Didnt think anyone would catch Ashley out this soon
no this could've rumbled on a lot longer?
mind you, Sandy has been strong willed enough in the past, why not take his pension and move out if Ashley is so odious? or stay free loading off his son...

Emmerdale star John Middleton has confessed he hates having to act out Ashley Thomas' new violent storyline.
The 58-year-old actor, who plays the village vicar, is currently at the centre of the controversial soap plot which sees him mistreating his elderly dad Sandy (Freddie Jones).
"I'm the eldest of six children and instinctively I act like an elder brother," he told the TV Times.
"I am someone who stands up for people, who values bravery, and at the moment I'm playing a nasty, morally repugnant, bullying creep and I don't like it."
John admitted he even preferred being abusive to Freddie's stunt double.
"There is this one nasty scene and the stunt double said, 'I think Freddie can do this'. I was having to treat him roughly and I didn't like it. I took the stunt double to one side and said, 'I want to do this with you'," he recalled.
The actor revealed he has stayed away from social networking sites because he doesn't want to know how the storyline is being received by viewers.
"I am sure that what he has done will have provoked extreme reactions, but I don't do Twitter or Facebook so I don't know what's going on out there," he said.
"Danny Miller (Aaron Livesy), who tweets a lot, said, 'Mate, you should hear what they are saying about you!' and I said, 'Don't tell me, I don't want to know'. It's best not to."
Ali and her voice and family are annoying
Monday
Brenda is intrigued when Bob drives off without saying where he's going. At the same time, Jimmy is behaving strangely, so Carl tries to find out what's going on. Soon afterwards, Carl takes an intriguing call from Bob and demands that Jimmy tells him the truth. Jimmy finally admits that he got a call from Kelly yesterday.
Carl warns Jimmy that he'll have to come clean to Nicola, but before he does, she opens the front door to see Bob with Elliot in tow and a suitcase. Nicola realises this isn't a surprise to Jimmy and is furious. Bob explains that Kelly has met a bloke and gone to America with him for six months. Nicola flatly refuses to have Elliot stay, but Jimmy puts his foot down.
Meanwhile, Ruby is delighted when Ali tells her that she's spoken to Dan about the divorce and has called a solicitor, but Ali has to ask Rachel for help in reading the paperwork. Later, in the factory, Lisa asks Ali to cover the quality control as she has to rush and collect Samson. Ali worries that she can't read it, but afterwards she's confident that it all went smoothly.
Elsewhere, Chas and Cameron wonder where they go from here, Charity is busted by Gennie on the phone to a client, while Edna and Turner are concerned about Sandy when they discover that he wants to go into a home.
Tuesday
Jai and Nikhil are horrified when Gennie takes a call from a client who has received the wrong chocolates. As the fiasco escalates, Jai and Nikhil warn the factory staff that they'll get to the bottom of it. Ali and Lisa panic over whether they should come clean, but Lisa feels she has no choice but to admit that she left Ali in charge so she could collect Samson.
When Ali denies this, Lisa is dumbstruck and berates her as a liar before walking out, emotional and furious. However, Ali is caught when Lizzie knows that she's lying and has no choice but to await her fate. Jai calls round to apologise to Lisa, while Ali arrives home in floods of tears, telling Sean and Ruby that she's been sacked and feels like she can never do anything right.
Meanwhile, Laurel tells Ashley and Sandy that the care home has a room available. However, Laurel is uncomfortable at the strange atmosphere between Ashley and Sandy. Later, Laurel tells Gabby and Arthur that Sandy is moving away. They quiz Sandy about moving out, but Laurel is clear that Sandy won't be going unless it's perfect for him.
Elsewhere, Nicola resolves to be the bigger person and agrees to take Elliot to a fancy dress party with Angel, Megan sees how much Declan is hurting, Katie confides in Andy, while Brenda is distracted by daydreaming about Pollard - to the annoyance of Gennie and Bob.
Wednesday
Laurel and Ashley get Sandy ready for his visit to the care home. However, Laurel is stunned when Gabby mentions the time that Ashley pushed Sandy over. Laurel questions Gabby, but she clams up when Ashley comes in - leaving Laurel in turmoil.
At the care home, Laurel gets Sandy alone, but he is too uncomfortable to tell her what's been going on. Laurel can tell that he's hiding something, and Ashley is concerned when he sees them talking. On the way out, Sandy sits exhausted on a bench while Ashley heads to the car. Laurel pleads with him to tell her the truth, and she takes his hand as tears begin to fall down his face...
Meanwhile, Megan tries to get Katie to go back to Declan, but Katie doesn't appreciate her interfering. Gennie and Charity are amused by Katie's inscrutable attitude about Declan. Katie makes Declan sweat by telling him that she'll consider having dinner with him. Later, however, Declan is delighted when Katie decides to give him a second chance.
Elsewhere, Ruby finds out that Ali lied about why she was sacked, while Amy tells Victoria about her suspicions regarding Eric and Brenda, who succumb to temptation again.
Thursday
Laurel continues to plead with Sandy to confide in her, but he's adamant that there's nothing to tell. Soon afterwards, Laurel visits Rachel to find out what she said to social services about Sandy. The awful reality starts to sink in for Laurel when Rachel's version of events starts to make sense.
At the same time, Ashley grows agitated, questioning Sandy about where Laurel's concerns have come from. Ashley then rushes out to find Laurel and is terrified to see her chatting to Rachel. Ashley returns home and becomes increasingly threatening towards Sandy, until he finally snaps and hits him. A shocked Laurel stands in the doorway, having seen everything…
Meanwhile, Ruby is determined to get an answer out of Ali, and is shocked to discover that she can't read. She's understanding when Ali explains about her illiteracy, and is concerned to see the extent of her shame and embarrassment. Later, Sean goes to the factory to appeal for Ali's job, telling Jai and Nikhil the real reason that she messed up.
Elsewhere, Amy gets confirmation that Pollard and Brenda are seeing each other, Jai gets Gennie to book Charity a flight to Cologne to meet a potential client, while Declan surprises Katie with a new car and Megan enjoys winding him up about buying affections.
A panicked Laurel rushes to Sandy, screaming at Ashley to keep away. Disgusted with himself, Ashley runs from the house. Laurel tends to Sandy and asks him how many times this has happened. Sandy tearfully admits this was the first time Ashley actually hit him. Laurel then vows to look after Sandy and takes him round to Edna's house while she goes to find Ashley.
Later, Laurel finds Ashley back at home and demands to know what's been going on. Ashley claims that he lost control for one second, but Laurel is incredulous at his denial and challenges him with what she knows. She gradually realises that Ashley has been taking out his anger on Sandy over her feelings for Marlon. In tears and unable to comprehend what Sandy has been through, Laurel walks out.
Meanwhile, a make-up party for the girls is in full swing. Later, Carl and Megan are put out when Katie muscles in on their cosy ride home. Returning to Home Farm, Carl is taken aback by Megan's new forward approach as she kisses him passionately. But he happily goes along with it when she claims that sometimes women just need some fun.

