Did her mother kill herself?
Neighbours mechanic Chris Pappas will face a sinister threat from homophobic customer Warren Burrell in a forthcoming storyline.
Chris, played by James Mason, experiences a frightening situation when he strikes up a platonic friendship with Warren's son Blake in scenes soon to air in Australia.
The teenager first met Warren earlier this year when he turned up as a customer at the Erinsborough garage. Warren's prejudice soon reared its ugly head, but Chris was left disappointed as his boss Lucas (Scott Major) failed to do anything about it.
When Warren makes his return to the garage in an upcoming episode, Lucas finally shows his support for Chris by putting up a "gay-friendly workplace" sticker and defending his protégé.
However, Chris's problems are only just beginning as when he finds himself on good terms with Blake, Warren is furious that his son has a gay friend. Determined to put a stop to the situation, Warren warns Chris that he will kill him if he spends any more time with Blake.
Mason told TV Week: "It's just a shame that they can't keep their friendship going because of Warren and what he's like. I don't think Chris, or Blake for that matter, really know how serious Warren was when he told Chris to stay away."
In the aftermath of the row, it becomes clear that someone is spying on Chris from afar - leaving viewers to wonder whether Warren is planning his revenge or if somebody else could be responsible.
Mason confirmed: "Something big is going to happen. It may not end well for Chris."
Neighbours airs these scenes next week on Eleven in Australia and in January on Channel 5 in the UK.
Does someone try to kill Chris and then he ends up in hospital where he meets Aiden?
