EastEnders' Jane Beale will agree to become a practising Muslim as she embarks on a relationship with Masood Ahmed in a forthcoming storyline, a report has claimed.

Jane returns to Walford next month as actress Laurie Brett, who plays her, has now completed her maternity leave following the arrival of her baby daughter Erin.

After making her Albert Square comeback, Jane is expected to make a go of things with Masood. The pair have had feelings for each other for some time, and recently divorced their respective partners Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Zainab (Nina Wadia).

When Masood (Nitin Ganatra) insists that Jane must convert to Islam if they are to be together, she agrees to his wishes, according to the Daily Star.

An EastEnders source told the newspaper: "She's determined to do whatever it takes to be with him. He cares and respects her more than Ian ever did.

"For the first time she's really happy and she doesn't want to do anything to jeopardise that. The only thing she finds really tough is giving up the booze."

Ian will propose to returnee Mandy Salter (Nicola Stapleton) later this week, while Zainab has recently grown closer to her scheming ex Yusef Khan (Ace Bhatti).

EastEnders' Jane Beale will make a hasty vow to become a practising Muslim as she embarks on a relationship with Masood Ahmed in a forthcoming storyline, reports have revealed.

Jane returns to Walford next month as actress Laurie Brett, who plays her, has now completed her maternity leave following the arrival of her baby daughter Erin.

After making her Walford comeback, Jane will decide to make a go of things with Masood, according to the Daily Star. The pair have had feelings for each other for some time, and recently divorced their respective partners Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Zainab (Nina Wadia).

In a further twist, Jane will also make an unexpected promise to convert to Islam in order to fully commit to Masood (Nitin Ganatra).

An EastEnders insider told Digital Spy: "Jane makes her vow when Ian tells her that she'll have to convert if she ever wants to marry Masood in the future. Not wanting Ian to have the upper hand, she promises to do just that.

"After a day or so, however, she decides not to go through with it as she made the promise in the heat of the moment and doesn't want to suddenly change her religion."
