Coronation Street builder Chris Gray leaves girlfriend Maria Connor terrified next month when he explodes with rage at her flat, smashing things up and throwing furniture around.

The drama begins when Chris starts behaving strangely over the next few days, appearing forgetful and distracted - which makes Maria question whether he's losing interest in their relationship.

Events soon come to a head when Chris causes an accident at work which injures Jason, prompting an angry Owen to put him on his last warning. However, volatile Chris tells his boss that he can stick his job.

Keen to resolve the matter, Maria pays a visit to Owen and begs him to take Chris back. However, when her words of persuasion prove successful and she shares the news with her boyfriend, he goes into meltdown and rants about her going behind his back.

After furiously causing destruction in Maria's home, Chris storms out but his ex Cheryl soon discovers what's been going on and confronts him.

Opening up to his former partner, Chris finally confesses the tragic truth behind his recent erratic behaviour - he has a brain tumour and may not have long left. How will Cheryl react and will Chris be able to confide in Maria?

Mon 8th


Chris feels guilty when he causes an accident at work and it leaves Jason injured. Owen's furious and when he warns Chris he's in the last chance saloon, Chris tells him to stick his job.

At home, Maria's worried and with Chris off getting drunk, she begs Owen to take him back. But when Chris finds out that she's been behind his back, he goes into meltdown - leaving Maria horrified.

Meanwhile, it's David and Kylie's first day in charge at the salon and Kylie's keen to make it a success by advertising reiki and head massages. However, she isn't qualified and when an appointment with Julie goes wrong, Gail panics at what she hears.

Elsewhere, Leanne is furious when she finds out that Deirdre has invited Stella in for a cup of tea while Simon is there, while Amber railroads Sophie and Sian into a girlie night out.

As Chris bursts out of the flat, Cheryl's passing. Almost fearing what she'll discover, she heads inside to find Maria upset and scared. A stunned Cheryl confronts Chris, but he breaks down - admitting he's seriously ill.

Chris explains to Cheryl that he's had a scan and has a brain tumour but has been too scared to face it. How will Cheryl react to the news and as Maria insists their relationship is over, will Chris tell her the truth?

Meanwhile, Audrey's helping Marcia get glammed up when Gail bursts into the house, slamming Kylie's antics at the salon. Will she discover the truth about Marcia, or will Marc's ingenious use of a cream cake save the day?

Later, Gail has her first shift at the Bistro, which goes from bad to worse as she serves a Gazette reviewer with disastrous consequences.

Elsewhere, Stella tries to make inroads with Leanne by showing her some baby items she kept and asking Leanne to drop by for a birthday drink with her tomorrow, while Sophie's put out by how much Sian seems to enjoy Amber's company.

Thurs 11th

It's a big step for Leanne but she buys a birthday card for Stella and heads to the pub.

However, Stella's out so Eva promises to pass the card on, but throws it in the bin. Stella's gutted, convinced Leanne wants nothing to do with her.

Meanwhile, as Chris prepares for the consultant, he rejects Maria's plea to get back together, claiming he has to deal with this on his own and can't put her through it. At the hospital, Cheryl is by his side as he learns his fate. But finding them together back at the house, Lloyd jumps to conclusions and accuses Cheryl of seeing her ex. How will she react as Chris deals with his news?

Elsewhere, when Audrey discovers the chaos that David and Kylie have caused at the salon, she reads the riot act and reminds them who is in charge, while Julie's date with Brian is a disaster.

Fri 12th

Lloyd has offered to drive Chris to his first radiotherapy session as he doesn't want Cheryl spending time with him.

Arriving back on the street, Lloyd admits he does feel sorry for Chris who is clearly struggling to cope alone. But when Cheryl asks if Chris can move in with them, Lloyd is floored. Will he agree?

Meanwhile, as Stella's forced to accept there may never be reconciliation between her and Leanne, Eva's pleased. But when Karl asks Leanne to keep out of Stella's way from now on, Leanne's confused. Will Eva's cruel act be discovered?

Elsewhere, Brian and Julie prepare for a second date, while Audrey is determined that her salon won't be run into the ground so she enrols David on an intensive business course and insists Kylie sticks to nails.

As Stella and Leanne share a drink, Eva broods and warns Leanne to stay out of her way.

The mood is further soured when Carla and Frank arrive at the pub. Feeling the tension, Carla leaves but Frank wants to know their history. As Carla admits her past feelings for Peter, how will Frank react?

Meanwhile, Cheryl's angry with Lloyd after his refusal to let Chris move in. However, when Lloyd walks in on Cheryl and Chris breaking the news about his illness to Russ, he feels guilty. Will Lloyd have a change of heart?

Elsewhere, Julie risks blowing her chance with Brian again by getting too drunk, while Gail's horrified to hear that David's business course is residential, meaning she's going to be left with Kylie for two weeks.
