Emmerdale's new recruit Fiona Wade has admitted that her character Priya Sharma may end up regretting her passion with Cain Dingle in upcoming episodes.

Cain has set his sights on Priya since she returned to the village earlier this month, and she looks set to succumb to his advances in a future plot twist.

Wade told Soaplife of Priya's future: "[Cain] caught her attention straight away. They have good chemistry and she can sense he's a bad boy rebel - it attracts her. She's not aware he's seeing her to get at Jai… She's intrigued by Cain but I don't think she realises just how dark he is. For the moment, Priya's having fun."

However, she continued: "It could all turn horrible as Cain isn't a very nice man. Priya loves all his game-playing and it's not long before Cain has Priya exactly where he wants her."

The actress said that she has enjoyed working with Jeff Hordley, who plays the role of Cain.

"It's so much fun and Jeff is wonderful. He made me feel at ease immediately," she explained. "I couldn't wish to work with nicer people and I'm loving being Emmerdale's newest addition.

"One minute Priya's rowing with Jai, the next she's wrapped in bed sheets sleeping with the village bad boy!"

Wade was cast in Emmerdale in September. Effie Woods previously portrayed the role of Priya.

Emmerdale's Fiona Wade has revealed she loves her soap family as she grew up an only child.
The former Where The Heart Is star plays wild-child Priya Sharma in the Dales and revealed to Inside Soap magazine she has great fun working with Chris Bisson and Rik Makarem, who play her brothers Jai and Nikhil.
Fiona said: "I don't have an siblings in real life as I'm an only child - but I've always felt like I'm from quite a large family as I've got loads of cousins.
"I love having two brothers in Emmerdale. Chris and Rik are both so great, and it's just as much fun off set as it is on.
"We've got a really good banter going on between us all."
Priya has started a dangerous flirtation with bad boy Cain Dingle, and though Jai's fiance Charity has warned her off him, Fiona thinks Priya will be even more determined to pursue him.
She said: "The fact Charity has warned her off has actually made Priya more interested in Cain. She's really intrigued by him and has no idea that he's just interested in her to antagonise Jai.
"For the moment it's all a bit of fun - but as we know, it could all go horribly wrong, because Cain isn't a nice man."
