Tracy and Steve are racked with guilt as the mystery behind Amy’s illness is revealed.

Kate Ford has hinted that her scheming Coronation Street character Tracy Barlow could receive a wake-up call when she discovers the truth about her daughter Amy's sickness.

Earlier this week, fans saw Amy fall ill in mysterious circumstances, uniting parents Tracy and Steve (Simon Gregson) temporarily as they took her to hospital.

In a twist, however, Tracy and Steve will soon discover that Amy has been deliberately making herself sick by drinking milk even though she knows she is allergic. It later becomes clear that the youngster's actions are a desperate bid for attention.

Speaking to Soaplife, Ford confirmed: "[Tracy] catches Amy taking milk from the fridge. Amy drops the milk and locks herself in the front room and Tracy calls Steve round to coax her out. Amy tells them she's been making herself ill because then Steve comes round and her parents are nicer to each other."

She continued: "Both she and Steve feel very guilty. They haven't behaved well and at times have forgotten that there's a child involved."

Ford added that Tracy may begin to regret the way she has exploited Amy in her ongoing wars with Steve and Becky.

"She starts to think it would be better if Amy wasn't being used as a pawn between her and Steve," the actress said. "She knows she has to put Amy first."

There's some surprising moments ahead for Coronation Street's Sally Webster towards the end of the month as her personal life takes some surprising twists.

When Kevin is left injured following an accident at the garage, Sally makes the shock decision to let him move back in with her so that she can help him with baby Jack while he recovers.

Sally makes it clear to Kevin that he won't be able to worm his way back in romantically as she's loving her new relationship with Jeff, but as she plays mum to Jack, it's a clear reminder of the days they spent as a couple.

At the same time, Jeff is more determined than ever to take his relationship with Sally further, and after inviting her out for a romantic lunch, he drops down on one knee and asks her to marry him.

Sally is left stunned by Jeff's proposal, but what will her answer be?

It doesn't look like an enthusiastic "yes", judging by her face!

23rd May 7-30pm

Amy's ill again and Tracy's worried sick. When Steve rushes round, Amy laps it up, leaving a suspicious Becky hinting that Tracy may be behind her relapse.

At the same time, Becky's forced to meet with Kylie, who insists they need to talk. Does she want Max back?

Meanwhile, Kevin's now convinced that someone sabotaged the lift in a bid to hurt him and the finger of suspicion is pointing at Tommy after Kevin sacked him. When Kevin then spots Tommy trying to fix the lift, it's all the evidence he needs. As Tommy takes the rap, will Tyrone confess?

Elsewhere, Fiz and John are nervous as they head to hospital for Hope's echocardiogram, Audrey's dilemma over Marc and Claudia continues, Jeff's shocked to find Kevin is back living with Sally, and Carla collars Owen over the factory's overflowing drains.

8-30pm

As Steve and Tracy reel from Amy's revelation, they're both forced to acknowledge what their arguments have driven her to.

Realising how confusing it must be to have your parents living next door to each other but not with each other, Tracy makes a big decision. But when she lays out her plan of action to Steve, how will he react?

Meanwhile, at the Hoyles', John explains that he and Fiz are going to disappear and when they're a safe distance away he'll call the police. Later, back on the street, John pales to see a drainage engineer at the factory. Desperate to get away, he lies to Fiz that Colin has been in touch and is threatening to go to the police over Joy's money. Will Fiz agree to run away with him?

Elsewhere, Kevin promises not to call the police over Tyrone as long as he agrees to forget the past and move on, Sean's over the moon when Marcus comes to visit, Gary's over-protective behaviour worries Izzy, and Sally helps Kevin with baby Jack.

26th May

As Chesney and the Hoyles plan their escape, John plans his and Fiz's midnight flit. But both go amiss - a tussle in the basement leaves Alan fighting for his life and the hostages are abandoned by their captor in the hope that he'll be long gone before their bodies are discovered.

When John then returns to the street to find the factory floor being pulled up, he panics. Needing to stay and deal with the possibility of Colin's body turning up, he tells Fiz there's been a change of plan.

Meanwhile, Steve's desperate to stop Tracy leaving with his daughter, but he has no moves left. The screw's turned further when David and Kylie arrive to talk about custody of Max. Reeling from this double whammy and the threat of losing both children, it feels like the walls are closing in on Steve.

Elsewhere, Jeff drops down on one knee and asks Sally to marry him, and Tina's thrilled when Xin announces that she's got a nursing job in Scotland.

27th May 7-30pm

Desperate to know what's going on inside the factory, John begs Owen to take him on as a labourer. Reluctantly, Owen agrees. Seeing the rate that the floor is being dug up at, John panics and sabotages the job by damaging the pneumatic drill. But for how long can he keep Colin's body hidden?

At the same time, as Katy struggles to cope without Chesney and agrees to go to the abortion clinic, a determined Chesney struggles to free himself in the Hoyles' basement. Alan is seriously injured and Dorothy is fading fast without her diabetes medication. Can Ches free them all in time?

Meanwhile, David's set on getting custody of Max, despite Kylie's protests that he's better off where he is. But David's on fire and marches round to the pub, insisting that they're here to take Max out. Instinctively, Becky grabs Max and throws them out, locking the door. David then bangs on the door as Becky barricades herself in.

Elsewhere, Graeme begins to get territorial over Xin, while Gary and Izzy make up and joke about his over-protective streak.

8-30pm

As the workers resort to smashing up the factory floor with sledgehammers, Ches attempts to smash his way out of the basement. However, he's weak and remains trapped.

Back at the factory, as the builders finish for the day, John returns and desperately starts pulling up concrete with his hands. When he doesn't come home or answer his phone, Fiz goes looking for his mobile but finding Chesney's instead, she realises something is wrong and goes to confront John. What will she find?

Meanwhile, hearing about the fracas, Steve returns to the pub and darkly orders David to leave. He goes but insists this isn't over. As Steve comforts Becky, Tracy visits and reveals that she'll be leaving in a few days for London. Gutted by the way this is all turning out, Steve feels powerless to stop it but Lloyd has an idea.

Elsewhere, Graeme admits to Xin just how much he's going to miss her, and Izzy's offended when Gary suggests that an art course in Oldham would be too much of a strain for her.
