so ashley's new job didn't last long oh well it was good to have a laugh
Do you want to go large and would you like a prayer with that
so Alicia to prison for 6 months - and david to take care of Jacob - thus meaning the two of them admit their feelings for each other before she is sent down?

Wouldnt Jake's dad or Leyla take him instead of David?
Wouldnt Jake's dad or Leyla take him instead of David?
maybe - but we are also about to hear that Justin is going to get married shortly?
who knows they could explain him not taking Jacob as he is moving away after marriage - new wife says no?
just speculating as Natalie A says her exit involves big stuff with David?
Coming up in Emmerdale, Alicia Gallagher lashes out at Val Pollard in a moment of anger she may live to regret.
The incident occurs when an emotional Val (Charlie Hardwick) heads into the back of The Woolpack with a bottle of wine, upset after Eric has chosen Brenda over her.
Alicia (Natalie Anderson) is also at the pub and she is working her way up to telling David that she has feelings for him. However, a bitter Val becomes spiteful by describing David as "brainless, spineless and totally pathetic".
Val's words infuriate Alicia, who snaps and hits her in the face - causing a nose bleed.
Refusing to take this lightly, Val immediately phones the police and officers then arrive to take a devastated Alicia away.
As Alicia has a previous conviction for assaulting one of her mum's carers, she soon faces the horrifying realisation that she could be heading to prison…

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, May 28 at 7pm on ITV1.
Monday
Brenda is excited when Pollard tells her they are going on holiday to Cornwall today. However, Val is seething as she is being left to run things on her own. Amy helps out by offering to miss out on the holiday and keep an eye on things at the B&B. Val is close to tears as she tells Amy that she messed up and she loves Pollard. When Amy shows no sympathy for her, Val heads into the back of The Woolpack with a bottle of wine.
At the same time, Alicia is working her way up to telling David that she has feelings for him, but Val gets nasty by describing David as "brainless, spineless and totally pathetic". Alicia snaps by hitting Val in the face, causing a nose bleed. Val doesn't take this lightly and immediately phones the police. As the officers take a devastated Alicia away, she shouts to David not to tell Jacob what has happened…
Meanwhile, in the café, Ashley is dressed in a suit ready for his first day at work at the burger bar, having lied to everyone that he has a 'managerial role in catering'. Soon afterwards, Laurel arrives and explains her concerns to Ashley that the rent urgently needs paying. At work later, Ashley is shown the ropes by Gareth but barely holds it together when his request for an advance on his wages is laughed off. At the end of the day, Ashley heads to Mulberry Cottage and hands Laurel money for the rent, lying that he got a sub on his wages.
Elsewhere, Cameron feels guilty when Debbie thanks him for taking up extra shifts in the pub to buy Sarah a birthday present.
Tuesday
In the court interview room, Alicia is terrified at the thought of the judge looking at her file. Over at the shop, David is dressed for court but is annoyed at Amy for allowing Jacob the day off school. He agrees to Amy and Victoria looking after the youngster, but this doesn't go down well with Val. David explains that Jacob is worried about his mum, but Val is unsympathetic, arguing that Alicia should have thought about him before punching her.
Later, outside the court, Alicia is forced to admit that she has a previous conviction for assaulting one of her mum's carers. David tries to console her, but the solicitor suggests it could be bad news - Alicia could be sent to prison…
Meanwhile, at the burger bar, Oli is surprised when Ashley reluctantly tells him that he is an ex-vicar. Ashley is hurt when Oli immediately tells Gareth and both mock him. Later, Ashley tells Rodney that he gave away some leftover bread rolls to homeless people on his way home. Rodney is encouraging, but suggests that Ashley should keep a window open while at work as he smells of fried food.
Elsewhere, Chas and Cameron are almost caught by Debbie in The Woolpack's toilets, while Hannah knows that Holly has a secret job interview for a trainee designer position.
Wednesday
David suggests that Alicia should apologise to Val in the hope that she will drop the charges. Later in The Woolpack, Val is surprised that Alicia still has her bar job, giving Chas an ultimatum that one of them has to leave. Chas shrugs her off as Alicia asks Val for a quiet word. Val realises that Alicia intends to apologise and enjoys making it even harder. Alicia swallows her pride and begins to apologise, but Val is smug and the pair end up rowing as Chas and Amy try to calm the situation. Val has the final say and Alicia realises she has made everything worse.
Soon afterwards, Alicia despairs as she tells David what happened. David comforts her, explaining that she must be straight with Jacob about the probability of going to prison before he hears it from someone else. However, Alicia refuses as it will break her son's heart.
