So Leah is pregnant
Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has revealed that there will be turbulent times ahead for her character Leah Patterson-Baker when she discovers she is expecting a baby in a forthcoming storyline.
Leah, who has been dating Miles Copeland (Josh Quong Tart) in recent months, is left stunned by a positive pregnancy test result in scenes which air in Australia next week. However, her reaction to the news could threaten her relationship.
"At first, she doesn't know she's pregnant - she's just hormonal and being a bitch to Miles and needs time to herself," Nicodemou told TV Week. "When she does realise she's pregnant, she doesn't want it.
"That might be an unpopular choice for most people and it can be hard to understand where Leah is coming from, but she doesn't want to be put in that situation at all. She's not happy about being pregnant."
Discussing the impact on Leah and Miles, she continued: "It's a really interesting storyline for them. It makes everything serious because things have been quite light, so it's good to see that side of them. There are some rocky times ahead for them because there are differences of opinion."
Nicodemou explained that Leah's surprising attitude can be explained by delving into her past.
"The history behind all this is that Leah miscarried a few years ago with Dan and it had been a real struggle for her to fall pregnant," she said. "When she was pregnant, she was beside herself with excitement and then there was the miscarriage.
"Any miscarriage is heart-wrenching but she took it really badly and made a decision that she never wants to have kids again."
Home and Away is currently on its summer break in the UK but returns to Channel 5 in September.

A theory going round which to me seems very likely is that tegan says that Brax is the father of Darcy which is a lie and she probably does this to try and hang on to him.

Monday episode 5361 - 15/08/11
Leah and Miles resolve to keep news of the pregnancy a secret for now but each knows they’ve already confided in Roo and Alf and need to ensure their silence. Roo and Alf, however, soon realise they both have the information and while they discuss the joy they feel over it, Colleen overhears. Colleen’s over-protective attitude towards Leah in the Diner soon alerts the happy couple to the fact that the secret is out. They tell VJ who responds with an obvious lack of enthusiasm.
With Brax still recovering in hospital, Charlie is torn between her duty to get to the bottom of the stabbing, the revelation that Brax has a daughter and her romantic feelings towards him. Brax, however, is thrown to learn of Tegan’s revelation and demands a DNA test to prove he’s the father. When Charlie finally gets up the courage to tell Brax she’s still in love with him, she finds Brax in despair over the years he might’ve lost with his kid, and she keeps her feelings to herself.
Sid and Roo struggle to co-ordinate dinner plans with his work schedule but when they finally manage to get together and settle in for a romantic evening, they’re both thrown by the surprise arrival of Sid’s ex-wife… who is quick to point out that she and Sid have never actually divorced.

On learning that her mother is in town, Indi confronts Dex over allowing it to happen and is shocked to discover that Jody is actually staying at the farm. Sid finds Jody crying in the aftermath of Indi’s rejection and can’t help but comfort her. Dex witnesses the loving moment and is left wondering what it means.
While Miles and Leah worry over VJ’s cool reaction to the news of the baby, they also prepare for their first medical check up. Leah realises that Miles is still on anti-psychotic medication and the couple argue over his secrecy. VJ is upset by the fight and when Miles follows up with him, admits that he’s scared things will go wrong with the baby and Miles will leave them. Miles promises that won’t happen and to cement the issue, he confides in Alf that he intends to propose to Leah.
Alf organises a meeting with the Council to try and sort out the issue of his mooring being illegal. Romeo, caught up in Indi’s issues with her mother, misses the meeting. Dex, having witnessed Sid and Jody together the night before, worries that his parents might be getting back together. When he learns that it was nothing more than an innocent moment of comfort, he appeals to Indi to try and let go of the past and forgive Jody. Indi remains reluctant but through Romeo’s encouragement, finds the strength to give it a go. A tentative truce is forged between mother and daughter. Jody elects to leave it at that for now but ensures that the divorce papers are signed before she leaves Summer Bay.
Roo gets the idea of helping Alf with his mooring issue by writing an article for the local newspaper to rally public support. Colleen is keen to help and Alf is touched when Roo tells him how proud she was to hear how strongly the community feels about him. She would like to have those sort of memories when she’s his age and with that in mind, Roo makes the decision to end things with Sid.
Liam admits to Romeo that he’s struggling in his relationship with Bianca. He wants to help her, be there for her, but is at a loss as to how to make the situation better. Bianca is also struggling, knowing that her fears of intimacy are creating a chasm between them. Liam tries to assure her that it isn’t a problem, he will wait, but when Bianca attempts to rekindle the physical side of their relationship, she panics and can’t go through with it. And Liam is pushed further away from her emotionally.
