Hollyoaks spoilers week commencing 26th December

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks' Boxing Day episode sees troubled Doug Carter reach breaking point as he prepares to end it all.

With Texas and Leanne both away for the holidays, Doug (PJ Brennan) struggles to cope as he spends the festive season totally alone.

At his lowest ebb, Doug decides that he'd be better off dead so he drunkenly stands on the edge of a bridge and prepares to jump.

However, just as he does so, Doug finds himself back in his flat with the heavenly vision of Steph Roach (Carley Stenson) before him!

Steph is back as an angel to convince Doug of the positive impact that he's made in Hollyoaks over the past year. She soon shows him a very different world - illustrating that without his influence, one teenage resident would be pregnant, while another character would be a broken man after losing his loved ones at the hands of Silas Blissett.

However, Doug also sees that if he had never arrived in the village, his late girlfriend Bex (Daisy Turner) would still be alive. Faced with the decision of whether to go to heaven and save Bex's life, or return to Hollyoaks and save the fate of his friends, what will Doug do?

Monday

At his lowest ebb, Doug can see no way out and decides to end it all. He stands on the edge of the bridge and prepares to jump.

However, as he does so, Doug is visited by a celestial being in the shape of Stephanie de la Dean!

Steph offers Doug the opportunity to go back to Hollyoaks for the very first time and he jumps at the chance to start again.

Returning to Hollyoaks, Doug is faced with a very different world and begins to appreciate the difference he has made to those around him. But is it too late for him to return to his old life?

Tuesday

Joel is left questioning if he has any place in Hollyoaks after what happened.

Meanwhile, Texas and Jodie deal with the fallout of the previous day's events.

Elsewhere, Mercedes finds herself questioning whether she can cope bringing Bobby up on her own

Wednesday

Mercedes is gutted when Riley snubs her, but he pays the price when she takes her frustrations out on him and stops him from seeing his son.

Meanwhile, the students prepare to journey up to Barney's, but as they start their adventures, Theresa and Will feel further apart than ever. Could this be the end of the road for them?

Elsewhere, Texas's jealousy builds as she watches Dodger pursue Jodie.

Thursday

Jacqui is outraged when she discovers that Mercedes tried to stop Riley seeing his son and encourages her to put the past behind her - but can she?

Meanwhile, the students are in high spirits as they intend to make the most of their impressive surroundings, but an unexpected arrival threatens to spoil the party.

Elsewhere, Jodie is amused by her many admirers.

Also today, the band prepare for the opportunity of a lifetime.

Friday

Mercedes prepares to finally let go of Riley, but as she realises just how much this will cost her, she's not sure if she can really go through with it.

Meanwhile, Barney finds himself torn between his friends and his parents, but realises that it's time to stand on his own two feet for once.

Elsewhere, Jodie has her eye on someone unsuspecting at midnight.
