Neighbours teen Chris Pappas will take centre stage in the soap's 2011 season finale week as he becomes the victim of a shock attack, reports have revealed.
The mechanic, played by James Mason, will be beaten up and left for dead when a mystery assailant corners him at work, TV Soap reports.
Chris is later rushed to hospital when he is found at the garage and the attack is discovered.
The identity of the attacker has not been revealed, but the incident comes in the wake of Chris's fresh troubles with homophobic customer Warren Burrell - making him one of the suspects.
Earlier this year, Mason told Digital Spy that Chris would meet his new love interest - nurse Aidan Foster - as a result of his season finale storyline.
"Let's just say that Chris is involved in a potentially life-threatening experience which will also have a major impact on some of the other characters," he said at the time. "And through this incident, he meets Aidan."
Kyle Canning's (Christopher Milligan) storyline with potential love interest Jade Mitchell (Gemma Pranita) is also expected to come to a head in the season finale week when the Ramsay Street minx decides to leave Erinsborough unexpectedly.
Reports suggest that Kyle then faces a race against time to convince Jade to come home.
