Coming up in Emmerdale, Ashley Thomas fears for the future of his marriage as he begins to suspect that Laurel is having an affair with Marlon.

Ashley (John Middleton) finally realises that something is amiss between the guilty pair in forthcoming episodes, so he decides to test the waters with Laurel by suggesting that they could renew their wedding vows. Laurel is shocked by the idea and Ashley knows quite well what's preventing her enthusiasm.

When Marlon hears that Ashley wants a second wedding, he's appalled and decides to issue Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) with an ultimatum. Marlon declares that Laurel can either stay with Ashley and make the vows, or she can leave to be with him.

The next day, Marlon tells Laurel that he'll be at a hotel that night if she wants to be with him properly. Laurel realises the enormity of what he's asking with a mixture of excitement and fear, before ultimately agreeing to meet him there.

When Ashley returns home and finds Laurel dressed to go out, she tells him that she's meeting a friend who's having problems with her husband.

However, Ashley doesn't believe his wife and his worst fears are confirmed when he discovers that Marlon has the night off work. Is it curtains for Laurel and Ashley?


These scenes air on Wednesday, November 16 at 7pm on ITV1.

Monday

Moira has packed a suitcase and tells John that she'll stay at the B&B tonight, then go to her mum's tomorrow. She tells the kids that there's nothing to worry about, but they know how strained things have been between them. Holly's frustrated and heads off when John won't tell her what's going on.

Soon afterwards, John and Adam head off to the pub together, where they bump into Katie and Declan - who have been to Mia's funeral. Declan has a go at Adam and blames him for Mia's death, so John squares up to him. They shove one another, so Katie and Adam are forced to get in between them.

Meanwhile, Ashley has a go at Marlon when he makes a joke about God. Back home, Ashley tells Sandy that he might be right about Laurel and Marlon having an affair, but he wants to deal with it in his own way. He later apologises to Marlon, but his fears are realised when Laurel's phone rings and he sees it's Marlon. Laurel is shocked when Ashley suggests they renew their wedding vows and he knows what's preventing her enthusiasm.

Elsewhere, Ali turns down an opportunity to go out for tea with Dan and the kids, while Val starts to think about adopting Amy again.

Tuesday

Ashley visits Laurel at the factory, wanting to take her out for tea so they can talk about the vow renewal, leaving her pressured. Later, at The Woolpack, Laurel says that she's happy as they are and doesn't see why renewing their vows would change things. However, she sees how much it means to him and says she hasn't made up her mind yet.

Later, Marlon is sickened when Laurel explains what their discussion was about. Laurel is shocked when Marlon says he wants all or nothing - that she either stays with Ashley and makes the vows, or leaves to be with him…

Meanwhile, Adam tells Holly about John and Declan almost fighting and she heads out, needing to talk to Moira about what's going on. Outside the garage, Holly asks Cain if he's seen Moira and is confused when an angry John pulls up and instructs her to get in the car. Later, John's not in the mood to talk when he realises Diane knows about Moira's affair.

Elsewhere, Amy has a midwife appointment and sets the adoption ball rolling, while Aaron agrees to a night in town with Adam.

Wednesday

Hour-long episode


Marlon tells Laurel that he'll be at the Wood Park Hotel tonight if she wants to be with him properly. Laurel realises the enormity of what he's asking with a mixture of excitement and fear. Later, Ashley's puzzled as he sees a taxi outside Mulberry and enters the house to find Laurel dressed to go out. She tells Ashley that she's meeting a friend who's having problems with her husband. Ashley's devastated as his worst fears are confirmed when he discovers Marlon has the night off.


Later, Laurel enters the hotel room that Marlon has booked for them and he takes her in his arms. Reality begins to hit home when Marlon talks about where they'll live, and Laurel's full of doubt. She panics about losing Gabby and tells Marlon she can't lose her kids. Marlon fails to persuade her that they could make things work and he's heartbroken when she goes. When Laurel returns home, Ashley senses that she's only back out of duty.


Meanwhile, Rishi and Georgia arrive at Jai's to go through wedding plans. Georgia and Rishi are impressed by Charity's honesty when she mentions her failed attempts at marriage. Soon afterwards, in the pub, Priya enters with shopping bags of wedding outfits. Cain takes a bill out of her handbag while she's in the ladies and winds Jai up about his sister when he comes looking for her.

Later, Georgia suggests that Priya should take over Gennie's role at the factory, but Jai and Nikhil refuse. Georgia then suggests that she could do it instead. Their faces fall and Gennie's annoyed as she's forced into training her, repeatedly being called 'Ginny' by Georgia.

Elsewhere, Amy is in turmoil as she continues to hide her pregnancy, while Debbie's knocked for six when Sarah brings down a picture she's drawn of herself in heaven.


Thursday

Andy and Debbie head to the clinic for their appointment. When they arrive, they're shocked and dismayed as the consultant explains that they won't be offering treatment as there are concerns about their relationship and the family history. A determined Debbie questions the decision as Andy admits they're not together but the baby would be loved. However, it's no use and the pair are left devastated.

Back at Tug Ghyll, Debbie tells everyone the bad news and snaps at Charity, saying the baby was Sarah's only hope. Charity suggests that they still have hope finding a donor, but Debbie has a go at her, wanting her to leave. Soon afterwards, Alicia comforts Andy, who can't hold back his emotions.

Meanwhile, Jai and Nikhil are concerned when Georgia tells them that she and Rishi have been burgled. Rishi later reveals that jewellery was stolen from their bedroom, leaving Jai alarmed.

Elsewhere, Ashley struggles to hide his anguish as he continues to suspect that Laurel and Marlon are having an affair.

Debbie tries to explain the current situation to Sarah and is determined to stay upbeat. Soon afterwards, Debbie begins to argue with Andy, blaming him for not being able to get IVF. Chas gets between them and Andy storms out, leaving Debbie furious.

Later, Cameron moves his things back to Debbie's, suggesting that they could go out for a drink. However, Debbie declines as she's researching ways to extend Sarah's life on the internet. Soon afterwards, Debbie wants to talk to Andy and apologises for earlier. He's in shock when she suggests they could have another baby without IVF as they can get kits off the internet.

Meanwhile, Cain flirts with Priya but is annoyed when she says that she's helping to plan the wedding and Charity's told her all about him. Later, Nikhil tries to hide his annoyance when Jai suggests that their parents could stay with them. As Gennie prepares to leave the factory, she tells Nikhil that it wasn't all bad working there. Nikhil wishes Gennie luck.

Elsewhere, Ashley forces a smile when Laurel says yes to the vow renewal, while Brenda's rather taken by Rishi.


Friday

Gennie is nervous as she heads for her interview. She later visits the café and unenthusiastically tells Brenda and Bob that she got the job. Georgia overhears and congratulates her, but she mouths off about Gennie back at the factory, wondering how she got the job and why Nikhil's interested in her. However, Nikhil tells Georgia a few home truths and has a go at her for disrespecting Gennie.

Later, in the pub, Gennie snaps at Nicky for being spiteful towards Nikhil. However, Nicky tells Gennie that he loves her. Gennie seems torn as she leaves with Nicky, while Jai despairs over the situation.

Meanwhile, Andy agrees to have a baby with Debbie but worries Alicia won't understand. Andy later loses the opportunity to talk to Alicia properly.

Elsewhere, Ashley's uncomfortable over Laurel's easy deception as she's enthusiastic about the vow renewal plans, while Cain continues to flirt with Priya.
