He will, of course, also land himself in it if he does that.

I'd be more scared of Shirley than beetroot head, so if I was Jay, I'd 'fess up' asap.....

Maybe Carol can stay at Ray's? So the children can stay in the square?

EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell becomes determined to flee Albert Square next month.

Phil (Steve McFadden) finally gets some good news in the coming days when Ben's charges for perverting the course of justice are dropped - but his good mood doesn't last for long.

Just as the Mitchells are planning a celebration, Phil is surprised to receive a visit from DCI Marsden. He's initially smug with his nemesis as she no longer has anything on him, but Marsden turns the tables by putting the frighteners on Phil.

Marsden vows that she'll be ready and waiting to pull the Mitchells apart as soon as they make a mistake, leaving Phil worrying that she could eventually discover that Ben (Joshua Pascoe) killed Heather Trott.

Rattled by Marsden's words, a desperate Phil tries to persuade reluctant Ben and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) to visit Grant with him. Will the Mitchells take time out from the Square?

Monday

Whitney, Lauren and Lucy decide to go on a boozy night out together to take their minds off their recent troubles. However, they lie to their loved ones about where they are going. Whitney is still concerned following her pregnancy scare, telling Tyler that his negative reaction showed that he doesn't see himself having a future with her. Tyler protests that he isn't the type of guy to run away when things get difficult, but Whitney insists they should have some time apart. Later, though, Whitney changes her mind about the night out and goes after Tyler instead. She spots the baby grow in his bag and is thrilled to realise that Tyler would have supported her after all.

At the same time, Lauren and Lucy head out together as planned and continue bonding as friends. When a drunken Lauren falls over, she's helped up by a stranger who asks her to attend a club opening with him. Lucy is horrified to see Lauren getting into a car with the man, so she takes action by dragging Lauren out of the vehicle. Lauren's bag is left behind and she's furious, accusing Lucy of being jealous. Lucy tries to hail a cab and head back home following the row, but she soon has a change of heart and goes to find Lauren, who has wandered off. She's then horrified to discover Lauren lying unconscious in an alley - completely unresponsive…

Meanwhile, Mandy receives a phone call from the hospital as Lorraine has asked her to bring in a clean nightie, but Mandy insists that she doesn't care and hangs up. Later, Mandy wants to go upstairs with Ian, but he seems reluctant. Mandy pushes the issue by telling Ian that she needs him to make her feel beautiful, but she storms off to bed alone when he doesn't respond.

Elsewhere, Derek fails to convince Carol and the kids to stay in Walford, Fatboy is unhappy when Nico orders him to take on the late shift at McKlunkys, while Zainab encourages Afia and Tamwar to spend some time together by coming up with a new business strategy for the restaurant.

Tuesday

Lauren wakes up in hospital with little memory of the night before. The troubled teenager leaves at the first possible opportunity, which results in Lucy missing Lauren when she comes looking for her. Soon afterwards, Lucy turns up at the Branning house to see if Lauren has arrived back yet. She's reluctant to disclose what went on last night, but quickly reveals all when she sees how distressed Tanya is. As an argument follows, Lauren finally returns home and is shocked to find that Lucy has betrayed her. However, she becomes startled when she hears exactly what happened last night, as she has no recollection of being in a stranger's car.

With the arguments continuing, there's suddenly a knock on the door and it turns out to be Dan - the stranger from last night - who is returning Lauren's bag. Wanting to get away from the tension, Lauren rushes out of the door with Dan and gets into his car. When they go to the park together, Dan gives Lauren a drink and makes a move on her. Rejecting his advances, Lauren rushes off and realises that she owes Lucy an apology. However, when Lucy sees that Lauren has been drinking again, she rejects her olive branch and slams the door in her face.

Meanwhile, Afia becomes envious when she finds out that an old friend from school has been named Young Entrepreneur of the Year. She immediately tells Tamwar that they need to start thinking on a global scale for their Argee Bhajee revamp. Tamwar is apprehensive over Afia's big ideas, so he calls in Zainab for moral support. When Zainab criticises Afia's plans and Tamwar backs his mum, a deflated Afia scraps her ideas.

Elsewhere, Ray is shocked to learn of Carol's plans to leave Walford with Morgan and the other kids, while Derek tells Carol that he's secured the family a better deal on a house in Suffolk on the condition that they wait for a month - but Carol isn't interested as she wants to leave as soon as possible.

Thursday

Derek bumps into a young girl, who pauses to look at him before running off. Back at home, Derek still isn't happy about Carol's plans to leave with the kids - so he comes up with a last-ditch attempt to prevent the move by manipulating Morgan and Ray. Derek convinces Morgan that he'd have a great time with his dad if he stayed in Walford, before paying a visit to Ray and expressing surprise that he isn't fighting for his child. Wound up by Derek's words, Ray heads over to tell Carol that he wants Morgan to stay. Derek suggests that they should let Morgan decide, but Ray realises this would be unfair on the youngster and agrees to let him go.

Later, after bidding farewell to his departing family, Derek notices that the same girl from earlier is staring at him again. Not long afterwards, Derek sees the girl spying on him yet another time. When she runs away, Derek gives chase and angrily demands to know who she is. However, Derek is shocked when she reveals that she's his daughter…

Meanwhile, Phil gets a phone call to say that Ben won't face any further action over his recent attempt to pervert the course of justice. Ben decides that a take-away and a DVD are in order for the Mitchells to celebrate, but the pleasant atmosphere doesn't last for long when DCI Marsden turns up. Phil is initially smug as he reminds Marsden that she has nothing on him now. However, Marsden warns that she'll be watching and waiting to pull the Mitchells apart as soon as Phil makes a mistake.

Elsewhere, Abi arranges a family meal at the Argee Bhajee to celebrate Max's birthday, Tanya fails to get Lauren to talk about her problems, while the bickering between Tamwar and Afia intensifies - but they manage to defy the odds and make the restaurant's re-opening a success.

Friday

Derek looks through Alice's phone, which she accidentally left behind yesterday. After calling her work number to obtain an address, Derek pays a visit to Alice but is left disappointed when she declares that she wants nothing to do with him. However, Derek's persistence soon pays off as he convinces Alice to have lunch with him.

As the pair spend time together, Derek tries to apologise for walking out on his family, but is surprised when Alice reveals that her mum has never spoken badly of him - instead she's encouraged Alice to make her own mind up. Alice confesses that she isn't impressed by Derek and now believes her brother Joey's claims that he's a waste of space. However, Derek is desperate to make things right and invites Alice to meet the rest of the Branning family at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Phil is feeling anxious following Marsden's threats and wants to escape the heat by taking the boys to visit Grant. However, neither Ben nor Jay wants to go. When the car fails to start, Jay seizes an opportunity to escape and runs off to Abi's place. Later, Roxy begs Phil to sort things out with Shirley for Ben's sake, claiming that all of the turmoil is destroying the schoolboy. However, Phil loses his temper by shouting that Ben isn't as good as Roxy thinks. Is Phil about to reveal all to Roxy?

Elsewhere, Max agrees to take Jay for a driving lesson when a worried Abi asks him to find out the reasons for Jay's strange moods, Christian is annoyed when Syed cancels their night out to babysit Yasmin, but Christian later cuts short alternative plans with Afia to be back at home with Syed, while Tyler moves in with Whitney and Derek.
