Woodentops I read something about that wasn't that the pilot episode or something I've only been watching it a few years but I saw the pilot when it was shown on ITV2 or 3 last year for the 20th anniversary with June and Jim

I don't really watch it, but i catch it now & again. I watched it quite often when that storyline with that family was in it, forgot what they were called now, but they owned like a bar, and Linda Bellingham was in it, and the guy who played Graham Foster in EastEnders. And I liked everything to do with them, and Kerry getting shot, etc.

i wlatched it for years but it was always on and off the first episodes that i can really rememer watching it from properly were when they started doing the mini storylines and they had one where a new probationer started can't remember his name but he was cute and des took him under his wing but he ended up being killed within a few episodes

anyone else remember this?
loved the storylines of late esp the sniper, kerry in her last few months and her death andrea and the des/sheila storyline
and of course gabriels reign of terror (but will enjoy his decline more hopefully)

Watched it for an age, though not as long as you Alan! Can remember the days of 1/2 episodes once a week and they were solved in the 1/2 hour as well. Initially, it was a series, a long one, but there were breaks, but this all changed a while ago when the fan base got bigger. It was about the same time, they changed the episodes to 1 hour storylines once a week and gradually made it to what it is today....I have remembered this right haven't I Alan, or has my age affected my grey matter???!! :rotfl:

I've watched "The Bill" for years now and am saddened to see it's decline at the hands of Paul Marquess. I remember the days when it had gripping storylines and they didn't centre around the officers private lives or the officers themselves. You got to know the characters through little things that happened whilst solving cases. You didn't have any full-blown storylines about the officers or anything.
I think it's changed far too much and if "Sun Hill" police station really did exist it would be closed down now or atleast under an enquiry. The amount of stuff that goes on is astonishing. There's more crime in that police station than outside it!

I stopped watching religously when that woman got shot dead when she was trying to escape. Her name escapes me but it was quite recent. Ahhh Linda Bellingham that's it!
I don't think they have anything decent going on at the moment but it's always on in this house even if it is background noise.

I remember the credits with the feet. I used to think they were cool! :D

Just looked at the Q & A section of the website. It says:

Warren in Brisbane asks: Do you know who were the two characters whose legs and feet are shown walking away when the closing credits were shown for many episodes?

It was supposed to be Jim and June's feet but they were both busy shooting other scenes so it ended up being two extras- Karen England and Paul Page Hanson.

So we were both right and wrong really!!! :cheer:

I thought she was a bit of a wet blanket who was very gullible. She should have been with Smithy from the start, that might of sorted her out - someone who really loved her. All that stuff with Luke messed her up a bit!!

I know the feeling. I used to watch Doctors, Neighbours, Home and Away, Family Affairs, Hollyoaks, The Bill, Holby City, Casualty, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street. Something had to give! I gave up everything except the big 3 then I decided to take The Bill and Holby back on. Occasionally watch Hollyoaks too. My video recorder used to be on non-stop though. I wouldn't miss any of the above but I had to give up. I have a severe television addiction!

i used to watch it on a sunday night... wasn't that a long time ago... hehe... then stopped and started watching it again about 2-3 years ago, can't quite remember... hehe... there's nothing like the original cast... but there has to be new characters so the show can continue i suppose...

it was Jim Boltan i think, Don Beech killed him in the billJohn Bolton - Beech killed him, went on the run, so Claire went off chasing after him.

He appeared in Eastenders a few months back, was the one that Kat slept with after she got thrown out of the court from Grahams trial!

Too true PM  was obsessed with Murder, Rape, Explosions and Sex (and that was just the peelers at Sun Hill)

I can never forgive him for introducing the most ridiculous character with the most ludicrous storylines played by one of the worst actors IMHO
Gabriel K*nt  aka David K*nt  aka The Chimp  aka The Simian One

Doesn't the entire Gabriel storyline remind you of the Cathy Bradford one though. I stopped watching for a bit and even emailed the bill to complain that it was going on for far too long - it did my head in!! And after all she did, where is she now - a looney bin!!

pookie1968uk

i think most people thought the same about the cathy bradford story, it was too much in the end. it is a good thing the gabriel story is finishing too as it gets to the point were you think he couldnt get away with anything else!!!!

I know its not real, but surely someone in Sun Hill has an inkling about it. Smithy used to be suspicious of him, but that seems to have gone quiet :searchme:

i like the bill but went off it for a while now i'm really enjoying it again. I think Gabriel Kent is so funny and Todd Carty is brilliant. He is just so evil.

I think the majority of actors have had bit parts in the bill. Over the two three years i have watched loads of familier faces have popped up in it.
