Zainab Masood prepares to marry Yusef Khan on EastEnders next month after accepting his surprise proposal.
As the pair's big day arrives, their family members voice their disapproval over the wedding going ahead and tensions soon run high over the situation.
Later, a concerned Denise tries to talk to Masood over the matter, urging him to convince Zainab (Nina Wadia) not to go through with the ceremony. Will Masood let Zainab marry Yusef (Ace Bhatti) or will he try to stop the wedding?
An EastEnders insider commented: "None of the family are happy that the wedding is going ahead but they concede to it, thinking that it's what Zainab really wants.
"Masood tries to hide his upset that Zainab is getting married, but Denise tells him that the wedding is a mistake and he has to make Zainab see sense. What will Masood do?"
These scenes air on Thursday, December 8 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
Monday
Yusef is up to his usual manipulative tricks as he tells Tamwar that there's a danger Zainab could make another suicide attempt - keen to spark his concern and convince him to come along to Pakistan. The schemer's methods prove successful when Tamwar announces that he will go to Pakistan until Zainab is settled, leaving her thrilled. Zainab worries about how Masood will feel about her taking Kamil to another country, but Yusef appears thrilled over the heartbreak it's going to cause for his arch-rival.
Afia is back in the house following her shocking discussion with Tariq over the fire all those years ago, but she struggles to find the right moment to speak to Yusef about it. Later, Yusef goes out to meet Tariq, who confronts him over his deception regarding the restaurant. However, Yusef assures him that the restaurant will be his to give away once he has bought Tamwar and Afia out. When Yusef returns home, Afia reveals that she knows his secret and he must tell Zainab - or she will.
Over at The Vic, the build-up to Christmas officially begins as Alfie turns on the tree lights. Kat suggests to Alfie that they should do something tonight, but he encourages her to join Kim and Denise on a girls' night out they have planned. At the R&R, a man named Troy soon takes a shine to Kat, and when the night draws to a close, Kim wants to continue the party so she and Kat end up at Troy's place. Kim then heads off to the off-licence with some of Troy's friends, while Kat falls asleep on Troy's sofa and doesn't wake up until the early hours of the morning. When Kat finally returns home, Alfie thinks she has slept with another man and won't listen to her protestations of innocence.
Elsewhere, Jane vows to help Tanya with the struggling Booty's business after Max tells her about the cancer, while Jack informs a shocked Janine that he has been subbing Michael as he doesn't have any money.
Tuesday
It's early morning in the Masood house, so Afia and Zainab are the only two people up. When Yusef comes downstairs, he is worried when he sees the pair chatting, but Afia privately assures him that she hasn't told Zainab the truth about the fire. However, she also gets tough with her father - warning that she wants him to leave London now that she knows the truth. Yusef has other ideas, though, and breaks down as he comes clean to Zainab about how he started the fire all those years ago. Stunned, Zainab runs out of the house.
Later, Zainab returns and wants the full story from Yusef, so he blames his father's influence and reminds her that he was only young. Yusef adds that he went back for Zainab and has always loved her. Wondering what she should do next, Zainab asks Afia for advice, but she admits that she feels like she doesn't know Yusef anymore. Ultimately, Zainab makes a shocking decision - telling Yusef that it's best to put all of this behind them and never speak of it again as she wants to marry him tomorrow…
Meanwhile, Phil's woes continue as the police arrive with search warrants for all of his properties. However, to Phil's relief, they don't find anything. As Ben and Jay tell Lola about the stalker's antics, Phil heads off to see Jack, who announces that he knows who took the folder as he has found Ben's fingerprints at the flat. When Ben is confronted over this, he is forced to confess that he and Jay left Amy alone on the night they were babysitting - leaving Jack furious. While the row is going on, Phil receives another threatening text which warns that the stalker wants £2,000 in cash by tomorrow!
Elsewhere, Patrick agrees to hide the fireworks and booze for the Moon boys; Alfie dismisses Kat's attempts to talk about last night; while Janine and Michael argue over money in the wake of Jack's revelation.
Thursday
Zainab and Yusef announce to the family that they have decided to get married today, but nobody is pleased about it apart from Tamwar, who wants whatever makes his mum happy. Yusef continues his attempts to control Zainab by urging her to quit her job at the Minute Mart as they will soon be moving to Pakistan. Later, Zainab visits Masood to tell him about the wedding and although it's clear the pair still have feelings for each other, he wishes her luck. Zainab also tells Denise about her plans and resigns from the shop under Yusef's instruction.
