Coming up in Emmerdale, Hazel becomes increasingly worried about Aaron's state of mind as his dark storyline continues.

When Hazel catches up with Aaron at Jackson's grave, she's unsuccessful in her latest attempt to reach out to him. However, she can sense that something is wrong with the young mechanic, who's desperately trying to fight the urge to self-harm.

Aaron is more friendly with Hazel when they see each other at the pub later in the day, but she remains unconvinced that all is well with him.

Keen to re-establish her connection with Aaron, Hazel asks him to help her with her shopping bags when she sees him the next day, but he hates being back in the house where Jackson died and angrily tells her that he never wants to see her again.

Frustrated that Aaron is blowing hot and cold, Hazel follows him to the garage - but she's unprepared for the extent of his fury as he loses control, threatens her and smashes a wrench into a car…

These scenes air on Thursday, September 29 at 7pm on ITV1.

Monday

Lisa tells Val that she doesn't want Amy hanging out with Belle anymore, but Val is protective in her response and Amy overhears through an open window. Zak tries to explain to Amy how Lisa feels, but he thanks her for being there for Belle. Soon afterwards, Victoria apologises about telling Alex but Amy doesn't forgive her.

Later, Amy is secretly thrilled when Belle insists that she is going to help her. When David arrives back in the village, Amy is keen to chat to him - leaving Belle with a theory as to the identity of the baby's father…

Meanwhile, at the Bartons' farm, it's all systems go to meet the deadline. Declan goes to wind John up about his repayment being due after admitting to Nicola that he was behind the inspection. At last, the order is completed and John wants to celebrate. Moira is still worried and puts on a brave face, but she later opens up to Diane about the extent of the work and debt after Declan has goaded John in the pub.

Elsewhere, Nikhil struggles to deal with his jealousy when he sees Nicky and Gennie snuggled up together in the pub, while Hazel realises that she might need a lodger as the rent for Dale Head has gone up - how will she react when Bob suggests that he could move in?

Tuesday

John and Moira try to hide their worries from the children about paying the latest instalment to Declan. At the same time, Adam tries to reason with Declan and his words initially seem to strike a chord, but the businessman ultimately stands firm. Soon afterwards, Moira struggles to hold it together when she hears from Declan that Adam has been to see him off his own back.

Later, Andy agrees to let John use his vehicle so he can sell his 4x4 to pay Declan. Declan seems almost disappointed when John arrives at Home Farm and makes the payment on time. It seems that Declan is hopeful that next month the Bartons will fail, and Moira insists that John must address the problem. John soon admits defeat and tells Alex that they will have to lay him off and reduce Andy's hours forthwith.

Meanwhile, Bob goes to see Hazel to make sure that she is clear he wants to move in just as a mate. However, Hazel tells him that she's in a bad place at the moment. Later, Hazel shares her concerns about Bob moving in to Diane, who reassures her. Bob is thrilled when Hazel changes her mind and tells him that he can move his stuff in.

Elsewhere, Jimmy shows Nicola their relationship has changed when he rebukes her for chipping in on a private meeting between him and Nikhil, while Holly asks Nikhil for her job back.

Wednesday

Andy sticks up for John when Alex wants to have a go about losing his job, pointing out that the person to blame is Declan. However, events soon take a twist when Declan offers Andy a job as estate manager. Andy is torn because he needs the money, but he does not like the idea of working for Declan or his underhand ways. Andy's decision is made harder when John tells him how much it means to have his support.

In the pub, Victoria has a go at Declan as Alex might have to move away from Emmerdale to find work. At the same time, Andy chats to Katie about his situation and she advises him to think about himself. Moira is conflicted when Declan makes her an underhand offer to buy the farm back and advises her to persuade John to get out while it still has a value…

Meanwhile, Hazel gets a pang of guilt as Aaron watches Bob move into her house. Hazel is unable to reach Aaron when she tries to speak to him at Jackson's grave. Hazel is worried but tries to cover it for the sake of Bob and the twins. Aaron is a little more friendly with Hazel in the pub, but she is unconvinced that all is well.

