EastEnders villain Yusef Khan takes his plans a step further next month as he asks Zainab Masood to marry him.

When Zainab (Nina Wadia) discovers that Jane and Masood are now an item, Yusef tries to reassure her over their own future - promising that they can tie the knot once she is divorced.

Zainab is taken aback by Yusef's unromantic proposal and warns him not to assume anything, so the scheming doctor quickly realises that he needs to up his game.

Finally making an effort, Yusef (Ace Bhatti) plays their old song and gets down on one knee to pop the question properly. Will Zainab accept Yusef's proposal?

An EastEnders insider commented: "Zainab is shocked when she sees Jane and Masood together and Yusef takes the opportunity to propose. He is surprised that she turns him down, so decides to go all out with a romantic proposal later on. But is Zainab really over Masood?"

Phil Mitchell's stalker hell takes a new twist on EastEnders next week when his mystery tormentor starts taunting him over the death of Kevin Wicks.

The Albert Square hardman is already rattled over the letters he has received over the 1994 car lot fire, but in upcoming episodes, he realises that his enemy knows more about him than he ever thought possible.

Phil (Steve McFadden) and partner Shirley (Linda Henry) both think that Rainie is responsible for the strange goings-on, and they continue to suspect her when another letter arrives at the house with the message, "I know".

However, the couple are soon forced to re-think their theories when Phil receives a text message which warns: "I know you killed Kevin."

EastEnders fans will remember that Kevin died in a road accident at the end of 2007 while driving one of several illegal "cut and shut" cars which were being sold by Phil.

Upon receiving the text about the late car salesman's death, Phil and Shirley realise that Rainie (Tanya Franks) cannot be the culprit.

Immediately panicking, the pair head straight over to see Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), asking him to hand over the old recording of Phil's confession over his part in Kevin's death. However, when Jack tries to find it, he announces that it has been stolen - along with a secret file he was keeping which contained details of all Phil's past misdemeanours.

Phil is shocked by the news, but soon becomes sceptical and wonders whether Jack could be lying about the recording being stolen.

However, when Phil confronts Jack and accuses him of being the stalker, the businessman protests his innocence - insisting that Amy is his one and only concern at the moment.

Phil's paranoia is fuelled when Jack reminds him that he has numerous other enemies who could want their revenge. Is Jack the stalker or is he telling the truth?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday, November 29 and Thursday, December 1 at 7.30pm on BBC One.

With Derek settling into the Square, Jack decides to show him the boxing gym. When Michael arrives, he shakes hands with Derek and as the pair remember each other from years ago, it's clear that Michael is scared of the eldest Branning brother. Rainie seems keen to impress Derek when she turns up to the boxing gym all dressed up. Michael mocks her crush, but gets nervous when Rainie threatens to tell Derek what he has been saying.

At the same time, Roxy goes to see a solicitor for advice on the situation with Amy. She is informed that she needs dirt on Jack and his family if she wants to get Amy back. Sensing that there is something dodgy about Derek, Roxy visits Pat to find out more about him. Pat soon provides what Roxy needs when she reveals Derek's history of violence. Roxy immediately storms round to the boxing gym and threatens Derek and Jack with what she knows. However, Roxy quickly realises that Derek isn't a man to be messed with…

Meanwhile, Lola does a disappearing act ahead of a visit from her new social worker. Keen to make a good impression, Billy convinces Abi to pretend to be Lola. Abi's efforts prove successful and Billy also tells the social worker about Lola's pregnancy. However, when Lola arrives back just as the meeting is coming to an end, Billy's plan is rumbled. The social worker is extremely unimpressed with the deception and questions whether the baby should be allowed to live with Billy and Lola.

Elsewhere, the Brannings try their hardest to support Tanya as she begins her treatment again, but Rainie is finding it hard to forgive

Tuesday

It's the day of the interim hearing over custody of Amy, and an intimidated Roxy decides against using Derek's colourful past as part of her case. Instead, Roxy erects a Christmas tree in Phil's lounge and starts taking pictures of the family in front of it, keen to show that Amy would have an enjoyable Christmas with them. However, Phil and Shirley soon have other issues to worry about as the stalker strikes again. Phil receives a text which says, "I know", while Shirley later sees another strange message on Phil's phone, which asks whether a letter has arrived. She soon finds the letter in question - this also reads, "I know".

