Neighbours producers have revealed full details of their plans to reference the royal wedding in a special scene recorded exclusively for UK fans.

Last week, Channel 5 bosses announced that the episode of Neighbours airing on the day of Prince William and Kate Middleton's nuptials will see Ramsay Street residents discussing the special occasion.

It has now been confirmed that an extra scene slotted into the episode will feature show regular Kate Ramsay (Ashleigh Brewer) tuning into TV coverage of the ceremony at Charlie's Bar.

According to Holy Soap, as she watches the proceedings unfold, Kate ends up in a battle over the remote control as Lucas Fitzgerald (Scott Major) wants to switch over to a football match. However, the mechanic soon becomes just as interested in the royal event himself.

The episode in question has already aired in Australia without the additional scene, which was recently organised as a collaboration between Neighbours' executive producer Susan Bower and Channel 5 commissioning editor Greg Barnett.

BBC soap EastEnders also recently revealed plans to mark the royal wedding by showing actual footage from the ceremony on the Queen Vic's television in the show's April 29 episode.