Elsewhere, Nicola is struggling at not getting her own way and it becomes clear that it'll take time for her to get used to the new Jimmy.

Thursday

Chas feels positive when Aaron agrees to have breakfast offered by Diane. Soon afterwards, Hazel is thrown by Aaron blowing hot and cold, but she asks him to help her in with her shopping bags. However, Aaron hates being in the house and tells Hazel that he never wants to see her again. Hazel refuses to leave Aaron and goes to talk to him at the garage, where he threatens her and smashes the wrench into the car as he begins to lose control.

Later, Aaron does not want to be questioned by Chas about the incident with Hazel. Chas goes to his room to sort things out and is taken aback to see blood on Aaron's shirt…

Meanwhile, John is shocked when Alex tells him that Andy is now working for Declan. Alex tries to make him feel better by offering to keep working at the farm for free, but things get worse for John when Andy tells him that he won't be able to do any hours for him and he needs his vehicle back. Later, Declan goads an exhausted John in the pub, and he soon sees Moira's hesitation when she tells him that they won't sell.

Elsewhere, Carl is pleased to be home, while Laurel is uncomfortable when she sees Marlon and Rachel banter playfully.

Chas reels when she lifts up Aaron's shirt and sees the cuts that he has made on his body. Shell-shocked and wanting to help, Chas calls for Paddy and can't hold back the tears. She feels bad telling Paddy but needs his support.

Later, Aaron arrives back with more blood on his shirt and tells Chas that he won't stop self-harming. Chas is terrified by his controlled manner.

Meanwhile, Diane teases Marlon about Rachel, while Laurel is clearly uncomfortable and won't look at Marlon. Marlon tries to talk to Laurel but she says she is tired and leaves him frustrated.

Elsewhere, Moira tells John about Declan's offer to buy the farm; Alicia agrees to go on a date with Carl; Victoria is thrilled when Alex says that he will stay in the village for her; while Andy feigns disinterest when David tells him that Alicia is seeing Carl.

Friday
Chas is barely holding it together as Aaron leaves for work acting as though nothing is wrong. Paddy sits Aaron down and insists that he is going to talk to him, but Aaron is not receptive and Chas worries it will make things worse.

Chas feels helpless after Paddy has talked to Aaron, who still refuses to stop self-harming. Chas clings to Aaron when he takes a knife off her after she threatens to harm herself.

Meanwhile, Andy reminds Alex that they have rent to pay as Victoria looks through the paper for jobs. Later, Alex comes into the pub looking smart to pick up an intrigued Victoria. Alex and Victoria meet an estate agent outside Brook Cottage, and Alex tells the agent that it will be a cash sale if they like the property. Victoria is confused, but when the estate agent leaves, Alex vanishes and suddenly appears to open the front door - he's got them a place to live. Victoria is tempted when Alex tells her about squatters' rights.

Elsewhere, Jai is back but uneasy when Charity still presses to meet his parents; Alicia continues to date Carl but Andy hasn't told Sarah about the recent split; Laurel tells Marlon that Rachel really likes him; and Nikhil is suspicious of Jai when he says that his mum knows about the wedding.

Emmerdale's Barton family begin to panic due to the pressure of their ongoing financial struggles in tonight's episode of the soap.

As the Bartons desperately try to keep the supermarket deal on track and meet Declan's latest deadline, Adam (Adam Thomas) pays a visit to the Home Farm boss and begs him to stop persecuting the family. However, he's left disappointed when Declan (Jason Merrells) vows to continue with his ruthless behaviour.

Later, John (James Thornton) beats the odds and manages to make the payment to Declan as scheduled. However, he's given food for thought when Moira (Natalie J Robb) points out that they've only delayed the problem until next month.

John eventually decides that Moira is right and soon drops more bombshells on the workers, telling Alex (Kurtis Stacey) that they'll have to lay him off and informing Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) that he'll have to work reduced hours. How will they react to the news?

"How will they react to the news?"

well Alex will mumble and mumble and moan, but we wont quite make out what he is saying...and Andy will get angry and make his bisceps flex as per the incredible hulk. Then he'll point out that Sarah is ill...
