David Hasselhoff has allegedly been dropped from the Britain's Got Talent panel.

The US actor and popstar joined the judging lineup this year, alongside Michael McIntyre and Amanda Holden.

Although ratings remained strong for the ITV1 reality show, Hasselhoff's role came under scrutiny from the tabloids as they criticised the new-look panel for lacking chemistry.

Simon Cowell and ITV have apparently now decided to axe the Baywatch star because he lacked a "connection with the acts", reports The Sun.

Michael McIntyre and Amanda Holden are expected to remain for the 2012 series.

Louis Walsh has previously been tipped to take over the Britain's Got Talent spot full-time after guest stints on the show in 2010 and earlier this year.

ITV reps have insisted that it is "too soon" to confirm the judging panel for the next series.

David Walliams could replace David Hasselhoff on the Britain's Got Talent judging panel, according to a report.

It has been claimed that the Baywatch star won't return for the next series of the ITV1 show next year. Hasselhoff joined the panel earlier this year alongside Michael McIntyre and Amanda Holden.

The 59-year-old's apparent poor "connection with the acts" led to Simon Cowell and ITV deciding to replace him.

Comedian Walliams is among those heavily tipped to join the show, The Mirror reports. Amanda Holden's future on the programme also remains unknown, after the actress announced her pregnancy last week.

"Viewing figures were a little disappointing over the whole of the last series," an insider told the paper. "Producers want a younger, fresher judging panel. Given that the Hoff had a few problems understanding the British accent, Simon thinks it wise to employ a Brit.

"James Corden would be great as he and Michael have a fantastic rapport, but James wants to focus on his acting. David Walliams was approached before but turned it down. But now he's happily settled, he is keen to explore new work opportunities. And in addition, Simon and he are good friends."

The source continued: "And if Amanda decides to concentrate on motherhood, Billie Piper would be a fantastic replacement. They're also looking at up-and-coming stars like Jessie J, who'd add a youthful element."

An ITV insider commented: "Simon is still on holiday and hasn't given the new panel much thought. We're in the midst of X Factor and his new show Red or Black? is about to launch. The focus is very much on these two shows."

It looks as though Simon Cowell is once again holding out an olive branch to Cheryl Cole following reports that he wants to offer the star a job as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

With their relationship strained ever since Cheryl's controversial sacking on the X Factor USA back in May, Si has reportedly tried to do everything he can to regain his friendship with the star, going as far as increasing her wage by double for the UK X Factor and giving her his dressing room!

Admitting that he has already offered Cheryl the job on BGT before to The Daily Record, the media mogul said: "Cheryl for Britain's Got Talent? That could work. She was offered BGT before X Factor but two days before, she got cold feet and turned it down.

"Would she do BGT now? Well, we've got to start talking first of all ..."

Michael McIntyre has left Britain's Got Talent.

The comedian served as a judge on this year's run of the ITV competition opposite Amanda Holden, David Hasselhoff and - for the live shows - Simon Cowell.

ITV has now confirmed that McIntyre will not return for a second series. He is believed to have quit in order to focus on a UK stand-up tour.

"We wish him all the best and look forward to working with him again," an ITV spokesman said, as revealed by The Mirror reporter Mark Jefferies.

McIntyre is quoted by The Sun as saying: "I absolutely loved being a judge but have been itching to get back on stage myself. I wish the show and production team every success."

A source added: "Michael has been weighing it up for a while as he does like the show and enjoyed being on the panel, but his first love is comedy and he wanted to embark on a tour and concentrate on that."

McIntyre joined Britain's Got Talent at the end of 2010. It is not yet known who will replace the Comedy Roadshow star on the programme.

It was recently alleged that fellow judge Hasselhoff's position on the ITV1 talent show was under threat, although Cowell later insisted that no decisions have been made on the make-up of next year's panel.

Little Britain's David Walliams has been linked with the talent contest in recent weeks.

I liked Michael, sad to see him go. But David Walliams would be a good replacement :)

Britain's Got Talent has begun its talent search for the 2012 series.

Simon Cowell's ITV1 reality show, which launched the careers of Diversity, Susan Boyle and Spelbound, is on the hunt for acts with anything they consider a special talent.