Soon afterwards, Denise urges Masood to stop Zainab from marrying Yusef and moving away. However, Masood knew nothing about the move and is shocked that Zainab would take Kamil to live in another country. Back at the Masood house, Syed and Tamwar are both uneasy over the wedding and Syed holds out hope that Masood will step in to stop it. When the ceremony gets under way, there is a sudden knock on the door - but rather than being Masood, it's Denise. Denise urges Zainab to see that Yusef is controlling her and that she's strong enough to walk away, but Zainab declares that Denise is just jealous. As Denise leaves, though, Zainab seems unsure of what to do next. Will she marry Yusef?
Meanwhile, Phil and Billy bury dodgy goods in the allotments but someone is watching them. Later, Phil leaves a hold-all underneath Arthur's bench following the text message he received demanding cash. He then watches from upstairs in The Vic to see who collects the money, but his plans are thwarted when he receives a text saying that they saw him watching. Shirley then takes control of the situation, leaving the bag at the war memorial. This time, a hooded youth picks up the bag and tries to escape the scene, but Ben stops him. The individual in question turns out to be Liam, who reveals that Lola paid him to pick the bag up. Phil quickly goes on the warpath and confronts Lola. However, when he angrily shakes her, Lola loses her footing on Billy's steps and hits her head as she falls.
Elsewhere, Rainie decides to leave the Square so that she is not a burden on Tanya, while Tanya kicks Derek out of the house.
Friday
Lola lies unconscious following the accident, so an ambulance is quickly called. When Lola comes round, Phil continues demanding to know where the file is, but the troublemaking teen insists that she has no idea. Shirley tries to make Phil see that Lola isn't the stalker - she just tried to use the situation to her advantage for cash. Later, at the hospital, Billy and Lola both cover for Phil by insisting that she slipped and it was just an accident. However, Lola is not out of the danger zone yet as she gets a pain in her stomach and collapses.
When Phil arrives home, DS Kain is waiting for him having received a tip-off over Phil burying stolen goods in the allotment. However, Phil manages to keep his cool and stays one step ahead of Kain. Back at the hospital, Lola is awake again and is relieved when a scan shows that her baby is fine. When Billy and Lola arrive back on the Square, there is a nasty shock in store as Billy is arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property. The police explain that Billy's fingerprints are all over the stolen goods.
Meanwhile, Derek backs up Carol when she rebukes Shirley for threatening Liam. Carol then agrees to spend some time with Derek, so they eat ice cream together in the park. Derek offers his condolences over Billie's death and insists that his racist attitudes are gone as he is a changed man. Carol believes him and soon agrees that Derek can move into Pat's house. However, when Pat finds this out, she quickly vetoes the idea and kicks Derek straight back out. Carol considers having a go at Pat but soon realises there are bigger issues at stake as the Albert Square matriarch may be about to lose everything as she can't afford the repayments on her loan.
Elsewhere, Rose does a tarot card reading for Kim and Jean and suggests that love could be on the cards for one of them.
EastEnders star Nina Wadia has explained why her character Zainab Masood is so willing to forgive Yusef Khan's shocking secret next week.
Zainab is left horrified in an upcoming episode when Yusef (Ace Bhatti) finally confesses that he started the fire which almost killed her many years ago. He does so after his daughter Afia (Meryl Fernandes) discovers the truth and threatens to tell all.
In a twist, however, Zainab soon decides to put the past behind her and tells Yusef that she wants to marry him the next day.
Wadia told Inside Soap of the latest story twists: "He tells Zainab that he was forced to start the fire by his family. Yusef goes on to explain that he knew it was wrong the minute he lit the match, and that he ran into the house to save her. And by the end of this conversation, she finds herself saying to him, 'Let's get married' - regardless!
"Obviously, it was something I struggled to get my head around. But being burnt in that fire is what they both have in common - and that experience connects them so deeply.
"She recognises that he made a mistake but also decides that the whole thing was probably her fault, because she walked out on their marriage."
EastEnders bosses have previously revealed that Denise Fox (Diane Parish) later interrupts the pair's wedding ceremony and urges Zainab to see sense.
Wadia continued: "It doesn't look like Zainab's going to listen. But as Denise leaves, it's clear she's torn about what to do."
EastEnders fans will discover whether Zainab marries Yusef next week.
