I hope David stays around if Holby can spare him :p
Can Amira just leave already ? , her return has been awful. I had hoped she'd stop been deluded about wanting Syed back, especially after the fire but from these spoilers, 3 months after her return she is still trying to get Syed back. The writers have made her totally unsympathetic, she needs to move on. Her return storyline could've been good but like Yusef it's going around in circles. It will be nice to see David Wicks back.
Pat's loved ones gather to say goodbye
Airs Sunday, Jan 1 2012 at 19:00 GMT on BBC One
70 minute-long episode
Pat's family gather round her as she lies seriously ill in bed at home. When Pat asks whether David has called, she pretends to be nonchalant when she discovers that he hasn't. The family then discuss what to do and who to call amongst themselves. Soon afterwards, Max, Tanya, Dot and Derek arrive at the house to pay their last respects. Derek immediately stoops to a new low by winding up Pat over her illness, goading her over how she's nearing the end. Tanya is disgusted by his behaviour and brands Derek a freak, and when he responds with a jibe about Tanya's own health problems, Max turns against Derek.
Pat soon receives some comfort from a sympathetic Dot, and the pair reminisce about the past. Vowing not to take her cancer lying down, Pat then tries to get out of bed - but she soon needs her family's help when she suffers more pain. With Pat nearing the end, Ian is next to visit her and they reflect fondly on their time as friends.
Meanwhile, Bianca realises that there's an atmosphere between Ricky and Mandy. Ian's own suspicions are piqued when he overhears Bianca demanding answers from Mandy. Alone with Ian, Mandy confesses that she slept with Ricky - admitting that it was brilliant.
Elsewhere, Whitney ends up in an embrace with Tyler after venting to him about Pat's illness.
Pat's death leaves the Square in mourning
Airs Monday, Jan 2 2012 at 20:00 GMT on BBC One
The Butchers are grief-stricken following Pat's death, while tensions are running high between Ricky and Bianca over his one-night stand with Mandy. Carol finds herself playing mother hen as she puts on a brave face and tries to comfort everyone, but when she is alone, she finally breaks down. David walks in on her emotional moment and quickly allows Carol some time to herself.
Albert Square's residents all show their respect to Pat by keeping their curtains drawn, while The Vic, café and Minute Mart are all closed for bereavement. Later, when The Vic does open, everyone gathers as Alfie makes a toast to Pat. Derek soon tries to make trouble at the pub by warning David that he's not welcome in Walford. However, David refuses to be intimidated and tells Derek that he isn't going anywhere.
Meanwhile, Ian is struggling following Mandy's confession. Mandy decides that there's no way Ian will ever forgive her, so she packs her bags.
Elsewhere, Anthony is left smitten following an encounter with Amira; Ben is left reeling when Shirley talks about the lengthy prison stretch that Phil is facing; while Alfie pulls Kat up over her confession on the penguin cam.
Denise seeks revenge against Phil
Airs Tuesday, Jan 3 2012 at 19:30 GMT on BBC One
Denise embarks on a very public campaign against Phil by handing out posters across the Square which brand him a murderer. Shirley is furious over her antics, ordering Ben to get rid of the posters before Phil sees them. She then tries to distract Phil by revealing an old banger that the boys can fix up to race in a demolition derby.
When Phil does see one of the posters, Shirley decides to try taking a sensitive approach with Denise. Shirley explains to Denise that Kevin wasn't angry with Phil when he died and wouldn't have wanted her to seek revenge on his behalf. Denise appears to have been talked down when she accepts that Kevin's death was a tragic accident.
Meanwhile, Kat is shocked when Alfie books them in for a marriage guidance session. Alfie arrives at the appointment alone and struggles to answer the questions, so he makes an excuse to leave early. When he bumps into Kat outside, Alfie lies to her - claiming that the counsellor didn't show up.
Elsewhere, Ricky stumbles across a letter that could have dire consequences for one of the residents of Albert Square; Bianca tells David that she loves having him around; while Afia is upset when Tamwar refuses to see her at the hospital.
