Science took exception to Big Brother calling him a chicken today.

He and his egg, Egbert, visited the Diary Room to complain about the name, opting to answer to 'rooster' instead.

"Me and Egbert aren't happy," he grumbled. "Cos chickens are the female of the species. Of the... bird species."

Science continued that Big Brother's decision to call him a chicken was confusing young Egbert. "He keeps asking, 'Papa Science, why is that happening?'"

A patient Big Brother kindly pointed out that 'chicken' is the type of bird and the word 'hen' is used to refer to the females.

Papa Science was quick to apologise. "Science is wrong," he grinned, blaming Egbert for his embarrassment. "You got me in trouble there," he muttered to his egg.

But he still fancied being called a rooster and felt Big Brother should refer to the feathered Housemates by their gender.

Flatly refusing this idea, Big Brother went on to explain that 'rooster' is an American term. 'Cockerel' is the correct English word.

Abashed, Science swiftly exited the Diary Room mumbling to Egbert, "Well that clarified a few a things."

It seems Science isn't much of an egghead.