Singers, dancers, comics, jugglers, magicians and stunt acts are all welcome to apply. The 2011 winner was Scottish singer Jai McDowall, who scooped £100,000 and a spot on the Royal Variety Show later this year.

Applicants wanting more details should go to www.itv.com/talent.

A source told Digital Spy: "The eyes of the world will be on Great Britain in 2012 and Britain's Got Talent wants to showcase what the country has to offer.

"As always, the show wants acts - no matter how unusual - to take on the judges and the dreaded buzzers for the chance to win a life-changing prize."

Ant & Dec will be back to host the show for the sixth run and Amanda Holden is expected to return as one of the three judges.

Michael McIntyre confirmed earlier this week that he will not be returning for a second series on the judging panel. David Hasselhoff is also rumoured to be leaving the programme.

Dannii Minogue is set to make a sensational return to British TV as a judge on *Britain’s Got Talent.

The Australian star, a popular judge on X Factor, has been told by show bosses she’s wanted on the panel, and contracts and schedules are currently being organised.

Dannii will sit on a new-look panel that includes comedian David Walliams when auditions for the revamped ITV show begin in January.

It will be Kylie’s sister’s first *appearance on British TV screens since she quit X *Factor earlier this year.

Long-time judge Amanda Holden will return to the BGT panel for the live shows in April, but she will miss the auditions because she’s due to give birth at the start of the year – just days before *filming starts.

Dannii, 40, and David, also 40, will replace last year’s judges Michael McIntyre, who quit, and Baywatch legend David Hasselhoff, who has been given the boot.

And a number of stars will cover for Amanda during the *audition rounds. An ITV source revealed: “Everybody is really excited about the new line-up. David was confirmed this week and the producers think it’s the best yet.

“He’s a real favourite with the nation and Dannii is hugely popular. It’s *exciting for her to be coming back.”

Dannii and husband Kris Smith

Little Britain star David admitted he would consider a role on BGT earlier this month, saying: “I’d think about it. But the chemistry with the other judges would have to be right.

LAUGH

“Ant and Dec are the stars of that show for me. I’d love to work with them again – I wrote for them years ago and they’re such a laugh.”

But sources close to Dannii say the star needs to have her filming schedule set in stone within days to avoid *a reapeat of the problems which saw her fail to return for this year’s series of X Factor. The singer and fashion designer needs to make her plans fit around care for her 14-month-old son Ethan and has told bosses she needs to know the full details within the next few weeks.

If she doesn’t then she will sign for Australia’s Got Talent and won’t be available for the UK show.

“Dannii has said yes and they’re happy that she will do it,” said the source. “They’ve said they want her.

David Walliams and model wife Lara Stone

“But she needs confirmed shooting schedules and dates for the entire series before she packs her bags and lets other opportunities go. It starts shooting in just a few weeks and she does have other offers to think about and consider.

“She doesn’t want what happened last time to happen again. Being a mum she has to plan ahead. It’s as simple as that – Ethan is the priority.

“Dannii was really disappointed not to be able to return to the UK for this year’s X Factor, so she wants to make this work.” BGT is also talking to Ashley Banjo, 23 – frontman of dance troupe *Diversity, who won the show in 2009.

Bosses want him to guest judge for some of Amanda’s *maternity leave – so long as it doesn’t clash with his judging role on Sky One’s Got To Dance.

Contracts are due to be signed *within the next two weeks.

A BGT spokeswoman said: “This is all speculation at the moment.”

FORMER EastEnder Samantha Womack is plotting a major telly comeback as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

The 39-year-old actress — who quit Walford Square over the baby-swap storyline — has been having secret talks with show bosses.

And she's impressed them so much that they've put her on the shortlist to join the new series of the ITV1 talent search.

Last night an insider said: "Samantha is brilliant and the bosses love her. She's hugely popular as ten million people watched her every week on EastEnders — and she's got a fair old mouth on her.

"She's not afraid to call a spade a spade but she also has a down-to-earth approach that producers think will encourage acts.

"We don't just want the judges to slag people off."

The Sun revealed how the Ant and Dec-fronted show, which starts filming judges' rounds in the New Year, is looking for two new judges after David Hasselhoff got the boot and Michael McIntyre quit.