Phil pushes Denise and Patrick too far
Airs Thursday, Jan 5 2012 at 19:30 GMT on BBC One
Phil sees that one of Denise's posters is still floating around the Square, so he furiously orders Patrick to get rid of the remaining flyers. Phil has no idea that bullying Patrick is a bad move, as Patrick has got hold of an incriminating letter which could cause trouble for Phil. Tired of Phil's behaviour, Patrick takes the letter to Denise and tells her that it's time to call the police.
Meanwhile, Carol and David are united when Bianca tells them the truth about Ricky's one-night stand with Mandy. Later, Carol heads out to meet David for a drink, but she's disappointed when she spots him flirting with Roxy. David kisses Roxy, but with Carol on his mind, he can't take things any further and leaves alone.
Elsewhere, Syed is heartbroken when he sees Christian with a one-night stand. Soon afterwards, Amira is up to her old tricks as she publicly kisses a horrified Syed in an attempt to warn Christian off. Syed later calls Christian in the hope of fixing everything, but he's forced to hang up when a desperate Amira pretends to fall down the stairs.
Also today, Alfie pays a friend to pretend to be a counsellor, hoping that things will work out if a fake 'expert' tells Kat that her marriage is okay.
Derek issues a sinister threat to David
Airs Friday, Jan 6 2012 at 20:00 GMT on BBC One
David is pleased to see that Carol is jealous over him and Roxy, but he finally puts her out of her misery by declaring that Roxy doesn't compare to her. Later, Derek goads David by telling him about the argument he had with Pat while she was dying. Carol tries to prevent a fight from breaking out between the pair, but Derek later warns David that he's coming after him as soon as Pat has been buried.
Meanwhile, Patrick hands himself into the police when he learns that the insurance company won't pay Kim due to the fireworks that were being stored at the B&B. However, it turns out that Patrick's confession makes no difference when it comes to the insurance. Keen to make things right, Patrick vows to hand the Minute Mart over to Kim and Denise.
Elsewhere, Syed is struggling as he juggles the dual task of making amends with Christian and convincing Amira to let go of their marriage. He initially hopes that getting both Christian and Amira in one room will help matters, but this backfires. Later, Syed resorts to desperate measures as he invites Qadim to the Square and they join forces to persuade Amira to accept the divorce. Amira eventually relents, but will this be enough to get Christian and Syed back on track?
Also today, Heather is heartbroken when Andrew turns down the chance to stay over
I thought Patrick and Yolanda had sold the minute mart previously ??????

David doesn't make it for Pat dying then? Sounds that way.
She’s famously the old tart with a heart who has lived on Albert Square for more than 25 years and survived four husbands, countless affairs and a series of explosive clashes with such formidable women as Pauline Fowler, Peggy Mitchell, Dot Branning, Mo Slater and her wicked stepdaughter Janine.
But on New Year’s Day, the legendary Fat Pat will put on her famous chandelier earrings for the very last time and bid what promises to be an emotional farewell to Walford as she finally ends up brown bread in an hour-long special.
Knowing that the superb veteran actress Pam St Clement decided to quit her iconic role last year, Pat’s death comes as no real surprise. But while most viewers would have anticipated a heart attack as the worry of her debts and losing her home overwhelmed her, it’s a short, brutal
and painful battle with pancreatic cancer that finally does for her.
And as she reaches for her last gin and tonic, there are some moving scenes with her family, Dot and even a bereft Janine. But you can rely on the vile Derek Branning making her dying moments as unpleasant as possible.
And with Michael French returning as Pat’s feckless son David Wicks, we suspect that the old girl won’t be allowed to rest in peace just yet. Don’t miss it.
With the kind of sexual chemistry that meant millionairess Janine and lover Michael Moon were at it like knives at the drop of a £50 note, is it any surprise she should fall pregnant?
Just as predictably, it goes without saying that motherhood plays no part in ruthless Janine’s pursuit of world domination and owning more properties and businesses in Walford than even crime warlord Phil.
Convinced that Michael is nothing more than a penniless gold-digger – and she should know – Janine decides to go ahead with the abortion.
But proving there is life after death, she changes her mind after a chat with dying Pat. Ah, Janine does have a heart after all…
