed when he arrives with Talia, but pulls Justin to one side and tells him that she hit Val and she could be sent to prison. Justin is hurt when she explains that she thinks Jacob will be better off living with David. When David interrupts, Justin tells him that he isn't having his son. David is shocked, realising what Alicia has suggested.

As an argument breaks out, Justin insists that Alicia should tell Jacob she could be going to prison. Justin tells Alicia that she is selfish and makes to leave, but Alicia warns him not to fight her for Jacob. When Justin throws it back in her face that Jacob isn't her biological son, Alicia is devastated and David attempts to comfort her.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Zak tells Doctor Makin and Trevor that Cain's visit has made him realise that his family need him and he needs to fix the mistakes he's made. Zak then assures the medics that he is ready to return home. Doctor Makin believes it's too early, but Zak is determined and begs them to give him the chance to try.

Later, Lisa is overwhelmed as she receives a call to say that Zak is coming home. Lisa quietly asks Cain if this is down to him, but he assures her that he thinks Zak shouldn't be released…

Elsewhere, Laurel asks Nicola to have a word with Declan about her overdue rent.

Tuesday

Zak tells Lisa it's good to see her as she collects him from the hospital. They drive home, but Zak notices she is taking all the back roads. Lisa admits that she thought Zak would prefer not to face people quite yet. Zak realises it's Lisa who isn't ready to face people, but agrees she is right. Back at home, Lisa encourages Zak to think about the future as Belle arrives home early, excited to see her dad. Zak jokes around with Belle and Lisa admits that Belle always had faith he would get better.

Later, Charity arrives and a cheerful Zak asks about Jai. Lisa is touched by the effort Zak is making. However, when Lisa attempts to get close to Zak, he makes an excuse and heads outside troubled. Coming to a decision, Zak throws his medication into the bin…

Meanwhile, David pesters Alicia to break the news to Jacob. Alicia promises she will that night, but Amelia beats her to it, blurting out to Jacob that Alicia is going to prison. At The Woolpack, Ali tells Alicia that Jacob now knows the truth, but pins the blame on Val, explaining that she's the one who has been telling everyone.

Later, David advises Alicia to see another solicitor to win custody of Jacob. Soon afterwards, Alicia confronts Val about spreading prison rumours, but Val warns that she will call the police if Alicia hits her again. Val then walks through to the bar, announcing that Alicia is a menace. Towards the end of the day, Alicia is heartbroken when she tells David that the solicitor thinks the court will rule in Justin's favour. Alicia realises she has to talk to Jacob, worrying he is going to hate her.

Elsewhere, Jai realises that Charity never wanted another child and is annoyed that she got his hopes up, while Chas isn't happy when Cameron agrees to go to Paris with Sarah and Debbie, but Cameron reminds her she pushed for this to happen.

Wednesday

Nikhil senses there is something wrong when Gennie snaps at him at the factory, but he decides to keep quiet as he never says anything right. Later at The Woolpack, Gennie snaps at Nikhil again for putting his foot in it with Zak. Chas then follows Gennie into the toilets, realising that something is wrong. Gennie confides that there is a possibility she could be pregnant, so Chas advises her to go and do a test.

In Victoria Cottage, Gennie gets upset as she works her way through a number of positive pregnancy tests. Chas tries to calm her down, but Gennie explains that Nikhil doesn't want children and she doesn't know how she is going to tell him...

Meanwhile, Zak, Lisa and Belle arrive at Sarah's birthday party. Zak attempts to pretend that everything is fine, but is saddened when Cain ignores his request for a beer. Later in The Woolpack, Zak freezes when he sees two men who had previously been in the pub looking for him. One of the men warns Zak that they will see him later, and Zak is left anxious.

Soon afterwards, Zak covers by telling Lisa that he needs fresh air and leaves. Lisa is worried and begins to look for Zak when she realises that he isn't outside. At the same time, Zak is frightened when he arrives home to find the two men waiting for him. They take all the cash from the Dingle pot and Zak is left humiliated and scared.

Elsewhere, Nikhil is not happy when Charity hires Rachel as a cleaner, while Cameron tells Andy that he should be the one going to Paris, leaving Sarah delighted but Debbie annoyed.

