Monday

Kirk takes Schmeichel to the vets, while Chesney heads to the crematorium, where a forlorn Fiz is handcuffed to a guard. Sally's incensed to hear that people are paying tribute to John and leaves work with a plan in mind. The mood of the congregation is strained and when Sally storms in denouncing them for commemorating a murderer, Fiz loses her rag.

Back at the factory, a concerned Frank calms Sally, while Fiz endures the rest of the service with a mixture of love and hate, relief and anguish. Later, Chesney's heartbroken as she's bundled into the van and taken back to prison. When he arrives home, there's more bad news - Schmeichel is seriously ill…

Meanwhile, the factory staff have worked all night and the order's complete, leaving Michelle unable to tell them that there's no more work. Seeing her desperation, Peter and Ciaran suggest that Nick could help her - he knows the industry, has contacts and could give her a kick-start. But will Nick agree?

Elsewhere, Matt discovers that Chris hasn't told Cheryl about his good news, and when Brian loses his speaker for safety awareness day in school, Eileen offers to call a friend who's a fireman - Paul!

Chesney refuses to accept that his dog is dying and won't hear of having him put down. Instead, he insists the vet tries an expensive operation to prolong his life. But with no money to even pay off the council, can Ches afford the op?

At the same time, Katy's upset about the rent arrears and when she opens a letter mentioning eviction, Owen offers financial help. Knowing how Chesney reacted last time, will Katy accept?

Meanwhile, when Russ tells Leanne and Simon that his mum and dad are getting back together, Leanne's surprised and confronts Cheryl. Will Cheryl come clean?

Elsewhere, Nick gives Michelle a crash course in running the factory and sets up a meeting with one of his old contacts; Ciaran books the church for the wedding; Fiz faces up to the grim realities of prison life; while Brian brings Paul to the pub after he saved his day at school.

Thursday

Cheryl's feeling guilty, but Lloyd reads it as concern and decides to do his bit to support Chris by collecting him from the hospital. But when he arrives, there's no sign of Chris and the receptionist knows nothing of his appointment. Will alarm bells start ringing for Lloyd?

At the same time, Cheryl confides in Leanne, who urges her to come clean to Lloyd. Will Cheryl heed her advice?

Meanwhile, Katy's upset to hear that Ches is planning an expensive op for Schmeichel when they still haven't paid off the council. Insisting it's time they accept help, she leads Ches to Owen, who offers money to pay the rent. Ches accepts and Katy's relief is palpable, but as he looks at his dog, his desperation returns.

Elsewhere, Eileen has a heart-to-heart with Paul and can see that he needs a friend, and while Michelle flies high at the factory, Ciaran is handed the wedding brochures.

Friday

As Lloyd questions Chris about his appointment, the builder is uncomfortable and Lloyd's suspicions grow. Paying a visit to Dr Matt, Lloyd acts concerned, but while Matt's thrown to hear that Chris is telling people he's dying, he doesn't give anything away.

Later, Chris is fuming when Matt confronts him over his lies and accuses Lloyd of meddling. During a heated exchange, Lloyd reveals his suspicions. But when Cheryl walks in on the row, Chris drops a bombshell of his own.

Meanwhile, Paul calls Eileen at work and explains that Lesley has gone missing. Eileen's calm as they come up with a list and work through it, eventually finding a confused Lesley. Paul can't thank Eileen enough, but will work be so understanding?

Elsewhere, Katy goes to pay the rent but she's horrified to discover that the money is no longer in her purse; Gary heads to the cenotaph for Remembrance Day with Quinny's parents; while Kirsty's unimpressed when she spots Tina walking round Tyrone's house in only a towel.

As Lloyd's world comes crashing down, Cheryl's fuming with Chris for blurting out the news of their affair like this. In the pub, Lloyd sadly reflects that he's lost the love of his life but Steve tells him to fight for her.

Back at the house, Lloyd lays his heart on the line, telling Cheryl that he's desperate not to lose her and can forgive what's happened with Chris. But is that what Cheryl wants?

Meanwhile, Schmeichel's op hasn't worked and Ches is so devastated that Katy can't bring herself to shout at him. Owen can't give them any more money and when Ches reveals that he wants to try another op, she's stunned as they still haven't paid the rent. Katy urges Ches to see that he has other responsibilities now, but will she be able to get through to him?

Elsewhere, Eileen struggles to resist Paul; Kirsty forces Tyrone to ask Tina not to walk round the house in a towel; while UFO fanatic Brian sets up watch on the Red Rec with Julie, but Tommy thinks they're nuts.

Coronation Street star Holly Quin-Ankrah has admitted that her character Cheryl Gray will be disgusted and distraught when she discovers the lies of her on-off partner Chris.

Chris (Will Thorp) has recently been pretending to be seriously ill in an attempt to win back Cheryl from Lloyd Mullaney, keeping quiet over the fact that his brain tumour has actually receded.

The game is up for Chris at the end of next week when a doctor inadvertently reveals the truth to Cheryl at the hospital. However, by this point, Cheryl has already dumped Lloyd (Craig Charles) in favour of Chris.

Quin-Ankrah told All About Soap of the plot climax: "She's shocked to discover the tumour has been shrinking and that he should make a full recovery. She's pledged her future to him based on his illness and it's been a huge lie. She can't believe Chris could sink so low.

"The thing that appals her the most is that he's lied to Russ - she thinks that's unforgivable. At that point, Cheryl knows she's lost everything and has made a huge mistake."

The actress added that she believes Cheryl is not a bad person at heart despite her recent behaviour.

She said: "Cheryl is a good person really. I know that she's deeply upset Lloyd, but she was lied to herself and, as a result of that, she's been left with no-one in her life."

Coronation Street continues tonight at 8.30pm on ITV1.

Coronation Street's Lloyd Mullaney faces heartbreak as he learns of Cheryl's affair in tonight's double bill of the soap.

Lloyd (Craig Charles) discovers the truth as he makes the decision to confront bad boy Chris with his suspicions, accusing him of lying over his illness.

When Cheryl walks in on the pair arguing in the cab office, Chris (Will Thorp) declares that it's time to come clean - confessing that he has been dishonest but only about the fact that he and Cheryl are back together.

Lloyd is devastated by what he's hearing and decides that his original theory must have been wrong. However, the hurt doesn't end there as Cheryl (Holly Quin-Ankrah) confesses that she's fallen back in love with her ex. How will Lloyd react?

Coronation Street airs tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.

Coronation Street's Lloyd Mullaney is heading for a "proper breakdown", according to actor Craig Charles.
Craig, who plays the cabbie, told the ITV1 soap's official website that his character loses it when he finds out his girlfriend Cheryl has been seeing her ex-husband Chris behind his back.
He said: "Things are going to get a lot worse. He's going to have a proper breakdown, he's taken this really badly."
But the actor added that Chris has "made a rod for his own back" because Lloyd is close to discovering he's faking his brain tumour.
"Chris is still pretending to be ill, he's still shaving his head... he's a dirty, cheating, nasty piece of work," said Craig.
Lloyd gets suspicious when Chris turns down an offer of a lift to a hospital appointment. He goes to pick him up anyway, and learns that there was no such appointment. Lloyd then makes an appointment with his own GP to try to get more information about Chris but gets "short shrift" due to patient confidentiality.
Craig said: "Chris has made a rod for his own back because at some stage it'll come out that there's nothing wrong with him and who knows what's going to happen after that? Will Cheryl come crying back to Lloyd? Will Lloyd take her back? Hey, watch this space."
