Coming up in Emmerdale, David Metcalfe makes an embarrassing mistake in a fortnight's time as he drunkenly tries to kiss Alicia.

Still heartbroken over Leyla's departure and concerned over the mountain of bills piling up, David is grateful for Alicia's support as she continually gives up her time to make sure he's okay.

Finally reaching a decision over how to sort out his finances, David announces that he's going to get rid of his cleaning business but carry on with the shop - leaving Hannah relieved as it means she won't lose her job.

Later, as David continues drowning his sorrows at the shop, Alicia joins him and expresses sympathy over the mess that Leyla has left him in. However, the situation takes an unexpected turn as David suggests that he may have got involved with the wrong sister, before trying to make a move on Alicia.

These scenes air on Tuesday, August 23 at 7pm on ITV1

Appalled, Alicia pushes David away and angrily orders him to sober up. Will she tell Andy what happened?

Mon 22nd
Ella warns Adam to stay away from her daughter, but Adam doesn't need much persuading to join Mia upstairs at Home Farm. At the same time, Jai is surprised by Declan's reaction when he lets slip that Adam and Mia are back on. Jai then tells Ella what has just happened and she's furious, rushing back to Home Farm.

Soon afterwards, Adam is caught in the house by Declan. However, Mia is confused, wanting to know why her dad's making a big deal out of it. Ella then comes rushing in and soon Ella and Adam are on tenterhooks as they wait to see if Declan will reveal the truth to Mia. When Mia pushes for answers, Declan finally reveals the truth about Adam and Ella's affair…

Meanwhile, a determined Victoria tells Cain that she's going along with them to the clinic to support Amy.

Elsewhere, Debbie thinks that she's expecting a baby but she's crestfallen when she gets a negative pregnancy test result, while David is in despair over his bills and tells Alicia that he might have to sell the shop or the cleaning business.

Tue 23rd


John is furious when Adam tells him what has happened. John says that Adam should leave Mia alone, but the young farmer insists that he loves her. When Adam starts worrying over what Declan will do next, John tries to reassure him that Declan probably has his own problems to think about, but it's clear that he's also concerned.

At the same time, over at Home Farm, Dermot senses trouble when Declan tells him that the two people responsible for hurting Mia will pay. Later, when Ella turns up to speak to her family, Declan wants her to go but Mia suggests that she should stay to explain her actions. Mia then vents her anger at Ella, saying that she never wants to see her again. Before the day is over, Declan calls round at the Bartons' and warns that they will all pay for what has happened…

Meanwhile, Alicia offers David her support as he tries to organise the bills. Later, enjoying the attention from Alicia when she agrees to share a beer, David leans in to kiss her. Appalled, Alicia moves away - telling him to sober up. But will she tell Andy?

Elsewhere, Debbie informs Andy that she and Cameron may be taking Sarah on a visit to Jersey; Amy's upset when Val and Pollard are suspicious over a box of chocolate she gives them as a present; Hannah is relieved when she learns that her job is safe as David is selling the cleaning business and not the shop; and Victoria tells Alex that she wants to move in.

Wed 24th


Declan comforts Mia and tells her that the situation is not her problem anymore, while Jai comes back to Holdgate to find Ella drinking. She makes a move on Jai but he tells her that he's not interested and to get out. Visiting the pub, a drunken Ella lies to Cain that she and Jai have been having a thing together while Charity has been away, and she looks pleased to have caused some damage.

Later, Charity is intrigued when she sees Ella with her suitcase. Jai tells her about the affair between Adam and Ella, but she senses that there's something up with Jai when he heads to Home Farm to see Declan. Will Jai be truthful about Ella's pass?

Meanwhile, an excited Alicia tries to talk to Andy about Spain, but she senses that he's not as up for it as she is. When Andy shares his concerns about not being there for Sarah as a dad, Alicia assures him that she'll back him up and won't rush him - but there are clearly alarm bells ringing.

Elsewhere, David apologises to Alicia for coming onto her and admits that he misses Leyla, while Val and Pollard are concerned about Amy when they see her talking on the phone and sense she's hiding something.


Thur 25th


Declan hands Ella a one-way ticket to Singapore, but she refuses and wants to see Mia. However, she's left humiliated when Mia tells her that she hates her. As the day continues, Mia announces Ella and Adam's affair in front of the entire pub, while a bitter Ella tells Katie that she'll make Declan regret what he's done for the rest of his life.

Later, Ella is true to her word and deals a final blow to Declan with an explosive revelation about Mia…

Meanwhile, Cain tells Charity that Jai has been sleeping with Ella while she's been away. When Charity and Ella argue, Ella deliberately stirs trouble by revealing to Charity that she was Jai's first love and he still can't resist her. Later, Charity confronts Jai but he turns the argument back onto her when he asks whether she deliberately changed the order numbers so as to sabotage both Nikhil and his business.

Elsewhere, it's the day of Amy's appointment at the clinic but she's left wondering whether she should really go through with the termination.

Declan is shell-shocked after Ella's revelation that Jai is Mia's father. Later, Jai picks up on the edge to Declan's voice as he talks to him about Ella, while Katie is confused when Declan tells her that he can't be there for Mia at the moment, despite her being so upset. Katie explains Ella's threat and is intrigued when Declan confirms that Ella meant it.

Unaware of the revelations, Jai and Nikhil head over to Home Farm, hoping to have a few beers with Declan. But Declan is standoffish when he answers the door, telling them that he can't see them tonight.

Meanwhile, Charity denies any involvement in the mixed-up order, but Jai's suspicions are confirmed when he speaks to Gennie and Chas. Later, Jai confronts Charity - he knows she lied. Charity fights back by accusing him of sleeping with Ella. They continue arguing until Jai tells Charity that it's over between them.

Elsewhere, Amy decides to keep the baby but doesn't tell Cain; Laurel and Ashley bicker about Sandy; while Gennie gets a surprise when Charity and Noah move in.




Fri 26th
Amy has decided to get Val's jewellery back, but Victoria thinks it's a bad idea. Later, Amy begs for forgiveness from Pollard and Val when she hands over the jewellery but Val is furious when she realises that it's not the original piece.

Amy pleads with Pollard and Val, explaining about Jared's dad, but Val is still disgusted by what she did to them. Val warns Amy that there'll be no more lies from now on and though she'll always have a roof over her head, she has nothing more to give her.

Meanwhile, Laurel's mood lifts when Marlon suggests that they should run the kids' club again in half term. Has a line been crossed between them when she squeezes his hand?

Elsewhere, Declan can't face Mia and both Dermot and Mia are confused about why; Debbie's troubled when she learns that Sarah has to see a specialist for her bruises; Ashley tries to keep a lid on his irritation with his father Sandy; while Cain mocks Charity about being kicked out.
