Meanwhile, Hollyoaks rebel Bart McQueen seeks help from loyal friend Jason Costello later this month as his runaway experience with Sinead turns into a nightmare.

Cold, hungry and penniless, Bart knows that he and his girlfriend are in dire need of assistance - but Sinead is fuming when Jason turns up to join them.

When it becomes clear that Jason won't be heading back home anytime soon, Sinead does everything she can to get rid of him. However, the tables eventually turn and as the trio explore an empty farmhouse together, it's Sinead who feels left out in the cold and she storms off following an argument with Jason.

Just as Bart is about to go after Sinead, the owner of the farmhouse arrives and points a gun at him. The angry farmer then holds Bart and Jason captive in the cellar.

As the dangerous situation comes to a head, Jason takes the opportunity to reiterate how he really feels for Bart. Having been rejected by Bart in the past, will Jason get a different response this time around or is he setting himself up for more heartbreak?

These scenes air on Tuesday, August 16 and Wednesday, August 17 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Bart is glad of his pal's help, but Sinead would have rather gone hungry. Keen to keep Bart to herself, Sinead does all she can to send Jason packing.

Witnessing this tender scene, edged-out Jason is on the verge of leaving but Bart encourages him to stay, much to Sinead's irritation.

Meanwhile, concerned by Lynsey's Silas fixation, Cheryl tries to talk her friend round. Getting nowhere and deeply frustrated, Cheryl decides to get away for a few days.

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has expressed his excitement over forthcoming scenes which will see his character Brendan Brady become embroiled in the soap's serial killer storyline.

Brendan's involvement in the plot is believed to begin later this month when he starts spending more time with nurse Lynsey Nolan - the only resident in the village who currently suspects that Silas Blissett is responsible for the murders.

Hollyoaks' killer storyline began last Christmas when Silas killed innocent student India Longford. Since then, he has also murdered con artist Rebecca Massey and terrorised Lynsey.

Praising the decision to involve Brendan in the storyline, Scanlan told Inside Soap: "There's some crazy stuff coming up before Christmas. When I'm watching a TV show, I really want to see the bad guys going toe-to-toe.

"But only time will tell whether Silas can outsmart Brendan."

Jeff Rawle, who plays Silas, recently promised that his character's ongoing storyline will reach an "awful climax" later this year.