Later, Laurel returns home to Mulberry and tells Ashley that if he stays, he can't be left alone with his dad or the kids. She then heads out to see Sandy, telling him that she'll support him whatever he decides to do. However, Edna doesn't think Sandy should go back home and promises to let him stay with her as long as he wants.
Sandy doesn't know what to do, but knows he can't split up his family. He's determined to see Ashley and goes with Laurel. At Mulberry, Ashley desperately apologises to them both for his behaviour, but Laurel makes it clear that she's only there for Sandy. Ashley fears he has lost her forever.
Meanwhile, Declan is unimpressed to discover that Carl spent the night with his sister. Later, Megan is vacant with Carl at the pub, much to Chas's amusement. Megan then takes her bad mood out on Jai, commenting on his parenting skills. Back at Home Farm, Declan wants Megan to apologise to Jai, but he realises that her attitude is because of her son Robbie. She walks out, leaving Katie puzzled and Declan worried.
Elsewhere, Pollard tries to apologise to Brenda but she's not interested, Nikhil's not pleased to have Noah around while Charity is away, while Chas and Cameron are awkward with one another in the pub.

Megan is VERY unattractive she's got to be the ugliest actress in Emmerdale history! Her nose looks like a bird's beak!
Emmerdale star John Middleton has said that he wants the show's elder abuse storyline to have a positive impact.
The actor, who plays troubled vicar Ashley Thomas, is urging people to ask for help if they find themselves in the same situation as his soap character.
Emmerdale fans have recently seen Ashley mistreating his frail father Sandy (Freddie Jones) as he struggles to cope with the pressure of looking after him.
Ashley has become particularly bad-tempered around Sandy since his marriage to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) ran into trouble, as he fears that she will leave him if their home life isn't perfect.
Middleton told Lorraine today (April 18): "The reaction has been quite varied. A lot of people my age tell me anecdotally of people they know who are saying their mum and dad are driving them up the wall. So it is being discussed, but it's being discussed in a very, very hidden way.
"No-one's coming out and saying, 'Look, I feel this about my mum, I feel this about my dad'. If there's one thing I want to get across with this story, it's that if you find yourself driven to the awful position that Ashley finds himself driven to, talk to someone well before you get there."
He continued: "I think there's this view in the country that if you dare to go to social services, you'll somehow be in trouble or they'll prosecute you for something. It's not the case - they're principally there to help, not to prosecute. Every professional I've spoken to about this says exactly the same thing."
Middleton admitted that he isn't expecting Emmerdale fans to forgive Ashley anytime soon.
He said: "I don't think they're going to like him from now on, and quite justifiably so. Yes, Ashley has been under all sorts of pressures, and as an actor you look into that mentally. But it doesn't condone in any way what he's done.
"If Ashley had been more sensible, he'd have spoken to somebody. He'd have spoken to Laurel, but he's terrified of doing that because he wants to make everything perfect for her. He would have spoken to his friend Jude, or he would have spoken to the woman who came round from social services."
Emmerdale viewers see the storyline reach a dramatic climax tomorrow (April 19) as Laurel witnesses Ashley's abusive behaviour for herself.
Emmerdale vicar Ashley Thomas is finally caught out this evening (April 19) as his wife Laurel witnesses his abusive behaviour for herself.
Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) is now deeply suspicious of her husband, so she pays a visit to Rachel Breckle (Gemma Oaten) to ask why she was so concerned over Sandy a few weeks ago.
When Ashley (John Middleton) sees Laurel with Rachel, he's horrified and takes his rage out on Sandy (Freddie Jones) back at the house.
After becoming increasingly threatening towards his father, Ashley completely loses control and hits him. However, he then spots that a disgusted Laurel is standing in the doorway, having seen everything…