Thursday

Lisa is frantic as she continues to look for Zak. Lisa and Lizzie then arrive at the Dingle cottage to find the front door open and the discarded money pot. Realising it's empty, Lisa automatically thinks Zak has made off with the cash. At the same time, Zak is in a bad way as he walks away from the village and flags down a cab.

Later, Lisa is frantic when the others arrive and cannot contain her concern, blaming herself for letting Zak come home so soon. Soon afterwards, Zak's taxi pulls up outside the hospital but he cannot pay the fare. He tries to get out, but the driver locks the doors. Zak makes to grab him, but is blocked by the screen separating them. Zak panics and begins to kick the door, shouting to the driver that there is no money. The driver then phones the police.

Meanwhile, Gennie panics as she tells Chas that she is bleeding. At the hospital, Gennie shares her symptoms, but the doctor says she has nothing to worry about and confirms her pregnancy. Gennie is completely shocked as the doctor declares she is 18 weeks pregnant and gives her a picture of the scan to take away.

Elsewhere, Cameron and Chas plan to go away together while Debbie is in Paris, Brenda and Pollard return from their holiday and Val isn't pleased with their new work schedule, while Ashley tells Rodney he has booked an appointment at the job centre the following day.

The police take Zak into the hospital, where Doctor Makin notes that he hasn't been taking his medication. When Zak starts rambling about his money being stolen and that there is more buried in the garden, Doctor Makin realises Zak is in a bad way. He phones Lisa, saying that Zak has re-admitted himself and she can see him in the morning. Lisa is devastated that Zak has gone back a stage and feels as though she has let him down for thinking everything was getting better.

In the psychiatric unit, Trevor tries to make sense of what went wrong with Zak, who feels he has let his family down and is scared of what the loan sharks will do. Trevor tells Zak that Lisa knows where he is, leaving him wracked with guilt.

Meanwhile, during the party at Home Farm, Robbie turns up and Megan is shocked when she discovers that Declan has been in contact with him. She tells Robbie to leave, but Declan disagrees, inviting him to stay the night. Declan has a word with Robbie about the loan and Robbie says that his flat fell through.

Carl soon clocks Robbie at the party, but keeps his suspicions to himself. Megan is annoyed that Robbie has turned up, but Carl tells her to get a grip and maybe give it a try. Megan admits she is worried she may end up hating Robbie, but Carl suggests she is actually scared of Robbie hating her.

Elsewhere, Gennie tries to speak to Brenda but she rushes off with Pollard, while Ashley is embarrassed when his bank card is declined as he pays his bill at the B&B.

Friday

Ashley is awkward as Brenda asks if he will be staying the night at the B&B. He admits that he hasn't been paid yet so isn't sure. Later, Ashley has a meeting at the job centre, where the advisor asks about his previous job. Ashley explains that he resigned from his parish, but the advisor states that the computer says something different. Ashley can't believe his short time at the burger bar counts as his last job, but the advisor demands to know why he was sacked.

The advisor then tells Ashley that he is entitled to claim benefits, but the circumstances around his sacking will be investigated. Ashley hears that he will receive his money in the next 14 days, but he is desperate - needing cash immediately as he has nothing. Back in the village, Ashley plays down his money troubles to Laurel, telling her that he has job interviews lined up. Towards the end of the day, Ashley slips into the church unnoticed, homeless and broke…

Meanwhile, Robbie arrives at Home Farm and Declan encourages Megan to take him out. Megan is troubled, but reluctantly agrees before heading out to a meeting. Robbie then tells Declan that he will only be staying for a few days, but Declan encourages Robbie to stay longer and really get to know Megan. Megan listens to their conversation out of sight, troubled by what she has heard.

When Megan finally makes a show of returning home, Declan is irritated that she wasn't back sooner. Declan heads out while Megan asks Robbie to stay and talk. Megan starts by asking about Robbie's family life, before making him aware that she would like to make up for everything she missed out on when he was growing up.

Elsewhere, Gennie tells Chas that she hasn't yet informed Nikhil she is pregnant, while Chas is sickened watching Debbie and Cameron say their goodbyes.
