Sean Kingston has been stabilised following a serious water sports accident yesterday.

Kingston was rushed to Jackson Memorial hospital late on Sunday in Miami after the jet ski he was riding with a female friend collided with a bridge.

The singer has now been moved from the hospital's trauma unit to intensive care, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

"Sean Kingston is now stabilized and has moved from the trauma unit to ICU," the singer's publicist said. "Sean's family thanks everyone for their prayers and support during this time."

Jorge Pino, spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the lead investigative agency of the accident, explained what happened during Kingston's accident.

He told People: "Sean was heading west from the MacArthur Causeway and Miami Beach Islands when his personal watercraft collided with the bridge, and he and his female passenger ended up in the water.

"A good Samaritan tended to the two of them until Miami Beach Fire Rescue arrived and saw there were injuries."

The singer first rose to fame back in 2007 with the song 'Beautiful Girls' and has since gone on to have a successful music career, recently collaborating with Canadian popstar Justin Bieber.

"My love & prayers are with Sean Kingston & his family," rapper Nicki Minaj tweeted earlier today.

"Sean we are praying for you baby," Rihanna also tweeted, in support of the singer.

Sean Kingston has recovered the use of his legs.

The 'Take You There' singer was admitted to the hospital over Memorial Day weekend after a jet ski accident in Miami left him in critical condition.

According to Pop Eater, Kingston is finally breathing on his own, and took his very first steps since the incident today.

"Sean is breathing on his own now and walked for the first time this morning," the singer's publicist Joseph Carozza said. "Sean thanks his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes."

It was reported in early June that Kingston will make a full recovery within six weeks of the jet ski crash.

However, the singer may now face a fine of more than $30,000 (£18,000) for disturbing the area's wild manatees.

It remains uncertain how the crash occurred, though the authorities have ruled out intoxication as the cause of the accident.

Kingston was spotted wearing a brace on his injured left wrist as he filmed a music video for 'Replay' musician Iyaz, NBC Miami reports.

The 'Take You There' star later added on Twitter: "Great day spent with my Time is Money TEAM!... @iyazlive @tlanez and @jbarsodmg... south beach was a movie :-) time to rest up.. GOD BLESS (sic)"

Kingston was released from Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida on June 21. He is expected to make a full recovery from his injuries, which also included a broken jaw and a fractured wrist.

Months after he crashed his jet ski to a bridge in Florida, Sean Kingston opened up about how serious his injuries were. In his first televised interview after the May accident, the singer who collaborates with Justin Bieber in single "Eenie Meenie" unraveled that he underwent two open heart surgeries.

During the "MTV First" special, the 21-year-old told Sway Calloway, "A lot of people don't know it was a deeper situation. I had open heart surgery and I had two other surgeries; it was a life-or-death situation." He revealed that he underwent emergency surgery when he was about to be discharged from the hospital.

"They were gonna send me home, but then I had felt a pain in my left chest, and I told my mom," the R&B singer recalled. "They rushed me and they did a lot of scans on me, [and] they said I couldn't leave." He then revealed he has to go under the knife to repair a torn aorta. Still, it wasn't the end. He added that "they had to go back in for other things."

As for his current condition, Sean assured, "I'm doing good. I'm feeling great. I'm excited. I'm happy." He went on to share that he's not taking life for granted now. "What the accident basically taught me is, in life, you have to count your blessings," he explained. "You just got to keep God present at all times and think about the consequences."

During the Tuesday (August 2) chat, the "Beautiful Girls" hitmaker said that he was going about 35 miles an hour when the incident happened. He admitted to have miscalculated how high the tide had risen before his collision with a bridge. Despite the accident, he said, "I'm definitely going to be jet-skiing again. I have to overcome my fear. It wasn't the jet ski, it was not knowing the area."