They have cast the net wide and spoken to dozens of big-name potential replacements. The show's third judge, Amanda Holden, is expected to stay but sources say the pregnant star still hasn't been given a firm contract. Last night Amanda, whose baby is due in the New Year, reassured fans, tweeting: "You will all have to be patient re BGT. I am doing it inc auditions!"

Reports had suggested she would sit out the initial auditions because of her pregnancy.

It was also claimed former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue was being lined up for BGT.

But the source said: "Dannii didn't even make the longlist. She's only got a chance if Simon Cowell steps in and gives her the job."

The most likely candidate to join Samantha on the panel is Little Britain funnyman David Walliams who has been looking for new projects after splitting from comedy partner Matt Lucas.

Walliams said recently: "I'd think about it. But the chemistry with the other judges would have to be right. For me, Ant and Dec are the stars of that show. I'd love to work with them again."

Sam announced she was quitting Enders last January, with her final scenes aired in July. We told how she resigned in protest at the far-fetched storyline that saw her character, Ronnie Mitchell, swap her dead baby for Kat Slater's newborn Tommy.

Almost 15,000 viewers complained about the disturbing scenes.

Simon Cowell is to return as a judge on Britain's Got Talent next series, it has been confirmed.

ITV chief executive Adam Crozier made the announcement at a Broadcasting Press Guild lunch today (December 7).

Cowell, who served as a judge in the final week of live shows this year, will return to the next series following the recent exits of judges Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff, both of whom featured on the talent show panel for just one run.

Crozier went on to defend the decision to sign a three-year deal in 2010 for Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor which did not ensure Cowell's participation in the shows.

"It was a very important deal for us in lots of different ways," Crozier said.

"BGT and X Factor are two of the best known and best loved shows but we had only ever had them on annual deals. It was important to put them on a longer-term footing."

It was previously reported that Cowell was planning to rejoin the Britain's Got Talent lineup in a bid to improve viewer ratings.

"Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet," a production insider said at the time. "His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers."

David Walliams, Dannii Minogue and Samantha Womack have all been linked with a spot on the judging panel for next year's Britain's Got Talent.

David Walliams has signed to become a judge on Britain's Got Talent, according to reports.

The Little Britain star is believed to have agreed a £250,000 two-year deal with the ITV show and will join the other judges to begin auditions next week.

Simon Cowell recently confirmed his return as a judge on the next series. Veteran panelist Amanda Holden will also come back, while former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue is said to be in advanced talks.

A source told the Sunday Mirror of Walliams's appointment: "David can't wait to be a judge - it's right up his street.

"He's always been a big fan of BGT and will enjoy embracing the more eccentric side of the show.

"Producers are especially happy they've managed to get him signed up for two years. He's going to be a great asset and will give the show a completely new lease of life."

Simon Cowell has poached Alesha Dixon from Strictly Come Dancing for Britain's Got Talent.

Dixon will join the judging panel on the ailing Saturday night ITV show. The move is seen as a spectacular riposte to revive BGT after Strictly won the ratings batttle with Cowell's other talent show, The X Factor, last season. Cowell believes that 33-year-old Dixon will "bring a lot to the table" in 2012, not only helping to beat the BBC's flagship talent show but also The X Factor.

"She is feisty, opinionated and knows what it is like to be both a competitor and a judge on a hugely popular TV show," he said of Dixon who won Strictly Come Dancing as a celebrity contestant in 2007.

Dixon has said that she is excited to be working with Cowell and the two other BGT judges, David Walliams and Amanda Holden. Cowel has also spoken of his ambitions for BGT which he hopes will find a "better winner" than The X Factor. "It's the year of the Olympics, it's a big year for Britain, we are going to be in the world's spotlight and I want this show to be back in the world's spotlight . . . You want someone who can be a star all over the world."

Simon Cowell has planned a major style change on Britain's Got Talent this year, a report has claimed.

According to the Daily Star, the Syco boss is flying back to the UK this week to speak to judges David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden about their roles on the show.

"Cowell's back and he means business," an insider said.

"The word 'failure' is not in his vocabulary. He will lay down the law."

Cowell, who only appeared on the live shows in 2011, committed to the full 2012 series earlier this month.

Britain's Got Talent suffered a ratings dip last year while Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff were in the lineup.