Meanwhile, Rodney receives a phone call and leaves Ashley - who has the day off - alone with ill Angelica. However, Nicola returns and is horrified to see that Ashley has been left alone with Angelica. Later in The Woolpack, Jimmy supports Nicola as Rodney tries to defend Ashley. Nicola declares that Angelica will not be going to Rodney's house again while Ashley is living there. Later, Rodney is awkward as he broaches the idea of Ashley moving out, but before he has a chance to say more, Ashley offers to leave and heads over to the B&B.
Elsewhere, Paddy touches a nerve with Marlon by suggesting that he still has feelings for Laurel, Holly returns from the interview with the news that she got the job but must decide whether to accept it, while Laurel tells Ashley that Gabby isn't ready to see him yet.
Thursday (1)
At the B&B, Val is hostile towards Ashley until he highlights the fact he is a paying customer and she changes her tune. When Rodney informs Laurel about Ashley moving to the B&B, she worries about the cost - but Nicola tells her that it's not her problem.
Later, Alex and Victoria are shocked to see Ashley working at the burger bar. Ashley is gutted and pleads with them to keep it a secret. Soon afterwards, Oli spots Ashley putting burger buns in his locker.
Meanwhile, Lisa feels helpless as the psychiatric hospital is not giving enough updates on Zak. Later, Lisa is suspicious of two unfamiliar men in The Woolpack who are waiting for Zak. Cain explains that they think Zak will arrive shortly. Lisa worries about who they might be and how Zak knows them.
Elsewhere, Chas suggests that she could buy the tickets to Paris for Sarah's birthday, Hannah is stressed as it's the day of her first A-Level exam, Holly feels guilty over the thought of leaving the farm, while Amy gives Val an ultimatum - ordering her to drop the charges against Alicia or she will never have a chance with her and Pollard again.
Thursday (2)
Victoria and Alex delight in telling Laurel that Ashley is working in a burger bar. Deciding to confront him, Laurel arrives at the restaurant just in time to see Gareth laying into Ashley for stealing burger buns before sacking him on the spot. Later in The Woolpack's kitchen, Laurel confides in Marlon about what she has seen. Marlon comforts her and tries to see the good in what Ashley has done by highlighting his consistency with helping the homeless.
Soon afterwards, things get heated when Alex mocks Ashley over his job and goads him towards a fight. Laurel then appears and sides with Alex rather than Ashley. Ashley is saddened to see that Laurel has confided in Marlon. At the same time, Laurel cannot forgive Ashley for getting fired for helping the homeless when she thinks his family is just as much in need.
Meanwhile, Lisa approaches the two men who have been asking about Zak. One of the men tells her to get Zak to call him so they can complete some business. However, Lisa is concerned as Zak hasn't mentioned any business. She explains that Zak is in hospital, so they tell her to give him their regards before leaving. Cain reluctantly goes after the pair, but fails to catch up with them. Soon afterwards, Cain refuses to visit Zak in hospital but feels guilty as Debbie pleads with him to change his mind.
Elsewhere, Zak opens up to Trevor about what he did to Cain, while Alicia is delighted when Val agrees to drop the charges against her.
Friday
Debbie is annoyed with Cain for refusing to see Zak and tells Cameron that she will visit him instead. Cameron is thrown by this and tells Cain, who warns Debbie about the state Zak had been in while on the moors. When Cain realises that Debbie isn't going to back down, he reluctantly agrees to be the one who visits.
Later, at the psychiatric unit, Trevor tells Zak that he has a visitor and Zak is shocked to hear it's Cain. As they come face-to-face again, Zak is weary as he asks what Cain wants. Cain tries to explain what this is doing to his family, but Zak doesn't respond and Cain becomes frustrated, losing his temper and shouting at his dad. Zak is tearful as he leaves the room and Cain watches in disbelief.
Meanwhile, Val confesses to Amy that she is putting off withdrawing the charges as she is worried she will be in trouble for wasting police time. Amy offers to accompany her to the police station and Val agrees, pleased that they are making progress. Later, however, Val breaks the news to Alicia that it's too late to drop the charges as Alicia has already pleaded guilty. Val feels guilty, but struggles to hold her temper when Alicia shouts at her for not trying hard enough. Soon afterwards, Alicia agrees with David when he says that she'll have to speak to Justin about this.
Elsewhere, Jai is excited about Noah's name change and the possibility of another baby, while Laurel tells Ashley that the cheque for Sandy's care has bounced.