In the end, the result of the hearing is that Jack wins custody of Amy, but there will be another court date in a month's time to review the situation. As the news sinks in among the Mitchells, Phil receives another mysterious text message which warns, "I know you killed Kevin". Panicking, Phil and Shirley visit Jack and demand the old recording of Phil's confession that he killed Kevin Wicks. When Jack goes to look for it, he discovers that it has been stolen - along with a file containing details of Phil's past misdeeds…

Meanwhile, as Masood and Zainab's divorce papers arrive, Yusef starts making plans for the future - encouraging Zainab to start a new life with him in Karachi. Knowing that Zainab would never leave Yasmin, Yusef tries to convince Amira that she should also move to Karachi with Syed and the baby. Amira is reluctant until Yusef suggests that Syed would reunite with her if he escaped the distractions of Walford. When Amira suggests moving away to Syed, he starts to consider the option himself - believing he could have a better quality of life there. Syed goes to find Jane and asks one last time whether Christian is coming back. However, Jane informs him that he needs to move on from Christian now.

Elsewhere, Billy asks Roxy's solicitor what he should do about Lola and the social worker, while Heather and Denise arrive at Jack's flat and discover that Rainie and Derek have slept together

Thursday

Zainab opens her curtains and spots Masood and Jane kissing across the Square. Hurt to see that the pair are an item, Zainab tells Yusef that she wants to go to Pakistan with him. When Yusef learns of Masood and Jane's romance, he assures her of their own future - promising that they can get married once her divorce is finalised. However, Zainab is not impressed by the unromantic proposal and warns Yusef not to make any assumptions. Later, though, she tries to hurt Masood by boasting about the proposal.

When Zainab returns home, she finds Yusef playing their song from years ago. He goes all-out with a romantic proposal, and an overjoyed Zainab says yes. The only obstacle for Yusef now is Tamwar, who does not want to go to Pakistan and is angry over the engagement. Afia tries to convince him that moving away would be for the best, but Tamwar stands firm. When Zainab sees how upset Tamwar is, she starts to have second thoughts about the engagement and planned move. However, Zainab's doubts lead to a furious Yusef slapping her - leaving her in deep shock…

Meanwhile, Phil receives another anonymous letter - this one is sprawled in grease and contains the message, "Getting warmer". Phil suspects that Jack is lying about the file being stolen, so he ransacks his apartment trying to find it. However, Phil is caught out when Jack arrives back and catches him in the act. Later, Jack confronts Phil - insisting that he is not behind the mysterious messages as his only priority is Amy. Jack is quick to remind Phil that he has numerous other enemies who could be responsible, which fuels his paranoia.

Elsewhere, Alfie buys some dodgy washing machines from Derek in a bid to raise enough cash to buy The Vic.

Friday

Today is Yusef's birthday and while he is out for a run, he is stopped by Tariq, who has found out about his engagement to Zainab. Keen to ensure that Tariq doesn't cause any trouble, Yusef tells him that he has a proposition and they should meet later. Yusef is soon pleased when Zainab throws a surprise birthday party for him, assuring him that she will be proud to be his wife when they're in Pakistan together. When Yusef meets Tariq, he offers him the Argee Bhajee as a bribe to keep quiet about the engagement. However, an unknowing Afia later lets slip to Tariq that the restaurant belongs to her and Tamwar - not her father.

At the same time, Syed has a meeting with the bank about his business proposal, but he is ultimately turned down. When Amira suggests that he should find a private investor instead, Syed decides to go to Janine for help and is thrilled when she accepts his idea.

Meanwhile, Derek offers to help Janine to get rid of squatters who are living in one of her properties. Michael warns her against getting involved with Derek, but she ignores him and is pleased when Derek's methods prove successful - although he declines to reveal exactly what he did. When Derek tells Janine how he used to taunt Michael when they knew each other years ago, her feelings for Michael grow and she texts him to say that she loves him. Michael then tells Janine that he's going to marry her one of these days.

Elsewhere, Alfie asks Tyler and Anthony to help sell the fridges in order to make more money.

EastEnders villain Yusef Khan fears that his plans could be ruined next week as his cousin Tariq makes an unexpected return to Albert Square.

When Zainab (Nina Wadia (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/celebrities/nina-wadia/)) agrees to marry Yusef, news of the engagement soon reaches Tariq and he turns up in Walford to make his disapproval known.

Tariq corners Yusef (Ace Bhatti (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/celebrities/ace-bhatti/)) while the scheming doctor is out jogging on his birthday, immediately warning him that his family will not be pleased over his reunion with Zainab.

Desperate for Tariq to keep quiet, Yusef arranges to meet up with him later - promising that they can come up with a solution that is beneficial to both parties.

When the two men meet, Yusef desperately tries to bribe Tariq - promising that he can have the Argee Bhajee as soon as the wedding is over.

Tariq is satisfied by Yusef's offer and agrees not to rock the boat, but he soon realises that all isn't as it seems when he has a private chat with Afia (Meryl Fernandes (http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/celebrities/meryl-fernandes/)).

Afia inadvertently reveals to Tariq that the restaurant actually belongs to her and Tamwar rather than her father, making Yusef's offer worthless. How will Tariq react?
