Is Adam blaming Declan for John's death?

Coming up in Emmerdale, Gaynor Faye makes her debut on the soap as she takes on the role of Declan's half-sister Megan Macey.

As Declan (Jason Merrells) still hopes to go ahead with his plans for a musical festival, Nicola and Charity both angle for a job organising the event. However, they're in for a shock when Declan brings Megan to the village and introduces her as his new festival manager.

Later, though, it becomes clear that Megan may still need some convincing as she bickers with Declan over whether she really will join forces with him. Declan is eager to have Megan on board as he knows she has the right skills, but she remains unsure - leaving him frustrated.

At the same time, Katie (Sammy Winward) isn't entirely bowled over by the new arrival as she had no idea that Declan had a half-sister. The pair also get off on the wrong foot when Megan dismisses Katie, assuming that she's only a Home Farm staff member.

In the end, Declan gets tough with Megan by giving her a one-day deadline to make a decision about the festival job, and Katie is pleased to see him stand up to her. What will Megan decide?

Monday

Declan is concerned that the council need his festival application before their deadline and the permission is dependent on an access road across the Bartons' land. Katie worries about Declan's timing as it's too soon after the accident, but they both head to the farm.

Adam seethes as Declan explains that he just needs an agreement in principle, and Katie realises they should go when the mood becomes heated. Katie and Declan are later troubled when Adam arrives at Home Farm to tell Declan that he can kiss goodbye to his festival.

Meanwhile, when Sarah cuts her knee and needs to be taken to hospital, Debbie finds out that Andy has told Cameron everything. Charity advises Debbie to go and find Cameron to sort it out, but Andy is unimpressed that Debbie is putting Cameron before their daughter. Debbie arrives home to discover that Cameron has been trying to book a ferry to Jersey. She's left devastated when Cameron picks up his bags and leaves.

Elsewhere, Zak has an anxiety attack, while Ed brings his car to the garage for Aaron to look over, but he's left feeling like a spare part when Aaron is disinterested.



Tuesday

Declan is still determined to go ahead with the festival. As Nicola angles for a job organising it, Declan enjoys playing her and Charity against each other. Later, Charity and Nicola are dumbstruck when Declan introduces them to Megan, his new festival manager - neglecting to mention that she is his half-sister.

As the day continues, Megan and Declan bicker about whether she'll join forces with him. When Katie interrupts, Megan is dismissive - assuming that Katie is staff. Megan is surprised to learn that Katie is his girlfriend, while Katie is put out that she didn't know he had a half-sister.

Meanwhile, Debbie sees a glimmer of hope for her and Cameron, but is stressed when he lays down his rules about keeping Andy away. Debbie tells Cameron that she'll do whatever he wants as long as he stands by her. Later, Debbie visits Andy to explain Cameron's rules - they are to stay away from each other as Cameron doesn't want him near. Finally, Debbie is relieved when Cameron agrees to stay as long as her lies stop.

Elsewhere, Ashley talks to the Bartons about the funeral, while Nikhil's rigid fitness routines mean Gennie feels neglected.



Wednesday

Katie asks Jai about Megan's background, so Jai warily explains that she once had a deal with Declan that went very wrong. At the same time, Declan explains to Megan that he really needs her on board with the festival and wants her skills to get the Bartons back on side. However, Megan is not sure, leaving Declan frustrated.

Over a tense lunch, Declan gets the impression that Megan won't be taking the job. Later, while alone with Megan, Katie stands her ground when Megan has a dig and the pair face off. In the end, Katie and Declan are surprised when Megan announces that she will go and see the Bartons, but as Declan opens the champagne, Katie is left wondering what she has to put up with.

Meanwhile, Zak seems disinterested when Lisa reminds him about going to the Bartons. He heads up to Butlers and attempts to help fix a fence post, but feels helpless around them - unable to offer comfort or support.

Elsewhere, Gennie starts to worry about Nikhil's obsession with exercise, Ashley continues to be frustrated with Sandy, while Andy makes it clear to Cameron that he'll stay away from Debbie but will be there for Sarah.



Thursday

Lisa expresses her worries about Zak to Sam, explaining that he didn't come to bed last night and she can't find him. She does her best to hide her concerns from Belle, but is later forced to admit to Belle that she doesn't know where Zak is.

Later, the Dingles are surprised when Jimmy calls round and tells them that he saw Zak's van abandoned in town, and he agrees to take them to it. However, Lisa is desperately worried when there's still no sign of Zak.

Meanwhile, Cameron is wound up at Sarah's party when Andy arrives. Cameron warns him to leave, and Andy's gutted when Debbie confirms he should go. Later, Debbie apologises to Andy and covers to Cameron that she's worried about Zak.

Elsewhere, Gennie is thrown when Nikhil suggests he's going to train for a marathon, Adam is left with food for thought when Megan suggests renting out the fields for the festival, Ashley warns Laurel that she can't keep pandering to Sandy, while Megan makes an impression in the pub and Carl takes a shine to her.




Friday

It's the day of the funeral and Adam fights back the tears as he looks out over the fields.

Holly is grateful for Roz's support when she turns up, but it's a heartbreaking day for the village.

Meanwhile, Ashley is sarcastic with Sandy when he wants to go to the funeral and refuses to cash his pension for him. Later, Laurel is concerned when Sandy apologises for ruining her night and she sees how sad he looks.

Elsewhere, Lisa is disgusted when Zak decides not to attend the funeral, while Declan tells Megan that she's got until tomorrow to make her decision about the festival job.

Emmerdale's Declan Macey faces a backlash as he upsets the grieving Barton clan in tonight's episode of the soap.

Declan (Jason Merrells) feels sorry for the Bartons following the news of John's death, but his mind turns back to business when the council warn that there's a deadline looming for his music festival application.

Needing the green light for an access road through the family's land, Declan pays a visit to the farm to ask if he can rent a couple of their fields.

Moira (Natalie J Robb) promises to consider the request, but when Declan starts to pressure her, Adam (Adam Thomas) lashes out - questioning how he has the nerve to discuss business with them so soon after John's death. Has Declan blown his chances?

Emmerdale welcomes Gaynor Faye to the cast this evening as she takes on the role of Declan's ruthless half-sister Megan.

Megan turns up at Home Farm after being invited by Declan (Jason Merrells), who is keen to get his plans for the music festival back on track.

With the Barton family being uncooperative over his desire to rent a couple of their fields, Declan knows that he needs an efficient project manager to help him out - and sees no-nonsense Megan as the ideal candidate.

Megan's arrival shocks Charity Tate (Emma Atkins) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) as they had both hoped to organise the festival.

Meanwhile, Declan's partner Katie (Sammy Winward) isn't entirely happy to see Megan either - especially as she had no idea that Declan had a half-sister! How will Megan settle into the village?

Emmerdale's Katie Sugden is left fuming this evening as newcomer Megan Macey continues with her rude behaviour.

Declan (Jason Merrells) is still eager for Megan (Gaynor Faye) to oversee the festival project, but she is dragging her heels after being betrayed by her half-brother in the past.

Over a tense lunch, Megan gives Declan some harsh home truths - but Katie (Sammy Winward) isn't at all impressed at the way she's treating him.

As the two women later have a moment alone, Megan also has a dig at Katie and the pair face off. Katie is then left wondering what she'll have to put up with if Megan will be sticking around…