Myleene Klass and Samantha Womack have reportedly been tipped to guest judge Britain's Got Talent at the London auditions.

A spokesperson for the ITV show confirmed that they are discussing appointing a temporary replacement for Amanda Holden, who is to spend another week in hospital recovering from a number of blood transfusions after the birth of her daughter Hollie on Monday (January 23).

Insiders say that a guest judge is expected to be hired in time for London try-outs on February 6, with Klass and ex-EastEnders actress Womack emerging as frontrunners.

"We always had planned bringing in some special guest judges for when Amanda went off to have the baby," a source told The Mirror.

"We are sticking to three judges [in] Cardiff [this] weekend but we would like someone in the fourth seat by the time we film in London on February 6.

"Amanda knows she is welcome back but the show must go on and we need another judge as soon as possible."

Womack was rumoured to have been considered as one of the replacements for departed judges Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff, though Alesha Dixon and David Walliams ultimately took the roles.

Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant & Dec have already ruled out Alexandra Burke as a potential guest judge, describing her cameo on The X Factor last year as "bloody awful".

Carmen Electra has been confirmed to guest judge Britain's Got Talent.

The Baywatch actress will be joining Simon Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon at auditions in London today (February 6).

The 39-year-old is to be a temporary replacement for Amanda Holden, who is recovering at home following the traumatic birth of her daughter Hollie on January 23.

Holden was said to be "fighting for life" after losing blood and requiring a number of transfusions in the wake of an emergency caesarean.

She is believed to have told Britain's Got Talent producers not to replace her with any more guest judges and will reportedly rejoin the panel in Edinburgh on February 11.

Fans are able to apply for the chance to appear alongside hosts Ant & Dec in the filming of the project, which will be shown as part of the talent show's opening titles.

The event will take place at London's Trafalgar Square on Friday, March 9 at 1pm.

Hopefuls can apply for tickets to the flashmob through Applause Store. Successful applicants will automatically receive tickets to a semi-final show.

Britain's Got Talent will return to ITV1 this spring, with returning judges Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden alongside newcomers David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

ITV have moved Britain’s Got Talent — after it was beaten by new BBC hit The Voice for the first time.

Bosses threw in the towel in the Saturday night ratings battle and decided to switch BGT back in the schedules by 30 minutes.

The move will end a 20-minute overlap between the two shows — when both were on at the same time — which had infuriated fans.

The BBC1 show sneaked ahead of Simon Cowell’s last weekend, snaring an average of 9.5 million viewers compared to 9.1 million.

Before the two shows launched last month, Cowell had said he wanted to “kill the opposition".

A source said: “ITV now realise the overlap didn't kill The Voice but was in fact in danger of bringing BGT down.

“The BBC had always wanted to avoid a clash or an overlap. It didn't do anybody any favours and was annoying viewers.”

From a week tomorrow The Voice — which features celeb coaches including Sir Tom Jones — will air from 7pm as usual.

But BGT, which until now has run from 8pm until 9.15pm, will kick off at 8.30 and end at 9.45pm.

The Voice will also air a week on Sunday for the conclusion of its “battle round”, in which the coaches will each cut five of their acts.

Simon Cowell has booked Tulisa Contostavlos for a guest appearance during Britain's Got Talent.

The N-Dubz star-turned-X Factor judge will perform her debut solo single 'Young' during the ITV1 talent competition's live shows, The Sun reports.

Contostavlos told the paper: "I'm very excited performing my single for the first time on Britain's Got Talent. It's a huge show, with a massive amount of viewers, for my first live solo music performance.

"Of course, Simon will be on the panel watching, so I'm performing in front of the X Factor boss too!"

An insider claimed that Cowell was "excited" to have secured Contostavlos for the show and is keen for her to "hold her head high and put in a storming performance" following the leak of a sex tape featuring her last month.

Cowell defended Contostavlos through the controversy, stating that her X Factor job is safe and adding that he felt "very sorry" for her.

'Young' is released on April 29.

The singer, who rose to fame when she impressed judges and viewers with her first audition performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream' in 2009, has been linked with an appearance on the ITV1 talent show's grand final next month.

The novelty act beat the hot favourites, opera singers Jonathan and Charlotte, amid emotional scenes at the live TV final.

