Neighbours favourite Toadie Rebecchi will face a crisis of conscience when it emerges that his work colleagues may be implicated in a vicious attack on Chris Pappas, reports have revealed.

Chris, played by James Mason, will be beaten up by a mystery assailant while at work in the soap's 2011 season finale week, which airs next month in Australia.

The mechanic's boss Lucas Fitzgerald (Scott Major) initially suspects that homophobic customer Warren Burrell was the culprit. However, he later realises that the incident may have been linked to his decision not to sell the garage to make way for the proposed shopping centre development.

TV Week reports that Lucas studies the garage's security footage and sees that a man with links to Toadie's boss Peter Noonan was present around the time of the attack.

Toadie assures him that the individual in question no longer works for Peter, but Lucas realises this may not be the case when he spots him in Peter's office.

Ryan Moloney, who plays Toadie, told the magazine: "Something has happened and Toadie's law firm is involved. But I don't want to say either way, because that will blow it out of the water."

He continued: "Toadie has gone to any lengths to get this development pushed through. People above him have been pushing him above and beyond what he thought he'd ever do. Chris is a lovely guy and Toadie's upset at possibly being found to be involved."

Toadie has found his loyalties called into question in recent weeks after his law firm started representing the shopping development.

Neighbours' season finale airs next week on Eleven in Australia and early next year on Channel 5 in the UK.

Neighbours star Valentina Novakovic has hinted at the next "shocking" twist ahead in the soap's Natasha and Michael storyline.

Episodes airing in the UK this week see Tash left stunned after learning that the cause of her late mother Helena's death was drowning - a fact that her dad hid from her for many years. A young Tash was also in the water at the time of the tragedy and survived after Michael (Sandy Winton) rescued her.

In a new interview with TV Week, Novakovic confirmed that there is even more to be revealed about Michael's actions on the fateful day in upcoming episodes.

Novakovic explained: "It's something to do with the day her mother died and there's a reason why her dad couldn't save them both.

"He couldn't save them both because he was too late getting there - and it's the reasoning behind that. It's very shocking and juicy!"

The latest stage in the plotline begins to unfold in Neighbours' 2011 season finale week, which sees Tash, her aunt Emilia (Freya Stafford) and Michael head to the beach where Helena died.

Novakovic explained: "It's kind of saying goodbye. It's really letting go of that part of her life. It's quite an emotional time.

"She likes that Emilia is there, but Michael is a bit funny about it."

Neighbours' season finale week airs next month on Eleven in Australia and early next year on Channel 5 in the UK.