Welsh choir Only Boys Allowed came third.

Now Cowell is planning to fly Pudsey to LA in his luxury jet to launch his film career.

But he refused last night to keep a promise made on an earlier show: “If the dog wins, I’ll dance with it!”

Pudsey and Ashleigh, from Northampton, wowed judges Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams in the final with their routine to the theme of Mission: Impossible. Cowell called them “sensational”.

He added: “You’re one of my favourite ever acts. I adore both of you. You’ve got better and better as the competition’s gone on.”

David Walliams said: “The nation has fallen in love with you and Pudsey.”

Shocked winner Ashleigh said the first thing she she would spend her £500,000 winnings on would be treats for her dog.

She added: “I’m going to buy food for Pudsey and a new bed maybe.” Runners-up Jonathan, 17, and Charlotte, 16, from Essex, had belted out a rousing rendition of The Prayer.

Cowell said: “Your loyalty and friendship has made this act so special.”

Walliams said: “Ever since we saw you on this show you were superstars. It was so classy, so professional. You’re both fantastic.”

But in the end the nation decided that Pudsey really was the dog’s whatsits.

And Cowell, 52, is even installing a luxury KENNEL at his Beverly Hills mansion so his new best friend can stay in style when he flies him out.

He told pals: “He is welcome at my home — I love dogs. And anyone who stays with me stays in luxury.

“I’m more excited about Pudsey than most of the singing acts I’ve found. That little dog is going to become the most famous dog in the world. I genuinely believe he will be warmly received by Hollywood.”

First stop will be a Los Angeles pet beauty salon, where Pudsey will get a makeover alongside canine stars like Uggie from Oscar-winning film The Artist.

Then he will meet top Tinseltown bosses for a film career.

Asked if she thought they would win, modest Ashleigh said: “I had no idea, I am just crying. I just wanted to get to the final and do our best.

“Even if Pudsey does get something wrong we just improvise, we had to improvise so much during that final time!”

She said she can’t wait to fly to LA and help her pet become the “new Lassie”.

She said: “I think Pudsey would just be brilliant at it. As soon as he sees a camera, he’s there waiting to pose.”

The talented pet is already set to be the face of a major dog food brand. His agent Jonathan Shalit is due to sign a deal within weeks. But Cowell reckons that’s just the start — and that his pup star will soon land a lead role. Source: The Sun

BGT RUNNER-UP Jonathan Antoine has vowed to be the biggest BGT star ever — by NEVER losing weight.

The opera singer — 20st and aged 17 — even pledges to tell show boss Simon Cowell where to go if he orders him to slim down.

And he reckons his success will be a slap in the face to bullies who made his life a misery.

Jonathan said he would refuse to improve his appearance — even for a recording contract. He said: “I wouldn’t change for no one — take me or leave me.

“Diets aren’t my style. If Simon said I had to change my image I’d say, ‘No, thank you.’ If he said I had to slim, I’d say, ‘No. It’s a good offer but I am who I am’.”

Jonathan — who dreams of working with blind Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli — has told how bullies drove him to a breakdown.

But he bounced back thanks to Britain’s Got Talent and finished second last night with singing partner Charlotte Jaconelli.

He promised: “If there’s any negativity I’ll take it in my stride. I have good friends and family and I’m a lot happier than I was back then — happier than I’ve ever been.”

The Essex songster — previously in two heavy metal bands — added: “BGT has helped me accept myself.” The singing sensation, backed by opera star Paul Potts, admitted he would have gone “absolutely mental” had he and Charlotte won last night.

Cowell had urged Jonathan to dump Charlotte after hearing their first audition.

Jonathan didn’t — much to his pal’s relief. Charlotte, 16, said: “It did worry me at first. But Jonathan and I are always going to duet together, be that professional or amateur.”

Meanwhile, Jonathan’s FIRST singing partner last night admitted she wished she was still his sidekick. Stephanie Dunne was a classmate when they teamed up at a church concert in 2010.

RYAN O’Shaughnessy has ALREADY written an album, he has revealed.

Dubliner Ryan, 19, wants to release his self-penned love songs to repay his dad for a £500 guitar. He said: “I’ve an album ready, but a lot of unfinished songs.

“So next week I’m going to lock myself away to finish as many as I can.”
